Matilda’s pov 👠

The gala….

I glared maliciously at Mr Statham, what the hell did he just do? What was he thinking saying those words to Tasia?!

“Mr Statham, I’m so disappointed in you.. where’s the everlasting love you promised her?!” I growled at him.. almost getting in his face.

I can feel Marcus pulling me back, but I’m not having any of it.. I just want to grow claws and scratch his face.

Mr Statham scoffed.

“Everlasting love?! Who still believe in that these days?”

He paused and think, his witch clinging closer to him and giggling.. even her giggle sound so fake and evil.

“Oh! I know, only naive and gullible girls like your friend would believe in those lame lies!” He said.

“I can’t believe you could do this to her… ”

“It was bound to happen, we’re not in the same social group… I need someone in my level to help me manage my life and resources!”

Is this man being serious right now? Did he know he just destroyed Anastasia’s life?!

“Mr Statham, do you know this will be the breaking news for tomorrow?”

He nodded with a w¡der smirk.

“Yes, I know.. that’s what I want, I want the wh0le world to see who I really love..I was bewitched by her, but luckily, Claudia was persistent and she succeeded in making me see who exactly your friend is!”

Just like Tasia, I don’t know what moved me.. I break loose from Marcus and lands my hand on Mr Statham’s cheek.

“How dare you slap my fia….”

Cut the little witch off with a slap too, she wanted to slap me back but I caught her hand and twist it.

I smirked as I heard a crack, Mr Statham snatched her hand away from me and pushed me down from the podium.. luckily I didn’t fall.. Marcus caught me.

“Security, get this woman away from here!” Mr Statham called for the security men.

“There’s no need for that, I can walk myself out!” I said.

I turned towards the direction Tasia went, Marcus rushed after me but I stopped and glare at him.

“Don’t come with me, birds of a feather flock together!”

“I don’t understand.. what do you mean, baby?” He asked.

“Stay here with your devil friend.. I don’t wanna see you!” I grit out and run off.

I got outside and looked around, but Tasia wasn’t in sight…she just ran out, where did she go?

Authoress’ pov 👠

Nicklaus glared at Matilda as she runs out the door, he rubbed his cheek softly to numb the stink.

“Nicklaus, she almost broke my hand” Claudia whine.

Nicklaus tenderly checked her hand, he rubbed it for a brief moment before facing the audience again.

“Ladies and gentlemen.. I’m sorry you had to see that drama, sorry for the disturbance.. please, let’s continue with the party!” He said.

The audience clapped briefly and the party continued as usual.. he wrapped his arm around Claudia’s wa-ist and they stepped down from the podium.

“Is your hand still hurting?” Nicklaus asked Claudia.

“No, with you giving me your undivided attention, I feel better!” She replied.

She stared in Nicklaus’s eyes, then slowly lean forward, she closed her eyes and pouts her l-ips.. waiting to crash it on Nicklaus’s.

But Nicklaus chuckled and moved his hand to his l-ips, she k-ssed his hand instead.. then she opened her eyes.

“Why didn’t you let me k-ss you?”

Nicklaus looked around, he leaned closer to her ear and whisper.

“It’s too crowded here!”

Claudia looked around and nod in agreement. “Yes, it’s really crowded!”

“Nicklaus!!” Nicklaus heard Marcus called him.

He turned towards Marcus, he smiled at Marcus but Marcus didn’t return his smile.. he glared at Claudia.

“Did you realized what you just did?!”

“Yes, I broke up with the woman that wanted to extort my wealth” he replied.

Marcus frowned at him, he grabbed Nicklaus’s collar.

“Extort your wealth?! Is that what she is to you now?!”

Nicklaus pushed Marcus away from him.

“Yes! Now it’s either you enjoy the party peacefully.. or leave quietly!!”

Marcus simply gaped at him, he can’t believe this is actually his friend.

“I don’t want to hear about that woman!!” Nicklaus growled angrily.

Marcus nod. “Fine! I’ll leave quietly… I don’t want to breathe the same air with a loser!”

He turned to leave but suddenly stopped as if he just recalled something.. he turned back to Nicklaus.

“FYI.. you don’t know what you just lost!” With that he stormed off.

Nicklaus turned to Claudia and smiled at her.

“Ignore him, let’s enjoy the party!” He told her.

Claudia nod with a very bright smile on face, she look genuinely happy.. like this is one of the happiest day of her life.

