Chapter 108 :- Bloody Retaliation (contd)

Sometimes, there are moments in life when one gets a sudden negative feeling like a strong intuition that something bad is about to happen. As a witch that manipulates nature, I don’t necessarily need premonitions to feel that way. Since I’m one with nature, I get strong feedback in my head that makes me feel like my brain cells are on fire.
Touring through, across and beyond the depths of the sea with Esther has been extremely fun and I couldn’t ask for a better day to explore but despite being far away from my natural habitat, I’ve been having bad vibes since Esther brought me to new world. I know I should be having fun considering what I’ve been through in the past few days but I can’t ignore the ominous feelings I’ve been getting.

Presently, here I was with Esther sitting in some tavern owned by some Incubus. I couldn’t believe that they actually existed, I used to hear stories about them from my late grandma Wuroala and she told me about the flings she used to have with some of them in her youth. Turns out, most of the things she said about the incubus was true, they were sure good looking beyond but that could not be said for character.
Both Succubus/incubus are known to be evil beings who incite sexual arousal on their victims so as to terrorize them. I’ve heard humans having wet dreams with lovely creatures in their sleep but what they don’t realize is that they’re being cursed or doomed for a for more tragic fate. It’s a good thing that that this beings are rare on the surface cause if they were to show themselves, there’s no telling what kind of damage they might cause.
In that moment as I was busy brooding over the ominous feeling I was getting, Esther noticed my mood and began to inquire.

Esther ➡ Christy, you don’t look like you’re having fun? What’s wrong?
.

Christen ➡ I don’t know. Ever since we came here, I’ve been having bad vibes. If you don’t mind I’d like to go back to Riley now.
.

Esther ➡ By the sea gods, why are you so clingy?
.

Christen ➡ Clingy? I’m just worried about my husband. Is that a bad thing?
.

Esther ➡ Come on, enjoy yourself before we leave.
.

Christen ➡ I’m afraid I can’t and besides. I’m pregnant and my taste buds have changed. Let’s get out of here.
.

Esther ➡ Okay, okay. Let’s go.
.

In that moment, Esther and I left the tavern and retraced our steps back to the very entrance that led us into this world. Honestly, I thought we were going to swim all the way back to Calabar but we soon met someone that gave us a shortcut.
Just as Esther and I had reached to the edges of the water, we saw that rainbow haired mermaid we met a couple of months back while we were on outing. She too had emerged from the water and from the look on her face, she was in a bit of a bad mood.
Suddenly, our eyes met and she stared at Esther and I suspiciously as if we had done something wrong. In that moment, Esther quickly bowed to her and urged me to do the same but I didn’t. Why should I bow to her anyways. After staring at Esther and I for some seconds, the mermaid approached us with a cold look in her eyes.

Zenti ➡ You both look familiar.
.

Esther ➡ Yes princess, we met at the coast of Calabar a few months back.
.

Zenti ➡ Now I remember and you, I met a human who has your smell and now you have his.
.

Christen ➡ Riley! Where is he?
.

Zenti ➡ He’s alive. For now.
.

Christen ➡ What do you mean?
.

Zenti ➡ You don’t know what’s happening do you? There has been an attack. All over the surface. It’s a massacre.
.

Christen ➡ What about Riley? Where did you last see him?
.

Zenti ➡ The last I saw him, he was carrying a human lady to safety. It’s not safe out there.
.

Christen ➡ You’re powerful aren’t you? Why aren’t you doing anything?
.

Esther ➡ Christen!
.

Christen ➡ Leave me jor.
.

Zenti ➡ If it weren’t for me, your husband would have been torn in shreds by demons. You need to get going now.
.

Christen ➡ But it’s a little bit far from here to Calabar. Isn’t there a shorter route?
.

Zenti ➡ I can help with that.
.

In that moment, the princess mermaid stretched her hand towards the water and began to manipulate it. The water began to rotate slowly at first but eventually, it got so fast that it created a massive vortex. The pressure was so strong that i could feel it even where I was standing, the rotation of the water alone could tear anyone apart if they try to resist it. After making the rotation, the mermaid princess stared at us with a gay smile that made me have seconds thoughts about what she said but before I could even have time to contemplate what I have on my mind, Esther instantly jumped into the vortex and urged me to join her. I stared at the princess mermaid suspiciously for some seconds before I too followed Esther into the vortex.
Just as I expected, the vortex was very strong that my body fell numb and it pulled me into the sea like a vacuum machine. I couldn’t see what was going on cause I had to close my eyes but within a matter of seconds, I found myself floating inside a different kind of water. In that moment, I opened by eyes to see where I was but before I could figure out where I was, Esther appeared out of nowhere, grabbed my hand and swam straight to the surface with me. I was surprised to see that I was back in Calabar and in the beach where I left Riley. Esther and I swam to shore and realized there was no soul in sight but the screams of the people echoed in the atmosphere.

Esther ➡ This isn’t good.
.

Christen ➡ Come on, we need to get to your son and find Riley.
.

