ALPHA DOROTHY
(The First Female Alpha)
Chapter 7
Dorothy stared in awe at Amanda until she was out of sight. She couldn’t believe what she just saw and heard.
“Is it my fault that I got paired with Xavier? She’s supposed to be worried about me but instead, she was just being absurd” Dorothy thought to herself
Dorothy decided to shrug the thoughts off and continued gulping down the wine until she was drunk and finally slept off.
*Three days later*
Amanda visited Dorothy in her mansion, deciding to apologize for her behavior on Dorothy’s birthday party. She realized that she had to be close to Dorothy if she ever wants to be noticed by Xavier and that was the only reason she was apologizing.
When she arrived at the mansion, Dorothy was busy with some documents and didn’t even spare her a glance. After about two hours, she was finally done and that was when she was able to look at Amanda.
“To what do I owe this surprise visit?” Dorothy asked with a smirk
“I’m sorry for my rude behavior the last time. I was a bit drunk and that was why I said those things to you. I’m really sorry” Amanda said soberly
“Well, I don’t think you are. If you’re really sorry, you would have been here before now. Don’t you think so?” Dorothy asked with a straight face
“I was scared because I didn’t know how you were going to react” Amanda lied
“You were scared? Did I just hear Amanda Bruce say she was scared? You were scared of your best friend? Are you kidding me right now?” Dorothy scoffed
“I’m sorry. Anyway, I’m here now so please forgive me” Amanda shrugged
“I don’t have a problem with you. Suit yourself and do as you please, I have things to do” Dorothy said and stood up
She has been noticing Amanda’s strange behavior for a while but doesn’t know what exactly is wrong. She hoped that her best friend would come around very soon so they can start treating themselves like sisters again.
*Moon Valley pack*
*A week later*
Nancy Wayne, Xavier’s little sister was currently sick. She has been sick since about three days ago. First, she was taken to a hospital but the doctors couldn’t find out what was wrong with her.
Later on, Xavier called the doctor of the pack and that was when they discovered she had contacted a rare disease that barely had no cure. The only cure lies with yellow stone pack and it was the yellow stone which was the symbol of the pack.
The stone had to be used on her within two weeks, else nothing and no one will be able to save her.
Xavier seems to be in a dilemma as he doesn’t know what to do. He knows that Dorothy will never give the stone to him so easily considering what is going on between them. It’s not even something that can be stolen too because it’s going to be under tight security.
Jack entered the room and saw Xavier staring into space. He sighed deeply and sat beside Xavier in bed.
“You don’t have to think so much. How do you think Nancy will feel to see you in this state?” Jack asked
“What do you want me to do then? There’s no way Dorothy will agree to give me the stone so easily. You know how much she hates me, coupled with the fact that she wants us to be together. Unless I agree to her condition, she won’t give me the stone” Xavier said
“Then you just need to agree to her condition and you can cure Nancy” Jack shrugged
“What are you talking about? Are you suggesting I give in to her condition of spending the rest of my life with her?” Xavier scoffed
“Then what? Do you want to loose Nancy just because of this? You know how much your sister means to you so don’t make a mistake you will regret for the rest of your life” Jack concluded and left
“I can’t loose Nancy because of this. Does it mean I have to succumb to Dorothy’s will? Why did the moon goddess decide to do this to me now? Dorothy is going to mock me for the rest of my life and I have a feeling that she’s still going to attach more conditions. The yellow stone is not given to just anyone and if eventually given to someone, there are lots of conditions attached to it. I need to prepare my mind for what is to come” Xavier thought to himself
He stood up and went to Nancy’s room and tears welled up in his eyes as soon as he saw her. She was in a pitiful condition and he couldn’t believe that his own sister was the one in that state.
“Nancy, big brother is really sorry. I shouldn’t have thought twice before saving you no matter what condition was made for me. Seeing you like this really makes my heart ache and I promise to pull myself together soon and get the cure for you. Until then, please stay alive and strong for me” Xavier concluded and left
*Dorothy’s mansion*
Dorothy was seated in the sitting room while watching a TV show when one of the maids came in.
“Yes” she asked without looking up
“I’ve been asked to tell you ma’am, that your attention is needed in the main mansion” the maid said
“My attention is needed? But why? They couldn’t have found out that Xavier is my mate right? Even if they do, it doesn’t matter. It’s not like they are going to lecture me on what to do” Dorothy thought to herself and rolled her eyes in the end
“I’ll be right there” she said and dismissed the maid
Dorothy was soon ready and in a few minutes, she arrived at the main mansion which was used for the pack.
“Be fast with whatever you have to say because I have things to do” she said as she walked to her seat.
“We had from one of our sources that moon valley pack might be needing our yellow stone soon” one of the council members said
“Our yellow stone? But why?” Dorothy asked becoming interested
“Well, I heard Xavier’s sister is sick and the only thing that can cure her is our stone” someone else answered
“Wow! This is really interesting. Why did you call for this meeting then” Dorothy asked with a frown
“Well, the yellow stone is really important to us so we can’t just give it out anyhow. We’ve surpassed moon valley pack now so I don’t think we have anything to ask them. Hence, we’ve all decided not to give it to them if they ask for it” they concluded
“Even though you’ve decided, my decision still remains the ultimate one. I might give it to them and I might not but if I do, I promise to keep it safe. Dismissed!” she stood up and left without giving them a chance to speak
“This girl is going to lead this pack to ruin”
“She won’t even listen to whatever we have to say like she’s the sole founder of the pack”
“Even her father respected our decision when she was alive. Who does she think she is?”
