Abigail broke down into tears after narrating the last part while frank hold her.

“It was a bad day for me, we have planned about how our future will be…..

“Did Kingsley die?” Favour asked all of a sudden while she sighed and stand up, moving around the sitting room before sitting down back.

“Let me tell you how it goes…..

Flashback( Authoress pov)

Kingsley smiled and closed his eyes while Abigail burst into loud tears.

“Please be fast” she shouted at the driver while her mum hold her.

They arrived at the hospital and he was rushed to the emergency ward while Abigail keep jumping up.

“My wife take it easy! Don’t hurt the baby in your womb”. Kingsley mum adviced while she keep on crying.

“Nothing will happen to him by God grace. Have faith” Abigail mum consoled.

The doctor came out of the ward.

“Please who is Abigail?” He asked

“It’s me” she replied and jumped up.

“He wants to see you” he said while Abigail rushed into the ward.

She entered the ward and see Kingsley weak eyes open. Different tube was connected to his system while tears roll down his face.

“My love” she said moving closer to the bed and hold his hand.

“Ab…Abigail….I a..m so…rry th…at this is coming so soon. I don’t think that I can make it”.

“Don’t say that! You will make it. What about the promises you made to my child and i. How would you think of leaving us behind. Don’t say that again”. She replied calmly while he nod his head.

“I love you dear! Please take care of my child”. He said

“We will both take care of the child please don’t leave me. Don’t you dare leave me. Kingsley please!!!! She pleaded while he started gasping. She rushed out to call the doctor. They tried all their best to stabilize his condition but he gave up.

Kingsley parents and Abigail mum rushed in,side while Abigail move closer to the doctor.

“Wake him up naw!!!! She shouted at the doctor.

“I am sorry ma and sir’s we…..we lost him”. He announced while Abigail move closer to him and touched his cold face.

“Is it true? Are you leaving me so soon?” She asked while her mum held her back.

“Mum! Let him talk to me. I want to be sure of what the doctor said.

Kingsley parents cried out while she looked into their face.

“He is dead right! She asked and look around before she fainted.

She was taken to the other ward for treatment while her mum stayed with her. Kingsley body was withdrawn from the hospital and taken home……

Silver was seen sitting on a plastic chair with a cigarette in his hand. He glanced around the house and laughed out hærd.

“He think that he can escape from everything after k!lling leopard. If not for my informant. I wouldn’t know that my brother corpse is in his girlfriend house. But wait! I made a mistake! I supposed to have k!ll his girlfriend too. They both don’t deserve to live. I will try my luck once again ” he said and gulped down the beer beside his chair.

Kennedy and Alex are aware of Kingsley death.it shocked them to the marrow. Who could have K!ll Kingsley? They asked among themselves. They decided to travel out Cox of the fear of them getting k!lled.

It is two days already after kingsley death and Abigail is yet to open her eyes. Her mum is so worried about this and keep on praying to God to wake her daughter up. Ayomide also visited her and keep on praying for her.They both left the ward to get her something…..

Silver entered the ward with his gun. He hide himself well from the CCTV camera and aimed at Abigail chest. He was about to pull the trigger when someone hit his head with the bottom of his gun. He fell to the group and slumped. It is the policemen. Kingsley parents has reported to their office and they promised to fish out the person who k!lled him. They are monitoring Abigail too all this while . One of them will disguise by wearing a doctor cloth and checked on her. With this they achieved their aim and silver was taken into the vehicle.

After two more days in the hospital
Abigail opened her eyes and found herself on the bed. Her mum jumped up.

“Thank God you are awake! She exclaimed while Abigail sit upright.

“How did I get here? Where is Kingsley?”she asked while Ayomide reply

“Kingsley is at home . He will soon be here”.

“Are you sure?”

“I am sure now”.

“Because during the time that I sleep. I see him in my dream. We were k-ssing and touching each other”.

“Ewww!!! Her mum exclaimed.

“Don’t worry! He is at home. You will have the time to cuddle and touch each other very well. He will soon be here”. Ayomide lied while she smile….

She was later discharged and adviced not to think.

“Ma! Please you are the one I am telling this! Don’t let her know about her husband death yet. And don’t let her think because of her condition. It is risky please! The doctor pleaded while her mum assured him.

Getting back to Abigail mum house
She entered the house and sit down.

“Mum! Why am I here? I supposed to be in my husband house by now! Where is Kingsley? How would he leave me there all alone without checking on me? I missed him” she said frowning while her mum move closer to her.

“My daughter! He travelled to a state and will soon be here that is why he is not around”. Her mum replied

“What will you like to eat?”

“I won’t eat anything ooo until I see Kingsley”

“Please eat for your child sake. Pity the innocent baby”

“Alright I want indomie and tea with egg” she replied while her mum went in to prepare it. She eat and sleep off.

After a week
Abigail suspected that her mum is lieing to her. She watched when her mum goes to the market and sneakily get outside the house. She board a cab to Kingsley parents house. She went into the building and met large crowd of people standing before his picture while the pastor is preaching to them. It now dawned on her that Kingsley is dead. She scre-med which attracted people attention and she fainted.

She was rushed to the hospital and had miscarriage. This pained everyone. She wake up after two days and cry bitterly.

She was discharged back and keep on crying,she lost two things at the same time. She lost her love and beloved child. She will touch her Belly every time knowing fully well that her child is no more. She will hold Kingsley picture anytime and cried out whenever she remember any memories of them……

After five months. Abigail went back to school. She has carry over from the months she missed in school which added an extra year. She struggled to concentrate on the last year in her institution. She hærdly speak with people and always mind her ways…..

She graduated from the institution and went for her service. She know frank through her service and they both decided to gt married….

But the problem now is the issue of her childbirth…..

Epilogue of “what I did in the past”

“That is how it all happened” she narrated while Frank patted her back.

She wiped out her tears with the gown she is wearing and gazed up.

“You have really gone through alot in this Earth! I didn’t have the idea that you passed through all that….you don’t have to cry anymore. The Lord has answered your prayers. You have confessed already”. Frank said comforting her while she gazed down back and shake her head. Favour didn’t know what to say than to kneel down in front of Abigail.
“Ma! I am not ready to turn your house upside down after hearing all this. I will gladly move on with my life after delivery frank baby. You are an hero! And I prayed that the Lord will continue to guide and protect you. Very soon! You will carry your child in your womb”.

“Amen! They all chorused while they all chatted and sleep off.

For the first time ever

She stopped dreaming about the old woman

“I really wish he can forgive me for my past deeds……

“I am the only survivor left in black confraternity”.

“I have done grievous things in the past including my ex fiancee….may the Lord forgive us all….

“Be careful of whatever thing you are doing today! Don’t be too pressured to join any unwanted group”

“Say no to cultism” she said while she sighed and fold her arms around her chest.

“I can now have a child of my own!!! She muttered to herself and sit down.
