Perpetual ran into the Hospital scre-ming.. “ahh! They’ve killed my son.. Did I not warn him? They’ve killed him oo”
The nurses ran out and held her
“Madam please reduce your voice, you’re disturbing other patients..”
Perpetual kept scre-ming till the Doctor came out.
“Whats the name of your son Madam?”
“Uchenna oh.. Uchenna Ohakwe”She cried
The Doctor looked at the Nurse on Duty
“Nurse Loveth, any Uchenna Ohakwe here?”
“Yes Doctor, the young man that was rushed in here few hours ago brutalized”
“OK.. Lead her into his ward but make sure she doesn’t disturb him”
The Nurse nodded and led Perpetual into Uche’s ward.
She met Azeez and Hadiza there… Uchenna was bandaged from head to toe..
“Plz madam, don’t disturb him”Nurse Loveth said and left.
Perpetual looked at Azeez and Hadiza as they greeted him.
“Was it you that called me on phone?”She asked pointing at Azeez
“Yes MA”He replied
“Haaa which trailer hit him like this??”She cried and Azeez kept quiet
“Am asking you… Where’s the driver that hit him? Is it you??”
“No Madam… Actually, how do I put it? He was beaten up..”
“By who? Who’d beat up a human being like this??”Perpetual asked wide-eyed
“My Father’s boys”Azeez said and Hadiza nudged him, giving him signal not to talk
“I don’t understand o… Who is your father and why did he beat him up like this?”
Azeez hurriedly left the ward to avoid the Woman’s preying questions.
Perpetual turned to Hadiza and held her firmly by the hand.
“Young Lady, you don’t know me and am sure you wouldn’t want to know the type of person I am.. So tell me, what happened to my son?”
Hadiza gro-ned in pains as Perpetual firmly held her hand.
Hadiza told Perpetual everything she needed to know and gave her Alhaji’s home address…

ALHAJI USMAN’S RESIDENCE
Alhaji ordered for the release of Fauzi. She was brought out as she faced her father in the sitting room.
“Fauziat Allah knows I love you and all these that am doing is for your own good.. I want you to stop proving stubborn and adhere to my instructions. I am not just a Muslim, I am a well respected Sheikh.. What would people say when they hear that my own daughter is getting married to a Christian? Fauzia think! Don’t put me to shame.. I don’t want to impose anybody on you but just look around.. Alhaji Shehu’s son’s are all doing well.. Pick one of them and I’ll bless your marriage.. Anybody but not that boy.. Not Uche”
Fauziat looked at her father in anger
“Baba I have told u before, am telling you now and I’ll keep telling you.. it’s either Uche or no one! He is my soul!!”
Alhaji looked at her in a disappointed manner
“OK then, we shall see”He stood up and walked out of the house with his guards who drove him away.
Fauziat was crying in the sitting room searching for her phone to call Azeez to know his whereabouts with Uche when she heard noises at the gate..
She ran out and saw the security men dragging a woman outside as she was scre-ming and cursing them.
“Leave her..!!”Fauzi ordered ND they left the woman. It turned out to be Perpetual, Uche’s mother.
“Good evening MA”She greeted scared
“Swallow your greetings you daughter of Jezebel.. did I not warn you to leave my son alone? From the moment I saw you, I knew u were big trouble.. All these borno terrorists! Devil in human form!! Now see what u caused him.. I can barely recognize my own son.. Bandaged up like a corpse!! Where is that heartless father of yours? I heard he is a military man that’s why he has the guts to beat up my son in such a manner.. All am saying is, leave my son alone.. He will never marry you.. Leave him alone!!”She scre-med and gave Fauzi another slap and pounced on her but the security men bundled her up and took her outside..
Fauzi went in,side crying her heart out.
Is this really how love is? Pains and obstacles all over..

