“Suzette, don’t make me shout this morning o, just sign these papers and leave or you don’t want to go to school again?”. My Aunty Tasha threatened.

“I just wanted to read the papers before signing them, is anything bad there?”.

She shot me a glare. “Its like you are very stupid, do not make me repeat my self”.

Why does she want me to sign on these papers badly?

I feel something is wrong somewhere, I know that aunty and uncle are bad people.

“Aunty, I’m sorry but I can’t sign them”. I said to her politely stepping backwards.

“You can’t sign them? I’m telling you to do something and you are saying No?”

“But at least, let me read__”.

“Will you shut your mouth and she yelled at me landing a slap on my face .

I stepped backwards again.

“You won’t sign these, right?”. She asks shuffling the papers before snapping her fingers at me. “Don’t worry, you’ll see”.

I stood there looking at her as she shoved the papers into her handbag.

Uncle Richærd stared at me with so much hearted that filled his eye’s.

What could possibly be in those papers?

“And why are you still standing there?”.fool move out of my sight before I will lose my temper on you.

I quickly turned around and left his room closing the door walking away fast before they could call me again.

I walked down the stairs still thinking about what happened.

I have a bad feeling about all these.

“Suzette?”.

I look forward to see our driver waiting for me downstairs. “I thought you’ll be in the dining”.

“I lost my appetite, I’m not hungry anymore, lets go to school”.

“Did you quarrel with Amber?”. I asked him taking a guess.

“She’s so annoying”. He began talking as we walked towards the door. “I can’t stand her talks anymore”. I will have to quit working here.

Just ignored her,even if she insult’s you just make her fell like your not hurt by her words and also avoid her.

He rolled his eyes. “Its not as if I care about her. I just wish I was the only child “and I wish I’m from a rich family.

“Being the only child is lonely, you’ll have no one to talk to”. I told him as I remembered being the only child back then.

“So why did my Mummy call you upstairs ?”.

Amber asked ,blocking my way .

“She wanted to tell me something”.

She stopped looking at me. “Something like what?”.

Something like ,Amber should respect her f-cking dam self and move out of my way.

Animal what are you still waiting for ,I’m already late to school .
Amber yelled at our driver.

“We are not that late”. I shrugged getting to the car.

“We are and its because you were busy with my mom when you were supposed to be eating breakfast.

I shook my head getting into the car as I sat at the backseat next to her.

I kept on wondering why aunty and uncle will be forcing me to sign the doc-ments without reading it.

Something fishy is going on somewhere, but I can’t place my finger’s on anything.

I closed my eye’s so tight as tears trickled down from my eyes to my face.

I tired hærd to remember anything about my family , my head spined around ,as I thought hærd.

The only thing I could remember was that ,we were going to my dad’s company, before our car got robbed by thief’s.

” We were not that lucky , cause my dad was shot on his left leg.

Me and my mom that we weren’t shot but not so lucky. They we’re driving me to school , school the next day, we didn’t get to the school before my Dad and Mum had an accident on their way to my school.

I was the only surviving one that came outside the car alive, my mom and Dad died ,including our maid Snow.

“I don’t even like telling anyone any side of the story “. It hurts to know that its the only memory i had with my parents that i can remember I said quietly.

I nodded facing the window staring at the passing cars as I thought about my past life.

The image of a young man kept on replaying on my head, I have seen him somewhere , I wish I could see him again.

Maybe he can help me out in remembering everything about myself.

“Kim!!!”.

I paused hearing my name.

“Lucas is the one calling you”. Betty whispered to me hastily. “But didn’t look back”.

I sighed. “I wasn’t even going to look back. I was thinking it was Kingsley”.

“Kingsley isn’t even in school yet, its so unlike him. Do you think he’s still going to come?”.

“I don’t even know. I didn’t call to check up on him this morning, you know that he acts cold towards everyone expect Suzette.

I was so busy hoping that Lucas would come pick me up”. I replied. “But once its 8 on the dot, Kingsley can’t come to school again”.

“Do you think he’s sick?”.

“No, he doesn’t get sick. Maybe he just slept off and forgot today was school”.

“Oh. Okay”.

I looked at her. “What are you even that concerned about him?”.

“I told you I like him. Did you think I was joking or what?”.

“For real?”. I gasped. “Betty, you really like him?

“Yes, Kimberly. But I told you all this things since now”.

“Honestly, I thought what you had for Kingsley was just lust . I didn’t know it was more than that o”.

“Do you think I have a chance with him ?”.

I shrugged. “I don’t know. Kingsley has never liked a girl before so I wouldn’t know his spec but I’ll stylishly ask him “.

“Thank you, you are the best friend ever”.

“But don’t get your hopes up o”, because of Pearl. I said to her. “You are not the only girl that likes him in that class”.

“I know. And I really hope he looks at me, I even wanted to start sitting with him , not when that Suzette girl sat there”.

I paused looking at her.

What if ,Lucas falls in love with Suzette what would you do Kim ?

“Betty, you can walk off”. I stopped in the middle of my tracks. “I don’t want to be angry at you”.

“Why are you suddenly getting upset , I was only joking?”.

“Just please walk away, I don’t want to say anything that might jeopardize our friendsh¡p”.

Betty paused before walking off going ahead to the school building.
I sighed.

If not that Betty is my best friend, that’s why I just handled the situation calmly like that.

If it was another person, I would have insulted that person.

“Kim!”. A hand wrapped around my shoulders.

I looked sideways to see Lucas and frowned removing his hand. “Please do not touch me”.

“What?”. He removed his hand. “Why is your face looking like that?”.

I ignored him moving forward and he tried to hold my hand.

“Lucas, don’t touch me”. I shoved his hand away. “Is it until I push you away that you’ll hear me?”.

“Kimberly, why are you acting like this way?”. What did I do this time around ?

“I don’t know. Maybe someone flattened my hope this morning when he promised he was going to take me to school and then he totally forgot about me”.

“Oh, its about that”.

“Yes, its about that”. I snapped at him.

He scoffed. “Kim, calm down now,

“If you knew you weren’t going to come then why did you lie? I really thought you were going to show up”. I said a little more calmly.

“I didn’t even think you would take me seriously”.

“So you were joking about taking me to school? Do you know how long I waited for you? And then I come to school and see you in the group of those girls”.

“Kim, stop sounding like that”.

“How should I sound like, Lucas? I’m hurt that you could__”.

“I didn’t forget about you, Kimberly. I can’t forget about you”.

I crossed my arms. “Then what happened?”.

“It was my dad . he came back this morning and decided to take me to school.

I had to go with him, since I would get to spend time with him.

“I’m pretty sure there would have been space for me in the car. Even if there wasn’t any space, you could have just given me a call and say you won’t come pick me up”.

He sighed. “Kimberly. You don’t understand, I couldn’t tell dad and bro Blake that I was supposed to come meet you because they would have made fun of me”.

“Are you lying?”.

“No, Kim. I’m actually serious. They usually make fun of me that I’m too close to you, that I always act like a boy friend to you, that I like you, that me and you always behave like a couple”. Ever since I broke up with Amber.

I blushed unconsciously.

“Whats bad about them making fun of you? They are families, its only normal, do you know how many times silver usually makes fun of me that you are my boyfriend”.

“Kim, you don’t get. I hate it when they say all that”.

“Why?”. I ask curiously.

“Because I don’t like you like they say. And we can never be a couple because you are just a friend to me”. And you’re Amber’s friend .
