Brett pulled me up and balanced me on my feet.

I stood properly and looked at Kyle.

The look of confusion laid on his face as he stared at me.

“what’s happening here ” he asked, coming closer to us.

“Uhm I.. I wanted to fall down the stairs but Brett caught me ” I stuttered a little.

“oh my God! Did you hurt yourself? Are you alright ” he asked, examining my body.

“I’m fine, Brett saved me right in time” I said and he heaved a sigh of relief.

“thanks Brett ” he said.

Brett turned and walked away.

“thank God you didn’t hurt yourself, you’ve gat to be careful ” he scolded and I smiled.

“come, let’s go have breakfast “he said and took my hand.

He gently helped me walk down the stairs to the dinning.

We took our seat and ate.

After eating, I cleared the table.

“so since we ditched school today, what are we gonna do with today ” I asked as I sat beside Kyle.

“hello, I’m talking to you ” I said and waved my hand in front of him.

“oh! Me? What did you say ” he asked and I rolled my eyes.

“are you sure you’re alright? You’ve been weird these few days ” I said.

“I’m fine, you don’t have to worry your beautiful heart for me ” he sits and I scoffed.

“as if I care ” I said and rolled my eyes.

“oh now she wants to deny it ” he said and I laughed.

“are u really sure you’re okay ” I asked.

“yep ” he replied.

“really really sure?”

“yeah ”

“really really really sure ?”

“yes! ”

“are you really sure that you’re sure that you’re okay ” I asked and he sighed.

“I’m okay ”

“are you really really sure that you’re really really sure that you’re sure that you’re okay ” I asked, trying to suppress my laughter.

“OK fine, you win ” he said and raise his hands in a surrender like.

The door bell rang and I got up to go get it.

I opened the door and there stood Amber.

“hey Amber ” I said and stepped aside for her to come in.

“hey new girlfriend ” she said as she walked in.

“you ditched school today too ” I asked as I walked to y seat.

“what else could I do? Go to school and sulk in front of everyone “she asked and Kyle and I arched an eyebrow.

“and why would you be sulking “I asked and she sighed.

She glanced at Kyle and Kyle raised his brow at her.

“just forget it and why did you guys ditch school as well ” she asked.

“Kyle’s idea not mine ” I defended.

“so Kyle ” she looked at Kyle and gave him a questioning look.

“just feel down today ” Kyle replied and sighed yet again.

He laid his head on the couch headrest and sighed.

“are you sure you’re OK? Are you sick ” Amber asked and I sighed.

“same thing I’ve been asking him ” I said.

“I’m fine! ” Kyle yelled.

Amber and I glanced at each other then back at Kyle.

He got upset and went upstairs.

“I’ll go check up on him ” Amber offered.

She stopped just at the stairs and came back.

“I meant you should go check up on him ” she said.

“and why can’t you do it ” I asked.

“cause you’re his girlfriend and I’m not ” she blurted out sternly.

“and you’re his friend ” I said.

“but not as special as you are to him ” she said sadly.

“are you sure you’re alright too ” I asked and she nodded with a sad expression.

“really really… ”

“I’m fine! I knew coming here was gonna make me sulk more, I’m out ” she said and walked out through the door.

OK! Why’s everyone weird today?

I took my phone from the couch and went up to Kyle’s room.

He laid on his bed with his hands supporting his head.

I dropped my phone on the table and walked to him.

“hey ” I said but he didn’t even reply.

“are you alright “I asked but got no response.

“is there anything you wanna do to cheer up ” I asked and he sighed.

He sat up and faced me.

He made me lay down and partly hovered over me.

My heart beat faster in my chest as o though of what he’d do.

He reached our his out to my hair and brushed them backward.

“what I wanna do?” he asked lowly.

“I wanna k-ss u till I get tired, feel you and be with you forever ” he said softly.

He gently brought his face down and placed his l-ips on mine.

