“What are you still doing at the kitchen? Are you not going to work today?
Mrs Lucia asked.

“No Mother!
She said and turned the food that’s on fire.

“Why are you not going?
She asked confusingly.

“Am still on leave mother”
She lied and wanted to sneeze but this time she managed to hold it.

“Still on leave! I thought your leave experied last week”
She asked.

“No Mom,my leave will expire next week”
She lied and this time she was not able to hold the sneeze,remember whenever she lied she will snzeed.

“Eva you are lying to me,why are you lying? tell me what happen? Did you loose your job or what?
She asked at the moment she realized she was lying to her.

She got no option but to tell her since she can not lie anymore without her finding out.

“I lost my job but am working to find another job”
She said.

“How did it happen? I know I raised you up in a good manner and you are not the type that have a bad habit but i still want to know why you were fired?
She asked.

“Even me i don’t know the reason why I was sacked,i went to work yesterday and I was called to the manager’s office to the shocked of my life I was given a sack letter”
She explained.

“Just like that?
She asked confusingly.

“Yes Mother,just like that,it’s still a shocked to me but it’s well because I will find a good job that is hundred percent better then the restaurant but as for the mean time i will be doing my home delivery”
She said.

She hugged her and said,
“Its well my child,you know what they say when door closes another one will open for you,a good and suitable job is waiting for you and I pray it locate you soon”

“Thank you Mom”

“You are welcome my child,let me leave you to finish up your cooking”
She said and leave the kitchen.

She finished up packaged it and went to deliver it to her customers.

Let’s looks back on how Anne managed to conceived the manager to sack Eva.

FLASH BACK
The manager was on his office cross checking some files and Anne walked in,side.

“What a surprise visit? Miss Castro
He stood up and welcomed her.

“Please have a sit”
He said offering her a sit.

“Mr r0man no need of sitting down besides am not here for a long talk”
She said without any atom of smile in her.

“Okay as you said then,what did I owe for this surprise visit?
He asked.

“I hope you know a girl with this name Eva Sebastine?
She asked.

“Yes,she is the best chef in this restaurant,having her here has brought so much customers”
He said with smiles.

“I want you to fire her”

“Fire her! Why should I sack her? the restaurant need her I can’t do that”
He sounded surprisingly.

“Did you want to go against my order or what? Have you forgotten that without my Dad is restaurant wouldn’t have come to existence so if you don’t want this your restaurant to close forever you better do what I ask for”
She shouted.

“But Miss Castro why should I fire her? What crime have she commit?
He asked.

“Her crime is nor of your business I want you to fire her by this time tomorrwo if I find out that she is still working in this restaurant consider your restaurant close forever you know am gonna do it”
She shouted and made her way out.

The manager became so confused that he dont know what to do and he don’t want to loose his restaurant nor Eva.

He hitted his forehead with his hand thinking on what to do,
“What am I going to do? I don’t want to loose this restaurant nor Eva,without Eva this restaurant will stop growing and if I decided to keep her I will loose the restaurant”
He thought for about fifteen minutes before deciding what to do.

He exhaled and said,
“I got no other choice but to sack her and keep my restaurant”

That’s how Anne made Eva to loose her job.

FLASH BACK END
It has been four days now since Eva lost her job,she has been searching for job vacancy online for a chef she couldn’t find any but she never give up in searching.

“Bestie! Bestie! Bestie!
Sophia called out Eva’s name and rushed in,side her room.

“What is it Sophia? I was hearing you shouting my name outside the building”
She asked.

“Bestie I got a good news for you”
She sounded happily.

“What’s the good news all about?
She asked.

“There’s a job vacancy online for a chef and you are qualify to apply”
She said feeling so happy and showed her the job on her laptop.

She checked and said,
“But is not in a restaurant rather a home service”

“Yeah it does not matter,working as a cook at home is even better then working in a restaurant, bestie I want you to apply for the job it gonna profit you very well”
She said.

