Chapter 86 :- Night of horrors

Ever since I married Rose, my role as a man of the house has been completely crushed ; that is to say that I’m nothing but a patsy in the house Whilst Rose runs the show. Sure it sucks but what can I say? After all, this is what I get for marrying a powerful dark witch in the first place.
It may be a tough struggle for me to handle my wife but there are moments when Rose can be docile and gentle and this is one of these moments. With our third child on the way, Rose has been a little calmer lately plus she has been working out alot so I’ve decided to make sure she feels relaxed but preferably, I would have loved her to stay put and concentrate on her pregnancy.

Presently, here I was in the kitchen trying to serve up Rose’s food and whilst I was doing that, I was humming excitedly thinking about the quality time I was going to spend with her later in our bedroom. It’s been quite a few days since Rose and I saw each other’s nakedness not to mention having sex and to be honest, I was feeling a little bit restless and tension was beginning to build up. After serving up the food and was about to take it to Rose, I had a sudden realization that made me laugh instantly. I had completely forgotten that human foods tastes very awful to pregnant witches. What made me laugh even more was that Rose too had forgotten, I guess telling her about the meal I made for her must have gotten into her head so much that she forgot what she needed was another variety of meal. In that moment as I was about to check the fridge for honey and Fura, I felt a suddenly chill around the house. My body at that moment felt stiff as if I was paralyzed which I wasn’t but for some reason, I felt as if something bad was going to bad. Suddenly in that awful quietness, I heard Rose’s cruel laughter outside the house and right there and then, I knew that something was up cause whenever she laughs like that, chaos follows.
As quickly I as could, I left the kitchen and headed straight to the living room where I peeped through the window to see what was going on. Outside the house, there stood Rose and a few meters from her was some rough looking wizard looking very angry and from what I saw and heard, I realized that the wizard’s name is Mayé and he was her EX. Nothing disturbs a man more than meeting his wife’s ex cause not only is it a bad feeling but it makes a man feel threatened. Seeing Rose’s ex outside the house talking to her made me feel jealous at first but then after hearing the conversation between them, I knew that my place in Rose’s heart was secured. It turns out there was a nasty fall out between the 2 of them and now Mayé is back to have his revenge. Seeing how this is an affair that is way out of my league, the best thing I could do was stay out of it even though it’s my job to stop this idiot from threatening my wife but then I did the exact opposite and it nearly cost me my life.
Honestly, I didn’t know what came over me but the next thing I knew was that I was right next to Rose pointing fingers at her ex blasting insults at him. For a moment, Rose looked at me surprisingly and so did her ex, they were both staring at me as if I was crazy and the next thing that followed was a cruel mocking laughter from Mayé and an embarrassing scolding from Rose.

Mayé ➡ (laughs) Nipa awọn oriṣa! Nitorina eyi ni ọkọ rẹ eniyan? Mo gbọdọ sọ pe awọn ireti mi ti jafara. Kini alailagbara………… (By the gods! So this is your human husband? I must say that my expectations has been wasted. What a weakling.)

Rose ➡ What do you think you’re doing?
.

Lionel ➡ I came to help you.
.

Rose ➡ HELP ME? What could you possibly do to help me? This is my business to handle. Your help is not needed.
.

Mayé ➡ Bawo ni awọn alagbara ti ṣubu!… (How the mighty have fallen!)……. So this is how have you’ve stooped? The Rose I fell in love with would never allow filthy human scum to talk back at her, let alone mate with her. You have betrayed your kind and your mother.

Rose ➡ SHUT UP!!!!
.

In that sudden moment, Rose flared up in anger and her magic unleashed instantly sending a powerful shockwave that sent me flying back to the front porch of our house. Maye stood smiling viciously thinking that he had played right into her sensitive spots but little did he realize that he had just made things worse. After that flaring up, I thought that Rose was going for the kill but then she remained still her but magic essence skyrocketed immensely making the ground to rumble steadily. After a short moment of silence, Rose turned towards my direction looking very pissed off. I gasped with shock as I saw half of her face covered in black marks and her eyes changing it’s color to white. Her nails grew like claws and her personality had changed completely as if she was a different person.