“Mr Statham, congratulations!” A man said behind Nicklaus.

Nicklaus turned and realized he’s someone he knows, he reached out for a handshake.

“Thank you, Mr wright!” Nicklaus said.

Mr wright’s eyes moved towards Claudia, he nod in satisfaction.

“Your fiancee is beautiful, you have good taste”

Nicklaus turned to Claudia and smiled.

“Thank you, Mr Wright!”

“It’s alright, I should also enjoy the party too”

“Yeah, carry on!” Nicklaus said.

Mr Wright leaves, just then Mr Orson approached them.. he smiled brightly at Nicklaus.

“Congratulations, Mr Statham!” He said.

“Thank you, Mr Orson!” Nicklaus replied.

“Well, I didn’t think you’d end up with your PA!”

Nicklaus chuckled lightly. “Let’s just say it’s fate… we’re fated to be together!”

“Right, right, we can’t go against fate!”

Nicklaus seemed like he’s getting tired of smiling, since it’s not something he’s being doing… Mr Orson noticed it.

“I should go say hello to others!” Mr Orson said and excused himself.

Claudia takes the glass of wine Nicklaus’s holding and finished it in one gulp.

“Let’s enjoy the party too, let’s drink some wine!” Claudia said.. pointing towards the drinks.

Nicklaus nod and they walked towards the drink.. different people came to congratulate them on their engagement.

A few minutes later, Claudia’s dead drunk and started spouting nonsense… complete nonsense that Nicklaus couldn’t pick out any sensible words.

“Ok… I guess this is the end of today party!” Nicklaus said.

He waved Liam over, Liam jogs towards him.

“Yes, Mr Statham?”

“You’ll do the donation on behalf of Statham enterprise.. I wanna take Claudia home!”

Liam smiled when he saw Claudia leaning on Nicklaus’s shoulder.. he nod and walked away.

Nicklaus swooped Claudia in his arms and head towards the exit…some reporters are standing outside, waiting to interview him.

The reporters started throwing questions at him the moment they saw him.. but luckily, Nicklaus’s security men are on standby.. blocking the reporters away from him.

He walked towards a black car, a driver opened the backseat door and Nicklaus laid Claudia on the seat.. then shut the door.

“Take her to Benjamin’s residence!” Nicklaus ordered the driver.

“Yes, sir!” The driver replied.. he got into the driver’s seat and drove off.

Nicklaus closed his eyes and sighed deeply, he run his fingers through his hair and pushed some fallen hair strands away from his face.

“Mr Statham!” Graham called him.

Nicklaus opened his eyes. “Where’s the car?”

“This way, sir!” He said.

He leads Nicklaus towards a Lamborghini, he opened the backseat door and Nicklaus slides in.. then he got into the driver’s seat.

“Where to, Mr Statham?”

“To my penthouse at outside LA!”

“Yes, sir!” Graham said and drove off.

Nicklaus’s penthouse…

Nicklaus jerked forward as the car comes to a stop right in front of the penthouse.. he didn’t wait for Graham to come get the door for him.

He opened the door himself and quickly stepped out, he rushed towards the front door if his penthouse.

Getting in,side, he saw Marcus and Matilda talking and laughing…cards scattered on the table.

“Where’s my baby?! Is she ok?!” He asked…looking around frantically.

“She’s sleeping” Marcus replied not raising his head.

He reached for a card and tried to take a sneak peek at Matilda’s, but she flicked his forehead and he gro-ned.

“F**k! Woman! Are you trying to murder me?” He grumbles.

Nicklaus shake his head and head towards his room, just then he saw Mr Lopez walked out of another room.

“Dad!” He acknowledged him.

“You’re back, I believe everything went according to plan!”

“Yes, dad”

Mr Lopez nod, he reached for his phone and types something.. then showed it to Nicklaus.

Nicklaus saw the video of Anastasia running from the event in tears… He felt his heart break.

“I know it’s a plan, but you kinda hurt my daughter.. you have a lot of apologizing to do!”

Nicklaus nod. “I know, dad”

Mr Lopez tapped his shoulder and Nicklaus continue his trip to his room.

He stopped outside his room, he knocked on the door and waited a few minutes but he didn’t hear anything.. so, he opened the door and entered the room.

His eyes goes straight to his bed and he saw Anastasia’s sleeping form on the bed…she snuggled under the duvet.

