💊 Alex’s POV 💊
“Why….. I mean how did all dis happen?” I asked surprised
“My plan worked” Emma said
“What plan?” I asked
“You need to promise me you’ll not make the same mistake you made the last time, if I tell you about my plan, you have to promise me you’ll always do everything I tell you”
“Yeah, I promise, so what’s your plan?”
“I poisoned the William Sanders” Emma said
“What?!!” Jasmine and I exclaimed
“You poisoned the Prime Minister? How?” I asked
“His cook is a friend of mine and I made her put Aflatoxin in his food causing a tumor in his Pituitary gland and now, he needs the best Neurosurgeon to operate on him” Emma said
“But…. Aflatoxin is dangerous when consumed but it can’t cause a tumor in such a short period of time”
“That’s why my friend has being feeding him Aflatoxin for the past five years” Emma said
“What, five years?!” Jasmine exclaimed
“How? I mean, I don’t understand” I said
“Alice is a friend of mine, childhood friend, you should know her, we used to hang out together sometimes”
“Yeah yeah, I think I remember her”
“While I was on the run from William Sanders, she helped me out alot, I told her everything about me and we came up with this plan and we got her to be employed as William Sander’s cook so she’s been putting Aflatoxin on his food for the past five years” Emma explained
“When Aflatoxin is consumed for a long period it causes a tumor to grow right on top of the Pituitary gland and to remove such a tumor is not going to be easy, he’ll need….”
“He’ll need the best Neurosurgeon to operate on him and that’s where you come in, he needs you that’s why he cleared your name and gave you back your job”
“Am never going to operate on him, he deserves to die” I said
“Definitely he deserves to die and he will die but not yet”
“What do you mean?” I asked
“If we leave him to die now, the Nation will mourn him as a hero and I can’t allow that, he will die but the nation will be happy for his death, we will have to reveal how corrupt William Sanders is”
“How?” I asked
“William Sanders is a very corrupt official, he hijacks some of the money meant for the State to his personal account and he once had to purchase some planned for the international airport and he bought it from a second hand dealer for a reduced rate, the plane wasn’t functioning properly and it was responsible for the 2013 air crash where everyone died, I was also able to find out that evidence of his dealings are kept in what he called the red file and only he knows where he keeps it”
“Why would he keep the evidence when he knows it’s dangerous to him, why didn’t he destroy it?” Jasmine asked
“He used to threaten those that was involved with him in the deal, it’s was like a leash on them to make them remain loyal” Emma explained
“How did you find out all this?” I asked
“Remember Mr Lewis, president of the Neurological Society?” She asked
“Yeah”
“He’s a member of the Prime Minister’s cabinet and he is involved in his shady deals, that’s why I approached him in the first place” Emma said
“So he told you?” I asked
“Yeah, I was his secretary remember?”
“Yes but I don’t think he’ll tell you something that important just because you are his secretary so what did you do for him to tell you?” I asked and she kept quiet for a bit
“I slept with him but do not judge me okay? You do not what I’ve had to do to survive all those years, I sold my body and soul to keep living, sometimes I wanted to just commit sucide but the only thing that kept me going was my will to get revenge so it didn’t matter what I had to do as long as it helps me get my revenge”
“I wasn’t going to judge you Emma and am sorry, I should have been there to support you but I couldn’t and you had to go through that nightmare alone” I said
“It’s fine now since am finally getting closer to my goal. When the Prime Minister calls for you and ask you to operate on him, you’ll demand for the red file and in exchange, you save his life” Emma said
“If I heard you well, you said that file consist of evidence of all his shady deals, he will never give that up” Jasmine said
“He will if he wants to live, he loves his work and he loves his life more and we are going to take both of them from him, he will give you the red file but you won’t keep your end of the bargain, you are going to let him die in the operation room” Emma said
