I got to their room and pushed open the door to see Cody waking Caden up.
I rushed over to him and squatted in front of him.
“what happened baby?” I asked Cody.
Caden sluggishly sat up, not knowing what was happening.
Cody hugged me so tight so I just let him be in my arms till he feels safe to talk to me.
He pulled away mins later and I made him sit on the bed.
“What happened huh? ” I asked him softly.
“A bad dream ” he said and as serious as it may seem, I laughed.
OK! So Cody had his first nightmare at the age of 4! Hmmmm.
He stared at me as I laughed, wondering what was up with me.
Aiit lemme be serious.
“So what was it about? ” I asked him and he shrugged his shoulders meaning he doesn’t know.
Funny! Hehehehe.
“Aiit go back to sleep ” I told him and he grabbed my arm making me chuckle.
Caden already went back to sleep cause he’s someone who doesn’t get interrupted with his sleep hehehehe.
“Aiit Imma stay with you for the night ” I said and I looked up at the wall clock.
3:45 am.
Hmm, it’s already morning so I only have some few hours to sleep now.
I got in bed with Cody and we both got under the duvet.
He hugged me and I wrapped my arms around him.
I yawned and before we knew it, we drifted off.

Hmmmmmmm! I yawned, stretching on the bed.
I gently rubbed my itchy forehead and slightly opened my eyes.
Everywhere wasn’t as dark as it was hours back.
It isn’t morning yet but I already feel I’ve slept enough.
I yawned again and left my mouth open when it hit me like a bullet.

Bitch that’s cause the curtains in this kids’ room are a thick dark blue curtain that sun can’t penetrate into!
OMG! I jerked up and hopped outta the bed to the window.
I opened the curtains and outside was as bright as heaven.
A disadvantage of sleeping in someone’s room without an alarm.
The sun penetrated in, causing Cody and Caden to wake up.
They both sat up, rubbing their eyes.
They sat there, staring at me as I froze there with a shocked expression.
“What is it? ” Caden asked.
My l-ips felt so heavy so I just pointed at the wall clock, realizing after some secs that they can’t read the time yet.
“We are late! ” I yelled.
They glanced at each other with pop their eyes poking out before jumping outta the bed and running round the room, scre-ming “We are late!!!! “.
“Chills! ” I yelled with my right hand in the air, telling them to hold it.
“Does that mean we are not going to school today? ” Caden asked with a glamorous expression and I smirked.
“Oh yeah y’all going to school, the only person that’s going late to work is ME” I stated clearly and they both slumped down on the bed pretending to be unconscious.
LMAO! They’ve used this trick enough for me to know they’re feigning it.
“Up up up! Not gon repeat myself ” I told them and they got up.
“OK so Imma try make something quick for breakfast and come bathe you both when I’m done so for the main time, do what you can do and that means : GO BRUSH YOUR TEETH!” I told them and they ran to the bathroom in full speed while I exited their room and went to the kitchen.
What would be a quick breakfast? Hmmmmm 🤔.
Aye! Never mind deep thoughts, I’ll just make them oatmeal and berries.
I opened the kitchen cabinets and brought out the oat meal.
Went to the fridge and took out the berries and got ready to prepare it.

I went up to their room and stood at the door, staring at my kids with furrowed brows.
Like seriously?
“Why are you both such a mess? “I asked and they checked themselves out.
“A mess? We just freshened up to help save time ” Cody blurted out and I bit my l-ips so hærd, trying so hærd to suppress my laughter.
I failed miserably and busted out laughing.
OMG! OMG! They freshened up? Like that? Oh my 😂.
“Amy! ” they scre-med and I laughed softly.
“OK OK, Imma stop laughing, Imma stop ” I said but laughed again and they just sighed hehehehe.
I for real can’t suppress my laughter lol.
They freshened up but on Cody’s head are soap foams and I can swear water didn’t even touch the back of his head 😂.
As usual, Caden didn’t even bathe his hair, something he hates doing and I even have to force him to wash his hair all the time.
“Now off your clothes and run back in,side the shower ” I told them and they sighed.
Caden took off his clothes and I helped Cody with his.
Though Cody is the elder one, Caden is actually stronger and stubborn than him.
I bathed them quick and dried them up.
I applied their cream on them and dressed them up.
I packed up their backpacks and we all headed downstairs.
We all took our seat round the dinning table cause I already set the table.
I served the oatmeal in a bowl and carried them both on the table.
I placed a bib around their neck so they wouldn’t mess up their clothes.
I could see and feel the happiness in them when they noticed I was gonna feed them.
I smiled and served a spoonful of oatmeal and berries into Cody’s mouth then Caden’s mouth then Cody’s mouth then Caden’s mouth till the bowl of oatmeal and berries was empty.
I gave them water, cleaned their mouth and dropped them from the table.
I took off the bibs and gave them their backpacks.
The door bell rang and we walked to the door.
The school driver was at the door and Cody and Caden greeted him.
“Thanks ” I told the driver as he took Cody and Caden to the bus.
They boarded the bus and he drove off.
Now time for myself.
I ran to my bathroom and showered up.
I quickly dressed up in whatever and ran downstairs to the dinning with my handbag.
I plunged like three table spoons of oatmeal and berries into my mouth, drank water and headed out.
The spare key was still with our neighbor so I just locked the door and boarded a taxi.
I got there mins later to meet Bryan outside the resto, seated on the street bench.
“Seriously? Do you live in a jungle that you lost your way here or what? ” Bryan asked but I just rolled my eyes.
I opened the resto, thinking about the customers I might have missed.
“OK if you gon give me the silent treatment then I don’t think there’s any need of giving you this important leaflet ” he said as we both walked in,side the resto.
“What leaflet ” I asked him.
“Oh! It’s of no use ” he said with a grin and I sighed.
“Please? ” I said and he smirked and stretched out the leaflet to me.
I rolled my eyes and snatched it from him, glaring at him as I made to read it.
My eyes popped out with a dropped jaw as I went through the leaflet.
A cooking competition is being hosted for all the cooks in the town and all the cooks are to report to the Neville Company and entering closes by 9:30.
The winner gets 50,000$ with a brand new restaurant 😳.
OMG! And the time is 9:12!!
I glanced at Bryan with a flushed expression and he shrugged.
“Never be late ” he blurted out.
“Let’s go now! ” I yelled and we both ran out.
I quickly locked the resto and stopped a cab.
I read out the address to the chauffeur and he drove off to the company.
I kept panicking while in the car while Bryan just kept laughing.
Ugh! So annoying!
50, 000?! A brand new resto?! Oh God!
We arrived at the company at 9:19, I paid the chauffeur and we alighted from the cab.
Bryan and I froze at the company’s entrance when some cooks I recognize exited the company and some were being forced out.
O… K?
“Please, give me a chance and I’ll show you I’m qualified for it ” one of the cooks said, a male one.
OK so they’re selecting people that are qualified for it? Wow!
Bryan and I made to enter the company but the guard stopped us saying no more cooks are allowed cause they’re too much.
But the f-cking time hasn’t elapsed yet!
We tried going in but were pushed out.
Ugh! There’s no way I’m letting this golden opportunity slip away from my hands!
I checked the time and it was 9:25.
I sighted a window at the right corner of the building at the first floor.
I dragged Bryan and we went to the corner.
I pointed at the window to him and he arched an eyebrow.
“We are climbing to that window and getting into the building” I blurted out.
“What the f-ck? Are you insane? ” he asked
“Yup! And we have 4 minutes to get into the building now ” I started clearly.
“What about the cameras ” he asked.
“Bruh, start climbing ” I told him.
