Jennifer got down from the taxi cab and head towards her apartment after paying the driver. Her face was still paled. She walked in and found her father searching for food in the kitchen leaving it a mess.
“Dad!” She called out walking towards him.
“There’s no food! There’s no food.. I’m hungry, so hungry” the man panicked. His gaze moved to Jennifer’s bag and he quickly grab it from her.
“Dad stop!” She exclaimed as her dad hungrily search her bag. His face lit up as he spot a little change in it, he grabbed it instantly.
“Stop dad!” She yelled again but the man pushed her slightly out of the way and head out.
Jennifer let out a loud sighed. Her eyes teared up but she wiped it away using her highschool sleeve. Her dad had been like this ever since the tragic incident with her mom and little sister.
She slowly sat the kitchen marble floor and folded her knees against her chest. Tears rolled down her eyes thinking of if this is going to end. The person that could ease her pain rejected her when she confessed her love for him.. Ethan.
For an unknown immeasurable time, Jennifer sat on the floor. The door opened and her father walked in. She heard his light steps coming towards the kitchen, she didn’t even look up to him.
“I’m sorry” she heard him say, he sat down beside her on the floor with a sad look. “I’m a terrible father”
Jennifer looked up to him. Her father sometimes return back to his senses.
“I was just hungry, I’m sorry” he muttered again. Jennifer kept quiet. Her father eyes turn drowsy as he slowly Lean his head towards her shoulder. He slept of like that.
No matter how much her father upset her, she still couldn’t hate him.. he is all she have left.
Remembering how she met those men last night, her fist clinched into a tight ball.
FLASHBACK***
“Who are you?” She asked the black men before her. She could sense the danger around them and she became prepared of what is going to happen.
The car door behind them opened and a man stepped out. He was three times her size with dangerous aura around him. A stick of cigar dangled at one side of his lips.
Getting to her, he stopped and let out a thick smoke.
“Jennifer right?” The man asked.
“No I’m not..”
“Don’t lie to me girl, I hate lies” The man said.
Jennifer swallowed and tried to composed herself. “What do you want?”
“You were kidnapped with the other girl named Nana.. Who saved you that night?” The man asked.
Jennifer turned quiet.. when are they going to stop asking her this question? The thing is.. for some unknown reason, she still couldn’t say the truth even though she despise the girl.. maybe because she was saved by her.
“I don’t know, I came out with Nana and found all of the men dead” She replied.
The man’s eyes flickered with something dangerous. It seems he is trying to scare her to say the truth. It was working but Jennifer who had faced a lot knows how to hide her fear.
“Hm, like I said.. I hate lies. Do you know what happens when you hide the truth?”
Jennifer decided to stay quiet.
“People will die. The person you are trying to protect killed my brother and will kill more people. The person is a weapon made by the most dangerous man in the underworld. Is that the kind of person you want to protect?” Voldemort asked lightly.
Jennifer tried her best not to show any emotion. Annabelle is a weapon? “Like I said.. I found them dead, so I have no idea on who you are talking about” she said firmly.
“Okay then. Let it be the truth or you’ll put the life of you and your father in danger” Voldemort said knowing his word will affect her.
“Don’t you go near my father, he is all I have left!” She snapped.
“That depends on you darling” Voldemort said and went to board into his car with his men.
Jennifer watch them leave.
FLASHBACK ENDS***
“I’ll find every means to protect you father, you are all I have left” she muttered while staring at the man’s face.

