OH MY HEART (ROSEANNA)

Chapter 29
Continuation from the last chapter;
Roseanna hands Jason the basket she held on her hand. “Papa!!”. Roseanna runs past Jason as she sees her grandpa just putting the fishes he had caught for the day into the basket for consumption and sales. She hugs him tightly.
“Daughter… how are you doing?” He asks after Roseanna releases herself from the hug.
“I’m fine Papa, grandma said you were here and I decided to see you” Roseanna smiles so widely as she takes the basket from him.
“How have you been all this while you been away?” He asks again, this time moving out of the river.
“I am fine Papa, just that I missed you and grandma alot”
Squeezing the water off his trouser and wearing his t-shirt, for the first time, he notices Jason.
“Who is this young lad?” He questions curiously, looking straight into his eyes.
“Papa, he is Jason, a friend of mine from school” Roseanna replies.
Jason lowers his head as a sign of respect and smiles. “Good afternoon Grandpa”
“Afternoon son, you are entirely welcome” he says with his wrinkled lips forming a thin smile.
“Thank you” Jason replies bowing his head once again.
Holding the basket, they headed back home with Roseanna talking most of the time. She looks more quiet, but at home she was totally a talkative.

Roseanna and her grandma prepares the lunch with cooked rice and veggies together with the fish her grandfather had brought back home.
Soon lunch is being served on the table. Roseanna grandma squint her eyes with her two eyebrows raised surprised as she sees Jason, seems she hadn’t noticed him while at the farm.
“He is Roseanna’s friend, he means no harm” the grandfather commented.
“Good afternoon, grandma!” he said drawing the wooden dinning chair closer.
“Afternoon son, how are you doing?” The grandmother smiled exposing the wrinkles on her face. She might be old but still had the strength and agility of a young woman not minding her age.
“I’m fine grandma”
“Ohh” Grandma exclaims.
After they have had to their meal, Jason thanks them for the meal which they smile reciprocating.
Roseanna clears the plates off the dinning moving to the kitchen, her grandma also goes to her room leaving her husband with Jason.
“My son, is already getting late or would you mind staying here for a night?”
“No Papa, I wish I could but…”
“It’s okay, I understand, well…” the old man said cutting him off his sentence.
They talked for a while as the old man seems to have interest in Jason who was calm and respectful, then Jason asks about Roseanna younger days especially about her parents and how come she had lost her memory.
The old man blank stares at him, completely surprised on how he knew about it, surely Roseanna had told him something already. He breathes in deeply thinking on where to start from.
“Roseanna younger days is a very long one my son, as each day keep on passing by we pray she finds her real parents”
Jason not wanting to interrupt the old man corked his ear listening attentively to what he had to say.
The old man clears his throat, “I met Roseanna on that fateful day when I had gone for fishing. I saw people gathered around a place where an accident had just occurred. Coming to have a view, I saw that it was a plane crash with most people de*ad. Soon enough an ambulance came and carried them away.
He paused and took another deep long breathe…

Chapter 30 & 31
Continuation from the last chapter;
He paused and took another deep long breathe and continues, “I was done with my fishing, just to get into the nearby farm in which my wife was, I found Roseanna inside the mud and debris due to the rain that have fallen a night before. She laid besides the rose garden before the farm. I called my wife while picking up from the mud. We haven’t had a child and my suggested we train her as ours which I gladly accepted. She remembers nothing about herself just her age and there was nothing we could do than to take her up completely as our child still bearing in mind that she will one day meet her parents” The old man completed shrugging his shoulder.
Jason sighs as he remembers asking Roseanna about her parents, now he wishes she would find her parents sooner.
“Are you staying in here for tonight” Roseanna asks while coming through the door. Jason glances at his watch, 6:44 pm. He didn’t even know that it was already evening and night was covering.
“I wish to get going” He lamented.
“Son, it would not be nice if I let you go this night because surely you will arrive home very late. Why don’t you stay for a night?” The old man motioned.
Jason nods his head in agreement, he can go home tomorrow and problem plan his next movement with his mom.
The old man stood up and went to bed, leaving Roseanna and Jason outside.
“I will stay in the sitting room while you stay in your bedroom” Jason suggested while Roseanna smiles.
“No problems, I can help you with the mattress!”
Soon later everyone had retired to bed for the night.