“What?!” Jasmine exclaimed while I just stood surprised
“When he’s dead, We’ll release the file and everyone will know his deeds and no one will mourn him as a hero so are you in Alex?” Emma asked
“Yes I am, it’s great plan” I said
“What!! No! You aren’t going to kill anyone Alex” Jasmine said
“That man killed my parents”
“I know but you can’t kill him, that will only make you a murderer” she said
“That man took everything away from me, I was right there and he shot my parents and then made forget, then he played me and came to me to save his daughter, I didn’t remember anything and I thought he was a good man, I got close to him and sometimes he was like a fatherly to me, I was laughing and dinning with the man that murdered my parents but I had no idea, even when I suspected him I refused to believe him cause I thought he was a good man, he not only messed up my life, he played with my emotion too and that man doesn’t deserve to keep breathing, he has to die even if it means I’ll have to become a murderer”
“This absurd Alex, after you’ve get the red file from him and you submit it to the police, operate on him and save him then after that he’ll be arrested and he’ll spend the rest of his life in jail, that’s what you should do not kill him” Jasmine said
“You know nothing about the pain we’ve had to go through Jasmine” Emma said “Each time it occurs to me that the man that murdered my parents is still breathing, you don’t know how my heart breaks, that man is a monster and monsters aren’t locked up, they are killed”

“You won’t be able to do it Alex” Jasmine said looking at me
“After all that man has done? I will do it” I said still looking at her and she paused for a while
“Am dissapointed in you Alex, am going home” she said and walked out
“You must not get swayed Alex” Emma said
“Yeah, I know, William Sanders has to die” I said and she nodded
“I’ll call Tony to discharge you and you’ll go rest at home for the day since you’ll be resuming work tomorrow, if the Prime Minister calls you, you know our plan and I don’t need to tell you how to act do I?” She asked
“Don’t worry, I know what to do and I won’t fuck up this time” I said
💊 Ryan’s POV 💊
I was about leaving my office for the day when the door suddenly opened and Dad came in again
“What are you doing here now?” I asked
“I was just coming back from the Prime Minister’s residence and I decided to come here again” he said
“Why? I already told you am not interested in anything you want me to do”
“What’s wrong with you Ryan?” He asked
“You Dad, you are what’s wrong, all you’ve ever care about is what you can use me to achieve, I worked my ass off and did terrible things just to make you proud but I just recently realized that you do not care about me but only about my achievement” I said
“That’s not true Ryan”
“It is true, you sent me to a war zone and I came back on crutches but you didn’t care, all you were concerned about is the Prime Minister and Alexander Sanchez”
“Am concerned about them because of you Ryan! I wasn’t born a rich kid, I had to work my way up doing just about anything, you had no idea what I had to go through to be where I am today, all I want is for you to be successful but because of your stupid emotions, you loosed a great opportunity today” he said
“I don’t care about success, I just want you to care about me”
“I do care about you that’s why I want you to be successful and am sorry I sent you to that war zone, you do not know how much I regretted it when I heard you guys were held captive by the Taliban forces” he said as he moved closed to me and hugged me
“Am sorry Ryan, am sorry for making you feel like you aren’t loved but trust me, I do love you and I care about you too” he said
“Am sorry too Dad” I said
“Just don’t ever think that I do not care about you again” he said and I smiled
“So you said something about the Prime Minister?”
“Yeah but it’s already too late and now am pretty sure the Prime Minister is going to die in Alex’s hand and if that happens then am next, Alex will come after me too” Dad said
“What are you saying Dad, I don’t understand
“What do you mean Dad? What are you talking about?”
