I woke up in the morning feeling weak and dizzy. Early signs of pregnancy was begining to show in my body and i couldn’t help it. I managed to stand up from the bed but sat after few seconds because I was very weak .

I managed to get up again atleast to do some morning chores to avoid yelling from either of my parents. Yeah of course I was already a target!. Any little wrong I did was taken as a case that is supposed to be settled in court

” Good morning mum” I greeted as I saw her coming out of her room

” Angela what is the time ” She asked ignoring my greeting

I clicked the power button of my phone and it came up showing the Wallpaper which contained the date, time etc

“It’s fifteen minutes past 8 ma” I replied innocently

” It’s past 8 and you are just waking up? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? ” She Yelled

“Am sorry mum ” I said with my face facing the floor

“Sorry for your foolish self” She said and left my presence

I planned of going to the kitchen to wash the dishes there but mum called me back immediately I wanted to move

” Hey stop there ” Mum shouted and I turned to know if I was the one she was referring to

“Mum are you taking to me? ” I asked innocently

” Your dull brain couldn’t tell you I was referring to you! Who else is here If not you? ” She yelled and I became sad

I didn’t blame her a bit. She was right in what ever way she treated me. I brought disgrace to the family and i have not produced the name of the father. No parent could have behaved better

” Go downstairs and tell Audu to make sure he wash my car before am done preparing for work” She said not looking at me

“Ok mum” I said and left immediately

I reached Audu’s room and knocked severally without any response. I wondered if he was dead because no living being will still be sleeping after the heavy knocking I did on the door

” Where the hell is this man? I asked myself

“Audu!” I shouted once again but still got no reply

At this point I got vexed! Going back upstairs without delivering the message mum sent me was a huge risk because I might get another episode of yelling before she leave for work

I went closer to the door , this time determined to open it no matter how disrespectful he might find it. I didn’t care anymore.

I bent the handle of the door but to my surprise I saw an empty room.

“What is going on here ” I asked myself as if I was expecting an answer from someone

There was not single property in the room. It was like a place been deserted long ago

I rushed up to inform mum on the latest update

” Mum Audu’s room is empty ” I said immediately I entered the sitting room where she was sitting

” What do you mean by that? ‘ she asked not smiling

” I opened the door to audu’s room and saw nothing, not even his property

“What is going on here? ” Dad asked as he entered the sitting room

” Dad Audu ran away! ” I said and he got alarmed

” And what does that mean ? ” Dad asked looking suprised

” I went to the room to deliver the message mum sent to him but found nothing there ” I managed to answer

Dad moved immediately followed by mum and me. Without being told, he was heading to Audi’s room to see things for himself

“What is the meaning of all these? Dad asked not expecting an answer from anyone

Dad tried dialing Audu’s number but it was switched off.. He put back his phone inside his pocket and entered the room again perhaps to check if everything will magically appear again 😆

” Something is wrong somewhere but I can’t understand it! What could have made Audu run away? I pay him well and he is treated well. What then??? ” Dad asked not expecting an answer from anyone

“What ever it is, I will find out soon ” Dad said and moved to his car to leave

” And for you Angela , I dnt want to see you when I return for work. Go to the father of that bastard you are carrying since you don’t want to tell us his name or you will not live to tell the story ” Dad said with all seriousness and fear enveloped me

The look on dad’s face showed that he meant what he said. Dad does not make empty threats and that alone feared me

Mum left immediately after dad leaving me alone at home to face the doom I put myself into

Audu sudden departure have already cleared from my memory. All I thought about now was myself. How I was going to explain to my parents especially dad how I got pregnant!. Dad have threatened to deal ruthlessly with me if he comes back and see me at home. Where he wants me to go to is what I still don’t know? Oh God things are getting out of hand.

“Where will I run to? Who will I ask for help? All this questions kept ringing in my head. I thought of Bella, but hell no! She wouldn’t allow me to stay with in the same house with her husband to be. Of course that would be too risky for her.

Who? Just who? Tears dripped down my eyes . To me all hope was lost.

“So I would be a single mother?” I said and wept bitterly. And the worst part of it is that I have not gotten admission into a university neither do I have a job doing. I am simply going to my doom

I stood up from the ground I was sitting and went inside. I took my bath and started packing some of my clothes inside a little bag used fr travel. My plan was to go to Brian’s and pretend I came to spend time with them. At least so dad will calm down a little bit before I come back

All I needed was a place to cool down my head. That’s all!! . I dialed Brian’s number at least to inform him before coming over

I was in the hospital, right beside the Love of My Life (LOML) . I couldn’t just leave his side. He have begged me severally to go home and freshen up but I refused because the last time I obeyed that, I came back and met him crying for a reason I still don’t know

Recently , I have been noticing unusual reactions in my body . First was usual Fatigue and secondly was swelling up of different part of my body especially my legs . I haven’t had such experience before so I categorized it as the effect of stress

I sat down all alone in the room feeling bored. Mike was already out so I was left all alone to face the bad side of my relationship

Mum and dad walked in at around 5:30pm in the evening. I was surprised at there visit for I was not expecting it. Yes not even s visit from dad because he have not visited since Frank was admitted

“How are you doing darling” Mum asked immediately I stood up welcome them

“Dad you came! ” I said and went to hug dad

“Yes baby. Sorry I haven’t been here. I have busy with business” Dad said and I smiled

” No problem dad! ” I replied with a smile

“How is doing? ” Dad asked referring to Frank

“He’s getting better” I said with a moody face

” Baby you look so worn out” Mum cut in and I sat back in the chair I was sitting before