CHIEF FELIX’S RESIDENCE
Jide drove in with Janne and Juwon and ushered them into his house.
His mother was sitted in the Living room with Yetunde.
Janne courtseyed and greeted her
“Welcome my daughter.. seat down”Motunrayo said to Janne.
“Mom this is Janne, the lady I told u about.. And this is Oluwajuwon my son”Jide said to his mom.
Motunrayo carried Juwon up “How are u my child?”
“Fine”the boy replied looking down
“Call me grandma”Motunrayo said to the boy
“Does it mean I have two grandmas?”Juwon asked looking around confused..
They all laughed.
Chief Felix came downstairs and they all greeted him.
“You’re welcome..”He said to Janne
“Bring the boy to me”He told Yetunde who was already playing with Juwon. Yetunde brought him to Chief..
“There’s no need to argue.. Immediately you see the boy, you’ve seen Jide.. This is his photocopy! And he even has my nose”Chief said and they all laughed..
Chief told Janne all that happened.. how he was responsible for Jide’s disappearance as she put it.. He further apologized to her on everyone’s behalf..
About 30mins later, Pascal came in.. Seeing Janne there, he was taken aback..
“What’s happening here?”He inquired
“Is that your greeting?”Chief queried
Pascal apologized and greeted his parents..
“Well this is your brother’s Fiancée and this is their son”Motunrayo said pointing at Juwon who was laughing with Yetunde.
“What Fiancee? Mother this is my Fiancee.. The one I want to marry!”Pascal exclaimed
He moved over to Janne “baby didn’t u tell them?”
“Tell them what? Last time I checked, you called off the engagement after learning about me and Jide”…
Everyone was quiet..
Chief cleared his throat.. “Pascal, this is your brother’s wife-to-be..Just leave them alone in peace..”
“No father I won’t! not after Jide ruined my own happiness!!”He barked
“What are u talking about?”Jide asked
“Have u forgotten about Jummy? Jumoke!!”…..

Best visited Uche at the hospital with Perpetual after learning about the incident. She brought food and beverages for him.
Meanwhile, Uche had regained consciousness already.
“How do u feel now?”Best asked in concern
Uche gave a painful smile
“Truth be told, I am nowhere near being fine. It feels like my wh0le body is on fire”
Perpetual sighed. “Did I not warn you about that girl? Just look at how they battered you like a common criminal without pity. Didn’t I tell u they have blood of terrorists? Didn’t I?”
“Mom please.. Not now, all he needs right now is our love and support “Best said and Perpetual hissed
“Love and support ko.. I just thank God for teaching him a lesson.. He deserves everything that’s happening to him because I warned him!”She said moving out of the ward.
Best shook her head and looked at Uche
“Please don’t take her words to heart OK? You’ll be fine”
Uche nodded slowly.
Nurse Loveth walked in with the Doctor and Best stood up to create space for them to attend to Uche.
After examining him for a while, the Doctor said to Nurse Loveth.
“Please place another drip on him..and give him that injection I told u about to subsidize the pains..”
She nodded
“Uche, you’ll be fine OK? There’s just little broken bones here and there but it didn’t affect any of your vital org-ns.. Say a week or two, you’ll be able to move around on your own”The Doctor said
“Thank you Doctor”Best said and Uche nodded in thanks to the Doctor too.

CHIEF FELIX’S RESIDENCE
The atmosphere was tensed. Pascal looked angry and bitter while Jide looked confused. The rest sat uptight looking at the two brothers.
“Which Jummy are u talking about?”Jide asked
“My girlfriend of 7years ago. The one you killed with your reckless driving… Jummy was the only girl that I’ve ever loved and will ever love. You shattered my happiness and expect me to be fine??!”Pascal scre-med..
FLASHBACK
Jummy paced to and fro in front of City Gate hotel impatiently waiting for her boyfriend Pascal who hadn’t shown up.
She called him again for the umpteenth time.
“Pascal where are u nau? You’ve been keeping me waiting for almost 2 hours now!!”
“Please baby, am sorry.. My car developed a fault just few metres away and my mechanic is yet to arrive..”
“So what am I going to do now? I don’t even have any money on me to leave here..i didn’t bring my car also because u promised to pick me up from here.. Am just frustrated!!”
“Just hold on, I’ll get back to u now..”
Pascal called his brother Jide on phone.
“Boda mi, please where are u?”Pascal asked immediately Jide picked up the call.
“Around Lane5..heading to City Gate hotel to chill with my friends.. Wanna join us?”
“Oh ThankGod… Please boda.. Jummy is in front of the hotel and I can’t meet her up now as my car has developed fault.. Can u please keep her company till am able to come? Pleaseee”Pascal begged
“No problems aburo mi… Just tell her to wait for us in front of the gate..”
“Eshe sir”Pascal thanked him, ended the call and relayed the plan to Jummy.
Soon, Jide and his friends arrived and indeed, Jide tried all his best to keep Jummy company as he bought her drinks and food, gisting with her and his friends.. Jummy became relaxed and laughed and rolled with them totally forgetting about Pascal.
Few minutes past 10pm, Jide’s friends said the place was boring and they should head to the club for more fun as it was a Friday night.. They all agreed even though they were drunk and they left the hotel to the club…
On the way, They had a ghastly motor accident and Jummy died…
BACK TO THE PRESENT
Pascal was already in tears as he narrated this incidence to them..
“Honestly, I can’t really remember what happened that night…i woke up and found myself on the hospital bed.. Am sorry if I indirectly have a hand in the death of Jummy.. Please forgive me..”Jide pleaded but Pascal stood up and headed upstairs…

