” Better start the story because am curious ” I said and she paused the laughter gently

“Here it is ma’am” The bar attendant said dropping the two bottles of Coca-Cola in the table in front of us

“Thank You ” Bella said and He left

“Am still waiting! ” I said drawing Bella’s attention to the story she was about to tell me before The bar attendant showed up

“I came her as usual looking for new catch. You know what am taking about? Bella asked and I nodded

“I saw this cute rich guy sitting in front on me though in another table. He looked so rich so so I approched him first hoping to make cool cash that night. That’s how I changed babe. The young man talked my soul down. He gave me alot of advice regarding the way I live my life. He also gave me money that night without touching me

We became friends from that very say and by God’s grace he is the one taking me to the alter ” Bella said and smiled

We discussed at length. All through the discussion I was not concentrating . I felt like the bad egg now. I was even shamed of myself because what I wore was not just nice. It was as if I was n****d.

I was relaxing in the sitting room. I was a bit stressed out for it wasn’t long I came back from work.

The television was on though I was not putting much interest in it. Dad and mum where the only ones at home. It surprised me seeing Dad at home by that time of the day.

I went to the kitchen to find something for my stomach coz I haven’t eaten anything Since I came back. I didn’t also eat anything in the office. The work my boss packed up for me made me loose appetite because I needed enough time to complete it and going outside to but food will take me alot of time

“Why is it that Angela will spend the whole day at home without doing anything reasonable?? ”
I stormed out of the kitchen ready to tear angela apart if I get to see her
To my surprise the pot was empty. What is the meaning of all this?

I stormed out shouting on top of my voice. I checked Angela’s room and to my disappointment it was locked. It was obvious that she went out. I became angry the more
I went back to the sitting room to collect more from my bag so as to buy something to eat for I was not ready to cook.

Entering the sitting room I met Frank sitting patiently.

“Sweetheart ” He called out immediately he saw me
“What are you doing here hun? You didn’t even tell me you are coming” I said and stretched out my hand to give him a hug

“I came to see your dad ” He replied and we both sat down almost the same time

” To see my dad? What for? I asked looking surprise

“I came to collect list for the bride price ” He said and I smiled

“Awwn. In that case. Let me go and call him for you ” I said and made to leave
” No the gate man already did that ” He said holding my left hand in an attempt to draw me backwards

“Oh then . What can I offer you while you wait for daddy ” I asked smiling.
“Nothing am ok ” He replied smiling back

“I insist ” I said and left to get him bottle of soft drink

I saw dad already discussing with him when I came back with the drink. I dropped the drink in the table in front of him and sat beside him

“Jenny are you with your phone there? ” Dad asked

“Yes dad” I replied wondering why he asked

“Call Angela for me. I sent her to photo copy the bride price list. I dnt know what is keeping her waiting” Dad ordered

I tried calling Angela but I didn’t have sufficient Airtime to make any call. I told dad knowing fully well he will insult me

“Dad I dnt think I have airtime ‘ I said facing down for I was a little bit embarrassed

” Shame on you Big girl for nothing ” Dad said and Frank laughed

“Honey can I use yours? I said referring to Frank

” Shut up. Do no disturb my Inlaw. Go get mine inside” Dad replied making me laugh

“No it’s ok she can use mine” Frank replied smiling

I copied out Angela’s number from my phone and dialed it on Franks phone

Immediately the name “CHEAP BAR GIRL” Appeared on the screen

“Ooh shit ! ” I said in shock attracting Franks attention

“What’s that bby? ” He asked looking at the phone screen to know why I shouted

I could see the guilty look on his face immediately he saw it. Baby I can explain he whispered

“What’s the problem” Dad asked looking at us

Why on earth will my sisters number be saved on his phone and why was it saved with CHEAP BAR GIRL?

I fresh anger and confusion grew in me as I tried to connect Angela’s number without progress

I left dad and frank behind and went to my room immediately feeling a mixture of anger and confusion

I raced to the gate knowing I was already late forgot the errand dad sent me and he will be waiting for me. I jumped the stairs instead of climbing. I wasn’t ready for dad yelling because I knew he will definitely do that

I had a very good reason for not coming back with the bride price list on time but dad won’t let me talk. He will just shut me up with yelling. He was just like that

I entered the sitting room with speed and saw dad discussing with Frank. I was breathing heavily due to the fact that I raced in. I reduced my speed to at least breath normally afterall no matter what I do, I will still receive the yelling

“Angela what kept you waiting” Dad asked immediately he saw me and that also attracted Franks attention to me

“Dad see it took me up…

” Shut up. You kept my visitor waiting for almost one hour and you still have the guts to talk” Dad said raising his voice

I bent down in shame. I was greatly embarrassed. Dad should have waited for Frank to leave before yelling at me.