A smile tugs his l-ips, he takes fast steps towards her…he sit next to her on the bed and stared at her face.

Anastasia’s pov 👠

I feel hands car-ssing my hair, my eyes snapped open at at once…then I saw a handsome face smiling at me.

“Klaus?” I asked as if I’m seeing things.

He nod. “Yeah?”

I sit up quickly and throw my arms around him, I hugged him so tight…I took a deep breath and sighed.

“You’re finally back!” I said.

“Yeah” he replied.

I pulled away from him and checked the time, it’s almost 10pm… I frown.

“What took you so long? Why did you spend so much time there?” I asked.

“Well, I couldn’t just leave like that.. they would have suspected something!”

I nod, he’s right. My eyes meets his cheek where I had slapped him, I rub it gently.

“Those it still hurts?”

He shake his head.

“No, I think I kinda deserve it.. my words were pretty harsh and I’m sorry for that”

“It’s fine…”

I trailed off and k-ssed his cheek, I smiled at him and ask.

“… so, how was my acting skills?”

He gave me a thumbs up.

“Excellent!” He replied.

“Rate me… How many stars do I earn?”

“Five stars, you did very well”

I laughed. Ok, I know you’re all wondering what’s going on, well, let me tell you.

So, after Klaus and I left aunt’s apartment….

Dr ghost’s pharmacy…

I frown deeply and stared at Klaus, he wasn’t looking at me, he was looking at the store.

“Klaus?” I called him to get his attention.

He turned to me.

“You said you wanted to discuss something with me?”

He nod and I raised an eyebrow at him.

“Then, why are we here instead?” I asked.

“You’ll find out soon, come on, let’s go in!” He said.

He got out and rushed to my side, he opened the door and I stepped out.. then we head towards the front door of Dr ghost’s pharmacy.

“Oh, you’re both here, excellent!” Dr ghost said immediately we stepped in.

I held onto Klaus’ arm tighter, he chuckled lightly and shake his head.

“Baby, relax, Dr ghost isn’t a bad guy”

Well, tell that to his creepy personality and creepy shop.

“Please come with me” he said and walked towards a door.

Klaus and I followed him, he opened the door and we all entered the room.

I saw Matilda and Marcus sitting on a chair facing… Jack?!

I mean, he does look like Jack but I can’t really tell if he’s actually Jack… because his face is pretty much disfigured.

He looked like he’s taken enough beating to last a lifetime.. God!

“Klaus, what’s going on? Why is he here?” I asked referring to Jack.

Matilda told me he’s in the police custody, then what’s he doing here?

“Anastasia, let me do some introduction.. this is Dr ghost, he’s been helping me search for our parents killer..”

My eyes move away from Jack to Dr ghost, he sent me a smile which I return with my own nervous smile.

“… so, we kinda already know who’s behind everything but we have to lure him out, so he can be put begin bars!”

I turned to Klaus.

“You found the killers?”

He nod.

“Who?” I asked.

“Claudia’s father!” He replied.

I frown.. Claudia’s father?! How could that happen?!

“Wasn’t he the one that fought for you? Wasn’t he the one that helped you acquire the CEO position?”

“Yes”

My frown deepens.

“Then why are you suspecting him? Isn’t he dead already?” I asked.

“We’re not suspecting him, he’s the one.. beside, he’s not dead and he’s been contacting Claudia secretly”

Hmm, but why would he turn against Klaus? Why would he destroy something he fought so hærd to achieve?

“We also know he’s the one behind Jack raping you!” Marcus said.

“What?”

“Yes, according to Jack, Claudia’s father came to him and told him to fight for you.. he persuaded Jack to get you pregnant as soon as possible then you’ll willingly agree to be with him… ”

Huh?! And Jack believed that?! Even if he had successfully got me pregnant I wouldn’t have agreed to be with him.. I’ll always see him as a rapist!

“… Jack said, he didn’t actually know someone was making a video of the scene.. he said you’re both the only people in the house, which means only one thing… ”

She paused and searched for something in her bag, it’s a very small camera that can be hidden anywhere.

“… someone planted this camera in his house without his notice!” She concluded.

I guess she and Marcus went over to Jack’s apartment to search for evidence and found this.

“Now, that being said, let’s get back to what’s gonna happen tonight at the gala!” Dr ghost said.

“Right… ” Marcus reached for his pocket and brought out a flash drive. “… Matilda saw this flash by chance and thankfully, it provided us with a very important warning”

I frown as I stared at the flash, wondering what they found out in,side.

