Chapter 47 :- Enemy of my enemy.

🌹 LOLA 🌹

The key to achieving victory in battle is not by strength or numbers ; the key is *to know your enemies objectives, strength and weaknesses *. After our mission was sabotaged by the Executioners, everything fell apart. First, Sonny was missing and I and the rest were kidnapped by Prometheus. At first, I was convinced that they were going to kill us but they didn’t instead they made us their prisoners.

For 3 days, myself and the others stayed in separate cells. We were given little food and water which was barely enough to sustain us. All of our belongings were ceased except for our clothes. We were hoping that they would question us but nobody came. Presently, here I was sitting in my own cell when the others began to complain about their situation. Sunday who was the biggest complainer of all began to annoy me to the point that I was forced to talk.

Sunday ➡ Omo, this thing don tire me o. I’m tired. There has to be something we gave to do.
.

Ifeanyi ➡ Guy shut up jare! Na wetin you want make we do?
.

Sunday ➡ At least make we use our abilities now.
.

Lola ➡ Will you please SHUT THE HELL UP? ARE YOU DAFT? you’ve been complaining and complaining without realizing your surroundings. These cells you were kept in are armed with lasers that will kill in an instant. Richard may survive but what about the rest of us. If one of us makes a move, we all die. So stop complaining and be grateful that you’re still alive. Unlike you I’m the one in peril, you’re all Elites and I’m not. I doubt if I would walk out of here alive.

Richard ➡ I hope Sonny is safe o cause he’s the….
.

Lola ➡ He’s not.
.

Ifeanyi ➡ How do you know?
.

Lola ➡ Do the math… We’ve been here for 3 days now. If Sonny had made it out safely, kabir and the others would have rescued us immediately. The watches we have have tracking devices in them. There’s one obvious conclusion to this.. Sonny has been caught my the enemy.

Sunday ➡ At least, he has super healing cells. They can’t kill him.
.

Lola ➡ What makes you so sure? They made weapons that can null your abilities temporarily. What makes you think they don’t have something that can kill him?
.

Ifeanyi ➡ Let’s focus on Prometheus right now. They’re the real threat..
.

Lola ➡ No, they’re not. The Executioners are. You all heard what they said. Prometheus is in danger as well. Neither of us is safe.
.

Richard ➡ What do you mean?
.

Just as I was about to give my answer, Ade’s ex Susan appeared walking straight to us. Despite the cold merciless look on her face, she looked very attractive in her outfit. Without uttering any words, she used her telekinesis and made us all to stand up. Despite all our struggles, we couldn’t move ; it was like our bodies were moving on their own.

Sunday ➡ Betrayer!! One of these days you go meet your end.
.

Richard ➡ Guy. Shut up. You dey mad.
.

Susan flinched as she heard Sunday’s words, it made her so mad that she didn’t hesitate to take action. With a flip of her finger, Susan broke Sunday’s arm. We all heard the snap of the bone as it broke and as Sunday was yelling in pain, Susan stretched her right hand forward and began to bend his body.

Susan ➡ You dare call me betrayer!? YOU!?… You miserable b-stards ruined my relationship with Ade especially that b-tch Felicia. I’m going to make an example out of you first but when I get my hands on Felicia, I’m going to make her wish she had never returned to Ade.
.

Seeing how serious Susan was, I decided to beg for Sunday’s life even if it would be something I would gladly see her do but killing each other right now is not the solution. It was obvious she was letting her rage for Felicia take control of her so I had to try and stop her before it’s too late.
.

Lola ➡ Please! I beg of you. Don’t do this.
.

Susan ➡ You beg for this scum’s life after the role he played in murdering your partner?
.

Lola ➡ Believe me, nothing would please more than to see this bastard pay for his crimes but killing each other is not the solution. Besides your confrontation with the other Elites is something that the Executioners want.
.

Susan ➡ What are you talking about?
.

Lola ➡ Take us to your colleagues and I’ll explain everything.
.

Susan stopped what she was doing to Sunday stared at me suspiciously for a while then she pulled me closer to her using her mind giving me a warning.
.

Susan ➡ I will do as you’ve asked and better keep in mind that no monket tricks will be tolerated cause if you and your friends do anything funny. I will snap your necks with a thought. Am I making myself clear?
.

