She shouted being so shocked.

“Mom what’s this bastard,this ungreatful human being doing in my house?
She shouted angrily.

“Pearl calm down first and let him in”
The mother said.

“Let who in Mom? He made it cleared to me eight years ago that I should not step feet in his house that he got nothing to do with me anymore then why is he here?
She shouted angrily.

“Pearl I said you should calm down first and let him in then you will hear all he have to say”
Mother said.

“Okay am letting him in just because you said so”
She sounded.

“Thank you Pearl!
He sounded,Pearl gave him a blink that can send someone to his early grave and walked in,side.

Princess rushed and hugged her grandma,
“Good evening Grandma!

“Evening my daughter,how are you doing?

“Am fine Grandma!

“That must be my daughter”
Joe sounded excitedly.

“Whose daughter? Did you have a child?
Pearl shouted at him angrily.

“Mom who is this man?
Princess asked looking at the man with a confusion head.

“He is nobody baby,you know what go up to your room okay”
She said as Princess obeyed and went up to her room.

“Mom why did you brought this thing into my house?
She shouted being so angry.

Joe inhaled and exhaled and started apologizing,
“Pearl I know I have done so many awful things to you in the past,for the past eight years you left I have not been myself,I feel so bad for abandoning you and our child…..Pearl interrupted him.

“Point of correction not our child,my child”
She shouted angrily and Joe continued.

“Pearl am deeply sorry for not accepting our child,I was so foolish and navie for not wanting to father a child but I have come to realized all my mistakes that I have come to pleaded with you to forgive me and am willing to correct all my wrongs,please Pearl forgive me and give me the chance to prove you that am now a different person am no longer the Joe used to know back then”
He knelt down and pleaded being so sorry for all the things he has done to her.

“I should forgive you Joe? Why should I forgive you? You made it cleared to me that you don’t want me nor the baby so why are you back and asking for my forgiveness?
She shouted angrily.

“Because all my life I have live in regret that’s why I want to correct back all my wrongs if only you will give me the chance to prove that to you”
He pleaded.

“No Joe! You did not deserve any of my forgiveness,Did you still remember how many abortions I done for you? eight abortions all because I love you but what I did I get in return? you threw out of your house and out of your life all because I refused to abort this baby you are after now so tell me why I should forgive you? Joe you did not deserve any of my forgiveness infact leave my house”
She shouted angrily.

“Am deeply sorry Pearl, please find a place in your heart and forgive me,mother please help me and pleaded for her forgiveness”
He sounded.
Meanwhile Princess was in the stairs eardrops them.

“Pearl If I said I don’t understand how you are feeling right now simply call me a fool and I really know what you went through bringing Princess up to this stage of life she is now please my daughter I believe Joe here is a change person…
Joe interrupted her.

“Yes Pearl am a change person I assure that to you,please forgive me”
He pleaded still kneeling down.

“Please forgive him if not for anything for the sake of Princess,she need to know who her father is and Joe here need to bound with his daughter too”
She pleaded.

“Mother you said I should forgive him,Have you forgotten all I went through bringing up Princess,have you forgotten Mother?
She shouted still angry.

“I have not forgotten all that you went through but he have come back to write back all his wrongs please Pearl you have to let bygones be bygones and forgive him for the sake of Princess”
She pleaded.

Princess came down, walked to Joe and started shouting at him.

“So you are the man that left me and my Mom you said you don’t want me then what are you doing in our house? I don’t want you,I don’t need a father like you”
She shouted angrily.

“No Princess! Don’t shout at your father like that okay”
Pearl said bringing her back.

Joe moved to her and started apologizing,
“Am so sorry Princess I was so navie and foolish back then and I have realized my mistakes that why am here to ask for your forgiveness,please my child forgive your father I promise to shower you all the fatherly love you always carve for”
He pleaded and trying to hold her hands.

Princess shouted at him,
“Get your hands off me! I was dead to you back then and even to now am still dead to you and you are also dead to me I don’t want a father figure like you infact I have gotten myself a good father figure so you can take back all your fatherly love or care back to yourself because I don’t need it thank you”
They became so astonished of her speech.

“Why is he back to us he suppose to be dead to us”
She mumbled and walked out,Pearl tried to call her back but she ignored all her callings and went up to her room.

“Princess is damn angry with me”
Joe sounded with his two hands on his head.

“Why won’t she not be angry with you? or did you expect her to jump into your arms wholeheartedly for coming back to her life for the past eight years?
She shouted angrily.

“Please Pearl help me to talk her on my behalf am now a change person and am willing to make things right again”
He pleaded.

“I have heard you, you may now leave my house”
She shouted.

“Where will I go to Pearl? You know I came from Abuja to this place I got nowhere to go”
He said.

“Then go get yourself a hotel”
She shouted.