” So I see it mum! I just don’t have a choice! Frank is my fiance and it’s my responsibility to take care of him ” I replied

“But you can do this alone! What of his family? ” Mum asked and shifted dad’s attention to me perhaps expecting an answer from me

” He insisted I should not contact his family. His mum is down on High BP and the news might trigger it ” I said and mum put on a pitiful face

“Ooh so sorry him” Mum said with a touch of pity

” When last did you see your period ? ” Mum asked and dad put on a surprised look

” What going on? Why all this weird questions? ” Dad asked

” Jennifer I demand you go for a pregnancy test ” Mum said with authority

” But why mum? ” I replied looking confused

“Honey what going on? Can you explain? ” Dad asked and mum took him to a corner for a brief discussion.

They both came back and to my surprised dad joined mum in insisting I go for a pregnancy test . What wrong with them? Pregnancy test? Just because I told her the reactions I was having

I couldn’t disrespect them. Not when dad was involved so I agreed to go for the test on the agreement that they will tell me the reason for it

Since few hours Angela came she have been acting weird. First was when she came. I welcomed her bt she gave me a cold response. The only time she smiled was when I told her my parents was out of a 2 months trip.

“Angela what’s really wrong with you? ” I asked when I could no longer hold myself

“Me? Am fine ” She said and turned her face again

” Why are you lying to me? Or do you want to be arrested? ” I joked but she didn’t find it funny or maybe she did but she was not in the mood to laugh

” Am fine Brian ” She said not looking at Me

I knew she was lying. The Angela I know is not a moody type . I went and sat in front of her .I was determined on knowing what was wrong with her

” Angela I don’t really know what is wrong with you ..but what ever it is, Remember a problem shared is half solved. Keep it to yourself will not help in anyway” I said in a low tone almost feeling like a motivational speaker

She looked at me and tears started dropping from her eyes

“Please share it with me Angela” I pleaded

” Am pregnant Brian and I don’t know who is responsible” she said as tears flowed down her eyes

“Holy shit ” I shouted in surprise . I didn’t even know when this came out from my mouth .

I hug her while she continued crying . I was a little bit puzzled. Pregnant? And does not know who is responsible? Is that really possible?

I didn’t ask her more questions. Of course that was not the right time . Even if I will help. That will be later

I sat patiently waiting fr the result of the test I went for. Mum and dad were also sitting beside me discussing in low tone. To me the test was just to prove mum wrong I knew or will I say I thought I was not pregnant

“How on earth will mum ever think am pregnant? She said he found out through her local process! What fucking local shit!!

“Miss Jennifer Edward come in” The nurse shouted immediately the patient in the doctors room left. It was obvious I was the next person

I stood up immediately and mum and followed me. What the hell is wrong with them? Why are they following me as if am a kid. Why can’t they wait outside?

“I guess you are miss Angela Edward” The doctor asked referring to me

“Yes” I said and Nodded

” Ok please you can have a sit ” The doctor said and I sat down

“I guess the people standing behind you are your parents ” The doctor said in a whisper and I nodded

” Can you tell them to wait outside ” He whispered

I felt a little bit embarrassed. Mum and dad stood behind me staring at me and the doctor as we whispered. They were supposed to be outside. Of course there was only one chair left fr patients which I sat on.

” Mum please can you go outside with dad? As you can see there is no chair here for you to seat ” I pleaded

“Dnt worry we are fine here ” Mum replied sharply

Shit! I was totally embarrassed

” What’s the result of the test ” I asked as the doctor handed a white envelope to Me

The doctor paused fr a while. He already understands what is going on. I guessed that is the main reason he told mum and dad to wait outside

“Miss Angela. The test we ran shows that you are 2 months pregnant ” The doctor said and my heart skipped!

“What are you talking about? I asked looking surprised

” I knew it ! I was sure of what I noticed! Why is it that this children are bent on disgracing me! ” Mum said and left the doctors office immediately

” Doctors dnt be offended please. Are you sure about what you are saying? Are you sure that there is no mix up some where ” Dad after recovering from the shock

” Sir this hospital is a reputable one. We dnt make such mistakes ” The doctor replied with a touch of pride

I couldn’t understand what is going on. Me? Jennifer? Pregnant? How on earth? Truly I didn’t see this coming. I never expected this at all.

Out of the hospital mum was already shouting on top of her voices. It took much pleading from dad to calm her down.

At home I was already facing a panel. Mum and dad were already asking for the father of the baby . That wasn’t a hard question though.

” Jennifer I dnt want to waste much time here, who is the father if that baby? ” Dad asked not smiling

I kept silent and this got mum vexed

“Are you deaf ? ” Mum yelled

“It’s for Frank ” I finally replied

” Ooh I see! ” Mum replied sighing

” Children of these days.. You people are not yet married bt you have started eating the forbidden fruit ” Dad joked but mum didn’t find it funny

” Jennifer am disappointed! Why can’t you wait till after marriage? Is that why I taught you? I thought you are different Jennifer! Yeah Angela’s came as a surprise to me but believe me I never expected this from you. Read my lips ” Mum said and left

I was touched. The words really hit my bone marrow. I have disappointed mum . It’s not really easy you know. Which mother will be happy seeing two of there daughters pregnant before marriage?

I left for the hospital immediately. I must tell Frank. The marriage plans should be fastened because that is the only thing that can make mummy happy again
