CHAPTER 41
~
The Queen trailed behind Rosanne as she made her way to the crown prince’s room.
The Queen couldn’t explain how nervous and excited she felt at the same time, but did a good job hiding her emotion as Rosanne led the way.

Standing in front of the crown prince’s room, Rosanne breathed in and out heavily, before placing a soft knock on the door.
“Your Highness, it’s me Rosanne” she announced.

As expected, she got no reply and gave a tired sigh.
“He’s always like this.” Rosanne said to the Queen.

“It’s nothing dear, take your lovely time.” The Queen smiled, her voice, low and calm.

Rosanne stepped forward and gave a light knock on the door again. And again, until her knocks started becoming heavy against the wooden door.
“Your Highness? Are you in there?” Rosanne asked.
She stopped knocking and turned to the queen, ready to tell her, he wasn’t going to let them in, until she heard his quiet voice from in,side say.

“Come in.”

The Queen gasped on the in,side as she heard her son’s voice, and her heart melt at Rosanne’s smile.

Rosanne turned to the door, and with a sigh, she pushed the door open, revealing the crown prince’s room.

As Rosanne stepped into the room, the queen made no effort to move as her jaw dropped at the sight of her son’s room. It was empty and only has a bed in it, the walls were colorless and old, the floor old and dusty. He was supposed to be living in royalty not this.

Standing by the window, the crown prince turned around and seeing Rosanne, she smiled at him and gave a bow, he never noticed the queen since she was still standing outside his room, in the dark passageway.

“You suddenly left the ballroom your Highness.” Rosanne started.
“I do not like to be kept waiting.” The crown prince added, placing both of his hands behind his back, causing his chest do push out further.
Rosanne gulped at the action and tried to keep her eyes on his face.

“I am truly sorry about that” Rosanne bowed.

“And what about the horses hooves we heard? Where were they headed?” The crown prince asked.

“Well… They were not heading anywhere, they were coming here” Rosanne swallowed.

“Here?” The crown prince asked.
“Your Highness, we… We have a special visitor” Rosanne gulped.

The crown prince’s face suddenly squeezed in anger. “What visitor?” He yelled causing Rosanne to move back a bit.
“She… She…
Rosanne stuttered.

“She… Who?” He barked.
Rosanne sighed, she expected more than this anger from him, so his barking didn’t faze her.

“Your Highness, if you just let me speak” Rosanne tried to smile.
“Just tell me who the spe-

“Hasting.” The Queen’s gentle voice stopped the crown prince from speaking, and slowly she took a step into the room.
The Queen lets out a small smile, seeing her son, the last time she saw him he was below her chest, but now, he was taller then she could ever imagine.
His manly body, his biceps and eccentric masculine face, causing her to realize he was not the child she had imagine coming here. He was more…

“Who are you?” The crown prince spat, angrily. And immediately his head replied to the question he asked. โ€œThat’s our motherโ€.

“It’s me Hasting.” The Queen smiled.

“Why are you here?” The crown prince yelled.

“To see you.” The Queen replied.

Rosanne silently gasped at how strong their resemblance was. The same eyes, nose, l-ips, the crown prince literally inherited everything from his mother.

“Get lost!” The crown prince yelled.

The Queen smiled. “I am happy to see you doing so well after so many years!”

“I said get lost!” The crown prince yelled again, his voice more thunderous.

“Your Highness, but she’s your mother.” Rosanne chimed in.
“Now be quiet!” The crown prince roared.

Rosanne rolled her eyes when the crown prince turned to his mother and he took a step towards her.

“You useless ruler of Orrander, how dare you step into my territory.” The crown prince was getting more than angry.
“Because, I am your mother and I have every right to see how my son is doing.” The Queen replied.

“You call yourself my mother one more time and I will break every part of your bones.” The crown prince threatened.

“If it gives you happiness then so be it” The Queen replied sternly.
“Your Highness!” Rosanne gasped! “No it’s not okay for you to let him break your bones.”

“My Happiness, what will make me happy, is seeing you and all the people in Orrander dead!” The crown prince spat, taking another step towards his mother.
Rosanne held her breath, surprised by the queen’s action, she wasn’t ready to take a step back and was waiting for whatever the prince would do to her.

“Then dead we shall be” The Queen smirked.

“Do you think this a joke!!” The crown prince yelled, raising his head. And slowly the queen watched as his eyes left his beautiful emerald to blood red.

