CHAPTER 64
“And why would you feel excited leaving for sylph?” Garam snapped.
“Let’s not do this tonight Garam.” Rosanne sighed.
“I’ll leave you two alone now.” Zackary sighed, shaking his head before wanting to walking away.
“No father, do not leave. And listen to this”
“Listen to what?” Zackary was taken aback.
Rosanne breathed out. “Garam here is angry, thinking something is going on between the crown prince and I. What manner is his thinking?”
Zackary glanced at Garam.
“Every right person in my shoes would get angry too” Garam snarled.
“What shoes exactly?” Rosanne rolled her eyes.
“These shoes.”
“Nothing is going on between the crown prince and I. I am betrothed, how can you think so lowly of me Garam.” Rosanne yelled..
“Because I’m scared okay… I am scared.” Garam Breathed out.
“You don’t have to be, nothing will ever happen between the crown prince and I” Rosanne shook her head.
“Promise me.” Garam growled.
“I don’t have to, nothing will ever happen.” Rosanne stated with boldness.
“No I do not need to hear that Rosanne, promise me.”
“Fine. I promise.” Rosanne sighed. “The fact that you do not trust me hurts me Garam. I feel sorry for myself.”
“When a person like that is in the picture, things get stormy and trust is the last thing I want right now” Garam added getting on his feet.
“Okay I’m tired of you two bickerings” Zackary chimed. “Just call this off and be yourselves again.” He sighed.
“Maybe when I return from sylph.” Rosanne folded her arms.
“I hope you never make it to sylph.” Garam glared at Rosanne before walking out of the cottage.
“Father. You heard what he just said to me.” Rosanne gasped.
“Rosanne, calm down. He’s just being jealous. He has every right to, do not get on his tail and let him be, okay.” Zackary calmed his daughter and she sighed.
“I am tired of him.” Rosanne shook her head.
“Now, do not say that Rose” Zackary sighed.
“He is your betrothed and tomorrow you will nigh apologize to each other before you leave for sylph. Do I make myself clear?”.
Rosanne glowered at her father. “Crystal clear” she spat.
“Now are you hungry?” Zackary asked.
“I am not” Rosanne replied sternly.

Martha was almost home when she bumped into someone in front of her father’s cottage.
“Goddammit Martha!” Garam growled.
“I am so sorry” Martha apologized.
“First Rosanne, now you. You lass are all head aches.”
“What do you mean? Is there something wrong” Martha asked.
“Nothing is wrong and clearly none of your business.” Garam said about to walk away when Martha pulled him back.
“You know you can talk to me right? About anything, what are friends for?” Martha shrugged.
Garam sighed. “Do you really want to listen to my problems.?”
“If it’s worth it” Martha shrugged with a smile.
“Fine. Let’s move to that oak tree.” Garam suggested.
“Fine… By me.” Martha beamed.

“So Rosanne already told me.” Martha spilled out.
“What? She told you?” Garam was shocked. “She told you, I think something might be going on between her and the crown prince?”
“She told me loud and clear.” Martha smiled.
“I never knew you two were that close.”
“We were, I was the one who distanced myself. But that is not what we were talking about. Back to you and Rosanne, Rose made it clear that she and the crown prince had nothing, and you know Rosanne can be brutally honest, she was and I believed her, she said the crown prince can never fall in love with her, if that is what we were thinking.” Martha explained.
“Clearly it’s what I’m thinking. It’s what anyone would think, but if something was happening, there was no way Rosanne wouldn’t have spill, do you not trust her?” Martha asked.
Garam sighed. “I do… I am just scared”
“Do be afraid not. Rosanne is Rosanne.” Martha smiled.
“Well thank you very much Martha. Thank you, I’ll push my jealousy tonight and apologize to Rosanne, it was silly if me to be jealous at first” Garam sighed.
“No you had every right to be jealous, she is your betrothed, soon to be married, I would have flipped some tables if my betrothed works for someone as charming as that.” Martha blurted out.
“You also think the crown prince is charming?”
“You don’t? Who doesn’t?” Martha scoffed.
“I will not talk about that tonight, anyways you look really beautiful in a dress and your hair all tied up, unlike the ugly trousers you fix your legs in.”
“A compliment that came with an insult, thank you Garam.” Martha chewed.
Garam laughed. “Well good night” He added before walking away.
Martha found herself grinning from ear to ear before swallowing her smile and walking back to her cottage, to smile her day away, she was glad she had a conversation with Garam.

After having late night supper, Rosanne finished her cup of water before turning to her father who was examining her embroidery.
“Father” she called.
Zackary turned to her.
“First of all. Thank you for the meal.”
Zackary shrugged.
“But I do have a question.” Rosanne dropped her wooden cup.
“Go on dear.”
Rosanne slowly pulled down her dress covering her shoulder and it revealed the birth mark on her body.
“This is just a birth mark right?” She asked.
“Of course it is.” Zackary got on his feet immediately.
“Splendid,” Rosanne beamed. “Then why is it the same as the cursed beast mark.?”
“How do you know about the beast mark?” Zackary asked.
“Everyone in Orrander knows about the beast mark father” Rosanne shook her head. “Why does my mark look similar to the beast mark?” Rosanne asked again.
“It is just a coincidence, yours is just a birthmark, I promise” Zackary smiled.
Rosanne got on her feet. “Why am I not believing you father..”
“What do you mean? You have to believe me Roseanne” Zackary sighed.
“Am I cursed?” Rosanne asked. “Is that the reason you always tell me to not show my mark to people, is that it?”.
“It’s not, Rosanne… It’s because coincidentally your birthmark mark looks like the curse mark of Orrander, and if people sees it, they might mistake it for the curse mark and I do not want any problems.” Zackary yelled.
“Let me break it to you father, it is just a birthmark and yet it looks the same as the crown prince’s cursed mark and it glowed when his Highness placed his eyes on it, and so did the eyes of his Highness, how do you explain, just a birth mark to do that?” Rosanne asked.
“The crown prince has the cursed mark?” Zackary was finding out for the first Time.
“That’s the reason he’s being isolated, the reason he’s been obscured is because he is cursed, the beasts of Orrander lives in him” Rosanne blurted out.
“What?” Zackary yelled. “And no one told me? Even you? You’re just telling me this Rosanne? You’ve been under the roof of danger and you’re just telling me.?”
“Believe me when I say it has been long since I found out myself. And the crown prince is no danger.” Rosanne defended.
“That’s it, I don’t care if I have my cut off, I’ll talk to the Queen and king, you are never going back to sylph or work for his Highness”.
