₰ Meaning Of The Ring ₰

Royal Palace

“I understand your Majesty, I will handle it all” Willow replied before ending the call.

Hopping on one good foot since his other one is injured due to him falling down the stairs the day before . he returned to the sitting room to work on some document when he heard the door.

“Come in” he said, his gaze solely on his laptop.

“Hello” on hearing Regina’s voice, he quickly look up.

“How did you get in?” He asked

“Through the door. I knocked and you told me to come in” she replied.

“That’s because I thought you were the nurse assigned to me by the hospital”

“Talking about the nurse, she won’t be coming” Regina informed.

“What?”

“I will be the one taking care of you” Regina replied slowly.

“If this is a joke then I…”

“Have been trying for the past two weeks to get close to you but you keep brushing me off. When I heard about your fall, I was worried but then I realise that this is the chance have been waiting for”

“Thanks to your injury. I can be close to you and also use the chance to make you realise that we are meant for each other”

“Regina I…”,

“Shhh, don’t say a thing” she said as she sat next to him on the sofa putting a finger on his lips.

“I know you don’t want me here but I will stay and help you as much as you want. I love you Willow and nothing is going to change that ” She confess making him blush in return.

“What can I help you with?” Regina asked.

“Nothing for now” he replied feeling nervous with her in his room.

“Have my brother called you? How’s Ciara?” Regina asked.

“She’s out of coma but she’s currently suffering from temporary amnesia”

“Really! She doesnt remember a thing?”

“I don’t know the details but what I know now is that she doesn’t recognize his Majesty” Willow replied.

“If only he hadn’t told her to leave two weeks ago then this wouldn’t be happening ”

“He only did that because…” Willow stop when he realised that he was about to reveal the truth.

“Because he chose that slutty Velvet over her” Regina bit out cryptically.

“To him, lady Velvet means nothing and the reason why he told her to leave is to protect her. He did it to protect her”

“I find that hard to believe. Velvet keeps going on about her upcoming marriage to him and he isn’t doing a thing to stop her”

“That’s because his only concern now is lady Ciara. Due to the accident, he’s been putting something’s on hold just to be by her side” Willow defended.

“So the marriage talk is all just Velvet imagination?” Regina asked.

“It is since his Majesty has no intention of getting married to her”

Hospital

After ending his discussion with the doctor, Reagan made his way back to Ciara’s ward.

“It’s you again” she said starring at him like he’s a total stranger.

“It is me and am sure the doctor…”

“He did. He told me that you are my fiance but I don’t recall a thing about you. I only remember my parents and apart from them, I don’t remember anything else” she said cutting him off.

“You don’t have to force yourself to remember. Just focus on getting better” Reagan replied smiling down at her.

“What’s your name cause the doctor kept referring to you as his Majesty”

“It’s Reagan”

“Reagan” she said to herself ” Can I ask you how we fell for each other cause I don’t really believe that we are engage” she blurted.

“Why don’t you?”

“Since a guy like you can never be attracted to me” She replied slowly.

“Ciara I…”

“Save it. You don’t have to tell me, I don’t even know why I ask, when all this feels weird. I want to get some rest” she said as she lay on the bed turning her back on him.

Reagan let out a sigh and put the bed cover over her properly.

He was at the door when she called his name.

“I believe this to be our engagement ring. I took it off since I don’t remember a thing about it and it will be weird if I put it on now” she said handing back a gold ring to him and she notice that he had the gold ring on too.

Taking the ring from her, he left the room giving an order to the guards to keep watch on her till he returns.

Bethany was In the kitchen arranging a flower into a vase when Rex showed up.

“Come with me” he let out gruffly and taking hold of her hand, he pulled her into the store room.

“What’s going on?” Bethany asked.

“Would you mind explaining this to me?” Rex demanded as he showed her the text she sent to him.

“It’s what it is” she replied starring at the ground.

“So your answer is no?” He asked and she nodded.

“Why? Am I not good enough for you or is it that you’ve found someone else” Rex asked.

“Definitely not!”

“Care to elaborate on that?”

“To be sincere with you. You’ve ended up winning my heart but then…. I don’t think we can be a couple. Our world is totally different and am scared of getting hurt ” she replied truthfully.

“The only thing different about us is that you are a girl and am a boy. I don’t care about the tittle I own and how rich my family is, all I care about is you Bethany and if you think am going to hurt you then you have nothing to worry about since I also love you” he said trying to reassure her.