Ethan kept on strolling around the ward, his mind was restless. Annabelle’s angry look kept on lingering in his head and he was worried. Could it be that she had gone to meet that guy? The guy seems dangerous as fuck!
“Where are you Belle?” he muttered, the sky was getting dark already.
“Ethan, I’m done with the last patient.. we can head home now” His mother said behind him.
“Huh? Can’t we wait a little longer?” He asked.
“It’s getting late already, you need to eat dinner and I’m going to be staying home for some nights just to make sure no one hurts my baby anymore”
She said but the boy didn’t reply her, instead he kept on staring at the window.
“Are you waiting or looking for someone?” She asked.
Ethan sighed and moved away from from the window. “Let’s go home”
30 minutes later they reached their destination. Mrs Serena went to the kitchen to make dinner. After she was done, she serve them before Ethan.
“The girl who visited, who is she?” Mrs Serena asked guessing she was the one her son is waiting for.
“Why are you asking?” Ethan raised his head to look at her.
“I’m just curious yunno, she look worried. You guys look close.. what about Jennifer?” She finally asked the question bothering her
“We are good” he replied.
“You didn’t tell her you are in the hospital? I was expecting to see her and not the weird girl” she said.
“Weird?” Ethan raised his brow.
“She is pretty but there is something weird about her…”
“You can’t judge that way mom” Ethan said dropping his fork with a lighy thud. He stood up and made to leave.
“Ethan? You didn’t finish your foo..”
“I’m not hungry” he cut in immediately as he head towards the room.
“Did I say something wrong?” Mrs Serena muttered, she watch Ethan shut his door.
Ethan rest his head on his door and sighed out. “What the hell is wrong with me?” He mumbled and walked towards the window. “Why isn’t she coming?”

Meanwhile, Annabelle laid on her bed with a sad look on her face. She was feeling down knowing Ethan was hurt because of her. Maybe Jennifer was right, Ethan might get hurt she keeps staying around him.
Ricky on the other hand is currently getting treated.
Her door opened and Scar walked in, she stood up immediately and face him.
Scar bought out an envelope and hand it over to her with a deep grunt.
Annabelle opened it immediately and her lips stretched up into a small smile. The envelope contain the pictures of Ethan when he got home.
Scar blinked in surprise, the is the first time Annabelle will actually smile before him. He grunt and she look up.
“What do you mean I like him?” She raised her brow at him.
Scar grunt again.
“No I don’t, now stop saying that” she glared and then look back to the picture. The last one made her jaw clinched. It shows Ethan waiting by his window. She knew she was the reason. The thought alone made her face sadden a little.
Scar grunt seeing this.
“I’ll kill you if you say that again” she glared at him. “You can leave” she spoke and Scar left with a secret smile.
Annabelle exhaled through her lips. “I can do this” she mumbled.

(NEXT DAY.. BRILLIANT HIGH)
Ethan walked into the class expecting to see Annabelle but he didn’t.
“My man!” Liam exclaimed and jumped to hug him from behind.
“Hey, what’sup” he chuckled.
“I miss you baby. Will you marry me?” Liam asked.
“Yuck dude, that’s gross!!” Ethan hit his head and they both chuckled. “Where’s Annabelle?” He asked
“I haven’t seen her around, I guess she didn’t come to school” Liam replied.
Ethan pushed his lower lips into his mouth as he thought of something. What could be the reason? His eyes met Jennifer, this time, she wave her hand at him and he did the same.
They went to sit on their various seat.
“Hey” Jennifer greeted.
“Hey” Ethan replied.
“Sorry I couldn’t show up yesterday, my dad had some problem with himself” Jennifer said.

“It’s fine. How your dad?” He asked.
“Worse, I wonder when he is going to get better. It’s been years already” Jennifer said.
“I’m sorry” he muttered.
“Thanks” Jennifer smiled, she grab her bag and bought out cakes. “I made these for you guys”
“Thanks Jennie” Liam said from behind and grab the cake from her.
“Hey, that’s for Ethan” Jennifer glared
“I know you’ll give him the biggest piece so I had to grab it” Liam shrugged.
“Oh really?” Jennifer bought out another one which was even bigger than the one he is eating. Liam gasped.
“I made the biggest one for you since I know you love cakes” Jennifer said and gave the biggest one Ethan.
“Sorry dude” Ethan smiled taking a bite before him.
“That’s not fair.. you could have told me”
“You could have been patient” Jennifer said.
“Let me have Selene’s own then” Liam said.
“For what?” A voice sounded and they all look up to see Selene staring down at Liam.
“To give you of course” Liam lied.
“Better” Selene said having a bossy look on her face.