(THE NEXT MORNING)
As usual, Roseanna’s grandparents had left the house so early as Roseanna had promise to bring the their breakfast.
Jason too was ready to leave, he stands by his car and waits for Roseanna to come out.
Roseanna locks the house and drops the key at the window, dropping the basket of food and heads towards Jason car.
“Bye!!!” Roseanna smiled as Jason enters his car.
“When do you wish to return?” Jason asks her.
“Next week probably”
Jason starts the ignition and puts on his seat belt. “See you till then”.
“Bye!” Roseanna waves at him as he drives out. Completely out of sight, Roseanna drops her hand and smiles. “See you till then too”
She walks back towards the door and carries the basket, she takes the woven hat hanging at the side of the door and wore it on her head.

(STARLET HOUSE)
Lea drives into Starlet house and packs her car, she takes some goodies and walks towards the door beaming. She opens the door and move inside.
She drops the bags on the glass table and looks around but doesn’t see Starlet. “She must be in her room” She thought to herself.
She goes over to Starlet room and gasps.

“St-ar-let!!!” She screams as run towards Starlet who rolls on the floor, holding her stomach, writhing in pain.
She lifts her up while she pants heavily. “I need to take you to the hospital right now!”
“I don’t wanna go to the hospital, I am fine” Starlet says still holding her stomach.
“You must be cr@zy Starlet, what’s wrong with you! Have you gone out of your mind” Lea yells angrily.
” I told you I don’t wanna go to the hospital, Don’t you get it?” Starlet struggles to get our of Lea’s grip.
” You have to! What are you trying to do to yourself?”
“No!” Starlet screams and falls to the floor.
” St-ar-let!” Lea shouts as Starlet slowly closes her eyes.
“I need to call the doctor immediately!” Lea picks her phone and quickly dialed the doctor’s number, telling her to come there immediately.
” Bye… Thank you doctor” Lea says as she hangs up the phone call. She sighs as she lowers herself to the floor where Starlet lays.
” I-told- you… I-don’t… wanna go to the… hospital!” Starlet says slowly.
“Starlet are you hiding anything from me?” Lea asks concerned.
” No”
“Then why don’t you wish to get to the hospital?”
” Nothing” Starlet replies, she struggles to stand up and walks slowly to the bathroom and throws up with Lea following her at her back.
“You see the reason why I had to call the doctor?” Lea asks standing at the bathroom door but instead Starlet throw up again.

(RIVERSIDE)
Roseanna reaches the riverside and smiles as her grandfather drops his net into the river, she drops the basket on the ground.
“Papa, I bought some food for you!” Roseanna giggles. “Take care of yourself! Am going to meet grandma!”
Roseanna walks to the nearby farm and greets her grandma, helping an old woman to put the load on her head.
She drops her grandmother flask and aided her a bit, after a while she stood up.
“Grandma, your meal is in the flask. I am going to meet Elizabeth and I will be here later”
“No problem” The grandmother replies still working.

Chapter 32

(CONNOR’S MANSION)
Jason packs his car at the garage and alights from his car before locking it.
“Son!” Jason mum hugs him from his back so tightly, she had deeply missed her son.
“Mum! It’s really been a long while” Jason exclaims breaking off from the hug, he kiss her on the forehead and cheek.
Soon servants came carrying his luggages out of the boot of Jason’s car.
Jason held his mother’s hands as they walked into the house, discussing and laughing.
“Com’on Son, I know your journey must be a tiring one. So hurry and freshen up, come over to the dinning, food is ready”.
Jason mum already knew her son would be coming back home and decided to prepare his favorite meal, she smiles as she takes her seat, waiting for her son to be there.
Jason goes over to his room, a large master bedroom, big enough to accommodate a large number of people inside. In the midday of the room was a well carved king sized bed and beside it was his drawer containing his set of clothes made of rich fabrics and internationally made designs.
Jason’s room was well arranged and in order, the way he wished it to be. He removes his overcoat and goes over to the bathroom.