The members of the council let out their complains but none of them was bold enough to say it to Dorothy’s face.

Chapter 8
Xavier was before Dorothy’s mansion, seated in his car. He has been wanting to turn back ever since they started the journey but Jack wouldn’t let him.
“Do I really have to see her? Can’t you go on my behalf?” he asked with a sigh as he stared at the mansion
“I told you already. You have to do this yourself or Dorothy might think you’re looking down on her and you will loose your only chance to save your sister” Jack said
“Fine then! Go in” Xavier reluctantly said
The gate was opened after the driver honked for a few minutes and they drove in. Xavier didn’t fail to show how amused he was as he stared at the gigantic building before him.
He has heard a lot of things about Dorothy’s mansion but was unable to visit because of his pride.
“Wow! So this kind of beautiful building actually exists in this state?” he asked, unable to hide his amusement
“So you’re also acknowledging that her mansion is beautiful right?” Jack asked with a smirk
“Uhhm! It can’t be compared to mine no matter what” he said
“Really? You’re still so full of yourself. Why don’t you just admit that her mansion is incredible? It won’t hurt to say the truth for once” Jack rolled his eyes
“Whatever! We’re here for something important, so focus and don’t be distracted” Xavier concluded and went in
Dorothy was seated on the queen-like chair that was specially made for her with a glass of wine in her hand. She was fully prepared for Xavier’s visit and she had an elegant dress on that screamed power and wealth.
“Welcome to my humble abode” Dorothy said and slowly sipped her wine
“You don’t have to pretend to be courteous. I doubt there’s anyone in this room that hasn’t seen your true colours” Xavier said
“Oh really? I didn’t know about that! Anyway, since they’ve all seen my true self, it won’t hurt to play cool just for today right?” Dorothy smiled
“Whatever! Suit yourself!” Xavier mumbled
“So why are you here? I have a really busy schedule so it was hard to make time for you guys. I’ll appreciate it if you can be fast with whatever you have to say” Dorothy said
“You know why we’re here so don’t pretend like you don’t know. We are here for the yellow stone that belongs to the yellow stone pack” Xavier said simply
“The yellow stone? You’ve got to be kidding me! If you have nothing important to say, I will like to take my leave now” Dorothy said with a smile and stood up
“I’m dead serious about wanting the yellow stone” Xavier said through gritted teeth
“Really? You know what the yellow stone is so how can you ask for it? What makes you think I will ever give it to you?” Dorothy asked sitting down again
“I…. will do whatever you want” Xavier said with his eyes shut
“Whatever…. I want? You will really do anything?” Dorothy smirked
“Yes, I will do anything” Xavier said more confidently this time
“Fine then! I only have three conditions for giving you the stone. The first condition is that you get married to me as soon as possible. The second condition is that moon valley pack will always come second after yellow stone pack. The third and final condition is that I get to make all the decisions after our marriage. I mean decisions for myself, for you and your pack sometimes. If you’re okay with the condition, the yellow stone will be delivered to you tomorrow. If not, you can leave because I’m not interested in negotiating the terms with you” Dorothy concluded
“Who the hell does this girl think she is? Just because I’m at her mercy right now, she thinks she can do as she pleases? She’s going to regret this very soon, I will make sure she does” Xavier thought to himself
“Fine! I agree to your terms and conditions so I’ll be expecting it tomorrow” Xavier said and stood up to leave.
“It would have been nice to have a drink with you but I don’t think that will be possible today, probably next time.” Dorothy shrugged
Xavier stared at Dorothy hatefully for the last time and finally left her mansion. It’s like his hatred towards her multiplied in ten folds after her terms.
“Her terms aren’t so bad. They are bearable and I think it’s a good thing that she didn’t ask for something else. She’s a smart girl so I believe she won’t make wrong decisions for you” Jack said
“Can you not talk about Dorothy for a while? I hate her so much right now so don’t say anything that has to do with her” Xavier said
“There’s no way you can escape her now after all the demands she made. You have to start planning your wedding and it’s definitely going to be one of the biggest weddings that has ever taken place” Jack said dreamily
“Jack!!” Xavier screamed
“Fine! Fine! I won’t say a word” Jack said in surrender
Throughout the day, Xavier kept thinking about Dorothy’s absurd terms and how he agreed to them.
“Was I really in my right state of mind when I agreed to that? Whatever! That is not much for Nancy to regain consciousness. I want to see my little sister’s smile once again” Xavier thought to himself
Dorothy on the other hand was so happy that Xavier agreed to her terms. Even though getting married to Xavier isn’t really what she wants, she was happy that she would get to control the mighty Xavier.
“What’s making you so happy that you are smiling to yourself?” Amanda asked, taking a sit
“Try taking a guess” Dorothy shrugged
“Uhhm! You won a huge contract?” Amanda asked uninterestedly
“No, it’s not even related to that” Dorothy frowned
“Then it’s what? I can’t think of something else” Amanda said
“It’s fine, I wasn’t expecting you to guess it correctly anyway. The reason behind my smile and happy mood is Xavier. He finally agreed to get married to me and not just that, he agreed to all my terms” Dorothy said happily
The smile on Amanda’s face vanished as she stared at Dorothy as if she had suddenly grown horns.
“What are you talking about?” she managed to stutter
“Isn’t it incredible? The almighty Xavier bent to my will, I’m so amazing” Dorothy praised herself, oblivious of the fact that Amanda was staring at her murderously
“So you guys are getting married after all?” Amanda mumbled to herself
“No matter what happens and no matter what it takes, I’m going to make sure that wedding doesn’t take place” Amanda thought to herself while staring at Dorothy with a fake smile
