“hey ” I said and walked up to her.

I helped her descend the stairs and she smiled.

“sit” I told her and she sat on the couch.

“so we made a plan that will maybe put dad behind bars and you’re included in the plan ” I said and her eyes slightly w¡dened.

“I mean we’re all involved but specifically the both of us ” I said.

“you’ll have to learn to be strong and fearless in front of him ” I said and I could clearly see the fear in her eyes.

I sat beside her and held her hand.

“we’ll be here and won’t let him hurt you, not at all ” I said but she wasn’t getting it.

“look Carly, I won’t let anyone hurt you, trust me. You have to act fearless in front of him and that will make him tease you with your past memories. He’ll talk about how he killed your family just to hurt you and all those would be recorded ” I said.

“hey you have to do this, for you, for us and most especially for your family ” I said and that seemed to have clicked something in her.

“for my family ” she repeated and I nodded.

“for my brother, my mother and my dad ” she said and I nodded.

A tear slid down her cheek and I quickly wiped it with my thumb.

“please don’t cry ” I said.

“yes Carly, you just have to be strong for….. ” he was cut short by his ringing phone.

“it’s Amber ” he said and pressed the answer button.

“what? ” he exclaimed and that got Carly and I worried.

“what happened ” I asked.

“it’s Amber, she said she’s at the park but lost her purse so there’s no way she can go home ” he said and I nodded.

“I’ll go pick her up ” he said and walked out.

“hey, I don’t wanna see you cry again please ” I told Carly.

“I know I’ve made you cry a lot but trust me, I regret it all and if I could go back to those times, I’d replace it with happiness ” I said and she smiled.

“I love you ” the words left my mouth before I could process it.

My eyes w¡dened at my words and she seemed to be in shock too.

Great! What a good way to ruin her mood.

“I’m sorry Carly, I didn’t mean to ruin your mood ” I said and her eyes darted to me.

“no it’s OK ” she said and my l-ips curved into a smile.

“really? You have no problem with me loving you ” I asked and she sighed.

“it’s OK, you don’t have to answer that ” I said and she smiled.

I smiled and pulled her into a hug.

I arrived at the park and searched for Amber.

I found her at the east part and called out her name.

She smiled as I walked up to her.

“so are you ready to go ” I asked and she chuckled.

I arched an eyebrow when I saw her purse with her.

“I thought you said you lost your purse ” I said and she smiled.

“well I lied ” she blurted out.

“why ” I asked.

“let’s just say, I wanted to spend more time with you ” she said and I chuckled.

“you’re weird ” I commented.

“sure ” she said.

“so ” she said and slowly wrapped her hands around my neck.

They felt soft and smooth around my neck and I just wanted it to be there.

She didn’t finish her sentence as she stared at me.

Her face got closer, closer until her soft plump l-ips landed on mine.

Her l-ips were so soft and plump that I wanted it all.

I wrapped my arms around her wa-ist and pulled her closer as I devoured her l-ips.

She pulled away and that was when it dawned on me that I almost made out with her, my friend.

Gosh! What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I control myself?

“I’m sorry ” I said breathlessly.

“why would you be sorry? And besides, I’m the one who k-ssed you ” she said, sadness in her tone.

“you’re sorry cause you k-ssed me? Why? Am I disgusting or something ” she asked.

“no Amber, that wasn’t what I was hinting at ” I said.

“forget it! ” she shakes dams angrily stormed out.

“hey! Wait up ” I called as I ran after her.

She stopped a cab and I tried pulling her back but one glare from her put me in place.

“Amber please wait, I’m sorry ” I said as she boarded the cab.

“Amber! Amber! ” I called as she drove off.

Great! I’m now in a mess!

Carly was never this complicated.

I shook my head to get rid of any thoughts of Carly.

I can never have her.

I boarded my car and drove home.

After having dinner which Brett and Carly prepared, I retired to my room.

Brett’s so happy now and I’m happy to see him happy.

My mind drifted back to Amber and I sighed.

Why the hell did she k-ss me?

And why the f-ck didn’t I protest?

She was so soft and delicious that I…. Gosh!

I cleared all the thoughts off my kind and slept off.

I woke up the next day and freshened up.

I called Amber for like a thousand times but she was hanging up on me.

She was the one who k-ssed and I even apologized but I’m the one suffering for it.

What a life!

I think I’m gonna go see her.

“Wo! Where are you going ” Brett asked and I stopped at the door.

“I’m gonna go see Amber, she’s kinda upset with me so I have to settle things ” I said and he nodded.

“but what about breakfast ” Carly asked.

I smiled at her sweet voice.

“I’m not that hungry ” I said and she nodded slowly.

I smiled and walked out.

I boarded the car and headed to Amber’s house.

I finished breakfast but Carly was till eating so I went up to my room.

I sat on my bed and took my phone to listen to music.

I heard the doorbell ring but I didn’t get it.

Carly must’ve finished eating so she’ll get it.

But who’s it?

I took my laptop and connected to the cameras in the sitting room.

At the door was my dad and I front of him was Amber, expressionless.

God! Can she really act fearless in front of him or is she gonna ruin the plan?

~ Brett ~

I watched from my laptop as Carly stood in front of him, expressionless.

I was already doubting if Carly could act fearless.

She’d just ruin all the plans.

“what are you doing here ” she asked boldly and I was surprised.

