Episode 6

That night, Kim, her sisters and their Father couldn’t sleep. About 10 people (5 males and 5 females) dressed in red and covered in blood with drums were singing and dancing round the compound.
Kim and her sisters ran into their Father’s room as fear engulfed them.
Mazi too was scared because he also heard the drumming, singing and dancing and had peeped from his window down stairs to see disgusting creatures dancing.

“Dad am so scared right now”Christabel cried and held unto him.

“Let’s pray”Kim suggested

“Will you shut up? Pray over what? When your mother was in the labour room, I prayed and begged him to spare her life after the Doctor told me she was between life and death. God did not answer me so why would he do that now?”Mazi snapped

“Dad this is not a time to argue. Or do you have any other solution to this?”Kim asked

“Don’t just pray. It infuriates me, we’ll stick together and by morning, I’ll know what to do.”He said

Christabel and Annabel were already crying.
Kim sighed in resignation.
Soon, the singing and drumming started coming closer and they realised the creatures were coming upstairs for them.

“Dad! They’re coming here..”Annabel cried holding on to her Father tightly..
Before they could speak, the door busted open and the strange people enteried still drumming and dancing.
Now, Kim, Christabel and Annabel were on top of the bed holding their Father tightly. Mazi was already sweating profusely even with the heavy AC in the room.

“Jesus Christ of Nazareth! You asked us to call upon you when we are in trouble and you will answer us.. Daddy am calling on you now!!”Kim cried out loudly ignoring her Father’s previous warning.

The strange people had stopped drumming and angrily looking at Kim.
The Leader came forward and grabbed her by the hair dragging her down the bed.
Mazi and the other girls couldn’t do anything.

“Jesus! Jesus!! Jesus Christ!! It’s you am calling.. Sweet Jesus!!”Kim scre-med with all her might.
This seemed to have effect on the creatures as the one holding her released her and the others looked at each other in confusion.
Mazi, Christabel and Annabel noticed this and started scre-ming Jesus! Jesus!!
The creatures began to stagger and finally vanished…

Williams woke up and discovered he was still in Presh’s house. His brain immediately reminded him of what had happened.
He stood up in panick and headed for the door trying to open it but realized it was lock.
He got really scared. He couldn’t find Presh in the house and wondered how she could have left him in such a situation. He wished he never formed “Power Mike” even after Presh had warned him not to come here.

Suddenly, a cold hand touched him and he turned around to see a man in red with burnt face and long dirty nails staring at him.
Williams knelt down and started pleading “Please don’t kill me. I beg you in the name of anything you hold sacred.. Please have mercy on me. I swear with my life, I will never ever step foot into this house again..”He kept pleading and promising while the strange Man looked at him speechlessly.
Then he smiled broadly and brought out his axe. Seeing this, Williams started pleading the more.. “Have mercy on me.. I beg you”He cried.
He swiftly made to run upstairs at least to save himself but too bad, the strange man raised up his axe and beheaded him!

Presh was crying as she narrated everything to her father.
“For Heaven’s sake, how would you go back to that house after everything that happened this morning? don’t you like your life?”Nworah scre-med for the first time in a long time. He was usually this very quiet man but recently, life has dealt him a heavy blow..

“I’m sorry Dad.. I just..”
Nworah interrupted her “It’s not a matter of being sorry. What could have happened to Williams? According to you, he fainted and you managed to escape.. Do you know if he must have been killed?”

Presh cried all the more as she thought about the possibility of Williams being killed.

“Sis it’s okay.. I’m sure he’ll be fine”Kaylan consoled her..

“Dad don’t you think we should call Brother David to come back home?”Kaylan asked

“You’re out of your senses!”Nworah scre-med.
both Presh and Kaylan flinched in shock. they had never heard their father scre-m before.
“You want him to come here and be killed? Neverrr.. Matter-of-fact, we’re all flying abroad, out of this d–n country!!”He shouted

“We should travel out and what will happen to Mom’s corpse?”Presh asked in shock

“I’m calling the Hospital right now to go and care of it”He replied

“I don’t think they will come considering what happened back there”Presh said

Nworah reasoned and knew it was true. He sat down and palmed his face.

“I think I know what to do”Kaylan said and all eyes turned towards her
“A classmate of mine says his Dad works in a mortuary and boasts of how his father was able to handle stubborn spirits and all that..”

“So?”Nworah asked nervously

“I’ll call him now and we can get his father’s contact and we’ll start from there”Kaylan said. coolval stories

They nodded and she picked up her phone which Presh had brought and scrolled to find the classmate’s number.

Pastor Taiwo hurriedly dressed for service that evening. He hadn’t even opened the Bible to know what to preach but anyhow, he knew he wouldn’t fumble.
His wife Mercy came in dressed up.
“Darling, please eat a little before we leave nau”She said

“I don’t feel like. Where is Desire?” Desire is the name of their little daughter.

“She’s in her room. I’ve dressed her up already”Mercy replied

“OK.. Let’s get going. We’re almost late”Taiwo hurried as he grabbed his Bible and made to leave.

“ehen! I wanted asking.. I’ve not seen Jahshield for a while now. hope he’s okay”

The question pricked Pastor Taiwo. He knew sooner or later, he’d be asked questions about his P.A.

“Don’t mind that boy. He’s so unserious these days.. He said he needed to visit his family in the next town but since then, I haven’t seen or heard from him”Taiwo said

“Hmmm. I don’t know Jahshield to be like that but it’s well”She said and walked outside the room.
Taiwo heaved a sigh of relief and followed thus.