She thought for a while and said,
“Okay,I will apply for it, is better then doing home delivery”

“That’s exactly what I want to hear from you so let’s start applying immediately”
She said.

They lay on the bed and started applying for the job filling in some necessary things that were required.

“Requirement accepted,you have an interview tomorrwo morning”
They read the message that came in.

“Wow! That’s awesome!
Sophia shouted in joy.

“Did they send the location of the interview?

“Yeah,it’s right here,you gonna get that job bestie and shame that bitch Anne who thought that loosing your job will break you into pieces”
She said.

“I believe that,the job is already mine”
She said with so much confidence.

“Yeah bestie! I like your spirit,did you infrom Fred how you got fired and the person responsible for it?

“No Sophia I did not,I don’t want to bother him with that”

“Okay as you said,let me be going and prepare dinner my Aunty will be coming home this evening”

“Okay Bestie,see you tomorrwo!
She said and hugged her.

She told her mom about the job interview she have tomorrwo,she rejoiced with her and wishes her good luck.

Tomorrow morning she waked so early did her morning house chores and got dressed for the interview that will be starting by 9am.

“Mom I need your good luck kids am ready to go”
She said with smiles.

She k!$sed her on the forehead and said,
“Go and bring good news my precious Eva”

“Thank you Mom”
She said and hugged her.

Just about to leave Sophia banged in,
“What are you doing here? You suppose to be at the restaurant by now?
Eva asked being surprised to see her.

“Bestie,how can I go without wishing you good Luck on your interview?
She sounded with smiles.

“Oh,that’s so sweet of you”
She said and hugged her.

“Go and get the job,it’s already yours”
She said to her.

“Thank you bestie!

“Good Morning Mrs Lucia,I will see you when I come back okay!
She shouted to her hearing and rushed out.

“Good Morning! How was your….
Before she could have finish up her statement she is already out of the house.

“Take care of yourself Mom and keep on praying for me”

“The Grace of God will always be with you my daughter”

“Thank you Mom!

She went out and shut the door,she got a cab and informed the driver her destination.

Twenty minutes later they arrived at the place,she payed the cab man and came down from the car,she stood still adriming the mansion with her eyes and mouth wide opened.

“Oh mine world! This mansion is damn big and beautiful! What a mansion! The owner of this mansion must be so rich to have this kind of house,the in,side will be sparking like a Gold”
She said with beautiful smiles written all over her face.

She knocked on the gate several times but no answering.

“Nobody is answering maybe am in the wrong place”
She thought and checked her phone for the address.

“This is the house but why is that nobody is a answering? Could it be that they are not at home?
She thought and knocked again for more than five times but didn’t get any respond.

She became so worried and thought on what to do and unfortunately for she,she sighted a press button on the gate.

She gave a big sigh and said,
“Am just a big fool! It didn’t even occur to me that this big mansion must have a ringing bell”

She pressed the button and the security man came out.

“Yes,how may I help you?
He asked with a deep voice.

“Good Morning,am here for the interview”
She said being so polite.

“For the cooking interview?
He asked.

“Yes Sir!
She answered.

He looked at her from head to toe and Eva wondered why the strange look on her.

“Okay,come in,side”
He said after all the look on her.

She went in,side the security man lead the way,
“I said it the in,side will be sparking like a Gold,the owner of this mansion is super rich,How I wish am the owner of this house well one day I will have this type of house”
She thought with smiles and looking around everywhere.

The security man noticed that he is going alone,he turned back and shouted at her calling her mind back.

“What are you standing there for?

“Sorry Sir!
She apologized and rushed to meet him.

They got to the entrance of the door,she saw two body guards standing with their guns.

“A body guards too! What type of house is this?
She thought.

“Good Morning Sirs!
She greeted them and they didn’t respond,they went in,side.

“Stand here let me Inform the boss”
He said and went to get the Boss.