Lionel ➡ My God.. Rose honey… Are you?….
.

Rose ➡ (hoarse voice) GET BACK IN THE HOUSE! NOW!
.

Mayé ➡ (laughs) Kini ikuna ti ọkunrin kan… (What a failure of a man)…. Do as your wife says. Clearly I can see that she’s the man of your house.
.

Mayé’s words felt stabbed me deep that it made me tremble with anger. As much as I wanted to smash his face with my fists I decided to calm down and suppress my anger; besides dying isn’t something I plan on doing tonight but I swore in that moment that I would get even with Mayé once I get my chance. Wizard or not, he’s going to pay for coming here unannounced. Just as I was about to enter the house, something yanked me hard from behind pulling me backwards with incredible force and in that moment, the door of my house smashed into pieces and behind it emerged some kind of ghostlike decomposing entity whose appearance was horrifying and too ugly to look at. In a blink of an eye, more of this horrifying entity poured out my house like ants in great number and just as they were about to swarm the place, Rose trapped them inside a shadow dome which she had created instantly in that moment. At first, I was shocked and devastated about leaving my daughters inside but then it turns out Rose had already taken them to safety.

Lionel ➡ ROSE.. OUR GIRLS… THEY’RE….
.

Rose ➡ (hoarse voice) DON’T WORRY, THEY’RE SAFE.
.

Mayé ➡ Impressive! So you were aware that my puppets were already in the house… I wanted to offer your husband to them as a gift. It’s been centuries since I last fed them.
.

Rose ➡ Lionel, it’s time I get you somewhere safe.
.

Lionel ➡ But Hon..
.

Before I could finish my statement, Rose touched my arm and in a blink of an eye, I was teleported completely from my house and straight into the arms of Nancy. The stunning mermaid was rubbing her hair when I instantly appeared right next to her and to make it even awkward she was n-ked. Like a hungry cat that had seen it’s meal, Nancy threw away her brush and threw her voluptuous body right on top of me trying to seduce me but I couldn’t let it happen. This was no time to get laid or have any fun.

Nancy ➡ What’s the big idea Leo, darling? Did Rose toss you out?
.

Lionel ➡ I wish it was that but it isn’t. Look, I need to get back to Rose. She’s in trouble.
.

Nancy ➡ Well, I’m sure she can take care of herself and besides she sent you here for a reason. Going back to her might cause trouble.
.

Lionel ➡ I don’t care. She’s pregnant and I can’t let her deal with Mayé all on her own.
.

Nancy ➡ Wait,… Did you say Mayé?
.

Lionel ➡ That’s right.. Her Ex. Do you know him?
.

Nancy ➡ No, I only heard of him. If he’s back then he’s here for revenge but don’t worry, your wife can handle that filth. She did it before and she can do it again.
.

Lionel ➡ I can’t take chances. Are you going to help or not?
.

Nancy ➡ Sorry darling.. I’m doing something important as it is.
.

Lionel ➡ What’s so important about brushing your stupid hair?
.

In that moment, Nancy turned and glared at me viciously as her eyes changed like that of a cat. Her lovely skin soon began to showed silver scales like that of a fish. I realized what I did but before I could apologize, Nancy pointed one of her claws beneath my jaw.

Nancy ➡ Listen you meat, just because we get to screw and knack often doesn’t mean you can talk to me anyhow. I like you and if you try to overstep your bounds, I’ll gladly kill, f-ck and eat you with pleasure. My hair isn’t stupid by the way cause a mermaid’s beauty is everything to her and do you think it’s easy to maintain that?

Lionel ➡ I’m sorry.. I didn’t mean to lash out on you. I was just disturbed that’s all.
.

Nancy ➡ Get out of my house.
.

Lionel ➡ Please Nancy.. I need your help. Can I at least borrow your car?
.

Nancy ➡ Whatever, just take it and go.
.

Lionel. ➡ Thanks.. Uhm, can I at least get a weapon?
.

Nancy ➡ What kind of weapon?
.