Dad scoffed and walked in like he owned the house.

“so you can even talk now huh ” he asked with a smirk.

“that doesn’t answer my question, what the hell is your ugly ass doing here ” Carly asked and I smiled.

So she did learn our foul language after all.

“I can see my boys have taught you their language ” dad said.

“your parents owe me huge sum of money and they weren’t able to pay before they died ” he said sternly.

“you mean before you killed them ” Carly asked.

“oh yeah, before I killed them. Not my fault though cause I gave them time to pay but they couldn’t ” dad said.

“was that why you killed them in cold blood and also murdered my brother “Carly asked.

“I’m afraid yes ” he said.

I thought Carly would be in tears but she started laughing.

Dad was surprised by her heart.

“well I think it’s now vice versa cause you killed 3 of my family and money isn’t the least worth one life so now you’re the one owing me ” Carly blurted out and I was stunned.

Where the hell did she get so smart and fearless?

“haha haha, you think? Well we’ll see about that cause you’re coming with me ” dad blurted out and I immediately dropped my laptop.

I ran out of my room and stopped at a corner beside the stairs.

“why? So you can kill me like you killed my parents, brother, your wife and your daughter “Carly asked.

“oh! I can see they already told you much about me and now that you know about me, you should think of your last prayer “he said and Carly laughed.

“but I won’t let such a beauty go to waste just like that, I’ll have my way with you first ” he said and that seemed to have scares the crap outta Carly.

He snapped his fingers and 4 huge men walked in through the door.

Holy moly, this is gonna be tough.

You won’t believe this, Amber’s one hell of a something.

I’ve never seen this side of her and I don’t know of Brett knows this side of hers cause she’s more like Brett’s friend than mine.

After I apologized to her and she accepted, she dragged me to their garden where she has been blabbering for hours.

“OK Amber, I have to go now ” I told her and she put on a sad face.

“why? I wanted to spend the day with you ” she said and I sighed.

So dramatic.

She’s been acting weird these days like I’m her boyfriend or something.

“sorry but I have to go ” I said and got up.

“OK fine, see ya tomorrow ” she said and I smiled.

“bye ” she said and pecked my cheek.

“do you have to do that” I asked.

“of course ” she said with a smile.

I rolled my eyes and walked out.

I boarded my car and headed home.

I arrived minutes later and alighted.

I opened the door and met with Brett’s face at my feet.

He was bleeding bad and that triggered something in me, anger.

Who dare beat him up like this?

I looked up at saw my dad with two huge men beside him.

Two were on the floor wincing in pain.

A smirk on his face as he stared at me.

Oh! I get now, so dad came to fight us with this thugs huh?

And they dare beat up Brett.

Carly was behind a couch, crying.

Why the hell didn’t any of them call me?

I looked at him and returned the smirk he was giving me.

I stretched out my hand and pulled Brett up.

The two thugs on the floor got up too and I smiled.

I folded my fist into a ball and cracked the bones.

I slowly walked to my dad and looked him straight in the eyes.

He was smirking but that smirk was quickly replaced by a wince when I punched him in the face.

Serves him right for hurting Brett.

Two of the thugs ran to me but I held their hands, twisted it back and did a double side kick that threw them apart.

I went to the other two and we started a boxing competition.

I squatted and cleared them both off the ground with my leg.

Brett handled the other two while I handled the rest.

Soon they were all on the floor and I smirked.

I glanced at Brett and the injuries on his face made my smirk turn into frown.

I sprung towards my dad and almost punched him but stopped when he pointed a gun at me.

“one more step and you’ll meet your mother and sister wherever they are ” he said and I smirked.

“you think I’m afraid of death don’t you?” I asked and laughed to myself.

“you are just a…. ” I was saying but trailed off when dad’s fell on the floor and winced in pain.

I looked and saw a rod with Carly.

Gosh! She just hit his head.

I quickly kicked the gun from his reach and watched as he winced in pain.

“you know we could just kill you ” I said.

“but we aren’t gonna do that will make us a monster just like you ” Brett completed and I nodded.

“just wist for our move, you’re gonna rot in prison ” I said and he scoffed.

He got up and wiped his face.

He glared at us both and walked out with his thugs.

“Brett, are you alright ” I asked immediately dad was out of sight.

“yeah, just feeling some pain ” Brett said with a wince.

“don’t worry, I’ll treat.. ”

“no don’t worry, I’ll treat him ” Carly cut me short and I smiled at her.

“OK fine, I’ll be up in my room ” I said and ran up to my room.

I freshened up and dressed up.

Mins later, Carly called me for dinner and I went downstairs.

I noticed Brett’s face was well treated and I smiled.

After dinner, I went up to my room and slept off.

Today was a really long day.

After dinner, Brett and I went to my room.

After convincing Brett that I wasn’t hurt, he retired to his room.

I laid on my bed and slept off.

Cold, I felt cold.

I slowly opened my eyes and instead of meeting with the bright lights in my room, I met with deem light.

This wasn’t my room and I was sure.

My eyes wandered everywhere as I took in the place I was.

I gasped and sprung up when I met with two eyes.

Who wore a sweater that has a cap attached to it and that cap covered his face.

Brett’s dad has finally succeeded in kidnapping me and now he’s gonna kill me.

He’ll kill me and everything will be in vain.

I’m good as dead!
