Chapter 54

Gloryland Hospital
“Doctor… The patient has been taken to the laboratory already!!” The security said hindering him Friday going in.
“What?”
“Yes… They took her about 45 minutes ago…” They replied, sure of what they were saying.
“How sure… I mean who were they?” The doctor asked totally confused.
“Two doctors and a nurse… to be precise”
“And how sure were you that they were medical personnels?”
“We had to access their ID’s and though they were on duty!”
“Oh my…!” The doctor sighs, palming his hand on his forehead.
“Any problem doctor?” They asked see the expression on his face.
“We didn’t schedule her at that time… Neither did we even plan on taking her to the laboratory…” He says shaking his head.
He looks at both securities, “Could you get their names?”
“Yeah… Dr. Ben Hartford, Dr. Richard Oliver and the nurse… Miss Blaire Ruby…”
The doctor sensed something very fishy and quickly pulls out his phone from his pocket.
“Hello” He called after dialling the medical register holder.
“Hello doctor… How may I help you?” The voice said over the phone.
“Please check through the medical field for Dr. Ben…… and Miss Blaire Ruby!”
“On it sir!… But uhm which field are they actually working on?”
The doctor looks at both securities for an answer since the phone was on loud-speaker.
Instead the security shook their head and shrugs their shoulders signifying that they do not know.
“Holy sh*t!!” The doctor muttered under his breath out of disappointment.
“What did you say sir?”
“Nothing actually… just… just search for their names in all category please… It’s urgent!!”, he says and hang up the phone.
“What would I do now… How would I tell Jason that…” He sighs deeply.
He turns back to look at the securities.
“Be quick! Search every where and Laboratory and make sure you bring her before they are back…”

On The Road
Roseanna opens her eyes gradually thinking she was still in the hospital but was surprised to be in a moving car which seems to be at speed.
She looks at herself while she was seated but was still on the hospital gown. She rubs her protruded stomach, caressing it.
The car was on full speed, hasting up to leave the city entirely before Jason and any other person returns.
There was a truck approaching them too in speed.
“Look!!”
The driver swerves the car to to the other side as it was a near crash.
“Ouch!!” Roseanna almost screams and they turn to her.
“She’s awake!!”
They quickly put their speedy car to a halt as the car makes a screeching sound.
“Are you okay?” The other guy who was not driving asks as she painfully nods.
He turns to the driver, “Let’s move out of here quickly, now that she is awake”
” W-he-re exactly are we going to?” Roseanna asks but she wasn’t given a reply.

Gloryland Hospital
“What actually happened?” Jason asks in rage about what he had just heard.
“We’re sorry sir, we couldn’t find her, we’ve searched the whole place but she is not in sight!” The security bowed at the doctor.
The doctor turns to Jason and sighs, “I guess they have taken her out of here, Jason. We’ve done our possible best… but… I think she… has been… abducted!!”
” What???” Diana gasps.
” H… how did it… happen?”
“I have no idea… They came as medical personnels and insisted on taking her to the laboratory to run her test” The doctor imparted.
” But we don’t…”
“Sir… We found this recorder outside the hospital besides a stretcher… And I guess it has something to do with the missing lady!” The securities said handing the recorder to the doctor who played it.
‘Hey darlings, looking for someone? Ohh… I see… You’re looking for Roseanna… Hmmm… Has she left the hospital already? Opps… She’s gone!! I mean gone!! Tut-tut-tut… Poor Rosie. Don’t bother looking for her because it’s gonna be a futile effort… I swe@r you’ll never find her!!!’
And then the recorder stops playing.
They gasps knowing who it was.
*St-ar-let!!”
Jason could no longer take it, he pursed his lips tightly with his eyebrows furrowed causing vertical wrinkles on his forehead.
He let out a hot breathe from his lips as he stands up.
“Get the police informed about this… She must be searched everywhere and be found before dusk!!”
He walks out of the office.
Lea immediately took out her phone, she calls the police since she knew a lot of them.
“Oh dear Rosie…”

On The Road
” Where exactly are you taking me to?” Roseanna asks after being quiet for sometime.
Now, she wasn’t familiar with where she was and she was beginning to be suspicious of them.
“Where am I taken to?” She asks again.
“Out of the city ma’am!”
“What?”
“Yeah… Entirely out of the city… Jason has instructed that he doesn’t wanna see you again… He is done with you!!” The other guy said smiling smugly.
” No!! It’s not true… Everything was getting better already as… as… I was at the cell… The Truth was being told to him but I fell unconscious and… and…”
” And what? He only got you to the hospital due to your condition and the care you required at that point… And he said once you’re awake he wants you out of there and out of his life!!”
” No!! My Jason wouldn’t do that!!” Roseanna said sobbing.
” Well he did…!”

