Chapter Six: VERDUN ARRIVAL
the door open revealing Knox once again but instead of hurting me he took me to a nice room, put nice dress on me before taking me to a little room where food are served, are they trying to poison me?? ” eat ” Knox voice fill with anger, averting my gaze from him I look at the food, my tummy grumble but I shake my head
” is the food poisoned??” I asked looking up at Knox, he furrow his brows looking so pissed off, pulling a seat out he sit then glare at me ” how to you know Verdun??”
” Verdun??” I mumble, my gaze lower to the food, where did I hear that name from, I look at the necklace then it ring, that strange man I healed ” I met him in a forest ” looking up at Knox he look confused
” what was he doing there, why is he so focus on helping ”
” he wants to help me??” I mumble which only made Knox more pissed
” stop repeating my words and answer my damn questions ” ignoring him I remain still, is that Verdun coming to save me?? Will he get me out of this mess, will I be able to escape this hell ” don’t think that because he is coming for you I will him get you. eventually you will be mine”
My gaze move to Knox, he look so angry and I don’t know why ” why will I be yours??” I asked confused
” you are still with my life force Betty” I blink when he call my name, how did he know my name ” that witch might have done something to you but when you clock eighteen your true scent will be out and trust me, I will get you that is if you escape from what’s about to happen ” he stand to his feet ” time to go ”
” go???”
” yes, you are getting out of here today ” holding my hand tight he pull me out of the dining room, out of the huge building, we keep on moving towards a forest ” you are free to run”
Turning around I look at him, his smile widen ” why are you looking at me, do you like it here that you wish not to flee anymore ” shaking my head he let go of hands, if he want my life force that badly why will he want me to leave?? ” go ahead and get out of my sight ” stepping away from him I look at the forest, it look Scarry
Shaking my head I run away from him, away from their torment and far away from that building
Verdun walk into the huge building where Deccan usually keep his victims ” didn’t expect you to be here Verdun ” deccan step out of the building, anger and hatred could be seen in those red eyes, ignoring him I walk pass him into the building, my eyes roam round the whole place, cells with different creatures are all over the place but that little girl isn’t in any of them
” where is she ??” Turning around I look at deccan, a smile form in his lips ” you of all people very well know I hate repeating myself ”
” you are in my territory Verdun ” deccan growl ” am not one of your push boys you can order around ”
” you might become one if you keep delaying me ” I frown making him step back but I could still see stubbornness in those eyes of his, he is stalling me but why?? Is not like he can lay a finger on my skin
” why are you so interested in helping this dream walker??” This time curiosity could be seen in his eyes ” is they something special about this little girl I don’t know about ”
” if they is will I mention it to someone like you” growling I was getting inpatient and angry at this suspense ” where is the damn girl ”
” she escaped” Deccan mumble ” we don’t know how but she run away from us ”
” nonsense ” I growl ” the security in this building is so fucking tight that a little girl can’t run off, looking at Deccan he shrug looking undisturbed ” where did she run to ”
” the dark forest ” his lips widen with smile ” little girls don’t think, once they see an opportunity they take it and run not knowing they that where they left is far better ”
My first instinct is to pull his throat out of his body but I do not feel like staining my hands today ” alpha should we check out the dark forest ” Edward asked but I remain still, my gaze fixed on deccan, he swallow, sweat forming on his forehead
” do you dare lie to me Deccan?? ” I step closer to him and five vampires appear behind him, he lift his hands up stopping them from doing anything
” don’t think am foolish Verdun ” he frown ” I very well know you can murder us all so why will I do something to get on your bad side??”
” you pretty well that the dark forest is a place fill with ghouls ” I groan ” ghouls that won’t think twice of hurting her, the amethyst on her neck might prevent them from killing her but that doesn’t mean they can’t hurt her ”
” why should I give a fuck about a little child ” he sound angry ” she can die for all I care and I never knew she belong to you if I did I would have never kept her here long enough for her to escape”
I watch my finger elongate before striking his face with it, blood flow down as he step back stopping his men from attacking me ” that scar will teach you not to touch who ever is under my wings” his gaze met mine, his hatred seem to have grown even more ” let’s go ” mumbling to my beta and omega we step out of the building towards the dark forest, sniffing the air I frown
She really did run into the dark Forest ” what do we do now alpha” hearing Nolan voice I remain still ” those ghouls will try anything to have her life force, everyone knows how a dream walker life force work in other creatures body ”
” she might be dead ” Edward mumble ” a little girl like her can’t survive in such a place ”
” like I said, I hate owing people” frowning I look at them ” I won’t stop searching for her unless I have a prove she is dead and out of this world ”
” if that happens it means you never repay your debt ” Nolan gasp and I nod
” and we don’t want that happening do we??” They both shake their ” grab our horse, we are heading into the dark forest ”

Chapter Seven : WHERE YOU BELONG
Betty stop running after she is certain that Knox won’t be able to change his mind about her running away, trying to balance her breath she look round the whole trees, the trees looks awful, no flowers on them, just dried up and sad.
