Chapter fifteen
He can’t. Oh Lord. Let this be a dream but it wasn’t. Harrell wasn’t talking to me. I was a total stranger. I couldn’t even say hello nor talk to him. Exam was over. Like always, I came first. Harrell was getting ready to enter college while I was busy with my dream life. I’m sure Aegon would have noticed the changes in me. I didn’t talk much nor eat like I used to do.
“What’s going on in,side you”? He sat beside me.
“Nothing”.
“Hmmm. Could it be…….the boy you told me about. He dump you”?
“I don’t want to talk about it. When are we going to reach the mount”?
“By tomorrow”.
“How’s your wound? Sorry I didn’t attend to you”.
“It’s getting better”.
“Good”. I got up.
“Where are you going”?
“I’m having headache so I want to rest”.
“You still ain’t gonna talk about it”.
“No”. Then he grabbed my. “What are you doing”?
“This”. He put a necklace around my neck. “Looks good on you”.
“Thanks”. I managed to smile.
“I might be obstinate but you can rely me as a friend. Do not refrain from doing so”.
“Hmmm”. I nodded.
“Now let’s get you to bed”. He walked me in,side.
“Why aren’t we flying”? I asked as we walk.
“We can’t. It’s forbidden”.
“I see”. We start walking. Then I notice some strange clothes. “What’s this”?
“Don’t touch it”. But I’d already did. “Holly f-ck”. Troop of men were running towards us. We ran.
“I told you not to touch. How is it you’re so daft”?
“So I’m daft. You should have told me”.
“It’s too late for that now. They’re after us”.
“Are they going kill us”?
“Worse than kill so we better run”.
“I’ll hold them off”. I stopped.
“What”! Aegon exclaimed. “Do you think they’re human. They are monsters for goodness sake. I wouldn’t wanna loose you”.
“At least we should try. I’m going”. I left.
“What should we do now my prince. Should I follow her”?
“No. Let her. We’ll find somewhere to hide”. They left.
I was captured and tied around a tree. Aegon was right. They weren’t human. They got one eye and that makes me more scared.
“What should we do with her”? One asked.
“She’s of no use”.
“Let’s eat”! One shouted.
“Yes. Let’s eat her. She’ll looks tasty”.
“Wouldn’t that be too hasty”. Someone spoke.
“My lady”. They all all bowed.
“Where’s the prince”?
“We lost him. But we got one of his accomplice”. Then she looked at me. I could tell she was a witch with her long white hair.
“The chosen one. So you were the one trying to break the curse. Guess that’s not gonna happened”.
“I’m from the bloodline of Khan. I command you to release me”. I said and she laughed.
“Easy girl. I won’t hurt you. Khan was a good friend of mine. It’s so sad for him to die that way. So I must avenge for his death. The curse wasn’t enough”.
“So you were the who cursed Aegon and his men”.
“That fool thought you he could kill me with a mere sword. I’m the most powerful priestess. No one can stop me. Not even you”.
“Why are you doing this? Vengeance? You’ll only cause more harm”.
“I don’t care. I’ve loved Khan since I was a child and seeing him die such is such a tragedy event to me. I must avenge for his death”.
“You killed Aegon father”?
“His dad wasn’t welcomed”.
“And yet you killed him”?
“I’m tired of all this conversation. Bring her him”. They grab me in and sat me on a stool.
“What’re you gonna do to me”?
“Nothing dear. Just gonna give you a little task”. She laughed and start chanting in some strange language. A monster with snakes at it end came out. She cut a piece of the snake and another grew in it place. I was getting scared.
“It’s not gonna hurt. Just stand still”. She walked towards me.
“Please stop. Don’t do this”.
“I know you might not know what this is but when implanted in your body, my task will be done and you’ll feel like a new person”.
“No. Please___”.
“Kill Aegon”. She put it around my neck and it entered. I could feel the energy running through my body. I start to feel dizzy. Then I passed out.
“Princess”. Bayern shouted as he saw me.
“Where’s Aegon”?
“He went to search for you”.
“Oh. That’s quite cool of him”. I smiled. “Can you teach me some magic word? I mean bad ones. That can kill someone instantly. Just like those monsters”.
“Actually, I don’t know any of that”.
“You do. Please find some”.
“I really don’t know. I’m sorry princess”. He left.
“Piss. What a jerk. I better find something to kill him”. Then I saw Aegon. “Aegon”. I shouted and smiled.
“I thought you were dead”. He walked towards me.
“I don’t die easily”.
“Looks like you’re in a good mood”. He sat. “What did they do to you”?
“It’s good to see you. Where’s Bayern”?
“He left not long ago”. I sat beside him.
“You should go”.
“Why? I want to stay here a little longer”. I rest on his shoulder.
“Oh my”. He push my head away. “What the hell are you doing”? He got up.
“What’s wrong with you? Can’t I sleep on your lay or what”? He stared into my eyes.
“This is not like you”.
“Yeah. All I’ve to do is eat. I’m so hungry”. I got up. “Where’s Bayern anyway”? I turned to leave and Aegon held me. “What”? He then hug me.
“I’m glad you’ve changed”.
“Hum….. Good”. I pat him on his back. “Can you now let go of me”. He then released me.
“Let’s go”.
“To where”.
“I don’t know. Just anywhere”. He pulled me away.
I opened my eyes only to see two guys staring at me.
“How do you feel”? Aegon asked.
“I….”. I sat upright. “Why asking? Anyway I feel better and stronger than before”.
“That’s good to hear”. They both smiled.
“But why are you two acting strange”? I took a curiosity look at them.
“Well…..hummm…”. Bayern stammered.
“Happy birthday”.
“Birthday? Today’s not my birthday”.
“Oh that’s right. We must have forgotten the date. Right Bayern”?
“What? Hum…. Yes. We thought it was today”.
“I think you two are hiding something from me”. I got down from the bed and move my hand to pull my top. “Why are you still here? I want to undress”.
“Ohhhh”. They both left. I smirked.
“Fools”. I looked into the mirror. “Did those fool think they could kill me”. I touched the back of my neck and could still feel the snake moving. “I can’t die. Not until I kill you”.
I was in school. Everyone was busy with the send off party.
“Hey”. It was Belle.
“Hi there”.
“The air smell nice”. She breath in the air. “Isn’t it”?
“Yeah”. I said lowly.
“Why? What’s wrong”?
“Nothing. Just busy with the preparation”. I entered the hall.
“Liar”.
“What do you mean by that”?
“You’re hurt Kelly. I can see it in your eyes”.
“It’s nothing. I’m totally fine”.
“If you say so, can you come to the club with me”?
“Club? No way”. I said and she sighed. “What’s wrong? Are you also having hærd time”? She nodded
“I thought going to club might help me”.
“You should have told me that earlier. Remember we share our burden together”.
“Thanks Kelly”. She hugged me. “Just wear something s€×y”.
“For that, I can’t say. I’ve to go. Bye”. I left.
