“Yeeeh. Whooohoo”. Julia shouted.
“What the hell is wrong with you”. I shouted at her.
“She’s happy”. Wayne said.
“Then keep it to yourself”. I frown.
“Are you done packing”? Mom stepped out.
“Yes”.
“Then let’s get going”.
“Please say hi to Rhaegar for me”. Julia said.
“I don’t even know who that is”. I stepped out.
It was such a nice ride. I stepped out of the car and stare at the huge building before me. It’s been two years now. Now I’m gonna be a college girl. I’m going to be a popstar and Rhaegar? Don’t even know who that is.
“Be a good girl”. Mom shouted as she drove off.
“Sure”. I smiled at her. “So this is what L.A is”. I looked around. My phone rang. It was Harrell. “Hello”.
“Hey. What’s up”?
“Just got here”. I pulled my box and start to walk.
“L.A is such a good place. You’ll get used to it”. Someone bumped into me and my phone fell.
“Hey. Watch your step”. He left.
“This place is so…..”. I picked my phone up. It was broken. “Oh no. Mom just got me this phone”.
This school is just hell. I regret coming here. I drop my bag in my locker.
“Nice trousers”. A guy said to me.
“I……. Thanks”. I faked a smile and left. I was at the practice room working on my voice when suddenly, I heard a shout. “What’s going on”?
“Come on girls. We’ve to go”. The teacher left. I stepped out. There were tons of cars outside.
“Is the president here”? I said to myself. Then a girl almost pushed me.
“Hey”.
“What? You better get your ass out here”. I was annoyed. I turned to leave but something stopped me. It was a man. I’ve kinda see him before. Just couldn’t remember where. Some men were dragging a girl out of the school.
“She was found in the class”. They told the guy.
“I swear I didn’t know. I was listening to music. Please spare me”. The girl cried.
“Expel her”. He said and entered. His guards followed.
“Who the hell is he”? I said aloud.
“Someone might hear you”. A girl said to me. “Diana Dubois, but the girls call me D.D”.
“Kelly Kent”.
“You seem to be new here”.
“Just got in”.
“Guess that’s why you didn’t know the rules”.
“Who was that guy”?
“”Rhaegar”.
“Rhaegar”? Isn’t that the guy Julia was talking about. Oh God.
“Yeah. He’s a star and the owner of this school. He’s also a student but he’d an accident. His Mom and Dad died in a plane crash but he survived it. He’d been in coma for two years after gotten into a car accident but you know what, he survived it. Isn’t that cool. He’s kind of mean but he’s sweet”.
“How can someone be mean and sweet”?
“Isn’t he handsome”?
“I think I’ve met him before”.
“Maybe on TV”.
“Can’t say”.
“Nice to meet you. I’ve to get going to class”. She left.
I shared room with three girls. Alice, Domina and M.J. Alice’s from Las Vegas while Domina and M.J were L.A chicks.
“Your phone’s ringing Kelly”.
“ID”?
“Your brother”.
“Oh”. I picked it. “Charlie”. I smiled.
“How’re you doing over there”?
“Good. How’s Mom”?
“She’s fine. I was hoping maybe you need some cash”.
“No. I’m totally fine. Thanks”.
“Okay then. Bye”. He cut off.
“Hey guys I. We’re going shopping”. Domina said. “Curtly’s taking us”.
“I___”.
“No objection Kelly”. She cut in.
“I was gonna say I need another boot”.
“Then let’s get going”.
We were all assembled in the hall. Only the freshers and that mean jerk was among the judges. I was with my script revising the lyrics. I’m sure everyone were fully prepared cause only 50 people would be admitted. My name was called. I stepped on the stage.
“You’re Kelly Kent”?
“Yeah”.
“Eighteen. You weight 48kg”. The mean jerk said.
“Yeah”.
“Show me what you got then”. I took the mic and began to sing.

“Yeah”.
“You’ve a good voice Miss Kent but not well sound”.