Esther ➡ Akpan will be fine.
.

Christen ➡ Still, you need to check on him. You mermaids are unbelievable.
.

Esther ➡ Chill jare. You go find your husband and I’ll be heading home.
.

Christen ➡ Okay. See you later.

🌹 EBINOLUWA 🌹

The sun quickly disappeared from the sky after Rotimi and I paired up with Uncle Oliver. Despite teaching Xeira and that succubus a lesson, the chaos still didn’t cease and it kept getting worst. The night of horrors that occured some few months back was nothing compared to this. Even though Evlyn was not in sight, her followers were making a mess of things and if care is not taken, they might cease control of Ibadan.
Moments after Uncle Oliver paired with Rotimi and Ebinoluwa, the 3 of us ended up in Aunt Rose’s house so as to figure out a way to retaliate against Evlyn’s followers. I was hoping that Aunt Rose must have already her move considering the severity of the situation but I was wrong. Immediately we stepped into her house, Aunt Rose was busy getting the royal treatment from her shadow minions.

Ebinoluwa ➡ What’s going on here?
.

Oliver ➡ Sis, we have a problem.
.

Rose ➡ I know. I’m not deaf or blind.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Aren’t you going to do anything? There are people out there dying.
.

Immediately I said that, a vicious laughter escaped my Aunt’s mouth. She laughed so hard that tears were dropping from her eyes. What came next shocked me to the core.

Rose ➡ Since when do I care about people?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ What?
.

Rose ➡ Nancy. Come and here this.
.

Nancy ➡ What is it?
.

Rose ➡ This niece here says people are dying.
.

The same laughter escaped the mouth of Aunt Rose’s bestie. She had to sit down so that she wouldn’t fall on the ground. I was mad with rage that I wanted to lash out at them but I decided to keep my cool.

Ebinoluwa ➡ What’s so funny about this?
.

Rose ➡ Listen Ebi, just because I married a human doesn’t mean I care about all. Apart from your Uncle and your dad, the rest are just meat bags.
.

Nancy ➡ Or better yet worms.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ But Evlyn’s followers are…
.

Rose ➡ Evlyn is not here. Only her followers.

Ebinoluwa ➡ So you’re not going to do anything about it?

Rose ➡ I was but I changed my mind.

Ebinoluwa ➡ What if they take control of Ibadan then what?

Rose ➡ Take control? They can’t.

Ebinoluwa ➡ What makes you so sure they can’t? We just saw Xeira and some succubus and if they two keep moving around, they’ll burn this city to the ground.

Rose ➡ So why are you here and not out there? You’re the infinite witch aren’t you? Why don’t you handle it?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ As a matter of fact I will. Let’s go Rotimi.
.

Aunt Rose may be family but she’s no different from Evlyn. To even think that she could change into a better being is a just a dream. She’s evil and nasty to the bone and it’s even a wonder that I can tolerate her. Maybe it’s high time I realize that some things can never be changed. The idea of witches/wizards putting other’s needs before theirs is just a fantasy. Perhaps it’s a good thing that mom and dad met years ago and bonded. Only God knows what I would have turned out to be if I was fathered by a wizard instead of a human.
After leaving Aunt Rose’s house, Rotimi and I took to the skies and began to see what was going on in Ibadan, it was like a scene from purgatory. What bothered me was the endless panic and destruction on the streets, people couldn’t see what was really happening around them.

Ebinoluwa ➡ This is bad. We have to help this people.
.

Rotimi ➡ I’m not letting you go out there alone. Infinite witch or not, those demons will tear you apart. Their numbers are too great.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I’m not going to stand here and watch. (teleports)

Rotimi ➡ EBINOLUWA!
.

I know Rotimi was looking out for me but I just can’t stand by and do nothing. Ibadan is my city and I refuse to believe that it’s beyond saving. After detaching myself loose from Rotimi, I scouted the city to see what I could do prevent this calamity.
In that moment, I spotted the succubus I fought with moments ago toying with a large number of young guys. They followed her like hypnotically like ants as she walked ahead of them leading them into a burning building. Without hesitation, I intercepted her devious plan by extinguishing the flames.

Azrel ➡ My, my, my.. We meet again.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ This ends tonight.
.

Azrel ➡ (chuckles) You’re right, this ends tonight.

🌹 AZREL 🌹

Witches! they have always been so troublesome and hard to deal with especially the powerful ones. Being the only one of my kind to be out here walking free is a great fortune. Freedom is everything and I cannot afford to lose it but as it is right now, this half breed bitch poses a threat to my freedom and I cannot afford to let her live.

Seeing the way she dropped in on me, I knew she was here to pick up from where we left off and I for one couldn’t be more happier about this. This right here is a golden opportunity for me to end this cocky bitch once and for all. In that moment, I transformed into my real form and charged straight at Ebinoluwa trying to dice her in half but to my surprise, something unexpected happened.
I was pretty certain that I had hit her but what I couldn’t understand was how I got hit instead of her. Being inflicted by her own attack was not as painful as watching the proud witch smiling defiantly at my face. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so mad at anyone.