Lionel ➡ The one that can do alot of damage to a dark wizard.
.

Nancy ➡ Hmm, let me check and see. I think I have something that can do just that.

🌹 Writer’s Pov 🌹

With Lionel now out of harm’s way, Rose decides to go wild and loose on her Ex, Maye and without wasting any more time, she unleashes her shadow magic imminently all at once manipulating the shadows all around her to act strangely. In a blink of an eye, the shadows begin to rise into the air merging with Rose whose body was now steadily transforming into something else. With the moon full and bright tonight, Rose’s power grew immensely as her transformation was taking place.
Meanwhile, Mayé who was witnessing what was going on began to sweat after sensing the tremendous magical power surging through his Ex. Fearing the worst case scenario, Mayé decides to put an end to her before things get out of hand. In that moment, Mayé grabs a small bottle on his hip, pours it’s content on his hand and then unleashes his necromancy magic by whispering some spells before blowing it straight into the atmosphere. Within a matter of seconds, dark ghostly entity began to emerge from the atmosphere in great number. Without hesitation, Mayé ordered his dark minions to descend on Rose with they did. Every last one of them that had appeared swarmed around Rose like flies feasting on a pile of shit.

Mayé ➡ That’s it you damned souls.. FEED ON THAT ASHEWO!! FEED ON HER UNTIL THERE’S NOTHING LEFT. FEAST ON HER.

For a moment, it seemed like Mayé had gotten what he had set out for but then it turned out that the fight was just beginning. In a blink of an eye, Mayé’s death monsters were scattered all around like pebbles and before they got the chance to regroup, they were sucked in by the shadows around them. Seeing that the ground he stood on was a death trap, Mayé teleported himself to the air and watched what had become of his ex.
With her transformation now complete, Rose’s body was now like the shadow itself, though her structure was still intact her feature however were gone except for her eyes. She was now a black entity with a humanoid form with bright white eyes like that of the stars. For a while, Rose was quiet but after examining herself, she laughed and yelled viciously before fixing her eyes on Mayé.

Rose ➡ Well, well, well. I was beginning to think that you had ran away.
.

Mayé ➡ I’m no coward. How did you attain this level of magical power?
.

Rose ➡ Enough talk. It’s time for you to die.
.

Mayé ➡ Not tonight.
.

In that sudden moment, Maye summons 5 supernatural corpses and each of these corpses were once powerful wizards. After summoning the dead wizards, Mayé then pours his magical energy into the corpses which enabled him to manipulate and control them. Despite what her ex had done, Rose didn’t flinch at all, instead she charged in straight towards Mayé going for the kill but before that could happen, one of the corpses that Mayé had summoned struck her with a powerful blast of flame. The flame was so devastating that its heat dried the trees that were standing around the place. Despite the intensity of the flames, Rose wasn’t affected at all but due to the brightness of the flames, she was being pushed back but she eventually began to fight her way forward. Seeing that his Ex was heading towards him, Mayé ordered all of the corpses to strike at once and in a perfect sync, which they all did. Each of the corpses executed their magical offenses perfectly, one had lightening magic, one had blood magic, one had summoning magic and one had alchemy. At first, the corpses dominated Rose with their magic attacks but unfortunately they couldn’t hold out for long.
Thanks to the moonlight and darkness that fueled Rose’s magic, she was able to break free and dominate Mayé’s corpses crushing them all to death with ease.