Fauzi skipped classes that day to visit Uche who had been discharged 2days before.
He was given two weeks off from the office so as to recuperate well enough.
She prepared beans and plantain and brought for him.
Uche ate hungrily..
When he was done, Fauzi took the plates to the kitchen and came back to keep him company.
“So how are u feeling now?”She asked touching his bandaged head carefully.
“Alot better”He smiled..
“I really want to apologize for everything you went through in the hands of my father because of me…”
“It’s okay baby, these things happen.. And am ready to endure more if only I can be with u at the end”
Tears dropped from Fauzi’s eyes..
“Uche am scared”
“Of?”He asked sitting up
“That you might get tired of everything and leave me..”She cried
“Come on! I can never do that.. You are my soul, my heart, my body.. I can’t even imagine the possibility of letting you go.. No matter what happens..”
“Then prove it!”
“How?”Uche asked
“Let’s take a blood oath and seal it with my V-rginity..”She said with all seriousness..
“Fauzi.. What about our oath of chastity? we vowed never to go s€×ually intimate till we get married”
“I don’t care about that..if u love me, let’s do this..”
Uche breathed in.. “OK love, anything for u”
Fauzi smiled and reached out for her bag, brought out a new razor blade.
“Give me your right thumb”She told Uche..
He did.. she cut him and he sighed in pains..
She gave him the razor and stretched her right thumb to him.. He cut her too..
And they bought exchanged hands as they s-cked each others blood..
“Together for life.. Only death can separate us” Fauzi said
“Forever and ever.. Only death can separate us”Uche said..
They smiled and hugged each other..
Fauzi stood up and began to undress.. She stood stark unclad in front of Uche who admired her body.. He couldn’t believe how endowed she was under her hijab..
She slowly got on top of him and devoured his l-ips with so much passion….

Vicky was crying in her house.. she couldn’t believe Pascal had dumped her after so many years of their secret rendezvous.
After all his promises..
If he had only dumped her, it’d have been better.. He had told her so many painful things that she couldn’t bear and she knew now how stupid and wicked she had been all these years to snitch on her friend for a man.
She had aborted 4 pregnancies for Pascal all these years and now, she had just returned from the hospital where her Doctor had told her that she has so many complications and wouldn’t be able to conceive again in her life.
She broke down in more tears.. This is Karma!
There was nothing she was living for.. She was just an orphan and Janne had taken her as a sister but she repayed her with betrayal.
She looked at the bottle of Fanta she had mixed with Sniper..
Looked at the letter she had written and cried the more..
This is her end.. She brought her phone and sent a text message to Janne..
She then put the letter on the table and emptied the Fanta..
“Lord have mercy and accept my wretched soul..”
Soon, she was wringling in pains on the floor with foam coming out of her mouth…