Azrel ➡ What did you do?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I just gave you a taste of your medicine. Like I said earlier, this ends tonight.
.

In that moment, Ebinoluwa merged her fingers creating some sort of triangle and as soon as she did that, some markings emerged on the right side of her whole body. Suddenly out of nowhere, Oba appeared behind Ebinoluwa trying to take her out but before he could do that, she disappeared leaving us both in a state of shock. Shortly after that, Xeira appeared at the scene as well looking drenched in blood.

Azrel ➡ How did you let her get away from you?
.

Oba ➡ Don’t yell at me succubus!
.

Xeira ➡ Who got away?
.

Azrel ➡ The girl with all gifts.
.

Xeira. ➡ EBINOLUWA!!!
.

Oba ➡ I will get her next time. My bastard son is fond of her. Hurting her will crush his very soul.
.

Azrel ➡ WAIT! That half breed bastard is your son? It’s a shame he chose the wrong side. I’ll kill him the next time I see him.
.

Oba ➡ Do as you wish.
.

Xeira ➡ Whatever you do, don’t touch Ebinoluwa. Remember what Evlyn said.
.

Oba ➡ I don’t see why Evlyn is interested in her. She’s nothing.
.

Xeira ➡ QUIET!!
.

Azrel ➡ What is it, love? Is something wrong?
.

Xeira ➡ Shut up and listen.
.

After keeping our mouths shut, Oba and I realized that the cries of panic and screams were beginning the cease and another thing that shocked us was the sudden cries of pain that arose once again but this time it wasn’t the humans that were making this sound.
.

Azrel ➡ I don’t like this. What’s going on?
.

Xeira ➡ It’s Ebinoluwa! She must be behind this.
.

Oba ➡ Let’s spread out. She must be stopped.
.

Suddenly in that moment as Oba stepped out of the shadows, the moon rays that shone upon his body began to burn him. It was then we realized what was going on. The moonlight rays was death sentence, the darkness which we thrived in was now turned against us. The only to survive was too stay in the shadows or so we thought.
After Oba retreated back into the shadows, the 3 of us thought that we’d be safe in it but that wasn’t the case.
In that moment, Wraiths emerged from the shadows and began to assault us. Unlike the Altros who take away souls back to the afterlife, Wraiths feed on these souls to survive and the worst thing is they feed on anyone. Filled with rage, Oba scattered the wraiths giving Xeira the opportunity to create a vortex from a nearby busted water tank which allowed us all to escape. Within a matter of seconds, we found ourselves in the cold icy waters of Antarctica.

Azrel ➡ Of all the waters in the world, you had to bring us here.
.

Xeira ➡ Quit complaining you delectable bitch! Out here we’re safe. It’s day time but the skies cloudy. Ebinoluwa’s spell will not reach us here.
.

Azrel ➡ That bitch is powerful. She needs to die before she gets any stronger.
.

Xeira ➡ I know. We have to let Evlyn know about this but in the meantime our task is complete. All we have to do now is lay low.

😈 Writer’s POV 😈

As the struggle intensifies between the two infinite witches, Satan watches from the comfort of his territory enjoying every moment of it. Ever since this struggle began, the lord of darkness has been enjoying the way how things have been going.
Mephistoph who had also been watching what was going on felt angry about Satan letting Evlyn do what she wanted but little did he realize that the lord of darkness was up to something.

Satan ➡ (laughs) Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. That Evlyn has surely proven herself. She’s making my work a lot more easier.
.

Mephistoph ➡ I cannot believe you’re letting that whore run loose like this. Giving her some of your powers was a dumb move. What if she turns against us?
.

Satan ➡ Are you afraid of her?
.

Mephistoph ➡ No. She’s no match for me.
.

Satan ➡ Don’t take it too hard, Mephistoph. Evlyn is merely just a tool. Did you honestly think that I’d help her out for free?
.

Mephistoph ➡ What are you planning?
.

Satan ➡ I just want to see the world burn and wither with endless chaos. Evlyn is pushing things to the limit and its only a matter of time before things get out of hand.
.

Mephistoph ➡ That Ebinoluwa is certainly getting stronger.
.

Satan ➡ (chuckles) I know but she’s not yet that strong to stop Evlyn. Her soul is pure and I don’t want that. I want to be broken so that she’ll eventually give into the dark.
.

Mephistoph ➡ You want her to surrender to the dark?
.

Satan ➡ Of course. Ebinoluwa is stronger than Evlyn. All she has to do is embrace her dark side.
.

Mephistoph ➡ You’re a snake Satan. You better know what you’re doing. Just remember that you can’t always have everything.
.

Satan ➡ Oh but I can. Do you remember what I told the Almighty before he threw me out of the heavens and damned me for eternity? Haven’t I managed to pull that off?
.

Mephistoph ➡ I do but remember. You’ll be the one on the losing side when the end of the world comes.
.

Satan ➡ At least, I won’t be alone in purgatory (laughs).
.