I sluggishly left when dad seemed to have finished with his yelling exercise. While I was leaving Franks eyes all over me and I wondered why ❓

Come to think of it. Where is Jenny?? Isn’t she supposed to be beside her fiance. I was sure she was back from work because I saw the clothes she left with spread outside when I was coming in

I decided to go to her room and inform her that her fiance is in the building because I thought maybe she wasn’t Informed

I knocked on her door and got a response almost immediately

“Jenny are you aware Frank is in the sitting room with Dad? I asked innocently

“Yeah I didn’t see you there so I thought maybe you didn’t know of his presence” I said looking more innocent than ever

“Ok but maybe you should go and stay with him instead ” She said and that left me confused

“Stay with him?? You must be joking. How can I stay with your fiance when you are not dead ” I said smiling

“Oh my Fiance? So you really know his my fiance? ” Jenny asked and this got me more confused

“Yeah who doesn’t know he is your fiance? Frank being your fiance is a clear fact. Why the crazy question? ” I asked looking at her wondering why she looked so serious

“You know he is my fiance and yet you still flirt with him?” Jenny said and my mouth dropped open in awe

I paused for some seconds before I continued

“Flirt with him?? Jenny what the F**k are you taking about?” I asked looking serious now

“Ooh you are pretending you don’t know . Ok you tell me why your name was saved as ” CHEAP BAR GIRL” On his phone? Jenny said raising her voice

“cheap bar girl? Jenny can you just calm down and explain things to me because you confusing me the more ” I said putting on an innocent face

“Maybe Frank will be the one to do the explanation ” Jenny said and bust out of the room while I followed her behind almost running behind she was walking with great pace

“Jenny cN you just stop what you are doing right now because it’s no longer funny” I managed to say but Jenny ignored me

She was heading to the sitting room and I knew a bomb was about explode

” Jenny just stop I beg you in the name of God ” I said almost crying but she still ignored me

We entered the sitting room almost the same time and saw it empty. Dad was already in his room and Frank who I knew Jenny was going to meet was already gone

I could see the disappointment written all over Jenny’s face as she turned to go back to her room

I tried stopping her but she slightly pushed me out of her way . She entered her room and locked the door leaving me out side.

I stayed outside knocking and begging her to at least hear me out

I went home not feeling comfortable. I knew there was a silent war that might turn big and cause damages

I really fucked up . Why on earth did I forget to delete Angela’s number or at least remove the name I saved it with

Oh God! What am I gonna do now? How on earth do I explain that shit to her? Oh God am going crazy!

I picked up my phone and called my friend Mike. Mike was one person I ran to when ever I needed advice and he never disappointed

📲 why dnt you tell her that it was you Friends SIM card that was on your phone then. And when she she ask why tell her my phone spoilt and I wanted to make and important call. Tell her I left the sim card on your phone because of was still expecting an important message .

Jenny did not pick up immediately but I didn’t give up. I was determined to talk to her that day before things get worse. I sent her countless message but didn’t get any reply

It was the 10th time I was calling Jenny’s number but she still did not pick up. I started feel bad . I didn’t know things have gone this bad. To the extent of Jenny snubbing my calls. Oh God! What a costly mistake

I was in my sitting room pondering on what exactly to do. Right in front of me where two bottles of alcoholic drink in which one of the bottles have gone half way. I loved Jenny go much and loosing her was the last thing I could ever think of

I could still remember the day I met her. It was on a Saturday when I went to meet a friend of mine in his office where Jenny worked as a receptionist. Her first approach was class and I couldn’t just go without asking for her number which took me days of constant visit to the office before I got it.

She was just the kind of woman I will love to have in my life. That is why loosing her will hurt me dearly

I stood staggering as walk. I was already drunk and it was obvious judging from the way I worked . I staggered to my room, got the key to my car and set out to Mike’s house. I needed someone to talk to and Mike was the only person I could go to in situations like this .

” Madam one of your relation had an accident ” The caller said and I was shocked

” Had an accident ? But my name is not joy ” I said looking surprised

” Your name was saved as joy in his phone ma” The caller said putting me in more confusion

“His phone? And what is the name of the accident victim” I asked trying to place my mind on who the victim was

” From the ID card I saw in his wallet. His name is ” FRANK OKONKWO”

“Frank?” I shouted in surprise. That was when I remembered that Frank saved my name as “My Joy” On his phone

” What happened? Where is he now? ” I asked rushing out of my room

“He is been rushed to St Michael’s hospital” The caller said and hung up the call

I rushed out my room immediately and made to leave the house. The shock that enveloped me still haven’t left me. Tears where dropping down my eyes slowly

“What is it Jenny ” Angela asked seeing the way I was rushing out

” Frank had an accident ” I managed to say and left the gate immediately followed my Angela
