✍️ CHAPTER TITLE ✍️: I’LL TELL THE TRUTH…. Part 2.
“Damien, please can we go to see her, just this once and I’ll not ask for another opportunity soon,” Annabel pleaded, her head pulling forward from his body to see if he would approve it.
Damien on the other hand couldn’t grant Annabel’s request of going to visit Vera, because he doesn’t know how to go about it.
Vera must have been trying to settle in with her family and also plotting many lies that she would tell about her journey.
It will be suspicious if they visit the palace and Andromeda finds out that they’ve come for Vera instead of her this time around.
He can’t guarantee the fact that Annabel would behave well there and not make things suspicious. Annabel would be all over Vera and there wouldn’t be another truth aside from telling the truth which the princess is not ready to tell.
Vera had come into his life and she was away from him now, Damien didn’t doubt if the princess still cared about them after leaving, but he doubted if she would have started missing their presence as they were missing hers there.
Damien was still busy thinking about what to say and not break the hope she had in him, with the way she was staring at him while hoping for a positive response.
During that moment, Caleb appeared behind the closed door, he entered to meet the both of them hugging each other.
He walked closer to them, his appearance and the sweet fragrance that came with him showed them that he already had his bath that morning.
Caleb was dressed up to the minimum of being a charm. Dressed up with a combination of grey sweatpants and a white shirt, which was transparent enough to reveal the inner wear that was worn first by him.
Seeing him like that Damien wondered, how does he manage to always do this? After a long day yesterday here he was looking like nothing ever stressed him before.
“Good morning to you both,” he greeted first, going over to Annabel who had detached herself from Damien’s body, and rubbing her hair lovingly.
“Big cheeks,” he commented, dragging her cheeks carefully, wanting the sadness on her face to leave, or maybe she should smile.
“So I’ve concluded that no one is permitted to cry in this house today, neither am I letting go of the outing that I’ve planned for us,” Caleb informed, giving Annabel who refused to cheer up a funny face before going to draw the curtains in the room, so brightness could be seen.
Damien who was thinking before frowned at Caleb’s idea, while Annabel just rolled her eyes at how Caleb chose to be silly when she was busy finding means to meet the sweet Vera again.
It must have been a good fate for Damien to find out about Vera’s identity before she left, she would not have minded telling Damien the entire truth and every scene just to meet Vera again. It’s a selfish decision but she would not have gotten a better choice than that.
It was only a day since Vera left, but it felt like she had gone away for months. She misses her so much and she could say the same when it comes to Damien.
“No one is speaking, but I’m sure I was heard. Get dressed you both and we’re going out afterward,” Caleb repeated, standing in their presence and keeping a straight face.
When Damien tried to read his emotion through his face, it was difficult to find out if Caleb was sincere and genuinely happy, or if he was just doing this to taunt the both of them.
“Are we going to visit Vera?” Giving it a second thought Annabel asked, her eyes curiously staring at Caleb as she hoped that he had a surprise planned for her. After all, yesterday he was here to help her sleep, even after crying so much.
Caleb most times crosses bridges to make her happy, and he always comes through. Annabel wants to believe that he would do the same this time around.
“That…..” He emphasized keeping Annabel’s mind curious and gazing around the room like he was going to approve it, but instead, he replied,
“Maybe we can do that next time, but today I want to treat my little lizard like a princess,” he shared happily.
“And yes Damien, I’ve canceled all the appointments you and I may be having today, so you won’t have to bother about anything. Your name has been in everyone’s mouth since yesterday, you deserve accolades for doing that,” Caleb mentioned, reminding him of the shots he had with the female model yesterday earning a deep frown from him.
” You don’t have to be sad,” Caleb shifted his attention to Annabel who had a disappointed look on her face.
“We can go get some interesting refreshments together. Get your hair fixed properly, do some shopping, and aside from Damien, my little lizard deserves to trend too, right?” Caleb ranted, giving it all it would take to persuade her with them as he knew Damien didn’t have an option aside from coming along.
“No, I’m better staying at home. If it’s not going to see Vera, then I don’t want to go anymore,” Annabel refused, shrugging Caleb’s hand that was placed on her shoulder away and moving away from there.
