Anne’s POV continues
What did I just hear?
Don’t tell me it is true?
But how can it be possible, how can it be that I’m the daughter of someone like Richærd, my parent are dead, how could it be that I’m the true daughter of Richærd, does that means that Lisa isn’t their true daughter..
Oh gosh!
This is confusing!!
I can’t believe it?
I was so shocked and transfixed that I was no more conscious of where I stood,
I don’t even know when the door was opened,
“Anne!!” I heard the voice of my stepmom gruffed and that was when I returned back to reality
“Er..erm, I’m sorry I..i.” I kept stuttering scratching my head, I was afraid of what her action would be..
“Come in” she ordered and I obeyed immediately without wasting a single minute,
I walked in and saw the middle aged man who had been talking with my stepmom, he looked handsome, he was sitting on the bed,
“Good day sir” I greeted with a with a short bow and he smiled widely and beckoned me to sit on the couch in front of him,
I sat down and rested my gaze on him, I was very eager and anxious to know if what I heard was true which I pray it should be because that would mean that I would no longer be maltreated by anyone…
“Erm.. Anne is your name right??” He asked and I nodded and glanced at my stepmom who had her gaze fixed on her phone less concerned..
“Today I’ve just decided to make it open to you the secret behind your birth..you have knew her as your stepmom right??” He asked pointing at Rose my stepmom..
I nodded my head and he continued
“She is not your relative talk more of being your stepmom, she is someone I employed to take care of you” he said and I cringed in shock
“Why???” I asked with a raised brow
“I thought you were my daughter but I just knew not long ago that you aren’t, there was a misplace in your childbirth!” He said out and this time I felt drained..
“My wife left me and ran away leaving me to take care of you!” He said and I stared at him urging him to go on with my eyes
“After you were born, we were happy, buy as you started growing up, we found out that you don’t resemble anyone from my relative and the relative of my wife, on finding this out, I secretly went for a DNA test and was totally shocked to find out that you were different, that made me accuse my wife of laying with another man, this made her very furious and the next day, she left without me knowing, I was left with you alone and I was confused on what to do, all my relative refused taking care of the child because they believe it wasn’t one of them, they termed you a bastard… After thinking thoroughly, I decided to employ this lady here to take care of you and that was how you grew up in her arm, it was all a lie that your parent died, it was all a set-up..” he paused then glanced at Rose who was now playing with her nails..
“I was into deep search to find you real parent, I was close to losing hope when I came across the doctor who did the child delivery for my wife, after telling him everything, he helped me out by searching through the surveillance cameras of what happened that day and there we saw the nurse who did the misplacement, there and then, I found out that your real parent is the proprietor of Royal Hill High School, your father is Richærd!” He stated out and I felt my heart leap for joy and glee..
“Are you serious??” I asked with an uncontrollable laughter
“Yes”
“Oowww, that’s a great news, so I’m the daughter of that multi millionaire..yeee” I squealed in joy,
Who would not be happy that once again, he would no longer suffer.. I feel like bursting!!!!
“But you are not going to him until I gets the amount of money I spent in training you” he said out and I arched my brow at him..
“You are not serious! How can you do it?? He..”
“That’s not your business, this is what you would do, don’t ever go to him and tell him you are his daughter because he would not believe you and furthermore, I would make you suffer for it!!” He warned In a stern voice,
“But why do..”
“Don’t say anything, just do as told!” My stepmom or should I say ex-stepmom huffed and I rolled my eyes at her,
“Are you shouting on me??” I asked with a sneer
“What does that means?” She asked bating her lashes
“You are just an employee so your opinion isn’t needed!” I scoffed and I could see her burn in rage, I think she wants to hit me like before but she can’t now because she is no longer my guidance and she knows I would not have mercy on her if I finally goes to Richærd, i may even jail her…
“Anne the only way you can pay me for not killing you while you are a child is by doing what I just told you!..you would soon go to him but that would be few days from now” he said and I nodded with a calm smile
“Okay, my name is Michael” he introduced and I smiled
“Don’t forget me when you gets there oo” he said with a smile and I chuckled
“Until then” I muttered
“Hey don’t also forget me too” my stepmom ch¡pped in and I was surprised
“Really??” I asked in amazement
“I’m sorry I was maltreating you all this while, it is just out of frustration..” she pleaded and I stared at her in surprise,
Since I knew my ex-stepmom, she had never begged me for anything but today she had finally neglect her ego and did it, that’s great!!
