CHAPTER NINETEEN : APPEARANCE OF MR DIEGO
Lily quickly snatch her hands from Lord Ruskin, her gaze travel round and fast, realizing that Lord Mammon is not in the ball yet, she quickly step back, shaking her head ” please milord, excuse me ”
” Lily!” Murmurs were starting to spread wide as I run from the ball like some Cinderella but who am I kidding, at the ending of Cinderella she end up with the prince.
In my story, am sure I will die after living a lonely life.
moving with speed I walk out of the ball, my heart won’t stop racing and my legs won’t stop taking me to a place I had no ideal of.
Looking around I smile the moment the exist gate came into view, more carriage seem to be coming in ” are you looking for a ride home miss ” my gaze move to the only carriage that is leaving the palace.
” Yes ”
” Come on in, I can give you a ride ” he mumble, I look around and sure that this is the only chance I have ” miss” my gaze move to the man, he has dark hair and black eyes, just like am average man.
Is he really going help me?
” Thank you ” I quickly step in and the carriage successfully left the palace, for the first time I stare at the view, the trees, the sky, the long road ahead.
” Which Lord is your father “the man asked ” you seem to be in a hurry, where should I drop you off ” I watch him lick his teeth after speaking.
” Oh, you can just drop me in town “‘
” Town you say” he smile giving me a glance of his fangs, if I remember correctly from the book I read, only vampires have such teeth.
” Or you can as well just drop me here ”
” I thought you said the town ” he sit properly, all his attention focused on me ” don’t you know the woods around this area are dangerous, you could get eaten ”
” Eaten?”
” Or blood drain ” he smile ” they is no telling what could happen to a beautiful girl like you ”
” Beautiful” I repeat his words not believing a single thing, Lord Mammon always called me an eyesore and now this strange man is telling me am beautiful.
” It seems like you doubt my words ” he gave a curious gaze ” is they a reason to miss ”
” Of course not…..”
He cut me off ” Mr Diego ” I watch him smile ” call me that ” I nod realizing he has no important title, maybe he is just a rich noble ” I know what you’re thinking, yes…..am someone who struggle for his wealth unlike Lord Mammon that enjoys his ancestors achievement not getting his ”
“I see ”
He exhale then smile ” what do I call you ”
” Huh ”
” Your name miss ”
If I say lily, he will probably recognize me as Lord Mammon young concubine and I don’t need such a thing ” they call me Lilian ”
” Lilian ” he smile ” it suits you ” maybe I was over thinking, I doubt he will try killing me but is the town this far from the palace, we have been moving in this empty road for hours.
” Where are we headed?”
” Oh” he smile ” my coachman seem to have forgotten to take us to the town, you can come to my place Lilian ” I watch him lick his fangs one more time ” I will treat you nice ”
” Am sorry Mr Diego ” I shake my head ” I have to pass that offer ”
” It wasn’t a offer Lilian ” I watch him lean close then smile, a coy smile”or should I call you lily ”
Lord Ruskin watch lily run away, his heart always bleed at that sight, why do she keep avoiding me, avoiding my touch, my feelings.
” Milord “my gaze move to princess Josephine, her grey eyes sparkle when she notice am staring at her but this, all these women don’t compare to lily, lily is everything I want, everything I need ” can I have this dance ”
” Forgive me princess Josephine but am running late ” I fake a smile ” I hope this won’t ruin your evening ”
” Absolutely not milord ” I notice the hurt in her eyes before I step out of the ball hall, my gaze catch lily entering a carriage and out of the palace but before I could move, Lord Mammon voice stopped me which made me to frown.
That bastard of a king.
” I asked you to leave by sunrise Ruskin, why are you still here ” he stop walking when he stand right at my front “‘ or is my eyes deceiving me ”
” It could be your eyes Lord Mammon ” I smile and he frown.
” Where is lily ”
” Why are you asking me that ” frowning I growl ” aren’t your eyes wide enough to keep on watching her every move ”
” Do not talk jokes with me Ruskin, you’re in my kingdom, my territory” he growl, looking really pissed ” I can have you dead if I wish it ”
” I do not have the answers you seek Lord Mammon ”
” I can see you tell lies Ruskin ” he mumble and I frown, damn this king, they always said he can notice the truth from ones eyes but I never believed it ” where is she ”
” Your biased ways has made her flee milord ” I smile as I notice anger and pain in his eyes ” she ran away, from this palace and you “‘
” That is not possible ”
” I saw it with my very eyes ” I smile ” I suppose that she hates being yours….looking for someone else to… ” before I could say more to him, baron his personal advisor rush to his side and whisper words I couldn’t hear, I watch his eyes w¡den from anger.
The news must have add fire to his already burning heart ” that bastard!!!” He growl while storming back into the ball, leaving me alone in this cold.
I should try finding lily before him, that will give me the upper hand in all these, I can not stay without her, she should just accept her fate…..if she didn’t have such beautiful face and smile then I might have not fall for her.
She made a monster like me love her and now plans on running away, not going to happen

CHAPTER TWENTY: LILY PREDICAMENT 1
Lily nod her head gently while Diego let go of her face, watching him relax on the chair I swallow deeply, the only thought in my head right now is to remain quiet, only foolish people act without thinking thoroughly.