The next day, Ethan didn’t see Annabelle, she missed another day?! He got worried. Is she not feeling well?
Scar walked into Annabelle’s room and raise his brow, seeing her reading a novel.
“I’ll go to school tomorrow” she said before the man could sound.
Scar grunt.
“I’m not doing this because of him.. I’m just feeling guilty that’s all” she pouted and watch Scar raised his brow. “Fine I’ll go to school tomorrow it’s a promise” she said.
The next day, she stood before the tall building. The thought of meeting him today made her swallow. ‘You can do this, just act like you didn’t see him’ she said in her head and stepped into the class.
Her eyes met with him, he was busy talking with Jennifer, they had sort things out?.. well that would make it easier for her. He seems fine, and that’s great. She observe his attractive physic for a while, and look away when the guy shifted his gaze to her.
“Hey Anna, it’s been two day, are you alright?” Daniel asked when she went to sit beside him.
“I.. I am fine, I was just uhm” she stopped not knowing what to say. Beside she can’t lie.
“It’s okay, I know you have a good reason for it so I covered you up” he said.
“You did?” She asked.
“Yeah, you deserve it” Daniel said.
Annabelle could feel Ethan gaze on her. She badly wants to turn back and look at him, but she couldn’t.
“She seems fine” Liam said beside Ethan.
“Yeah” Ethan replied playing with his pen. He could roughly guess what’s going on.
The teacher walked into the class and everyone turn serious.

Annabelle had been avoiding Ethan the whole day. She went to the library, knowing Ethan won’t think of finding her there. The library was so huge and some students were busy studying in it.
The woman in charge was dozing of a little but she still try to keep her eyes opened. Annabelle walked towards a particular shelf, it contains so many novels. The dark ones.
One of them caught her attention and she made to grab it but….
“Hey” She heard the voice of the person she had been avoiding. How did he know she is here? Her body stiffened.
“Are you not going to turn and look at me?” She heard him asked. Her heart beats fast as she could feel his closeness.
Annabelle slowly turn to him but keep her gaze low. “What do you want?” She asked lowly.
“You” Ethan replied sharply making her to swallow. “Why were you absent for two days huh? You gat me worried and crazy”
“I..” she stopped not knowing what to say..
“You what?” He asked lowly and she kept quiet. His voice was dripping with anger.
“Let me be” she said.
“Hmm, let me guess.. you’re avoiding me because of what happened to me that night? You’re blaming yourself?” He asked. Annabelle felt busted. “Right?” He asked resting his hand behind her. They were the only one around the corner, with no one watching.
He so close to her, she could hardly breath.
“Why are you staring at the floor and not me?” He asked.
“Just go Ethan” she whispered.
“Fine, I’ll leave once you look at me” He said.
Annabelle took a sharp breath and close her eyes for a moment. ‘You can do this, just act cold’ she said to herself before opening her eyes and look at him.
His face was serious and inches from hers. His eyes were so captivating, she couldn’t look away. Can she really avoid him? They stared at each other for a while.
“You said you’ll leave once I look at you” She remind him not still looking away.
Ethan lips stretched into an evil smile. Before Annabelle could think, he held her head in place and crashed his on hers, her eyes opened with shock.
This time his kiss wasn’t the light and short ones His lips moved slowly against hers, building up a strange sensation in her. She felt weak on her knee, as if he knew, he held her waist and draw her close to himself.
Annabelle found eyes closing and her lips responding to the kiss, she moved her lips following Ethan’s lead. Her mind was going wild, she loves this feeling.
Ethan smirked against her lips and went to the next level by sliding his tongue into her mouth. To his surprise, she responded. Their lips rolled against each other, as the kiss went wild.
Noticing her struggle for air, Ethan broke the kiss and watch her catch her breath. She opened her eyes, and he could see the confusion and desire swirling in her gaze.
“Let’s see how you’ll avoid me from now on” He whispered and made to leave but then the next action from her shocked him…
Annabelle grab his shirt, pulled him to herself and connected their lips again!!
“Fuck” Ethan growled against her lips….