“I did something Ryan, back then when you were still a kid, I did something to get to where I am today” he said
“What did you do?” I asked
“William Sanders came to me back then and offered me a deal, I help him become Prime Minister and he’ll offer me a position in his cabinet in return, I was a desperate man who wanted to get higher in position so I agreed, I helped him kill the Prime Minister back then and Alex’s parents who were working under me found out that the Prime Minister was murdered and wanted to report to the police, so William and I had to take care of them, things got messy and another couple got involved and we killed them all, I personally pulled the trigger to kill Alex’s parents on William’s orders and now, Alex is coming after us” Dad said
“You aren’t saying anything” Dad said after a while
“Well am just surprised but I do not blame you Dad, it’s every man for himself in this world you taught me that and you did what was necessary to get to the top, I’ve also done some very bad things myself so I don’t blame you perhaps, since Mom died in that plane crash, you are the only parent I have left so I can’t loose you” I said and he smiled
“Thanks a lot Ryan” he said
“Take me to the Prime Minister” I said
“What? Why?” He asked
“If Alex is coming after you guys, then I want to be of help, Alex is my enemy too, I’ve been dragging a position with him for long” I said and Dad nodded
“Sure, let’s go” he said

I looked at my bedside clock as the alarm rang
It’s morning already and I didn’t even get to sleep much
I was thinking throughout the night
I was discharged from the hospital yesterday and I’ll start working again today but the only thing on my mind is Jasmine
I called her last night be she won’t pick up my calls
“Am sorry Jasmine but I have to this, I can’t let William Sanders live” I said aloud
I stood up from my bed, bathed and wore my suit
While I was wearing the suit I remembered the kinds of clothes Jasmine bought for on me when we went to Brazil, well I was the one that bought it for myself since I paid for it
I still have the clothes in my closet
I smiled as I remembered everything that happened back then
My phone suddenly rang and it was the Prime Minister calling
I picked it up
🗨️ “Alexander Sanchez” he called
“William Sanders” I replied and he chuckled
🗨️ “Come to my residence, we have something to talk about” he said and ended the call without giving me a chance to reply
I took my car keys and went to my car and drove straight to his residence
I pray this plan works out
💊 Prime Minister’s POV 💊
Alex walked and I looked at him
“Good morning Alexander Sanchez” I said
“There’s nothing good about this morning” he replied
“Everything about this morning is good Alex since I gave you your job back”
“Am I supposed to be grateful considering the fact that you took it away in the first place? How did you even know I had hand tremors?” He asked
“You were someone that knew something dangerous about me even though you didn’t remember so I had some people watch you from the shadows, I know everything about you” I replied
“Then am sure you’ll know that I don’t have much patients too, why did you call me here?” He asked
“Here” I said and I gave him my medical report
He studied it then laughed
“No wonder you look so pale, I guess nemesis have finally caught up with you cause you deserve every bit of this illness, I hope you have a very painful death” he said as he turned to leave
“You have to operate on me” I said and he stopped and laughed
Then he turned back and looked at me
“I thought you were smart but I guess your smartness has diminished with your age, I will never operate on you” he said
“You have to Alex, you must, you took an oath to save people’s lives, you can’t go back on it now”
“You also took an oath to be transparent in your job, how’s that coming up?” He asked
“What do you mean?” I asked
“You want me to perform a very difficult surgery to save your life? Then I want something in return” he said
“What’s that? Money?”
“I heard all the money I need, I want you to hand over the red file”
“What?! How did you know about the red file?” I asked surprised
“That’s none of your concern so now the red file in exchange, I’ll save your life, if you disagree, you die either way it’s a win win for me”
“How do I know you’ll not leave me to die if I give you the red file?” He asked
“You’ll just have to trust me” he said with a smile
“That red file, if I give you that means am going to spend the rest of my life in jail cause you’ll definitely take it to the station” I said
“Of course but at least you’ll still be breathing”
“You don’t know how important my political career is to me, snatching that away from me will be worse than killing me and I can’t allow that” I said
“Then I wish you a painful death William Sanders” he said and you turned to leave
“You might want to look at this before you leave” I said as I showed him a video clip on my phone and his countenance changed
“What the hell did you do with Jasmine?!!” He yelled as he grabbed my collar
“Calm down Alex, I’ve already ordered my men to kill Jasmine if anything happens me” I said
“How did you know about Jasmine? How did you kidnap her?” He asked
“I helped” Ryan said as he walked into the sitting room and I smiled
“I told the Prime Minister how Jasmine is very special to you, I also told him where to find her” Ryan said
“You asshole!!” Alex said as he punched Ryan and he fell to the ground
“Enough of that Alex, unless you want something bad to happen to your dear Jasmine” I said and he stopped
“What do you want from me?” He asked
“It’s simple, save my life and I’ll let Jasmine go” I said with a smile