He k-ssed me slowly and I returned it with the same rhythm as our l-ips moved in perfect sync.

He slowly sunclad his hand around my wa-ist and pulled me closer to him.

He slid his tongue into my mouth and teased me.

He s-cked my bottom l-ips as he he teased me.

Soon he slowed down and pulled away.

He sighed and sat up.

“why are you acting strange ” I asked and he sighed.

“can I please be alone ” he asked.

“please ” he said and I arched and eye brow.

“fine, I’ll leave ” he said and before I could say anything, he walked out the door.

He’s really strange these days.

I touched my l-ips and felt them.

He has never k-ssed my like this before.

I could see the hurt in his eyes.

I got up and went to my room.

The next thing I wanna do now is stick my face on my pillow and sulk for no reason.

I dropped my phone on my table and plumped down on my bed.

I kept tossing and turning for hours and when I finally looked at the time, it was 19:00 but Kyle was still not back.

Does Brett knows about this?

Where could Kyle be by this time of the night?

Just when I was heading to Brett’s room to ask him, my phone beeped.

I checked the message and it was from Kyle.

“meet me at the park now ” the message read.

At the park? Why?

My heart pounded as I walked down the stairs.

Did I do something wrong?

Can Kyle really hurt me?

I hailed a cab to the park and paid.

Yeah! I do save my lunch money sometimes.

I walked into the park and met Kyle.

His well built back was all I could see.

“Kyle ” I whispered and doubted he heard me but he did cause he turned to face me.

“I want to tell you something ” he said and my heart skipped.

What does he want to tell me that he couldn’t do it in the house?

“OK what’s it ” I asked lowly.

“you know, this is where I proposed to you to be my girlfriend ” he said and I nodded.

“so I want everything to end here “he blurted and I was taken aback.

He’s breaking up with me?

Why?

“why? Did I do anything wrong ” I asked.

“no you didn’t but I don’t think I love you anymore ” he said and turned his back to me.

He doesn’t love me?

This is not true!

“you’re lying, you still love me ” I said, tears making it’s way outta my eyes.

“if you didn’t love me then why did you tell me to be ur girlfriend ” I asked.

“cause I thought I love you ” he said and I arched an eyebrow.

“what do you mean you thought you love me ” I asked.

“your beautiful so who wouldn’t lust over you “he asked.

“so you just lust after me and not really loved me ” I asked but he said nothing.

“no no, you’re lying ” I yelled.

“I’m not f-cking lying and I want this to end right here ” he yelled and I flinched.

I’ve never seen him so angry like this.

He’s never raised his voice at me before.

“Carly I don’t love you, I don’t deserve you ” he said softly.

“so here, it’s ended and you’re free ” he said.

“now go back home “he said and walked away.

I can’t believe this.

I just can’t believe it.

He left me all alone in the park by this time.

I sniffed and headed out of the park.

I walked along the road as I searched for a cab.

I felt someone following me and when I turned, I saw no one.

I kept having that awkward feeling that I was being followed.

I finally hailed a cab and headed home.

I arrived and went up to my room.

I freshened up and plumped down on my bed.

I just wanna forget all that happened today.

I closed my eyes and drifted off to dream land.

~ Kyle ~

After I had broken up with Carly, I walked out of the park and stood at a corner.

I followed her as she walked cause it was late and I didn’t want anything to happen to her.

She kept turning but I hid si she wouldn’t see me.

She finally hailed a cab and I heaved a sigh of relief.

I went back to my car, boarded it and drove home.

I hear up to my room and plumped down on my bed.

She’s gone!

I closed my eyes and slept off.

I woke up the next day and sat on my bed.

There’s no way I’m going to school today either.

The Beverly brothers have ruined my day.

They’re both assh-les.

No no, no matter what Kyle does, he’ll never be an assh-le.

He’s an angel.

But I just can’t believe it, he didn’t really love me, he was just lusting over me.

But he’s so nice and caring to me.

No, he’s lying.