One, he is a vampire, vampires run fast and will catch up with me no matter how far I run, even if it’s better to fight knowing you will die, I will like to calculate things through.
My gaze travel back to the road, I look ahead and realize we are moving close to a huge mansion ” isn’t it beautiful lily ” Diego smile ” that’s my place, where you will live from now on ”
” Live?”
” Of course” he stare at me ” you look like a doll I will like to keep, feed, bath, dress” I watch him lick his l-ips ” will like you to call me daddy ”
And that concludes it, Diego is a sick man ” say it lily ” he lean close ” call me daddy ”
” Am sorry, I don’t think it’s appropriate to …….” He cut me short with a slap on my cheek, I had to cough blood from the impact ” Diego ” his hands grab my neck as the carriage stop ” the only name you will call me is daddy….say it ”
” Da…..da…daddy ” I stammer and watch him relax, he smile then rob my neck before dragging me out of the carriage and into his mansion.
” You might think, you’re here because I hate mammon ” he mumble, reading my mind ” no sweetheart, you’re here because I need your blood, it’s one of a kind ” stopping in a huge living room, he point to his couch, indicating that I should sit which I did of course.
He move close to my direction, bend down and help me taking off my shoes, I watch him carefully, how he massage my foot gently ” your blood will give me the strength I need to defeat Lord Mammon”
” Am afraid I do not understand you ” I mumble carefully, my gaze not moving from his ” what’s in my blood ”
” Power sweet lily ” he lean close and rest his head on my neck ” the moment I saw you standing on the gate, I could smell it from you, power from God himself” what is he talking out, power from God? That’s just ridiculous.
I might have not known my mum for a very long time but the time I did know her, I realize she just a normal person, normal being ” I fear you are mistaken sir Diego ” I mumble and he lick my neck before shaking his head.
” Am definitely not lying” he smile ” Lord Mammon didn’t have a clue about what was in his hands…..he knew nothing and this surely will give me advantage here ” am starting to regret running from the palace.
Have Lord Mammon already notice my disappearance? Will he search for me? Save me from this mad vampire ” you must be hungry, allow daddy to prepare food for you ”
” Okay ” I mumble and watch him step into another door, releasing the air I had no idea I was holding in, I frown……if he keep saying he needs my blood, it means he won’t kill me, he will definitely not try to kill me.
Now that he is in the kitchen, I should think of a way out of here, my gaze move to the exist door and back to the door he step in, sounds of pot and plates caught my attention, he is really cooking.
Standing up I gently put on my shoes, tiptoe to the door and am out of the mansion, I didn’t stop running nor did I look back, looking ahead, I remember how long the road was from the mansion and running on the road will make it easier for me to be s₱0tted so I head into the forest.
I had to keep jumping branches, looking back I exhale when I realized that he isn’t behind me which means that he haven’t notice that I left.
Which is a good thing.
I stop smiling when I ran into someone, huge body, could it be be Diego? He finally caught up with me? ” Lily ” hearing that voice I step back then look up, Lord Ruskin smiling down at me and for some reason I felt safe and couldn’t help but to cry ” hey ”
” Forgive me milord ” sniffing I look at him ” I just keep getting into trouble ”
” Worry not lily ” he smile then hold my hand ” come with me, I know you wish to be away from the palace ”
” Milord?”
He drag me along with him ” stay with me, come to my kingdom, marry me lily and I promise to protect ”
” I fear I can’t not ”
” What do you mean ”
” I…….” He cut me off
” Do you fancy Lord Mammon”
” No!” I said it too quick that I myself doubt that answer ” I mean, am just his concubine ”
” Even concubines love their king ” I wanted arguing but as soon as I heard Diego voice fill with anger, I look at Lord Ruskin, he realizes the urgency in my eye” me or Lord Mammon”
” Huh”
” If you choose me I will save you right now but if you choose Lord Mammon, you will have to wait ” Diego voice draw closer and I quickly nod.
” I choose you ” the moment I said that, he pull me close and we vanish, I had no idea how he did that……am not to be blame, anyone in my situation would have done exactly what I did.
Lord Ruskin smile the moment they appear in his kingdom, his chamber to be precise, letting go of lily, he watch how she gasp then look around, her hair already scattered ” this is my chamber”
” Your kingdom?” I nod and she frown ” what are you?”
” A wizard lily ” smiling I sit on my bed and watch her wow reaction ” do you like it here?”
” Yes milord ” she smile, that smile that always made my heart skip ” this place suit you pretty well but I will prefer to be in the palace ”
I furrow my brows ” this is my palace ”
” But miss Clara, martin, Collin and others aren’t here “she mumble and I frown, getting angry and confused.
” You were the one that tried running ”
” That was a silly mistake of mine” she rush her words ” I do not feel comfortable around you Lord Ruskin ”
” But you feel around Lord Mammon”
She nod ” yes, I have been with him since I was a child ” standing up I move closer to her, I watch how she swallow, she look scared, scared I might hurt her which she is definitely right.
She do not wish to know what will happen if she don’t stop mumbling that bastard name ” I might love you lily ” wrapping my hands around her neck I frown ” but do not get me jealous…..it won’t be cute ”