Lola ➡ Very clear.
.

After that, Lola opened the cells and then dragged us behind her using her ability. Within a matter of seconds, we were brought before the other members of the Prometheus. Everyone of them was there including the ones we’ve never seen before. Immediately they all saw us, one of them protested about us being in their presence.

Joshua ➡ Medusa! What’s the meaning of this? You were supposed to kill them.
.

Zeus ➡ He’s right, why did you bring them here?
.

Medusa ➡ This detective here has something to tell us.
.

Athena ➡ I don’t care what she has to say. I believe she’s trying to find some excuse for us not to kill her.
.

Moses ➡ Besides she’s the enemy.
.

Ares ➡ Let’s kill her already.
.

Lola ➡ WILL YOU ALL SHUT UP? YOU IDIOTIC FOOLS!
.

Mary ➡ Omo, this olosho has guts o.
.

Hephaestus ➡ How dare you speak to us like that? Who do you think you are?
.

Lola ➡ I’m the one who’s going to save your pathetic lives before it’s too late.
.

Immediately I said that, all of the prometheus members except Susan laughed at me. They laughed so hard as if they were mental. I glared at them angrily waiting for them to finish their laughter and in that moment, Joshua approached me.
.

Joshua ➡ Look at this filth. She can’t even save herself yet she wants to save us. What nonsense. I’m going to finish you off now so that you won’t open that mouth of yours and utter more nonsense.
.

Susan ➡ HEY! Step back.
.

Joshua ➡ Or what?
.

In that moment, Susan used her telekinesis on the idiot pushing him back hard against the wall. The idiot screamed trying to struggle, but the telekinesis used on him was strong and it was crushing him.
.

Zeus ➡ Medusa! Enough.
.

Susan ➡ That fool needs to learn his place. The next time he tries to cross me, I won’t hesitate to crush him like a cockroach. This detective has something to tell us and it involves our confrontation with Ade’s group not to mention the Executioners interest in it.
.

Hephaestus ➡ LIES.. SHE’S JUST BUYING THEM!
.

Athena ➡ She’s right.
.

Hephaestus ➡ What!!! Impossible?
.

Athena ➡ Are you saying that I’m lying. Don’t forget that I read minds?
.

Zeus ➡ Alright, tell us what you know.
.

Before I could even utter a syllable, the alarms went off putting everyone in panic and before Prometheus could see who or what tripped their alarm, Felicia and her gang appeared into the place adding more tension to the atmosphere.
.

Hephaestus ➡ I knew that detective was stalling. KILL THEM ALL.
.

Felicia ➡ Hephaestus.. Your cup is full and now you’re going to pay.
.

Susan ➡ FELICIA!!!
.

Felicia ➡ Well, well, well.. Another betrayer in the mix. Looks like I’m going to kill 2 rats with one stone.
.

ZEUS ➡ PROMETHEUS! KILL THEM ALL.
.

Lola ➡ NO! STOP FIGHTING.
.

My words had no effect. It was like talking to the wind. Felicia and her gang immediately went to war with Prometheus and they fought like bulls in the mud. Felicia and Susan squared up with each other fighting, Jennifer ran up an down the walls like a cat picking on anyone she saw fit, Ifeanyi and Burau’uba clashed with each other hard tearing the place apart. As for the leader of Prometheus, he was occupied with one of Felicia’s friends who had the ability to produce flames. Felicia’s group instantly outnumbered Prometheus but despite their numbers Prometheus held them off.
Whilst the fight was going on, Richard who wasn’t fighting protected me using his ability. We managed to move away from fight but it wasn’t long before the fight found it’s way to us. Shortly after Richard and I had moved out of harm’s way, something zipped past us with blinding speed smashing the wall right next to us. It was in that moment that we saw Sunday fighting with members of Prometheus. Since he could unleash his power without destroying everyone, he decided to channel it onto objects which were no different from bullets in his possession. Before Richard and I could move again, Joshua appeared behind us laughing maniacally.

Joshua ➡ Where do you think you’re going b-tch?
.

Lola ➡ Stay back freak!
.

Joshua ➡ You think this boy can save you?
.

Chris ➡ No but I can.
.

