I drove Faye home and she said she’d talk to her foster parents about it.

I gave her some money to call me in a public place if she’s ready to come.

I drove back home and alighted.

I met Leo, Johanna and Brian seated on the couch.

They gave me a weird look as I walked in.

“what ” I asked, looking from one to the other.

“don’t you think lying to Faye and using her against her parents is a little bit overboard “Brian asked.

“yes I think that too ” Johnna raised her hand up in agreement and Leo nodded.

I flared up.

I can’t believe them.

“I can’t believe you guys, they killed my parents and many more innocent souls out there, they made children homeless and orphans ” I seethed as the fire of anger burned in me.

“using their daughter against them is nothing compared to murdering a human” I yelled angrily.

“this is nothing compared to what they did to me and I see no wrong in what I’m doing. They should thank their God that I’m not gonna kill them like they killed innocent souls.

I’m just gonna ruin them and they should thank their stars. If you all think I’m going too far, then you can all walk out of this and leave it to me ” I remarked and walked out on them.

I stormed to my room and plumped down on my bed and let the hot tears race down.

I just can’t believe them.

Those people killed my parents, my lovely parents.

They deprived me of an happy home and so they did to many others.

They have to be stopped cause even the law can’t seem to stop them but I would, I swear with my last breath that they will go down even if I go with them.

I’m going overboard using Faye against her own parents? They used my mom’s friend to poison her.

Overboard they said?

Overboard my foot!

I’ve not even started yet.

I wiped my tears and went to freshen up.

I went to the meeting room and rang the bell signalling them to come.

Those who would come here will be the ones we’ll finish the quest for justice together.

Leo slowly walked in and took his seat then Johanna and Brian walked in.

“whatever you do ” Johanna said.

“for this quest of justice ” Brian added.

“we’d never let you go ” Leo completed and I smiled broadly.

I nodded with a smile and they smiled too.

“so Brian what have you got ” I asked.

“the Buenevistas have a very big plot of land in this city. They’re planning to build a company and I’m afraid if they succeed, they’d blow ” Brian said and I nodded.

“Leo ” I called lowly cause I didn’t wanna get on his nerves.

“I’ve gat Sasha Buenevista under my claws, she trusts me and I can use her ” he said and I smiled at him for a job well done.

I didn’t bother about Johanna cause it seems Rinaldo is a difficult job so I’ll handle it myself.

“we have to find a way to get that land ” I said and pursed my l-ips.

“more so, the Buenevistas funds are shared amongst their children so if Faye is accepted as their daughter, they’d give her, her share ” Brian added and I smiled.

“and once she’s given, I’ll tell her to transfer it to the account ” I said with a wry smile.

“we can easily get Faye’s funds and I can transfer Rinaldo’s own to my account cause he’s like a fool in my hands ” I assured.

It won’t take me a month to know Fernando’s code if I go close to him.

All I need is smart moves.

“and you Leo, since you’ve gat Sasha under your claws, can you coax Sasha into transferring hers into the account ” I asked.

We’ve gat a general account that we’ve set for this stuff.

“sure! I’ll just play with her head and tell her she has to send her funds to my account for us to start a future together cause we’re one ” he said and we busted out laughing.

“but before then I’ll have to engage her and see her parents, I’ll act like a real gentle man ” he said and we clapped for him.

“Johanna will get you a ring, a diamond ring ” I said.

“what about Fernando ” Brian asked and my heart sank.

My Fernando, my child’s father.

Some part of me want to protect him but he betrayed me.

He betrayed our love.

“Brian, I want you to check everything about Fernando and Melanie, I need the feedback tonight ” I commanded and he nodded.

We finished the meeting and ordered food.

After dinner, we went to our various rooms.

My phone rang and I took it, expecting it to be Faye but my expression dropped when I saw it was Rinaldo.

I had given my number to him at the welcome party.

What does he want this night?

“Rinaldo ” I called with enthusiasm but deep down in,side me, hatred is all I feel for him.

“Lanna ” he called softly.

“yes Rinaldo, why did you call by this time of the night ” I asked.

“sorry for disturbing you but I.. I…I wanted to… ”

“spill ” I said and he sighed.

“I wanted to ask you out on a date ” he blurted out and I smiled.

“how sweet! What time ” I asked.

“tomorrow at 1:00” he replied.

“fine by me, good night ” I said and hung up before he could say anything.

I laid on my bed and slept off.

I woke up the next day and did my morning routine.

We ate breakfast together and sat in the sitting room.

“Lanna you won’t believe this ” Brian said and I glanced at Leo to see him flared up at the mention of Lanna but he quickly calmed down.

“what ” I asked.

“it’s about the research on Melanie ” he blurted out and I halted what I was doing.

“tell… ” I was saying but trailed off when my phone rang.

It was an unsaved number so I picked it up.

“Lanna “Faye’s voice sounded over the phone.

Good thing I’ve memorized her voice and accent.

“how are you Faye ” I asked.

“I’m fine, I already told mom and dad

about you and they’d like to see you before they let me go ” she said and I breathed out an “oh”.

That’s simple! I can do it.

“OK I’ll be there right away cause you’re very important to me ” I said.

“bye”

“OK bye ” I said and hung up.

“Time to solve another obstacle” I said and got up.

“I’m going to pick up Faye ” I told them and they nodded.

We have to know each other’s whereabouts in case of anything.

I walked out, boarded my car and drove off.

I arrived hours later and alighted.

I walked to their house and met Faye already waiting for me outside.

She ran to me and hugged me when she saw me.

She’s so sweet and I feel guilty for using her but her parents caused it.

We went in and I was offered a seat.

I was bombarded with questions but I answered them all with emotions and played it well.

“I’ll visit you ” Faye said in tears as she hugged her parents and a girl.

After the emotional drama, I left with Faye.

I took her to the mall for shopping and got her lots of things.

She needs to act like my sister but I have to plan how to get her to the Buenevistas.

We arrived home and we all had fun.

We welcomed her to the family and she wouldn’t leave my side nor stop staring at Leo.

Leo would kill her one day if she doesn’t compose herself.

“can we go see our parents ” she asked and my heart started pounding hærd in my chest.

“sure! I only know where mom was buried but not for dad cause he was blown up ” I said and she nodded in tears.

“they will pay ” I assured her and she nodded.

“they’ll pay ” she whispered.

We boarded the car and I drove to the cemetery.

We walked in and went to mom’s grave.

Her name “Teresa Grande ” was engraved on it.

I pointed it to Faye and she broke down in tears.

I had started crying too.

I don’t wanna remember all these, it hurts.

I slowly moved back in tears until I collided with a grave and almost lost my balance.

I wiped my tears and squatted.

My heart jumped when I saw the name “Gustavo Grande “.

I can’t believe it, someone buried my dad.

Someone respected him.

Oh my God!

I cried and ran my hands down the name engraved on it.

Daddy.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked up to see Faye.

“I found dad’s grave, someone respected him and put him to rest ” I smiled in tears.

“excuse me ” we heard and turned to see Fernando.

What the hell is he doing here?

Busted twice!
