She woke up and cussed. She just dreamt that she seeing Mandy. She wish the dream was real.

It was already mid night when she woke up. Grace hope that she will get to meet Mandy very soon, perhaps the dream means that she will see Mandy very soon.

Grace refreshing up and went downstairs to prepare breakfast.

She was preparing toasted bread and Milkshake . Why she serve the dish on the dining table, Luna walk in.

“You don’t have to do this ma ” Luna pouted.

Grace only smile at her.

” I enjoy cooking ” She replied.

” Not that, you’re my guest ” Luna snapped.

“Just forget it now and have a seat ” Grace said.

“Okay if you say so ” Luna replied, taking a seat.

Grace sat too and they both where eating.

“Can I speak to you ” Grace requested, when hey were done eating.

“Yah, sure ma ” Luna shrug.

They sat at the parlour sofa.

” Do you know Oakland ” Grace ask

” Ma, am a Californian, sure I’ll know about Oakland and as a matter of fact have being there couple of times ” Luna replied.

Grace felt butterfly dangling in her stomach, it was the feeling of ecstasy. She knew if she can go to Oakland she will find Mandy easily coz Mandy gave her address some years back when she was still intact with her.

“Oh my God, I’ll surely find my children very soon ” She thrilled with ecstasy.

“But the journey from here to there is long way ahead. Will we spend many hours in the road ” Luna shrug.

“I don’t care how long the f-cking journey is am just happy that I’ll soon get to meet my Children ” Grace said.

“I’ll be right back ” Grace said, she stood up and went upstairs, and after a few minutes of waiting Grace Descended the stairs with a paper in her hand.

She gave Luna the paper. It contain Mandy address and to Grace fortune Luna said she as behind there in that particular street to visit her friend a month ago.

“I can even drive you there and to that particular street, just tell me when you are ready ” Luna volunteer kindly.

Grace smile and sat close to her.

“Luna my child, I don’t wanna put much burden on you coz you have help me a lot ” Grace said.

“You call me a child right, isn’t it the duty of a child to help her mum out ” Luna said with a delicate brow.

Grace just stare at her with bewilderment and utter surprise.

” Please don’t refuse my offer coz I consider you as my mum ” Luna said and broke into tears. Grace hug her.

“You consider me your mum and for that you deserve to be my child, so now I’ve three children ” Grace said affectionately, cupping Luna face in her palm.

“Thanks ma, having being yearning for a mother”Luna said still in tears.

“Don’t cry, you can help me if that will make you happy ” Grace shrug. Luna sniff and clean her tears.

“You know already fond of you, When I see you, I imagine how my daughter will look like” Grace remark.

Luna blushed.

“That’s while, I’ll help you to find my brother and sister. So I’ll drive you there ” Luna stated and hugged Grace.

Luna drove Grace to Oakland. Along the way Grace was so eager to see her children. She can’t wait to meet Mandy and the children. She hope she find them there.

Mandy’s residence

“Mum, we’re off to school ” Arthur and Alyssa announce pecking Mandy on the cheek together.

Mandy smile.

“I’ll come home early mum, I won’t go to work 💼 today ” Arthur inform.

“And why ” Mandy arched a brow.

“Coz I don’t feel like working today, just want to attend classes ” Arthur Said.

“And why ” Mandy frown.

“Mum, have being doing both diligently, just today I won’t miss work any other day. I just wanna spend time with you mum and I don’t want miss lunch” Arthur said.

“The both of you act like a five year old, am not going to disappear, what is the need of skipping work coz of me ” Mandy scold.

“Mum, please just for today “Arthur pleased.

Mandy roll her eyes.

“Okay ” Mandy agreed.

“Love you mum” Arthur said and peck her once more on the cheek., before going out with Alyssa

They both act childish some times, but they are very hærdworking and they love Mandy so much, little they don’t no that Mandy’s barely their real mum. Arthur work in a company apart from school. He work as a cleaner there and do is work diligently, that the boss taught of hiring him as a worker when he’s done with his education. Why Alyssa just goes to school and she only wanna work after her education.

Mandy went to her shop. She owns a shop. She came back in the mid afternoon and was preparing lunch, when Arthur and Alyssa came in.

They went upstairs to each of their room to freshen up.

Mandy head a knock at her door and she went to open the door, but was shock with whom she saw.

There before her was her old time friend Hanna, she was the first friend she made when she came to this city. But she move to New York. She is shock to see her in her porch after five years.

“I stop by the street, I decided to come and pay you a visit ” Hanna shrug.

Mandy embrace her excitedly and they went in and started chit chatting.

Grace and Luna got to the street.

“We’re here ” Luna announce and Grace heart beat faster.

Anticipation was eating Grace up, she felt if she didn’t see Mandy today she might have an heart attack.

They pack the car they assume they assume to be Mandy’s home, just in an available corner and alighted.

Luna glance at the paper which contains details of Mandy’s address and nodded with a smile.

“We are in the correct place ” Luna said.

At of excitement she hugged Luna and she went to knock at the door with Luna trailing behind.

She rang the door bell instead.

“Just a minute, am coming ” a voice yell from in,side. The voice belong to a young woman and Grace thought it might be her daughter.

The door creak open and it was a girl about fifteen. She look at Grace and Luna confusedly.

“Wendy dear, who is at the door “a voice that belong to a woman could be heard in,side.

“Mum is some old lady and a young lady ” the girl replied in a rude manner.

The woman came and stare at them with confuse expression.

“Who’re both of you ” the woman inquired.

“Am Grace, I like to see Mandy ” Grace said feeling anxious.She hope they know Mandy, but the girl and her mum glance at each other surprisedly.

“There is no such person that bear that name living here, this is my home. I live here with with my husband and three daughters, nor goes by the name Mandy. Sorry wrong address “the woman pointed out.

Grace felt her heart scattering to piece. She couldnt say a word. She leapt back a little feeling that she was gonna explode. The woman slam the door.

“How could this be, this is the correct address ” Luna baffled.

“Me thinking, Mandy must have gave you a wrong address “Luna pore

Grace felt balk. She was struck numb her expectation was crushed.

Grace mind was lost in thought, but her leg started moving, not to the car, but she was just walking.

Luna was still baffling, she didn’t realize when Grace walk away. When she jolted back, She saw that Grace was no where to be found. She twirled and saw Grace walking towards the road. She trot and call Grace.

“Grace!!! “she yell in fright, when she saw a moving vehicle driving recklessly and coming towards her direction.

But Grace was still lost. Luna run as fast as leg could carry her, but it we too late. The car was in a high speed. It crushed Grace in such a way that she tumbled to the floor, Luna squeak. The car didn’t not stop but rush away from sight.

Soon everywhere was crowded, Luna rush to Grace. She squat to the floor and started crying. Grace was unconscious and was bleeding heavily from her head.

“Someone call the ambulance ” a mop yelled.

“Mum come watch the news ” Alyssa call.

“Mum” She continue calling coz they was no respond.

“What so special about the news” Mandy replied as she descended the stairs.

“A woman had and accident early this morning in Oakland ” Alyssa inform as Mandy came close.

She glance at the TV and leapt back a little. She saw Grace being lifted in a stretcher and taking into the ambulance.

Mandy heart pounded.

“Grace” she whisper