In that instant, we all turned around towards the direction of the sound and saw Chris. He’s the speedster with Felicia who rarely shows himself publicly cause ever since he came with Felicia months ago nobody has seen him until now.
Before Joshua could charge at him, Chris rushed towards him and knocked him out. Everything happened so fast that we couldn’t see how it happened. All we saw was Joshua lying on the ground unconscious.

Richard ➡ What just happened?
.

Chris ➡ Are you both okay?
.

Lola ➡ We’re fine. Chris, can you do me a favor?
.

Chris ➡ Sure I guess. What is it you want?
.

Lola ➡ Can you constrain everyone fighting over there? There’s something I need to tell them all. Please, their very lives depends on it.
.

Chris ➡ Sure. Just give me a min.

.

💢 Writer’s Pov 💢

As the fight goes on between the rivaling Elites, things began to get more and more intense and brutal especially between Felicia and Susan. As the 2 women fight bitterly with each other, their hate for each other also grows. Despite having her telekinesis, Susan was having a hard time trying to get a hold of Felicia who was not only disappearing constantly but was also playing tricks with her.
Seeing that her opponent was more at an advantage than her, Susan decided to play dirty as well.

Susan ➡ You think you’re special huh? Just because you gave birth to that bastard child for Ade doesn’t make you his.
.

Felicia ➡ Provoking me won’t work Susan.
.

Susan ➡ Tell me something! How would Ade feel when he finds out that you were responsible for his parent’s death?
.

Felicia ➡ (silence)
.

Susan ➡ (laughs) Can’t talk now can’t you? I know your secret and I can’t wait to spill the beans.
.

Felicia ➡ I’ll save you the trouble. I already told Ade. He and I are over. Happy now?

Shocked by Felicia’s revelation, Susan bites her lips angrily but then she calms herself down and tries to find a means to taunt Felicia.
.

Susan ➡ Is that right? I bet he hates you now. I wonder if he hates your son too.
.

Felicia ➡ KEEP MY SON OUT OF YOUR WHORING MOUTH.
.

In that moment, Felicia teleports herself towards Susan angrily and tackles her hard to the ground. As both ladies collide, they roll on each other fighting brutally like wild cats. Susan who was trying to use her telekinesis on Felicia becomes helpless as the latter teleports her hands into the ground. After rendering her rival powerless, Felicia beats her mercilessly and then proceeds to strangle her trying to kill her.
However before things could get out of hand, Chris appears and puts a stop to the fight by constraining everyone. Within a matter of seconds, everyone except Lola was tied down.

Chris ➡ Lola, it’s been done.
.

Zeus ➡ Who’s this? Untie us.
.

Felicia ➡ Chris.. Untie me. NOW!
.

Lola ➡ No he won’t. Not until we all hear what I have to say.
.

Hephaestus ➡ There’s nothing that you’ll say that we’ll listen.
.

Lola ➡ Oh yeah.. Then fine. It’s your funeral not mine. You idiots don’t realize that your time is running out. Can’t you see? This is what the Executioners want, for you to kill each other. They know the only way to destroy you guys is by yourselves.
.

Zeus ➡ What are you talking about?
.

Lola ➡ Somehow, they knew you guys were in a bitter confrontation and they knew how you hated each other. All they want is for you to destroy each other and once that happens, they will step in and destroy whoever that’s left standing.
.

Athena ➡ They can’t stop us.
.

Lola ➡ Before maybe; but now they can. Their new leader is very smart and she knows what your next move is. I don’t know how she does it but they’re all pawns in her game.
.

Moses ➡ LIES!
.

Ifeanyi ➡ SHUT UP JOR! Wetin you know?
.

Ares ➡ It still doesn’t change the fact that the enemies are humans. They’re no different from the elies. They must be destroyed.
.

Lola ➡ Do that and you’ll be destroyed the next generation of Elites that will be born in the future.
.

Mary ➡ What are you talking about?
.

Lola ➡ The leader of the Executioners told me that half of the world’s population will be Elites. She wants to destroy that but first she needs to destroy you guys.
.

Hephaestus ➡ We can’t trust her. She’s obviously lying.
.

Lola ➡ Honestly, I don’t care if you all believe me or not. One thing I do know is that your enemies are back and prepared more than ever. They’re more focused and more determined to see your extinction. Fighting each other is not the solution, whether you like it or not, you all have to work together. I can’t imagine what you all went through in the past but right now, the only way to save yourselves is to stand united and work together.
.