” Rex I…”

“Am not asking much from you, I only want you to be my girl and I promise to take care of you as long as you want me to” he persisted.

Moving towards him, she wrap her arms around his waist and gave him a hug.

“Does it mean what I think it is?” Rex asked and she nodded against his chest.

“You are not going to regret this, I promise” he said against her head while he held her back.

Hospital

Reagan ran into the hospital looking so worried.

He had been working on an important task when he got the call.

“What happened?” He asked as soon as he saw the doctor leaving her ward.

“She wanted to go for a stroll around the hospital and ended up slipping down the hall way and…”

“Is she okay? Nothing happened to her right?” Reagan asked worriedly.

“Apart from the blow she suffered to her head due to the fall, she will be fine. We only have to wait for her to wake up” The doctor inform.

As soon as the doctor left, Reagan went into her ward.

Taking hold of Ciara hand, he held onto it starring at her sleeping face.

She chose that moment to wake up and the way she called his name felt familiar.

“You are awake” he said as he gave her a hug.

“Reagan ” she let out slowly and immediately, he let her go.

“Am sorry. You don’t want me touching you and…”

“I remember” she said startling him.

“Huh? ”

“I remember everything” she said again.

“Really? But how is that even possible? You… The fall must have triggered it back, let me go get the doctor” he said as he quickly left the ward.

Sometime later, after the doctor had check on her. Ciara stood starring outside through the window while Reagan watched her from the sofa he was seated on.

“Tell me everything I missed for two weeks” she said still starring outside and he told her everything he could tell.

“I must have been a burden to you” she began slowly.

“You are not a…”

“When I was meant to get out of your life for good, I ended up adding more problems, Am sorry” she said as she apologise to him.

“You are not a burden to me and neither are you a problem. I stayed by your side ignoring everything else because I wanted to. That’s how important you are to me” he bit out airily.

“I feel a bit dizzy. I would like to get some rest, can you leave?” She said moving towards her bed but he stopped her.

“Are you angry about me telling you to leave two weeks ago?” He asked.

“Angry? Am not. I knew that someday I would have to leave cause after all Velvet is the one you love and….”

“Hold on a sec! Who told you that am in love with Velvet?” He asked.

“No one had to. I knew and you made that very clear when you broke off our engagement”

“Ciara you’ve got to…”

“Leave Reagan, Please” she pleaded trying to hold in her tears.

Shaking his head slightly, he turn to leave and was at the door when he changed his mind.

Walking back to her, he took hold of her hand and slip back the gold ring into her fingers.

“If this is your way of telling me that you want me to be your fiancee again then I refuse” she bit out and tried to pull off the ring but he held onto her hand.

“And who told you that it’s an engagement ring?” He said trying to control his emotions.

“If it’s not an engagement ring then what…”

“It’s our wedding ring!” He yelled startling her.

“Our what?”

“It’s our wedding ring. I felt so guilty and thought of a way to have you by my side and this…” He said showing her the rings in their finger. “This was the only thing I could think of…We are married now Ciara and there’s no way am going to let you leave…never” he growled out in determination.

₰ His Confession₰

A week ago

Reagan sat by Ciara’s bed watching over her when Willow came in.

“It’s been a week your Majesty and you’ve ignored your duties for too long” Willow told him.

“Do you expect me to be able to do anything when she’s like this?” Reagan asked slowly.

“I know it’s going to be hard to do that but then there are some important documents that needs your signature. Things that have been put on hold is turning out to be a big problem” Willow told him.

“Fine then. All I have to do is to sort this things out and I will be free to do whatever I want right?” Reagan asked and he nodded in reply.

“Then let’s go” Reagan said as he left the ward with Willow.

They were heading for the elevator when they saw a girl kneeling in front of a male patient who was glaring down at her with anger.

“I can’t believe that he would do that to her” an onlooker said.

“So you are saying that when he got into his coma. The lady had stayed by his side and now that he is awake, he tells her to get lost because he’s fallen in love with the nurse taking care of him?” Someone said and that got Reagan listening.

“Yes. He’s such a jerk! After she stayed by his side for a year, he decides to dump her…poor girl ”

Reagan and Willow stared at each other in silence.

“Are you thinking what am thinking?” Reagan asked while Willow shook his head.

” You really don’t mean that” Willow said a while later as they both walk out of the hospital.

“Didn’t you witness that? What if Ciara wakes up and choose to dump me like that guy did to that girl….I don’t want that and so I intend to marry her. Prepare the necessary document” Reagan ordered Willow who let out a sigh.