“Oh you are here already” Jason’s mum utters gesturing him to sit opposite her. “Or should I dish your meal myself?”.
Jason chuckles and looks at his mom, “No mum, I will dish it myself”. Helping himself with the serving dishes, he gave himself his required quantity.
Jason’s mom stares at her son and smiles within her. Her son has grown really very handsome, more handsome than he had left.
Jason’s mom, Carolina is a widow after she lost her husband in a plane crash 19 years ago when their only son was just 4. Son then, she had been the one to fend for his needs and now he is grown up. She remembers the past as tears well up in her eyes and soon raced down her cheeks.
Jason looks up and sees his mother in tears. He drops his cutlery and looks at her concerned.
“Mom here you go again, remembering the past, I understand…” He tenderly held his mother’s hand and kissed it. “It’s okay…”
Carolina let out a little sigh as she carries her other hand and places it on Jason’s hand.
“Son, sometimes you have to let emotions have it own way. It’s really a long while and sometimes those memories keeps on flashing”.
Wiping her tears off her cheeks with a handkerchief, she smiles widely, “You’ve grown up so much Son. You left almost a year and it’s looking like it already ten years!”
Jason’s eyebrows lowers, he draws his lips in and loud let out a loud sigh. “Mom, why don’t we go over to the garden, maybe that may relive you up a bit”.

(STARLET HOUSE)
The doctor arrives and set out to work. Starlet lays on the bed tired, she feels dizzy and lightheaded and falls asleep.
Series of checkup and tests are carried out on Starlet with Lea waiting patiently.
Through with everything, the doctor turns and smiles at Lea before turning back to Starlet who gradually opens her eyes.
“Congratulations ma’am, you are three weeks pregnant!” The doctor says gleefully.
Lea widens her eyes in surprise and was slack jawed, she looks at Starlet.
“W-h-a-t?” Starlet was at a confused state, blinking her eyes severally.
“Yes, you are pregnant. Please ensure that you take good care of yourself from onwards” The female doctor told her. “I may take my leave now!” she says making a little bow with her head.
“Thanks doctor, I really appreciate- thank you…”. In less than five minutes the doctor was gone.
Lea walks back into the house, then to Starlet room. She sits on the bed.
“Stop acting surprised… I am sure that you knew of it long time ago and I see the reason why you totally ki*cked again me take you to the hospital

(LIZZIE’S STORE)
“Elizabeth!!” Roseanna screams as she happily run towards her.
Elizabeth gasps thinking who was that, as her raced faster. She turns back just to find Roseanna.
“Uhzzzz… Rosie… You caused the wit off me, I might just fall to the ground because of what you just did”
Roseanna let out a soft chuckle. “Really, you seem busy uh…”
Taking some goods from Elizabeth she sets it outside the store.
“So how was your stay at school?” Elizabeth asks.
“It was fine… okay… nice! Well it wasn’t that bad” Roseanna responded not ready to recall her incident with Starlet but soon started smiling.
“Awwwn, you’re smiling like you met a handsome guy, tell me who is it? “. Elizabeth playfully nudges at her teasing.
” No… No… I mean… ” Roseanna stammers as Elizabeth let out a loud sigh.
“Ow… you don’t wanna tell me right? Okay… To be sincere I really missed you, no one to talk or gossip with, no one to play pranks on… I didn’t even have someone food to ste.al!” Elizabeth pouts as she folds her elbows in.
“Awwn now am back, you can now play pranks on me okay?” Roseanna says as she pulls Elizabeth chins out playfully.
“Ouch… Rosie!!!”
Then someone walks into the store and purchases a few things and paid as Elizabeth excuses herself from Roseanna to attend to the customer. Coming back after the customer had left, she sat on the wooden bench with Roseanna, they continued their discussion.
“So how about the friends you made at school, since you didn’t have me around?”