As Lola finishes her statement, the room soon falls into a deep silence. Despite their differences, everyone in the room began to process what they had heard from someone less powerful than them.
Suddenly in that moment, a small whirring sound was heard before anyone could figure out where the sound was coming from, hundreds of armored piercing bullets burst through the walls hitting anything in their path. Lola who was unfortunate was hit by 5 bullets, 2 on the back, 2 on the shoulders and 1 on the stomach. Seeing that they were under attack, all the Elites decided to retaliate but not before they were untied by Chris.
Felicia who was first to be untied frees Susan and then teleports away instant. With her hands now free, Susan pulls a counter attack by using her telekinesis to stop the bullets and sending it right back where it came from.

Zeus ➡ Who’s the attack coming from?
.

Athena ➡ It’s the Executioners.
.

Zeus ➡ Hephaestus.. It’s time to attack… Hephaestus..
.

Moses ➡ He’s dead.
.

Zeus ➡ WHAT?
.

Moses ➡ One of the bullets hit his head. He’s gone.
.

Zeus ➡ ARRRGGGHHHHH!!! KILL THOSE BASTARDS.. KILL THEM ALL.
.

Despite their efforts to retaliate, the elites were outmatched by the Executioners fire power which was now coming from all sides but before the Elites could meet their ends, an unexpected chivalry appeared.
Appearing once again with a little back up, Felicia teleports outside where she meets a small army of Executioners preparing to blow the Elites to hell but before that could happen, she teleports couple of devastating explosives and throws it amidst the Executioners blowing a quarter of them to pieces.
Sunday who had also found his way outside unleashes his ability to it’s full peak as he decimates the Executioners. The force created by the latter scattered the executioners like dirt in the wind but despite his efforts more Executioners showed up with more heavy firepower.

Sunday ➡ This is too much o. Dem just dey increase.
.

Felicia ➡ We can’t take them all. Let’s retreat.
.

After teleporting herself back inside, Felicia tells the others about their situation. Some wanted to stay and fight whilst others wanted to run and fight another day.
.

Jennifer ➡ Babe, how many are there?
.

Felicia ➡ Close to a hundred. They have lots of fire power too.
.

Ares ➡ We should stay and fight.
.

Ifeanyi ➡ Ogbeni, you dey craze? I no go stay o. Make we JAPA.
.

Richard ➡ We need to leave. Lola is bleeding out.
.

Mary ➡ Someone should tend to her. I can hear her heartbeat and it’s getting slow. She needs medical attention.
.

Chris ➡ I’ll take care of her.
.

Felicia ➡ Take her straight to the Nova agency. Whatever happens. Don’t stop.
.

Chris ➡ I won’t.
.

Athena ➡ He won’t make it in time. Bauchi is far from Lagos.
.

Chris ➡ I can make it there in 5mins or less.
.

Felicia ➡ Just go.
.

(Chris exits with Lola)
.

Moses ➡ So what now?
.

Athena ➡ we need to get out of here.
.

Mary ➡ Hold on.. Something is going on outside. Someone is fighting the Executioners.
.

Zeus ➡ Wait a minute.. Where’s Medusa?
.

Meanwhile here outside the Prometheus base, Susan alone battles with rest with the Executioners using her telekinesis. Despite the odds against her, Susan pushes herself to the limit using her ability more than she has ever done before.
The Executioners who were trying their best to finish off Susan were met with fierce resistance and after a long struggle they were overpowered. Within a blink of an eye, Susan lifts the executioners and their weapons high up in the air taking higher and higher until they were nothing but tiny dots in the sky and as soon as they were far off the ground, Susan lets them go making them fall screaming to their deaths.
After eradicating the Executioners, Susan collapses on the ground and passes out due to the overuse of her telekinesis. After seeing what Susan had done, Felicia and the others approach her unconscious body but before they could take her, Monica speaks to them through a communication device on one of the dead executioners.

Monica ➡ Congratulations freaks. You may have won today’s battle but mark my words, the war will be ours. Your time is up and you all will answer for your deeds. I will succeed what my ancestors failed to do thousands of years ago. Whatever it takes, I will wipe your kind of the face of the earth. Time is ticking for your doom. Enjoy your last moments while it lasts.