Shocked by this turn of events, Mayé decides to cast another necromancy spell but he was quickly intercepted by Rose’s shadow magic and unlike his, her own spell did alot of damage. Using her magic to alter the shadows, Rose shapes them into hundreds of monstrous dogs which she then unleashes on Mayé. Charging straight like hungry sharks, the dogs lurch themselves on Mayé biting him from all direction giving no chance to escape at all.
For a while, the sounds of Mayé screams and the angry growl of the dogs echoed the atmosphere not to mention the smell of blood that also filled the air. Just as things seemed over the necromance wizard, Mayé managed to break himself free from the jaws of the dogs by summoning hundreds of undead corpses in order to buy himself some time to escape. Due to his fatal injuries, Mayé couldn’t teleport away so all he could do was run for his life but his efforts soon ended in vain.
As Mayé was running through the dark and silent neighborhood of his Ex’s matrimonial home, Rose’s shadow dogs and her minions popped out from the all shadows in the neighborhood closing in on him. Seeing that he was still in the lion’s den, Mayé decides to fly straight into the atmosphere but just as he was about to do that, he was intercepted by Rose who grabbed the back of head and smashed his face on the walls of the house that were in the vicinity before catapulting him away like a stone.
Mayé on the other hand who was bruised and bleeding out badly decided to keep Rose and her underlings distracted by casting a necromancy spell that would keep them busy and as he was in the process of doing that, a black Mercedes which had suddenly appeared out of nowhere charged towards him with incredible speed and then knocked him down. The impact sent Mayé flying that he crashed into a kiosk but before the dark wizard could get back on his feet, Lionel instantly steps out of the car and glares at Mayé furiously like a raging bull. Despite his condition, Mayé couldn’t help but laugh mockingly at the sight of Lionel and in that moment, he realized that this was his grand opportunity to hurt his Ex so much more.

Mayé ➡ (laughs) Well, well, well.. Look who it is. The worthless being in the form of a man. To think that I was jealous of a loser like you.
.

Lionel ➡ Loser? Me? (chuckles) Ọmọ ale…. Last time I checked, you’re the one who’s covered in blood and let’s not forget that I ended up with your woman. I may be a patsy but at least, I get to make love to Rose every night and I can’t just get enough of her sweet cherry, ODE!
.

Exploding with rage like a pack of TNT, Mayé yells angrily and charges at Lionel with the intent to kill but he was soon countered with a devastating uppercut from the latter which sent him flying back straight on the kiosk. Stunned by the effect, Mayé stares at Lionel wondering how he managed to give him such a powerful blow.

Mayé ➡ You sneaky brat.. I may not be at full strength but I’m going to kill you.
.

Lionel ➡ You took the words right out of my mouth.
.

Getting back up on his feet once more, Mayé stretches his limbs and then charges towards Lionel exchanging blows with him. Like two bulls, the two fought hard and brutally with each trying to end the other and it didn’t take long before things got bloody and messy. Using all the means in his disposal to finish off Lionel, Mayé goes all out by biting Lionel and piercing his claws in the latter’s flesh. Realizing what Mayé was trying to do, Lionel gathers his strength and drops a devastating headbutt on Mayé’s face several times bursting up his nose and mouth. Mayé who couldn’t stand the pain releases Lionel living himself wild open. Making use of the opportunity granted to him, Lionel charges in on Mayé driving his knee in his midsection before following up with series of punches. Realizing that Lionel was about to bring him down, Mayé results to underhanded schemes by picking up a broken glass of bottle on the ground and then stabs Lionel with it. Mayé’s aim was pointed straight towards Lionel’s heart but luckily for the latter, he had managed to block the block with his hand but before things could get even uglier, Lionel manages drive a stunning kick between Mayé’s legs and with that, the two separated giving each other some space.

Mayé ➡ Your time is running out, you’re old and your body is at it’s limits.
.

Lionel ➡ I may be in my mid-fifties but I can still take a punch. I’m not as old as you think, Rose can attest to that.
.

Mayé ➡ ARRRGH!!! You have taken a fruit that isn’t yours and you have tasted it’s delicious nectar. Mark my words human, I will kill you for this ; you may have had your fun but you won’t live long to enjoy it forever.

Lionel ➡ Nothing lasts forever and I don’t mind dying just as long as Rose is out of your reach forever.
.

Mayé ➡ You think I’m interested in that whore? Not anymore but I hear your daughters are beautiful. Since I didn’t get their mother, I will just end up having the 2 of them instead.
.