“Actually, I’m new into music”.
“Well thanks”. I stepped down.
My name wasn’t among the fifty student. I felt like crying.
“We’ll give the mic to Sir Rhaegar”. He spoke.
“Y’all did well but not that good and Miss Kent, you’ve a good voice but doesn’t know how to use it and your song lyrics are quite interesting. I’ll give you a chance”. A smile lit my face. “That’s all”. He got up and left.
“You’re lucky”. M.J said to me. “Rhaegar isn’t the type to give someone a chance”.
“I think that guy isn’t as bad as I thought”. I said.
“In your dreams. Just don’t fall for him”.
“Why”? I asked.
“There’s this saying that he’s a wizard”. I laughed. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. No one would believe that but if you fall for him, there’s no cure for it”.
“I can’t. At least I’ve my man”.
“Can I see his picture again”? Alice begged.
“Please”. Domina and MJ said together.
“Okay but don’t fall for him. He’s mine”. I showed them Harrell picture.
“Oh my”. MJ collected the phone from me. “Isn’t he cute”?
“You’re so lucky Kelly”. Domina said.
“Oh. Just look at his eyes”.
“Hey”. I collected the phone from them. “He’s mine”.
“Tsk tsk tsk. Keep it to yourself”. Just then Harrell call entered. “Pick it and put it to speaker”.
“I thought you said I should keep it to myself”. I picked it. “Hey babe”.
“What’s up”?
“Cool. I passed the test”.
“Wow. That’s lovely”.
“How’s things over there”!
“Good. Can we video chat. I wanna see your face”.
“I…..hum”. MJ urge me to say yes. “Okay but my friends are here and I’m not wearing makeup”.
“You’re beautiful you know and I wouldn’t mind seeing your friends”.
“Okay then”. It was switched to video mode.
“Hi”. Alice said.
“This are my roommates. Alice, Domina and MJ”.
“Nice to meet you”. He said.
“Thanks. You’re so hot”. MJ said.
“Well thanks”. He laughed.
“I think that’s enough”. I got up and entered the bathroom and locked the door.
“Why did you do that”?
“They wouldn’t let me talk”.
“Okay then. You’ve gotten so beautiful and…….”.
“And what”?
“You’re skipping meals aren’t you? You’ve gotten so ski-ny”.
“I’ve to keep to the actual weight”.
“That’s unfair”. He said and I smiled.
“I missed you”.
“I’ll be back soon”.
“Sure. I’ve to go now”.
“Okay. Bye”. The line went dead. I opened the door only to meet three girls on the floor.
“Were you guys eavesdropping”?
“No. We were just looking around”. They left.
“You guys are something else”. I laughed.
I dropped my book in my locker. Then I turned around only to find a huge guy in front of me.
“How can I help you”?
“My name’s Sam”.
“Kelly”.
“I’ve been noticing you all this while. I want you”.
“I’m sorry. I’ve someone else”.
“Don’t care”.
“Look I don’t double date. I don’t know how you do it here”.
“Meet me here by 10pm”. He shoved a paper into my hand. “I’ll wait for you darling”. He winks and left.
“This guy is crazy”. I threw it away. “I mean, this place is crazy”. I walked away angrily.
I was at the field taking some air. Rhaegar too was there playing his guitar.
“Hi”. I greeted. He removed his headset. “I’m Kelly Kent and thank you for giving me a chance to prove myself”. He just stared at me. “Hello”.
“You should leave. Your voice wasn’t that good. You should practice more since you’ve a lot to learn and I’m sure you don’t know the rules”.
“I hate this rules”. I said to MJ. “I mean I’m not a kid anymore. I can only use the pool or field whenever Rhaegar isn’t around. Does that make sense. It’s not like he’s God or something”.
“We’ve no choice or to leave this school”.
“I’d better talk some sense into his head”.
“You dare not”.
“Of course I dare not”. I smiled wickedly.