I’m gonna ask him again, maybe he was drunk or he hit his head on something.

I got outta bed and went to freshen up.

After tidying up, I left my room and headed downstairs.

As I got to the stairs, right in front of me was Kyle.

We maintained eye contact for a while until he looked away.

“Kyle if you really didn’t love, why were u so nice to me ” I asked.

He sighed and looked at me.

“I’m nice to everyone, it’s like my nature and there’s nothing special about it ” he replied.

“just flush out the idea that I love you, I don’t. That’s me for you I’m nice to everyone ” he said and walked downstairs.

I took a deep breath and sighted Brett staring at me.

I looked away quickly and went downstairs.

The doorbell rang and Kyle got it.

“hey Amber ” Kyle called.

“just like I guessed, you all ditched school today again ” she said as she walked in.

“hey Carly ” she said as she took her seat on a couch.

I sluggishly walked to her and sat beside her.

I don’t even have the appetite for breakfast.

I just found out that the person I thought he loved me didn’t love me at all.

Kyle walked back upstairs and Amber gave me a look.

“what’s it ” she asked and I sighed.

“Kyle broke up with me ” I blurted out.

“really? Why ” she asked.

“he said he didn’t love me but just lust after me ” I said.

“the Kyle I know isn’t like that ” she said and I sighed.

“that’s what I thought but he made everything clear to me ” I said.

“and you’re heart broken “she asked.

“I don’t know, I just feel awkward. For some reason, I’m not heart broken and for another, I kinda feel bad” I said.

“so you’re not heartbroken ” she asked and I shrugged.

“are you even sure you love him ” she asked.

Do I really really love Kyle?

I don’t think so?

Ah! My head will soon explode.

“well to me, I don’t think you love him, maybe you were just giving him chance cause he’s super nice and caring ” she said.

So he’s nice and caring to everyone Huh?

“well it’s good you guys are apart ” she said and I arched an eyebrow.

“what’s that ”

“nothing ” she quickly replied.

So weird!

~ Kyle ~

I went to Brett’s room and met him on the bed.

“I know you love her ” I said lowly and he looked at me.

He rolled his eyes and looked away.

“you’re still on that issue” he said.

“and you’re still in denial “I said and he sighed.

I went over to him and sat on his sofa.

“I broke up with her ” I said and his head snapped up at me.

“you can have her ” I said.

“why did you break up with her ” he asked.

“cause I don’t love her, I never loved her ” I replied.

“really? You think you can fool me? You love that girl and I know it. Did you break up with her for me ” he asked and I scoffed.

“for you? In your dreams. I just lust after her and she doesn’t even love me anyway, she just likes me cause I’m nice and caring ” I said.

“you love… ”

“believe what you want but I don’t love her, I didn’t love her ” I said and walked out.

I went downstairs just in time to meet Amber at the door.

“leaving?” I asked and she nodded with a smile.

Carly was seated on the couch.

“lemme drop you off cause I’m going out anyway ” I offered and she smiled broadly.

“sure ” she replied.

I went to her and we both walked out.

We boarded the car and I drove out.

I dropped her off and drove to the beach.

I sat at a corner where no one was and let it out.

I let all the tears pour.

I lied, they’re all lies.

I love her and I still do.

Lust after her? Never! I love her for what she is and who she is.

If I don’t leave the way, she and Brett might never end up together.

After all these years, Brett is finally gonna let go of the past and learn to love again.

There’s nothing more happy than that.

This is what big brothers do anyway?

Sacrifice their happiness to make their love ones happy.

Love is sacrifice.

I buried my head in my palms and cried.

Mins later after Amber and Kyle had left, the doorbell rang.

Did they forget anything?

I sighed and went to the door.

I opened it to reveal him.

The monster.

Kyle’s dad.

My heart sank and I started sweating.

Kyle is not even home and Brett?

He won’t even let me into his room.

Oh my God! What do I do.

I stood in front of him as I trembled in his presence.