” what happened to you ” moving towards it I place my hands on the tree, mama said as dream walkers we can feel what other people can’t, how trees feel and this one is really sad.
A tear drop from my eyes, it feels sad, they are not happy here ” sorry ” looking up at the tree I smile ” you will be okay ” retreating my hands I walk away, cold air swirl around my body, the place is becoming more Scarry as night approaches.
Its so dark that I could barely see a thing, am starting to hate the dark, hearing a strange sound I turn and look at my side but nothing is there, more like I can’t see a thing.
Fear grip me tight, if only I know where the creature is, I would know where to run to ” are you a dream walker??” Hearing the voice I stop, what mama said was right, always hide being a dream walker, most creatures will want you dead if they find out.
” no” my voice came out shaken ” am human ”
” she doesn’t smell like a dream walker ” this time a voice mumble from my right ” we should just eat her and have it done with” I pray silently for some sort of light, so that I could see them and as if God knew I was in trouble the moon shine bright and my eyes land on the one at my left side.
Four eyes, two at the top and two below, long eyes and hideous body, they look like the worst nightmare anyone could ever want ” she sees us” the creature frown ” even when we are invisible she sees us, how can a normal human do that ”
” she is wearing a amethyst ” the one at my right gasp ” who gave her such a precious stone, I want it ” my hands unconsciously move to my necklace and before they could think twice I start running, their foot sound wasn’t far behind, they keep chuckling like this is a fun game which is not.
I just want a simple life
Missing a step I fall down and roll downwards before hitting my head on a tree but not too hard to lose consciousness ” she fell” they giggle drawing closer as I use my last strength to stand and continue running forward
I thought I did but when I stop at the end of the road I look down at the cliff, water flowing below ” end of the road little one ” hearing their voice I turn and look at them ” give us that stone you’re wearing ”
” no” i mumble knowing fully well if I give it to them, they will kill me but when my move my hands to touch it my eyes widen knowing is no longer on my neck, the creatures eyes move to my neck and the smirk
Watching them move closer I made a huge mistake in stepping back and falling, falling deep into the water, am not a good swimmer I can’t hold my breath for a long time so when I immersed into the water my head hitting a stone I lose consciousness.
Stepping down from his horse Verdun eyes roam around the whole forest, she was here, her scent is everywhere and that of two ghouls, following her scent Verdun bend down, a frown creep slowly to his face ” what’s the problem alpha ” Edward voice worried, lifting the amethyst up I frown ” does that mean??”
” yes” my voice came out rough ” she is dead” moving towards a cliff I close my eyes, I failed to protect yet another person in my life, throwing the amethyst away i turn around ” let’s head back to bligor, I have better things to attend to ”
” of course alpha” Nolan nod
The scent of hot Lipton tea caught my nose, opening my eyes I tried to recognize where I am but nothing seem to be right, the ceiling white in colour, my gaze move to my left a huge cupboard, closed and locked. Turning my head to my right an elderly woman is looking at me, she look happy, her eyes brown and long red hair tied in a ponytail
” you’re awake??” She move to my direction touching my forehead ” does it hurt??” I shake my head gently as tears flow down ” what’s the problem my dear??”
” my mama and papa was murdered” I cried ” am alone now” she pull my head to her chest while I cry my heart out, I don’t know who this woman is but I feel safe in her arms
” this is where you belong now ” she rob my back gently ” you will stay with us safe, okay ” I nod my gaze move to the door, a girl my age standing there, her hair red but black eyes ” Elinor, come and say hello to your new sister ”
She rush towards me and hug me ” she is really my sister?? I always wanted a sister mummy”
” that is if she wants to stay with us ” a man voice echo as he step in and hug who should be his wife ” you have been asleep for a week now and we decided to keep you ” he bend down and smile at me ” here” I watch him hand me my necklace ” I believe is yours, found it in the water the day I found you ”
I guess this necklace don’t wish to part ways with me ” thank you Sir ” I mumble collecting it and putting it on
” you can call him daddy now ” Elinor smile ” you’re now one of us and when you feel free you can tell us what happened ” a smile come to my lips, I know am going to start my life all over again, I just hope nothing goes wrong
I nod my head then clean my tears ” thank you ” this is just the beginning of my story

Chapter Eight : TAKING HER PLACE
Eight years later
” hurry up Betty, you don’t want him spotting us” Elinor whisper while I hurry in the painting of Gondor as he bath in the river, his long blond hair lose down, red eyes fill with things that don’t necessary interest us then those abs, those abs that will give us money soon. Dropping the last dot on the paint I set it aside
” let me take a peek too ” I pull Elinor down before looking at him ” he is so hot” we both nod our head and giggle silently, our eyes remain glue to him, I still do not get why this man love bathing in the river
Jamie one of the noble daughters have asked for his shirtless painting and will pay a good amount of money for it and lucky for her we have been coming here…yes you heard right, me and my sister are two pervert that love seeing Gondor bathing, this happens to be the tenth time ” do you think I can marry lord Norman after all what I have seen” Elinor gasp while licking her lips
” of course you can unless you want me to steal him ” I joke and she clasp her hands together in a pleading form
” please do ”
” who is there ” the moment we heard Gondor voice we bend down completely, heart beating widely ” we got to go ” gathering the paint and my brush we count to three then run” don’t look back, he will see your face ”
” I know” Elinor yell back
” we are sorry, you’re just too hot” I giggle after yelling for him to hear
Arriving back in the village we try to catch our breath, placing my hand on my knee I gasp loudly ” we were almost….” Before I could complete my sentence mama move and grab us by the ear
” ouch!!”