“According to the conversation on this flash, Claudia’s father is gonna play the rape video at the gala tonight to disgrace you and force Klaus to marry his daughter.. though he won’t be coming there, he has a spy that’s working for him… ”

He dropped the flash on the table… they’re gonna play the video?! Everyone’s gonna see it!

My life will be over! I can’t live a normal life after that!

“… which is why Dr ghost came up with this plan!” He turned to Klaus to continue from where he stopped.

“What’s the plan?!” I asked Klaus anxiously.

Klaus sighed.

“I’ll pretend to break up with you at the gala and agree to Claudia’s engagement!”

My eyes grew wide and I shake my head in disagreement.

“No! Isn’t there any other way?”

“It’s the only way….”

“No! I don’t agree! I don’t want a break up!” I said.

“It’s not a real break up, it’s fake…”

“I don’t agree, I don’t care if it’s fake or real.. I don’t agree!” I said stubbornly.

Klaus sighed, he took my hands in his.

“Anastasia, Claudia’s father is very dangerous.. if I don’t pretend to break up with you, he’ll come for you and he’ll kill you!”

I didn’t speak, then he continued.

“Please, just do this with me to save our relationsh¡p… I swear, I won’t marry Claudia.. just listen to the plan, then you can decide if you’ll play along or not!”

Well, that’s reasonable, I nod, he cleared his throat and began.

“I’ll break up with you and tell you some hurtful words, accused you for Jack raping you.. that way they won’t be able to play the video because I’ve already informed everyone about it.. me saying it, is better than them playing the actual scene on a big screen!”

Hmm.. he’s right, if he say it many will doubt him.. but if they play it on a big screen, I wouldn’t know what will happen to me.

“But if you agree to Claudia’s engagement, what about the wedding.. what will happen on the wedding day?” I asked.

“They’ll be apprehended and send to jail”

I nod. “It’s a nice plan, I’m in!” I said.

Klaus smiled, he pinched my nose softly. “I know you’d agree”

“It’s good that you agree, I want to add another short scene!” Dr ghost said.

We all looked at him questioningly.

“Benjamin is a snake, he won’t leave Anastasia alone even after you break up with him.. so, we’ll have to fake her death”

“How?” We all asked at once.

“We’ll program a car that will pretend like it ran over her…and we’ll take her to a safer place!”

We all nod, he’s definitely right.

“That’s a very good plan!” Klaus said.

“Yeah..but I hope you’re not going to give us away?” Dr ghost asked looking at me.

“I can do it!” I said..though I’m not sure if I can do it.

I was actually scared but Klaus had assured me that we’ll be fine.

“We couldn’t have done it without you, thank you, baby!” Klaus said.. he leaned forward and k-ssed my l-ips sweetly and briefly.

“You were there, I did it because I trust you!”

He nod.

“So, how did you manage the accident part? I was scared, I thought Graham would act carelessly and actually hit you!”

I laughed and shake my head.

“No, he was very careful!”

After I ran out, I stopped by the road and shed some fake tears.. stylishly looking if Graham is coming.

Then I saw Klaus’ black Ferrari coming, I knew it’s Graham, so I quickly rushed in front of him and pretended like I’m shocked.

I raised my hands as a signal for him to stop, he stopped abruptly, then I fell down and pretended like I’m out of breath.

He stepped out of the car and rushed towards me.

“Miss Lopez, are you ok? Did I hit you?” He asked.

“Stop asking questions and get me out of here!” I grit out.

“Oh! Right!” He said and swooped me in his arms.

“Wow! You were awesome, I respect you!” Klaus said and started clapping his hands.

I grin and did a bow.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you my fans!” I said.

He clapped for a few more moments then stopped, he take my hands in his…he stared in my eyes.

“Baby, I’m really sorry I said those words..even if they didn’t hurt, they hurt me saying them…I’m very sorry”

Just then Klaus’ phone rang, he reached for it and checked the caller’s ID.. he smiled and showed it to me.

It’s his mom.

“I’ll put her on speakerphone!” He said and answer the call.. then put it on speakerphone.

“Nicklaus Wilhelm Statham! What’s that news about?! What’s happening to you and Anastasia?! What sort of public disgrace is that?!” She growled.

I looked at Klaus and laid back on the bed, resting my head against the headboard.

I’m so gonna enjoy this show!