Starlet House
Starlet drives into her house after going to the grocery store in a happy mood. She packs her car, alighting from it, she heads towards her house.
Jason not long ago, too was at her house under a shaded tree patiently waiting for her. And seeing her walking towards her house, quickly stood up and walked to her.
Starlet is shocked seeing him in her home but smiles when she remembers the reason.
“How did you get into my house uh?… I mean who let you in?” She asks sardonically.
” How d@re you!!” Jason muttered with rage as he glared at Starlet who smiles smugly.
“What a-re you talking about?” She asks pretending like she knew nothing.
“Where is Roseanna?” Jason perused with anger written all over his face.
“Ro..sea..nna?… I mean your Rosea…nna?” She scoffs.
” What happened to her?… Has she gone missing? Or I thought she was at the hospital?”
She walked closer to him and placed her hand on his shoulder.
“What happened to her… Tell me… What is wrong?” She questions mockingly pouting her lips.
Instead of a reply, Jason raised his hand and landed three hot slaps on her both cheeks.
“Enough of your silly drama Starlet… Enough!! How could you stoop so low to do this? You couldn’t even consider her being in the hospital nor her state of pregnancy…!”
Starlet held her cheek in shock as the slap came unknowingly to her. She glares at Jason.
“Why would I… Why would I care about Roseanna!! She is nothing but a golddigger…”
Then another slap came through, interrupting her sentence.
“You’re such a dèvil, Starlet!… You’re evîl!!… Don’t you d@re call my Roseanna a golddigger!!!” He lashes out, squinting his eyes in fury as he breathe through his teeth.
“If Roseanna doesn’t get found before the next three days… I swe@r Starlet… You’re gonna pay for it!! Just watch and see!!! He said as chöcking her on the throat, almost str@ngling her.
Starlet gasps, slack jawed, “Let me breath… Jason you’re kïlling me!!” She said trying to slap off his hands from her throat but couldn’t.
“If I don’t find Roseanna… I will do to you… A lot worse than this!!” He muttered and releases his grip from her throat.
“Ouch!!” Starlet held her throat, coughing. She looks up to see him but he had left.
She touch her neck still coughing but smiles.
“Do you know how long I wanted you to touch me Jason? You did but you were kinda rough!! Ouch!!!” She held her neck and walks into her house.
She drops her grocery shopping inside and comes out to the sitting room.
Taking the tv remote, she switched it on.
‘Miss Roseanna Gavin has been found missing and @bducted at the hospital exactly around 10am in the morning. If anyone knows anything about it or where she is… Should come over to the Police Station and give a report, such person who would be given a sum of $100,000’
The news stated showing some pictures of Roseanna for better clarification.
Starlet who was watching the news smiles as she switched to another channel.
“You may search for her everywhere but you won’t find her…” She paused and touch her face and neck.
“And for what Jason had done to me… You may experience a little torture Roseanna…!”
She said and laughs, she switched off the television when all channels were showing Roseanna.
“See you later, Rosie…” She stood up and walked to her room.

On The Road
The drive was a long quiet one as Roseanna couldn’t say anything again, she had just woken up from sleep.
The news was being heard on the radio as Roseanna was shocked.
“Who are you… And where am I?” She asked with a squinted eyes gaze.
” Out of the city” They replied.
“Why did you take me out from where I was?” She asked them still not wanting to believe what they had said earlier.
“It’s for your own good, Roseanna… It wouldn’t be good if you stay in there for much longer as Jason doesn’t want to see you… But don’t be scared… We mean no harm!!” The guy said raising his hand up.
Tears pooled up in Roseanna’s eyes but she couldn’t do anything, so Jason really didn’t like her again and now he doesn’t want to see her nor his child. Even after all the explanation, yet he still didn’t believe anything.
She let the tears roll down her cheeks while she shut her eyes.
Soon they arrived at a building in a look of a bungalow fully decorated which reduced the suspicion of Roseanna as really they meant no harm considering her pregnancy, going against Starlet order

The police searched everywhere but finds no trace of Roseanna in the city. From days to weeks… It’s more than a month now and yet she wasn’t found.
*****
Starlet has decided to finally visit where Roseanna was. She had let her had peace for a while.
“I had given you enough time, Roseanna… Now I guess you’re more advanced in pregnancy… I’m coming to meet you Jason’s darling… I’m really coming to see you again… It’s gonna be a surprise visit…”