” you two block heads will never listen ” she growl drawing us to the house ” what were you two doing dress like men, how will you get married ” she yell at my face and I lower my gaze ” and you Elinor, you are already betrothed to lord Norman. If he sees you dress like a man he might change his mind ”
” but mama….”
” don’t mama me!!” She yell and I shut it, watching her rob her face gently I know she is stressed over everything that is happening, Elinor engagement in two days time, our eighteen birthday which is tomorrow.
Turns out Elinor and I were born the same day, year and we basically share things together ” sorry mama” we both apologize before running upstairs to our room, sitting on the bed I drop the panting down then sigh ” I guess I will miss you Elinor ”
My gaze travel to her, she look kind of sad ” what’s wrong ” I turn her face to my direction ” why are you crying ???”
” is it so wrong that I don’t want to get married to lord Norman ” she sniff ” what if he is a lord, I do not wish to be with him, you know very well that I do not want to get married at this age….I want to travel the world you know, see people, fall in love ”
Smiling I clean her tears ” look at me Elinor ” she turn to my direction ” I will take your place ”
” what?? How”
” I don’t really care about marriage Elinor, all my life you know I have been training and fighting to avenge my parent death some day ” she nod and I purred ” being a lord wife will help me in finding them, will give me a little power ”
” you will do this for me??” She look a little sad ” I don’t want you to do something that you will regret Betty” I smile, Elinor believe love exist, she believe everyone has a perfect half waiting and I don’t disagree with that, maybe I can grow to like this lord Norman
” is okay Elinor, I know what am doing” I chuckle ” you will bow to me someday ” we laugh then she shake her head at me
” thank you Betty ” pulling me in for a hug she mumble ” I don’t know how to repay you for everything, I owe you big time and you won’t be able to paint naked men anymore” we laugh together before I shove her away
” it was your idea ”
” but you loved it ” she brought out her tongue and I giggle, we are two insane girls…suddenly the whole atmosphere got hot ” they is a mistake somewhere ” my gaze fill with curiosity meet Elinor’s ” you know lord Norman have no idea how I look” I nod and she purred ” mama seem to have send a file to him, with my pictures and name if he sees that then sees another person on his marriage ”
” oh”
” what do we do!” Elinor look confuse as I pace in the room, my head calculating what to do, Elinor has always been fragile and easy to push she won’t fit for what I have in mind
” when did mama send it ”
” this morning but it will arrive late at night because of how far bligor is from here ” moving to my drawer I pull out a file containing my picture and my name then my good luck necklace ” what are you doing ??” Elinor voice mix with fear and curiosity
” am going to bligor to change the file before he sees it then rush back before dawn to attend our birthday party which am sure lord Norman will attend ” he has to attend because he plan on marrying from this family
” how will you do that ” Elinor jump to her feet ” the whole place is heavily guarded and is a far distance”
” Elinor” I lean close to her ” you remember when I told you am a dream walker, I can jump a very high distance..trust me on this one” I lift my face high ” I will succeed ” she giggle playfully still not believing that am one ” I should hurry, cover up for me during dinner”
” oh and try not to meet alpha Verdun, he also reside there ” Elinor smile ” your everyday crush ”
” that was one time ” putting on the necklace I shake my head ” kissing his picture doesn’t mean I like him, he is handsome so what ”
” do you really want to take my place” Elinor still sound horrible ” you have liked Verdun since sixteen after seeing his picture, what if am putting you in a difficult situation ”
” Elinor, maybe I had a crush on him but that was years back, am going to he eighteen in few hours not sixteen, I have grown up and Verdun isn’t someone I like ” I growl ” his name just sound familiar and I like his blue eyes that doesn’t mean I can’t marry lord Norman ”
The marriage was meant to be mine from the very start, I heard Elinor’s parents discussing it, that I should get married first since the lord ask for a wife from here…I quickly step into their room and ask them not to pick me since Elinor is the better match, she look more queenly compare to me and I thought Elinor will be happy
I never knew she dislike the idea but now that I do, I plan on setting things straight ” wish me good luck ” putting on my face mask to hide my identity I jump through the window and hoping not to see alpha Verdun when I arrive