Pissed by Mayé’s words, Lionel charges towards the dark wizard with clenched fists punching him ferociously with all his might. Despite trying to retaliate, Mayé’s efforts could not match the burning rage of Lionel and after taking a few dozens of punches, Maye was sent flying after being clobbered with another uppercut. Mayé who was now a bloody heap gasped as he noticed the rags strapped around Lionel’s hands like gloves and it was then that he knew how his rival was able to best him.

Mayé ➡ Clearly I underestimated you but that won’t happen again. I should have realized that you came here fully prepared. Those rags strapped to your arms are not ordinary ones, you have been using them to sap my strength and magic. The next time we meet, I will not let you surprise me.
.

Lionel ➡ There won’t be a next time. Prepare to die.
.

Suddenly just as Lionel was about to put an end to Mayé, the latter took off instantly running for his life. Lionel who was eager and determined to finish off Mayé for good followed him without hesitation. After running for short while, Mayé stops into an open space and then urges Lionel to come finish him and as usual Lionel came at him without delay but before he could get close to the dark wizard, dozens of undead corpses emerged from all directions closing in on them.

Mayé ➡ (laughs) FOOL!! your rage has blinded you and now you will die before my very eyes. These minions of mine will eat you until there’s nothing left of you.
.

Lionel ➡ What makes you think that I’m trapped? If there’s one thing I learnt from my experiences with your kind is to always expect the unexpected.
.

Mayé ➡ What are you talking about?
.

In that moment, Lionel brings out a bottle of anointing oil and holy water and begins to spray them around whilst reciting the poem about the valley of death. Mayé’s minions who were touched by the anointing oil and holy water began to burn and crumble into dust and this turn of events shocked Mayé to the very core. Mayé who was about to step in sensed Rose’s powerful magic heading towards his direction with great speed. Realizing that he was in no condition for another fight with his Ex, Maye ran for his life but before he could get far, Lionel threw his bottle of holy water towards Mayé’s direction. The bottle broke and some of the remaining holy water poured on Mayé’s head burning his skin like someone who was soaked in hot water. The pain of course was very excruciating for the dark wizard.

Mayé ➡ ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!
.

Lionel ➡ ÓGBÓÓ!!!….. Why don’t come back and face me!? Come back if you dare.
.

Mayé ➡ ENJOY YOUR VICTORY HUMAN!! WE WILL MEET AGAIN! THIS IS NOT OVERRRRR!!!!
.

With his voice echoing through the darkness, Mayé was gone but not minions. In fact, more of the undead corpses emerged on the streets like rats in a sewer. Lionel who was in the middle of the mess managed to keep himself out of the reach of this monsters but luckily for him, it wasn’t long before everyone of Mayé’s minions were cleared out. Shortly after Maye was gone, Rose suddenly appears in her shadow form scouting the area. Despite the shadow witch’s appearance, the undead corpses paid no heed to her except for Lionel who was standing on the roof of a small house. Within a blink of an eye, Rose extends the shadows all around the place making it to swallow the undead corpses all at the same time and within a matter of seconds, the streets were cleared and all was quiet once again.
Seeing that all was quiet, Lionel decides to get off the roof but before he could do that, Rose appears before him in her shadow state glaring at him. For a moment, there was silence between the couple but just as Lionel was about to break the silence, a heavy slap drops on his face.

Lionel ➡ OUCH!!! Are you crazy?
.

Rose ➡ (hoarse voice) It seems you’ve forgotten who you’re talking to.
.

Lionel ➡ Your voice is freaking me out. Can you revert back to your real form so that we can talk?
.

Rose ➡ (hoarse voice) Do you know how hard it is for me to resist the urge of killing you for disobeying me? If you want to live, better go and find something for me to eat.
.

Lionel ➡ But its past midnight!
.

Rose ➡ (hoarse voice) I don’t care. Get me something to eat or I’ll feed on you.
.

After that statement, Rose teleports and shortly after her departure, Lionel gets off the roof and heads straight to the place where he smashed Mayé with the car he borrowed from Mayé and whilst he was heading to that direction, Xeira appears on the scene through a puddle of water staring viciously at Lionel. Despite wanting to exact vengeance for the beat down she received from Rose, Xeira maintained her cool and then disappears back into the puddle.