“Why should he go and waste his money on hotel room when his family have a house here? Pearl I suggest you should let Joe stay here so that he and Princess will start bounding together like father and daughter and in that way you will get to know how much he have changed”
The mother suggested.

“I got nothing to say anymore”
She said and went up to meet Princess.

“Mother please you have to help me and ask for their forgiveness on my behalf am a change person now and I want to prove that to them”
He said.

“Don’t worry Joe,I will talk to my daughter and hopefully things will turn out fine”
She said to him.

Princess shouted.

“Princess I understand how you are feeling right now but you have to forgive him,he is still your father”
She said car–sing her hair.

“A father that don’t want his child! What type of father is he? infact I don’t need him Uncle Bryan is my father now”
She sounded.

“Bryan can still be your father but Joe is the one who put the seed of you in,side me so he is your real father please you have to give forgive him I believe he is now a change person”
She said.

“But Mom have you forgiven him already?
She asked.

“For your sake I did,you need to get to know your father and I believe he will care and love you”
She said.

“Mom does it mean that you and Dad Bryan will not be friends again?
She asked.

“No dear,Joe being around won’t stop me from associating with Bryan so my dear you have to forgive Joe your Dad I know what he did to us is so bad but all the same he is still your father”
She said.

“Okay Mom,am only forgiving him because you ask me if not I won’t forgive him for not wanting me in his life”
She sounded.

“It’s well my child”
She said and pecked her on the cheek,she car–sing her hair until she slept off.

He said with smiles and Pearl didn’t utter any word to him.

“As I said I have come to rewrite all my wrongs to you and also prove to you that am now a change person and I will want to start correcting all my wrongs by asking you to be my wife”
He said.

“Your what? You can’t be serious Joe!
She sounded,his statement sounded so unbelievable to her.

“Am more then serious Pearl,I want to marry you and give Princess the fatherly love and care she need,I want our family to be together”
He said bring more serious.

Pearl started shouting at him,
“What makes you think I will marry a man like you? Did you think my forgiveness to you will warrant you for asking me to be your wife? if you are dreaming you should better wake up nothing such will ever happen between me and you the only access you have is to bound with your daughter and nothing more”

“Pearl don’t you think the only way for me and Princess to bound together is for you to be my wife then we will live together with our child? Please consider my offer”
He said.

“That will never happen I can’t be your wife Joe!
Pearl shouted and walked upstairs.

“Please Pearl think about my proposal,let rekindle back our love”
He shouted to her hearing.

“Pearl I want to understand why you turn down Joe’s proposal?
Her mother asked.

“Because I don’t want to marry Joe”
She gave her a plain answer.

“You don’t want to marry him? Did you just said that or did I just heard it from someone’s mouth? Pearl it seems you have forgotten your age Incase you have let me remind you,you are thirty and at your age you suppose to be in man’s house now you have seen someone that want to marry you not ordinary man the father of your daughter and you are here saying you don’t want to marry him, what’s even wrong with you?
She shouted at her angrily.

“Mother how may sure that Joe is now a change person as he claims to be?
She asked.

“Can’t you see the handwriting written on the wall? If Joe is not a change person did you think he will come back for you nor even ask you to be his wife? As for me am seeing a different Joe”
She shouted.

“Mother I have this feeling that Joe is faking this thing of being a change person”
She sounded.

“You better kill that your feeling there,Joe have come back for you and now daughter it’s right now you did the needful by accepting him as your husband”
She said and paused for a while.

“Pearl you know Princess is a girl one day she will become a lady and ready to be marry did you think any man will marry her after realizing she came from a broken home? A home where father and mother are not together all because of the mother so my dear before you will make any nasty decision consider your daughter’s future”
She said to her and made her way out from the room.

Pearl became so worried she don’t know the decision to make anymore,she bend down her head thinking about what to do.

Anne asked at the moment she rushed in to see her.

“Anne so confused right now I don’t know the decision to make anymore”
She sounded being so worried.

“What are you talking about? What decision?
She asked being so confused.

“Remember I know you that Joe came to ask for our forgiveness?
She asked.

“Yes! Yes I remembered”
She answer nodding her head.

“And now he is asking me to marry him to make things right between us again and the other hand Mother has been giving me headache to accept his proposal,I don’t know what to do”
She sounded.

“Marriage is such a serious commitment,is not something someone can joke about”
She said.

“That’s why am confused I don’t know the decision to make”
She sounded.

“Pearl did you still have feelings for Joe?
She asked.

“How can you ask me such? You know i don’t love him anymore,the feelings I once had for him was killed eight years ago”
She said.

“Pearl can’t make decision for you the decision are in your hands to make and please why making any decisions bear it in mind that have Bryan who love and care for you and Princess so much so please don’t make any decisions that will jeopardize your relationsh¡p with him”
She said.

Anne hugged her and said,
“Please make a wise decision over this,I have to rush back to the office now okay”

“Okay take care”
She see her off from the door.
