Brume’s pov
“Thats okay, am happy you love me back. Rose, I will never disappoint you. You’re my life and I will always protect you. I love you Rose” I beamed with a smile on my l-ips when she said that.
“I love you too” she sniffed, a tear dropping out.
I was beyond happy. She’d love me back. I knew it.
I made her stood up and dusted her w-t gown which was glued to her body.
“Let’s go home” I whispered.
She nodded her head and we left the river.
We got to her house, seeing her mother made me nervous.
Will she talk? Am holding her daughter? I just hope I won’t receive insults. I closed my eyes and open them back again.
“You’re okay? Is it about my mother?” She asked.
“Yeah. Is she going to say anything?”
“Humm, am not sure but my mother isn’t strict. She’s nice and understanding” She answered.
Somehow, I was relieved.
I don’t want someone to come and pour hot water on my head. Or use broom to chase me out like chicken.
Her mother was busy picking beans, she raised her head up to see us. We were welcomed with smile.
I can’t explain that smile oo. It somehow.
“Good evening….sorry good morning ma” I stuttered.
I removed my hand from rose’s and we stood a metre apart.
“How are you my son? How’s family? Rose what happened to you? You’re w-t.” Her mother exclaimed.
“Ma, she fell into the river. Some girls pushed her. And she can’t swim, so, I decided to save her” I replied.
“Oh my goodness! Those girls will surely suffer for what they did to my daughter. Thank you my son. God will continue to bless you for me” She said and I answered with ‘Amen’
“I will be going now, Rose see you around another time. Good bye ma.” I turned to leave, giving Rose a wink.

Enita’s pov
One week later…….
“Mom, am going to miss you.” I pouted.
Three weeks is finally over. Am really going to miss this place again.
“Hey! Stop behaving like a baby. You’re still coming back next month right?” She said and I nodded.
We are coming next month again for the traditional wedding. Am just praying I won’t cause any trouble that day.
“Okay mom, what about the soup you wanted to give me? I can’t forget” She laughed and raised the polythene bag behind her up.
“Are sure they won’t collect this food in your hand at the airport?”
“Why will they collect the food in my hand? Is not possible. They can just ask me to taste it. Once they see am not dead, am free to go” I grinned.
Gosh!
“Okay. Greet all the white men for me. Tell them I love them” My mom squealed.
“The white men? Why not the women? So you want to leave me for those people right?” My father spoke and pull a long face.
“No sweetheart, am just trying to tell Enita to greet all the white people for me” My mother replied, holding my father’s cheek.
Now I know, men blush.
My father is actually blushing.
“Now you’re smiling. You know I love you” Mom stated.
“I know now, Oya one k-ss here” My father pointed to his left cheek.
Mom giggled and gave him a peck.
They both laughed.
“I think everything is set now. We can go. Good bye mama Enita and Papa Enita” My uncle who was busy having a little chat with aunt Stella’s father.
“Okay, good bye and safe journey. Don’t forget to call me when you get there.” My father yelled.
“Brother, you’re already going? Aissh! I will not see anyone to play with now” Brume gro-ned.
“Am still coming back next month okay? Just take Care of mom and dad” I said and hop in to the car.

The plane took long before it could take off. I rested my head on Mimi’s shoulder with my eyes closed.
Soon, we heard the pilot saying we were about to land and everyone should fasten his/her belt.
The plane landed safely and we are in London again. Finally.
I breathe out and held Mimi’s hand with my luggage beside me and hers beside her too.
My uncle called someone on phone to come pick us. A car arrived and took us back to our house.
We are home again.

Mimi went back to her apartment and also uncle Stella’s father, her elder sister excluding Tony went back to theirs.
They leave around here.
Tony climbed up the stairs with his luggage and I trailed behind.
I hope he’s not trying to stay in my room.
He opened the door which lead to my room and I arched my brows.
What the hell!
There’s another room. Why mine?
“Hey! Do you realize you’re in my room? There’s another room, you can go there” I stated but he was deaf.
Am still gentle now.
“It looks like you can’t hear what am saying. I said……” He cut me in.
“Yeah, I f*cking know this is your room, and am f*cking staying here.Get that!” He yelled which made me flinch.
What?! Wait, he spoke English not long ago. In fact just now.
“So you knew how to speak English and you’re here pretending you don’t?”
“No, I don’t. I speak little English. Am not fan of English” He replied in a robot voice.
I can see he’s not a fan of English. *Am not fan of English* I chuckled.
“Oh I see, as I was saying, you want to stay here and it impossible.” I said again.
“Am staying. Go to a room. Another one” He replied and jumped on my bed.
I w¡dened my eyes and clenched my fist. Am not ready to argue.
I took the duvet from the bed and the pillows too and walk out of the room.
I opened the door to another room and entered. It looks big though but not like that one, the fool is sleeping on.
I dropped the duvet on the bed, which has another duvet again but I don’t mind.
I dropped the pillows too. I came out and locked the door with its key and made my way downstairs.
I got to the kitchen and met Aunt Stella cooking some beans. I smirked at the aroma coming out.
We settled down to eat our lunch. At night, we ate our dinner and everyone made their way to his/her room.
I got to my new room and lay on the bed to sleep. I was about closing my eyes when I saw the door creakily open.
The devil in human form came in. Tony.
“What do you want? I guess you have your own room” I asked.
“I do. Cold is much. Am feeling on comfortable on the bed without the pillows.” He said and before I could blink my eyes, he landed on bed beside me.
Huh?
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“Trying to sleep. Good night. I hate been alone.” He closed his eyes afterwards.
I could hear him snore. That irritates me. I didn’t know when my landed my leg…on his…D*ck.
“What?! My d*ck! Why did you do that?” He half yelled, standing up immediately.
“To your room” I ordered.
“Then the pillows and duvet?” He was still gro-ning.
Holding his d*ck, he collected them and muttered something.
“You’re so mean”
I scoffed.
“You’ve not seen anything yet. I will still cut that wire in between your legs” I mumbled and lay on my bed to sleep.