“You and the people of Orrander will see nothing but darkness.!” The crown prince yelled, his hand wanting to smack across the queen’s face, when Rosanne suddenly stepped in front of the queen, getting the thunderous hit from the crown prince and crashing to the floor in one go.

“Rosanne!” The Queen gasped, falling to her knees beside Rosanne.

Rosanne winced when she felt all ounce of pain on her neck as she slowly raised her body.

The queen’s eyes wยกden in shock when she noticed the blood on Rosanne’s neck.
The crown prince took a step back, as he looked down at his fingers and then at Rosanne.

“Are you alright.” The Queen asked in horror.
Rosanne swallowed as she slowly got on her feet.
“I’m fine.” she tried to smile, but stopped when a tear trickled down her cheek.
“No you are not.” the queen sighed and walked towards the door.
“Get the royal physician from the carriage and hurry up!” The Queen yelled at both of the servants who had secretly followed her to the crown prince room.

“Why did you step in?” The crown prince yelled in anger.
“Because..” Rosanne sniffed. “She’s your mother, you cannot hit her.”

“That woman is not my mother! She is the ruler of that unworthy place.” The crown prince added.

Rosanne glared at him as the pain in her neck got extreme and she could feel the blood trickle down her shoulder.
She was going to prove he wasn’t the only one who could get angry.

“You know, that unworthy place, is my home, it’s where I was birthed. Where I was raised and its where I love, it’s where the people I love live and I am not going to stand here and watch you spit eerie things about it. All you think about are negative things, you clearly know nothing about Orrander ” Rosanne yelled

“What do you know, you’re just a lowly servant” The crown prince raised his chin up.

“A lowly servant with manners, love, kindness and compassion, I do not care if you are of the royal blood your Highness, but you are dumb in so many aspect I can vividly point out, you are manner less and your ego is taller than your gormless accomplishments, I do not care if you’re cursed by the beast of Orrander, you deserved to be cursed ten folds. Learn to control your monstrous anger, that woman over there is your mother no matter how you try to push her away, she is your mother and always will be. You do not dare raise your filthy hand against your own mother, no matter how bad she treats you. I do not know what my mother sounds like or looks like, but let me tell you, I love her more than anything in the world. To hell with the curse in you.” Rosanne spat. Her face red from all the yelling.

The crown prince said nothing as his dashing emerald eyes came into sight, he looked at Rosanne, and Rosanne returned, none of them saying nothing, until Rosanne collapsed to the floor.

CHAPTER 42
~

“Quick, take the maiden outside of the castle.” The Queen ordered the royal physicians who had just walked Into the crown prince’s room with some servants behind them.

As a female servant lifted Rosanne’s body from the cold floor, the crown prince eyes wยกden.

“Where are you taking her?” He question in anger.
“Away from you, where she’s safe.” The Queen spat, glowering at her son.

“Away from me? But how can I be sure she’s safe with you?” The prince barked.

“Because I am not a bad person, neither will I ever dare to hit her and cause her to bleed on the neck” The Queen replied with a sigh. “You are not dangerous Hasting, you are just bearing the curse of what Orrander couldn’t fight against”.

The crown prince clenched his fist as he watched the servants take Rosanne’s body out of his sight.

“Now, I will leave Sylph with Rosanne.” The Queen announced.

“No!” the crown prince yelled. “You cannot take her away from me.

“I will, until her neck heals, she will not be back here, I am protecting her, if you want the best for her you will let me take her.” The Queen stated sternly, and watching her son’s reaction carefully, she nodded and walked to the door with a royal guard behind her.
Before exiting the room, the queen turned to her son, their eyes replicated and beautiful.

“For the record, I love you Hasting, no matter how many times you hate on me or try to hit me, I will always love you.” The Queen smiled before walking away.

Zackary almost fell to his feet as he made it into castle Orrander and seeing Cornelius he paused to catch his breath before asking.
“My daughter?”

“I assure you, she’s fine, but please come this way” Cornelius smiled as he led Zackary towards a passageway.

They both came upon a heavy wooden door and immediately Cornelius pushed the door opened. Zackary flew in.
He paused, seeing Rosanne chewing on some delicious red apples, her neck clothed and wrapped.

“What in the world happened to you my child.” Zackary’s voice was filled with nothing but worry.