Eva stood still with an unbelievable face,
“Oh mine,all the furnitures are made of Gold,the owner of this mansion must be a multi millionaire,who could be the boss?
She thought.

Few minutes later,the security man came down and informed her that the Boss will soon be here.

“Thank you!
She said to him and he used the door.

Some minutes later,the boss who happened to be Mrs Power started coming downstairs.

“She is the boss!
She thought surprisingly.

“She is the owner of this big mansion,I thought the boss will be male”
She thought watching her coming down from the stairs.

“Wow! She looks so beautiful and gorgeous”
She adirmied her with smiles.

She came down from the stairs and walked so majestically to her chair.

Eva moved to her not very closed to her,she stand ten inches away from her.

“Good Morning Ma!
She greeted politely.

“Morning! You came for the interview?

“Yes Ma!
She answered being so polite.

“What’s your name?

“Am Eva Sebastine Ma”

“Eva Sebastine you came here,that shows how a serious worker are so what are your qualifications?

“I got no one Ma,my qualifications are in my palms”
She said touching her palms.

“Meaning what?

“What I mean to say Ma is that I didn’t go to any catering school to acquired any certificate”

“You didn’t go to catering school? Then why are you here? How will you prove to me that you are good for this job?
She asked.

“Ma,if you will allow to prepare any food of your choice then you will know my ability when it comes to cooking”
She said to her with smiles.

Mrs Power thought for a while and said,
“Okay let see how to goes then,prepare any food of your choice”

“Okay Ma,please where is the kitchen?

“It over there”
She pointed at the kitchen.

“Thank you Ma”
She thanked her happily and went to the kitchen.

“What will I prepare for her? Should I cook pasta with Menudo Pork stew or Rice with Pozole de Polo Guajolote(Trukey stew),will she like it?
She thought.

“What will I cook for her? Chilaquiles is my best food maybe if i cook it for with love she will like and enjoy it”
She thought and later decided to cook Chilaquiles.

She brought out the ingredients needed for the food and started cooking within ten minutes the food was done,she dished it out to her.

“Done already?
She said to her at the moment she came with the food.

“Yes Ma! I don’t waste time while cooking”
She said with smiles.

“I hope the food is tasty?

“For sure Ma,you will like it”
She dropped the food at the dinning and Mrs Power moved over to the dinning.

“What did you cook?

“I cooked Chilaquiles my best food and i know you will like it”

“That’s my best food too,
She sounded with smiles.

She opens the food and said,
“Hmmmmh! the aroma smells good”

Eva watches her as she takes a spoonful of the food to eat and she prayed for her to like the food.

She ate the food and said,
“Wow! What a delicious food Eva Sebastine? Who taught you how to cook like this?

Eva’s heart was filled with so much joy for liking the food,
“Nobody taught me how to cook Ma”

“If nobody taught you then where did you learnt cooking from?
She asked enjoying the food.

“I didn’t learnt it anywhere Ma”

“Are you serious? How did you know how to cook like this?

“Ma,I can say I was that cooking was born In me, cooking is part of me,I can say cooking is my God gives talent,I started cooking when I was five years old”
She said with smiles.

What she said made Mrs Power to remembered her dream of becoming a great chef,how she love cooking and had passion for it,how she started cooking in her tender age.

“Impressive! I can say your dream in life is to become a chef?
She asked still enjoying the food.

“Yes Ma,I hope to achieve that dream one day”

“You will achieve Eva,this your talent of cooking will not go vain rather to will make you a successful person in life”
She said to her with smiles.

“Thank you so much Ma”
She thanked her with smiles.

“You know what your are hired and you will be starting work tomorrwo morning”

“Thank you so much Ma! Thank you,thank you and thank you for giving me this job”
She said to her with a heart filled with so much gratitude.

“You deserve it,thank you for this food,I enjoyed it so much”

“Thank you Ma,I will be here early tomorrwo morning”

“Take care and see you tomorrow”

Eva thanked her again and left her house with so much joy.