“What will you tell her when she wakes from her coma cause am certain she isn’t going to like it” Willow said.

“I intend to tell her the truth, a truth that I should have told her from the very beginning ” Reagan replied slowly.

The next day, Reagan returned to Ciara ward with a priest who got them both married.

Though Ciara comatose state made it impossible for her to answer the vows, Reagan did it all.

And just so Ciara wouldn’t think it a lie, he had them prepare their marriage document. While he signed on it, he made the unconscious Ciara thumb print on the piece of paper.

He might have done it behind her back and without her consent but it’s the only way to keep her by his side when she eventually wakes up.

Present Moment

“Am sorry if I did it without your consent but I had to” Reagan said apologising for the third time while Ciara sat on the bed without saying a thing.

“Ciara, talk to me”

” What’s there to talk about? You made the decision on your own. I have no say in it, I never did since you don’t ever ask for my opinion” she bit out slowly.

“Ciara I really….”

“Can you leave, please” she said holding in her tears.

” I will but before I do that can I ask you something” he said. ” Do you love me?”

When he said that , she stared up at him wondering if he knew the truth.

“Do I really have to answer that?” Ciara asked in return.

“Yes” he replied waiting.

“Fine then. I don’t love you, I feel nothing for you” she replied turning away from him.

“You need to leave. I hate the thought of being in the same room with you” she added and it wasn’t until she heard the banging of a door that she let the tears flow freely.

Royal Palace

Bethany was returning to her room when she got a message from Rex.

★ LET’S MEET UP IN THE WINE CELLAR, I HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE YOU ★

Choosing to change out of her maid outfit first, she open the door only to see a piece of paper on the floor.

Wondering what it was, she pick it up and read its content.

★REX ISNT WHO YOU THINK HE IS, HE IS HIDING A SECRET FROM YOU, A SECRET WHICH WOULD HURT YOU ★

Bethany felt strange reading the letter, she didn’t know if she should believe what’s inside this anonymous paper or if she should believe Rex.

Choosing to ask Rex about it, she left the room heading for the wine cellar without changing her clothe.

Hospital ~ Evening

Ciara was sitting alone outside starring at the sun set when a little girl approach her.

“Pretty lady, I lost my foodle doodle toy can you help me look for it” The little girl ask and Ciara couldn’t say no cause the girl looked cute.

“So where did you remember putting it last?” Ciara asked.

“I lost it In the garden” the little girl replied both of them in the same hospital attire.

As soon as they got to the garden, Ciara saw some hospital staff waiting for her.

“What’s going on?” Ciara asked the little girl who gave a shrug in return.

The five hospital staff present gave her a rose each which she thanked them for.

“Pretty lady, have this” the little girl said giving her a piece of paper.

★ I LOVE YOU ★

“Who gave this to you and why are you all giving this to me?” Ciara asked.

“Turn around, pretty lady” the little girl said and slowly she turn to see Reagan walking up to her with a bouquet of flower with him.

“Hello Ciara” he said looking nervous.

“What’s all this?” Ciara asked feeling her heart thumping fast.

“My confession” he replied as he went down on one kneel.

“Am not really good at this but then Willow gave me the idea that girls would really love it if I confess to them….am babbling right?” Reagan said which got the hospital staff laughing.

” Here’s the thing Ciara. I didn’t marry you just for the fun of it. I did it to have you by my side for the rest of my life, I love you Ciara, I love you and I want you by my side cause you are all I need” he confessed making Ciara tear up.

“But you are in love with Velvet” she said and this got him standing on his feet.

“Velvet is a thing of the past. I don’t love her and I never will. You are the one I love and I know that you love me too” he replied as he showed her a letter.

“This was the letter you wrote for me on the day of your accident two weeks ago. You told me about Elvira’s act and also…you wrote about your feelings. I don’t think that you remember but I…”

“I do remember. I remember writing about it but what I didn’t expect was that you would read it. Do you really mean what you just said?” She asked starring up at him.

“If I have to spend the rest of my life showing you how much i love you then, I will” he replied.

“Oh Reagan! You have no idea how have been longing to hear these words from you. I love you too” Ciara cried out in happiness.

The two gave each other a kiss while the hospital staff wish them well.

A while later, when they were both back in her ward, they began talking about the important side of things.

“When do we plan to announce our marriage to everyone ”

“As soon as possible and I intend to take them all by surprise ” Reagan replied.

“Most especially Elvira. Her time is up, she will be leaving the palace soon cause I plan to take action on her” Reagan added.