I woke up gro-ning as I stretch out my body. I wish I could sleep more but no. I have to go to work.
I jumped out of the bed and walk to the bathroom to take my bath and get ready for work.
I wore a lilac shirt and white trouser. I combed my hair, grab my car keys and phone then walk out of the room.
Smilingly, I greeted my uncle who was in the living and aunt Stella who also was just coming from the kitchen.
Is like that dumb ass is still sleeping.
I opened the fridge and saw the soup my mom made for me. Once am through with today’s work, I will ask Mimi to take me to the market so I can get Foo-foo for my soup.
Yummy.
I ate breakfast and ran out of the house. The journey was smooth and I got to the hospital on time.
The first person I have been praying never to see is doctor Nelson.
He was walking towards me with a straight face. He stood in front of me and smiled at me wirily.
“Good morning, Enita” He greeted.
“Good morning, you must have missed us right? Don’t worry, I brought you soup from my community, made by my mom. Should I bring it?” I replied.
“No, I don’t need it. I just stop yo greet you. And welcome back to the hospital again. Patient in ward 9 needs medical attention. Attend to her.” He answered and left.
I scoffed and dip my hands into my front pocket and move on.
I wore my Lab cloth and stethoscope, I used the landline and asked for two nurses needed.

After attending to the old woman in the ward, I came out and met Sir McDonald. He stopped when he saw me.
“Enita! You’re back! How’s Nigeria? And the wedding stuff?” He asked.
“It went well sir, my uncle’s wedding is in two months time. Am sure, he will invite you soon”
“Oh yes, he dare not invite me” He chuckled.
He turned to leave with three nurses and a doctor trailing behind him.
I dismissed the two nurses who came with me and went to Mimi’s office.
“Hey! How’s work?” She beamed, hugging me.
“Fine sugar, yours?”
“Same, let’s go out for lunch later. Have missed you.” She giggled.
“Same too.”

Finally, we went for lunch and it was the best. Enita and his rom-ntic stuff.
I could see the way doctor Nelson has been behaving. But he shouldn’t be jealous anymore.
He’s going to find his own Mrs right.
I love Enita and I will forever love him.
Actually, I didn’t bring my own car so, we had to use his car.
He drop me off and went his own way. I giggled at every thought of him.

I stayed outside the brown big gate, waiting for Rose to come out. I adjusted my polo shirt and rubbed my face clean for the fifth time.
We are just gonna take a walk, talk about things and go back home.
I haven’t ask her out yet. We just confess out feelings but haven’t start dating.
I can’t wait for her to be my girlfriend.
Soon, she came out with a blue gown and a black sandal. She smirked and hugged me.
“You’re choking me, Rose” I said, breathlessly.
“Oops, am sorry. Am just too happy to see you” She finally released me.
“Okay let’s go, so we can come back early” I answered and held her hand, leading the way.

We were talking, talking and talking till we finally reached a place where I turned to her suddenly and stared into her lovely brown eyes.
“Be my girlfriend Rose.” I said sharply.
I could see how her eyes nearly popped out of its socket.
She’s shocked.
She smiled and answered. “Brume, I’d like to be your girlfriend.”
Awwn. Am In cloud nine.
Am flying with the angels of God.
“Really? I promise to be the best boyfriend ever” I promised.
“That’s okay, my cheeks are hurting me. Am blushing too much” Said Rose, covering her cheeks with both palms.
I sighed and raised her face up to mine and placed a quick k-ss on her l-ips.
Another blushing again. She loves blushing.
She’s cute anyway.

Enita’s pov
One month gone, and it was time to prepare for the traditional wedding. My uncle’s wedding.
I can’t wait to propose to Mimi, so we can get married and our own kids. She’s gonna be mine forever.
I received my first salary whicwas huge. When I say huge, I mean H.U.G.E. Big money.
I’d safe for my family, especially my mother who I had promised one day, am gonna open a big restaurant for her.
Have always dreamt of taking care of my parents and brother. And thats coming true already.
Even when am married, sure thing, I will still take care of them. I will never let them labor in vain.
We got into the plane and it took off in no time.
In the next two days, the traditional wedding will come up. Only God knows how aunt Stella is going to look in her attire.
We got to Warri again, happy mom, dad and brother came out to welcome us.
I was careful so I won’t pour another soup away. Luckily, I didn’t.

The Traditional Wedding💞💝💍…..
Everyone dressed in their beautiful attires. I was wearing a Blue long sleeve, and tied a George wrapper on my wa-ist, wore a hat and a feather stuck to it.
The men did the same, the same colour except for my uncle, wearing a white long sleeve with Gold wrapper.
The bride was called out, dressed in silver wrapper and beads wore on her body. Both her hair too.
Ahh! Am getting jealous. Let me go and quickly marry.