“Father” Rosanne got on her feet, running up to her father to give him a hug.
“Oh how I missed you” Zackary breathed out as he embraced his daughter.
“You have no idea how I missed you too father.” Rosanne smiled.

Disengaging the hug, Zackary touched Rosanne on the neck and she winced.

“What happened to you? I heard you need to be healed before returning to castle Sylph. What in the world happened to you?” Zackary asked.

Cornelius threw Rosanne a look and Rosanne suddenly let’s out a smile. “Father I have been treated by the royal physicians there is nothing to be worried about.”

“I still want to know what happened… Did the crown prince did this to you?” Zackary asked. His voice low as he breathed out his last sentence.

“Of course not, I fell from the castle stairs and got my neck scratched on one of the torch holders. I’m sorry for being careless father” Rosanne lied with a bow.
“You’re okay now, I’m glad you are, and I’m glad the queen brought you home, you’re going to be home and in time for the Hayest festival.” Zackary smiled.

“Hayest festival? What is that?” Rosanne giggled.

“Now, let me tell you all there is to know about one of the best festival in all of Orrander” Zackary smiled.
~

“So you’re saying the servant saved your life?” The king asked in shock.
“Yes, if not for her I would have been scarred. She saved my life”.

“I warned you not to attend sylph Adalind but you never listened to me.” The king sighed.

“I am glad I did, I am not happy about Rosanne being injured, but for the first time in many years, I saw my son, oh Archie you should see how beautiful he is” The Queen smiled. “He is more of a man than you could ever be”

“Amazing! But he hurt his servant, he tried to hurt you Adalind!”

“And he regretted it instantly.” The Queen paused, she shut her eyes and opened them again to reveal a pair of glossy emeralds.

“Don’t tell me you’re crying now My lady” The king sighed.

“I am grateful. Because I noticed that our son…
The Queen sniffed, wiping her eyes. “I noticed how our son cares for this girl, he never wanted her out of her sight. And the way she stood up to him to tell him things no one could ever tell him, so brave, he has conversations with this girl like a normal lad, his beastfulness is vulnerable towards this girl. I do not understand the bond they have, but I do hope it stays. Immediately she’s healed we’ll take her back to castle sylph, because she’s like a rare antidote who Hasting is slowly starting to love, even without realizing it.”
“You’re sure of your words.” The king asked.
“I am more than sure, I’ll tell some of the royal chefs to fill Zachary’s cottage with foods his l-ips and his daughter l-ips haven’t tasted. It is my gift for her, for letting me see the world a little more brighter now.”

“I can’t believe I’m home.” Rosanne gasped, stepping into her father’s cottage.
“I know you miss the castle more because it’s extravagant in all sources” Zackary smiled.
“of course not father.” Rosanne smiled.

“Now according to the royal physicians you need to rest, and I know you Rosanne you are a busy body, so please go to sleep.” Zackary smiled.

“But I am fine.” Rosanne shrugged.
Her father breathed out a sigh. “Just respect the physicians wishes.”

“Alright, I promise, but only after I see Garam” Rosanne grinned.

“Suit yourself, you’re just like your mother” Zackary shook his head.

“Garam went for a firewood pick up, he should be back any minute from now. He always stops by here anytime he goes out” Zackary explained.
“Then I’ll wait for him at the front door, you have no idea how I miss him father.” Rosanne beamed.

“I know” Zackary added before walking into a closed room.
.
“Aren’t you tired, you back should be hurting for carrying so many w-t logs” Collin said to Martha.
“I’m fine. Does your back hurt?” Martha asked.
“it doesn’t.” Collin replied.
“Then Garam, does yours hurt?” Martha asked.

“Doesn’t!”
“Then mine doesn’t hurt either” Martha smirked.
“But you’re a girl.” Collin scoffed.
“And you’re a boy” Martha smiled.

“Both of you keep your f*cking mouth shut, you’ve been at this since forever,” garam sighed.

“Whoa.” Martha stopped on her tracks, her eyes almost popping out of her head.
“What?” Collin and garam asked in unison stopping too.
“isn’t that…

They both followed Martha’s eyes and turned to where she was looking and slowly garam let’s out a happy gasp as his legs moved faster than his head.

“Rosanne.!” He yelled from afar, waving to the girl waiting by the door step of her father’s cottage.

Rosanne turned to garam and gasped. “Garam.” she yelled back with a happy wave. “Collin, Martha!” she added, noticing the two people behind garam.