JANNE’S RESIDENCE
Jide brought Janne back to her place that evening. Juwon who was now so attached to Yetunde refused coming back with them and he was left behind.
“Thank u so much for honoring my invitation..”Jide said as they sat down in the Living room..
“Thank you too.. It was a long evening actually..am happy alot of things were revealed.. At least now I know u never abandoned me but I can never believe Pascal was using me to get back at you all these years.. Gosh!”
“it’s OKay dear.. Everything happens for a reason..I hope you’ve forgiven me now”
Janne smiled and Jide pecked her.. Just then, a text message popped into Janne’s phone and she read it..
“Oh my God! I need to go see Vicky right away.. There’s something disturbing about this her text”
“What did she say?”
“That if I don’t want to meet her corpse, I should be at her place ASAP”
“oh God.. Let’s run along”Jide said grabbing his car keys and Janne rushed out with him to Vicky’s house…

The bed sheets was stained with blood and Fauzi was in pains. Uche rushed and took hot water to the bathroom then carried Fauzi, placed her on the bath tub and washed her thoroughly..
He took her back to the room, dried her body and wore her one of his shirts which looked big on her..
“Babe am so sorry for causing you pains”he said
“Shhhhh…it’s okay.. Just make me hot tea, I’ll be fine”
Uche went to the kitchen and made tea for her.. She drank and slept off..
Uche heaved a sigh of relief and started cleaning up the house..
Shortly afterwards, he heard the door bell and he went to see who it was.
“Hi Sugar!”Best said pecking him and moving into the Living room where she sat down and crossed her legs..
“What are u doing here?”Uche asked slowly
“Can’t I pay my boo a surprise visit?”Best said smacking the chewing gum in her mouth
Uche looked around to make sure Fauzi wasn’t there..
“Look Best, your mother and my mother are planning for us to get married doesn’t mean I consented to it OK? I already have someone I want to get married too and I honestly pray you find yourself someone else but definitely not me..”
“Wait Uche, you’re still with that girl whose Father almost killed u? Is that how dumb and stupid u are?”
“Please leave…”Uche said pointing at the door..
Fauzi slowly walked in with her hands across her br-asts still on Uche’s cloth..
“What’s going on here? Uche who’s she?”Fauzi asked
“Oh..So this is the thing you’re ignoring and chasing me away for?”Best laughed
“What a poor looking puppet! So with all the money they said your Father has, you can’t make good hair.. See her simbi-is-a-girl hair.. Didn’t even fix nails.. Nothing nothing”Best laughed the more
“Enough! Now leave before I push u out!!”Uche scre-med..
“I’ll leave but I’ll surely be back”Best said and left.
Uche went over to Fauzi
“Am sorry..She’s just a girl my mom is imposing on me”
“No.. It’s fine..”Fauzi replied..
Her phone started ringing in,side and she went in to get it while Uche followed her..
“ina wuni”She greeted on the phone
“What??? OK.. OK.. Nagode”
“Uche we have to leave this place now!!!”She said
“Why??”Uche looked confused
“Azeez just called me.. my father sent his boys over here..someone told him we’re together”
“Oh God!!”He scre-med..and ran helter shelter trying to get some things..
“Just forget everything let’s leave…”Fauzi said
Uche grabbed his phone and ATM card and Fauzi grabbed her bag not even carrying her hijab to cover her body.. They ran out, hopped into Fauzi’s car and drove off….

Janne and Jide entered into Vicky’s house which wasn’t locked..
Janne scre-med on seeing the sight..
“Why?? Vicky why?”She cried as she saw the empty bottle of sniper.
“No time for questions.. let’s rush her to the hospital first..”Jide said and carried Vicky on his shoulders and headed outside.
Janne saw the note on the table, grabbed it and put in her bag before running after Jide who was already in,side the car and they sped off to the hospital.
They arrived the hospital and Vicky was quickly admitted into the emergency ward.
Janne kept crying
“What would have drove her into committing suicide?”She cried on Jide’s shoulder as they waited at the reception.
Janne quickly remembered the note she saw on the table and brought it out from her bag and began to read.. As she read, she cried the more.
Jide collected the note from Janne and read it too..
“I can’t believe all these.. Vicky and Pascal? 4 abortions??”Jide said
“Why? Why??”Janne kept crying..
Just then, the Doctor came out and they rushed forward..
“You brought her in quite late.. The poison had eaten up her org-ns already.. Unfortunately, we lost her”
Janne fainted…