“Are you actually asking me for forgiveness?” I sneered and and she sighed
“I have no choice” she muttered and I could see she was really fighting with her pride
“Okay I have heard you well, you are forgiven” I croaked and stood up,
“See you next time” Micheal greeted and shook hands with me,
I nodded and walked away with a broad smile..
I have never had this kind of joy for a long time, it makes me go gaga…
I can’t wait for that day when I would ran into the arm of Richærd as a father and not a student, that would be the end of the maltreatment from the student, I would no longer be a commoner but someone important…
Ohh God!!!
Drake’s POV
I buried my face into my palm with my mind swimming in the ocean of thought, I was thinking of no other person than Anne, the feeling keeps growing as the day goes on, right now, i feel she should just walk into my room and sit beside me, I just want her close,
I need to find a way and set Anne and Jeremy apart, that’s the only way I can get her to myself, that’s the only way she can consider me,
I think I know what I would do,
Anne would have no choice than to accept me, I am Drake and I gets what I want…
Jeremy’s POV
I can’t find happiness anymore, even when I want to smile, I can’t just do it, why can I smile when being with Anne is something likely not to happen unless someone becomes hurt,
I don’t want Anne to be hurt, I don’t want any harm to befall her, that would be my greatest pain…
I kept drowning in thought until my phone made a beeping sound signifying an incoming call,
I took the phone and glanced at the screen, it was my father, I picked the call and places it on my ear,
“Hello son, how are you???” He greeted in a cheerful voice, I guess he thought he had done a good thing to me
“Father what is my crime to you, why did you put me into a very complicated situation? Why??” I asked in anger
“What do you mean? Don’t tell me you no longer love Sophia” he said out just as if he could read my mind
“That’s exactly the fact, I no longer love her, I loves another girl!!” I half yelled
“Oh shit!! I never knew, and I signed..”
“That’s where you shattered my life dad, that’s where you put me into trouble, why didn’t you ask me for an approval before taking the decision??!!!” I asked in a raised tone
“I had wanted it to be a surprise to you, I never knew you could fall in love with any other lady than Sophia, you once told me that you hate Nigerian so I never thought you could fall in love..I never knew” he said in a pale tone,
“What about cancelling the doc-ment” I suggested
“That can’t happen, it has been sealed” he said slowly
“Does that means I would be forced to marry her” I snorted
“I’m sorry, you…” I cut the call in anger and flinched my phone away,
Omg…
Why me???
I don’t love Sophia, I want Anne!!!
“If you really love her then stand up like a man and fight for your love” I heard Anne’s voice sounded on a soft tone,
I looked around and found her standing at the door step,
I quickly rushed to her with a deep k-ss,
“Ohh Anne, I love you” I muffled holding her tightly to my body,
“I love you too baby” she cooed and I pecked her neck,
“How did you came here just when I needed you” I asked and she giggled
“My heart directed me” she said and held my palm
“For us to be together sacrifice must be made, we can’t fold up how hands and wait why we are being defeated, let’s do this together once and for all” she said and my heart missed beat, the way she held my hand made me shiver, her shimmering eyes which peered into mine makes me feel unending joy,
“I am ready, let fight for our love” I said and she smiled sweetly and hugged me tightly making me feel a deep s-nsation all over my body,
“What are you both doing???” I heard Sophia’s voice from behind and we both broke the hug and turned to her,
“Hey you riffraff, what brought you here again??” She questioned Anne with a glare and I could see her giggle
“You must be crazy or stupid to call me a riffraff, I guess you don’t know the meaning” Anne sneered with a mockery laughter
“You must be out of your mind, how….”
“Stop forcing yourself into a man or you would be called a cheap slut” she interjected in a sarcastic tone,
I could see Sophia burn in rage,
she raised up her hand to slap Anne but got the greatest shock of her life,
Anne caught hold of her hand and pushed it downward then gave her a very hot slap that made her loose balance and fall on the floor like a bag of rice,
She quickly stood up in shame and turned her gaze to me..
“Jeremy she slapped me!” She muffled,
“That suits you” I said and held Anne,
There in front of her, I k-ssed Anne deeply..
