Episode 8

Kiki, Mayowa’s wife went seeking for financial help from family and friends.

She was doing all she can to bail her husband from police cell.
He had been in police custody for over a month.

Almost everyone she went to for help had one story to give her on why they can’t help her.
Is either they are having financial difficulty or already budgeted for the money and can’t spare anything for her.

Even the people that were living large and traveling abroad like is their backyard couldn’t help.
After several promises they will fail at the dying minutes.

Some of them were even gossiping that when Kiki was enjoying the stollen fund that her husband was bringing home she never remembered anybody but now that the are in trouble they suddenly remember the address of their friends house to come for help.
Some even said Kiki coming to borrow huge amount from them does she thinks they grow money on trees.

Some of her friends went gossiping with her and her husband name.
While some sympathize with her in her presence but behind her back they laugh.
Saying, “, I thought she is mother Jesus, Mrs perfect with no stain, now look at how she has fallen. Her husband is even into fraud, stealing company’s fund and they were enjoying and living like they will never be caught. God finally exposed them… even all her act of perfection was only a pretence to cover up…”

Some of this things flew into Kiki’s ears. She heard and knew almost everything said about her and her husband but it never weakened her Faith.
She regretted going to seek help were she doesn’t supposed to.

Despite all of this, she had sincere people who assisted her with the little they can.

one thing she was certain is that God will never leave nor forsake them.
It can only take time but one day her husband will be vindicated.

She did not stop praying for God’s intervention, she cried to God most nights with her worries.
Her pillow was soaked with her own tears.
Kiki remained steadfast in the Lord and never for ones give up or loose faith.

She spoke to her pastor who also Promise to continue interceding for them in prayers.

The pastor told Kiki that he doesn’t have upto the required amount which was in millions but he can atleast spare about three hundred thousand from the little he had saved up in renovating the church building.
Kiki was grateful as the pastor transferred the money to her.

Getting home, she calculated all the money with her and it was about a million.
The MD has insisted that he won’t collect anything less than 3million.
It was far much more than the money spent but he was only asking for three million.
She may probably sell some of their properties to be able to raise more money.
If she can get upto two million she will take it to them and go on her knees to plead for them to accept the money like that.
She hopes that God will touch their hearts and make them consider and release her husband.

Almost ten million was missing after another round of investigation was carried out.
What baffles them is that Mayowa does not have any other bank account aside the two bank accounts Known to the company which he had little money that he manages with his family.
One was a salary account and the other was his personal account.
When they tracked the wh0le money that had gone in and out of the two accounts nothing was out of the ordinary.

They also carried out investigation on the wife and she was clean.

They tried to track down any other account in mayowa’s name or the wife but nothing was found.

They questioned the accountants that Mayowa reports to directly and asked them to say only the truth of what they know and they all account that Mayowa have never defaulted.
He was one of the first to remit cash in his care which goes in line with the invoices.
They were quiet surprised when his record at the dying minutes during the time that the auditor was checking all the managers and accountants records and found only his own with fault.

The investigation continues as they started tracking down the invoice numbers and who it belongs to and how it was in Mayowa’s custody.

The MD implored the help of other learned auditors and accountants to investigate the wh0le account records again

Something was looking fishy and the more they dig the more they found no past bad account in mayowa’s name.
But what they did find that was confusing is some of kunle’s past records which they were able to dig up was looking fraudulent.
It seems unbelievable because the wh0le invoices he recently summited were clean.

In the meantime the MD asked that Mayowa should be released and stay in his house until the wh0le findings is over.

Mayowa’s wife who had been able to gather upto a million and half presented it to the MD pleadingly and he asked her to keep it first until the investigation is over.
He told her that the money was over ten million missing and if after everything and it still traced down to her husband he will either have to pay the money or be locked up for good this time.

But looking at the wh0le findings nothing illegal was trace to Mayowa’s name.
more revealing things were coming out to the open.
Mayowa actually had a very clean record than the rest.
Only where his account was looking faulty was the old invoices in his care that was all shed of wrongs.
But checking the invoice numbers and receipts it ended up to be more of Kunle’s and not Mayowa’s like it was initially believed.

The MD still couldn’t believe what they were finding but he was more determined than before to get to the root of everything.