“Okay, but don’t you need a new phone for yourself? I mean… You can always call the princess with it whenever you want,” Caleb gave a funny smile after saying, knowing he had given a valid point that would make her come along.
While Annabel was thinking, Damien stood still, listening to the entire conversation with his eyes dimming every minute while he tried to fathom what Caleb had in his mind to do.
After the long talk of Caleb persuading Annabel, Damien later joined to ensure that she listened. Eventually, she agreed.
Annabel and Damien had to get dressed while Caleb went to change his outfit into something better.
Their appearance turned out to be glooming when it was finally time to leave. Annabel was walking in between the two of them, her appearance looking like a beautiful teenager, as she dressed herself up moderately without doing too much to look beautiful.
They stepped out of the mansion together, Damien picked one of Annabel’s hands and locked her palm with his, while Annabel had her free hand to hold on to the beautiful pulse she had taken with her.
On Annabel’s mind was a hope, that the outing would be worth it at the end of the day. Caleb offered to drive them because he wanted them to go out alone.
Damien knew it wasn’t safe and he rejected the idea immediately, complaining about their safety and making Caleb see the dangers that may be outside waiting.
Eventually, they made the guards come along in another car, driving directly behind them and keeping their eyes on any problem or danger that may try to attack them.

“Was I supposed to smile after all I’ve heard? Would you smile if I told you such?” Andromeda asked, sighing after hearing the truth and thinking about how everything started and how Vera made all her plans without considering letting her be aware of it.
If Vera had told her initially Andromeda may refused to let her leave, but if Vera remains on her neck she would eventually agree. Why keep such a huge secret from her while making her believe that she was away?

Vera had been in the same country and city with her all this while, but she wasn’t allowed to find out. Speaking of that, was Vera with the Stewarts on the day they came to visit her?
”Did you come with Caleb to the palace then?” Andromeda questioned, knowing it may not be possible for them to take a butler on an outing but having heard from Vera that she was close to them, it’s possible that she was there.
“I came, and I saw you,” she confessed without hiding a single truth. Whatever pain Andromeda was feeling now, Vera could attest to it.
“You’ve changed totally because of Damien. Seeing your sister after a long time and yet you left without saying ‘Hi’,” A disappointed look on Andromeda’s face as she speaks.
Telling the truth when she didn’t plan to already made Vera’s chest heavy, but seeing Andromeda expressing her disappointment hurt her even more.
“I’m sorry,” that was all she could say. She resisted the urge to cry because she felt terrible internally.
“Caleb is a bad person, why didn’t he tell? He knew you were with them,” Andromeda fused. Her expression had started changing from being sour to something better.
“He doesn’t know and neither was Damien,” she confessed, not wanting Andromeda to blame them over what they were not guilty of.
“So how did they allow you to be close to their sister, knowing you were supposed to be a man?” Andromeda scoffed, confused all over again about everything.
Vera shook her head, neglecting the urge to blast Andromeda for not being a quick thinker. “I told you she liked me a lot because I always take care of her,”
“Such a creepy revelation. So now, what do you plan on doing with Damien, now that you’re back home?” She asked, picking up the puppy she kept on the ground earlier and caressing its ear.
“He promised to come around after he’s done with his stepmom,” she replied, remembering that a day ago Damien was giving his promises and hoping that he would stick to them.
Andromeda raised her brows in surprise, thinking of what needs to be sorted out about Damien’s stepmom. If she asks another question it would lead to other revelation that would surprise her even more.
“Another revelation that I wasn’t expecting to hear, so I’ll let it slide. So now, Damien doesn’t hate women anymore?” Confused Andromeda asked, and Vera almost complained because her questions were getting too much to handle.
“I don’t know. What I know is that he doesn’t hate me and we’re good when it comes to me,” she revealed. Relaxing lazily on the couch, what does the new day have to offer?
“Now I have to keep a close eye on you, I can’t imagine you bringing up another revelation someday,” Andromeda whined and all Vera could do was sigh. She wasn’t expecting Andromeda to let go of the matter easily.
“I’ll go give this to Clara so she can take care of it. You’ll have to tell me if you lose your virginity before returning home when I’m back,” Andromeda chimed, not bothered about Vera’s glare concerning her expensive joke and rather walking away, with the puppy in her hand.
