A LONG WALK TO NOTHING Episode 17 & 18
“Good Morning” Alexia waves in Liam’s face as she enters his office
“Hey! You’re early today” he sits up right
“I had to, I was turning left and right in my bed the wh0le night and couldn’t sleep a wink so I needed to escape my home early today” she says sitting down
“Do you have whisky in here?” She asks leaving Liam confused
“You guys had a fight again I bet”
“You bet right……we finally had the last one probably”
“I’m sorry”
“It’s not your fault….I don’t want to talk about it….but I do want to talk about something”
“Let me guess…Cecilia and the k-ss”
“So it’s all true” she asks
“Relax…..I’m going to tell you something, I don’t know if I should say it but I can’t leave this out and talk about Cecilia and the k-ss”
“Now I’m more confused”
“I can only imagine…….it all started the other day, I had gone out to do some shopping at capital shoppers”
“That’s where we normally shop”
“I know because I met your husband there”
“Donald? How did you, you don’t even know him”
“Yeah, I never knew him till I met him that day, I was done with my shopping and on my way out when I realised the car that packed on my way couldn’t move, I was trying to find out why it wasn’t moving and that’s when I met him” he posses without continuing
“And then what?…. Is that all”
“Listen….have you ever for once thought about your husband’s latest behavior I mean from a different perspective”
“Yeah but his reason was clear according to him he got bored, it has everything to do with me” now Liam leaves his seat and walks to Alexia, he sits on the table and holds her hands
“I asked you this the other time but you downplayed it”
“What’s that”
“Don’t you think Donald your husband may have another woman in his life aside you” she ponders to think, she remembers calling her husband last evening and a woman speaking in the background
“Answer me” Liam brings her mind to present
“Well last night, I called him up and I heard a woman speaking”
“And”
“And nothing, I confronted him about it and we had a fight”
“That’s why you couldn’t sleep”
“I wont deny it”
“OK….I …”
“Wait! What has this got to do with everything, we were talking about Cecilia and the k-ss”
“I know and I’m getting there but if it would please you to know…..I met Cecilia the day a Lady named Isabel who happens to be your son’s Friend brought her here that was before you finally started coming, she and I started on a good note but not really as friends, I wasn’t looking for one at least not in her….few days later she showed up at my door very early in the morning without any invitation and that’s when I realised I couldn’t make her a friend”
“But you k-ssed her”
“Would you just let me finish please?”
“OK I’m sorry but it’s just that you’re confusing me”
“Well I’m not going to deny k-ssing her, I did, I k-ssed her yes but I realised I made a stupid move with that action”
“So you really like her”
“No….I don’t, I don’t like her as a Friend or even as a lover”
“Well the last time I checked it looked like she was the one who didn’t want all that”
“So she told that….hmm I’m not surprised at all that ski-ny woman is a snitch….she’s a snake, she’s not your Friend but your husband’s lover” he drops the bomb on Alexia and she looks shocked as he looks stunned he just said that but he can’t take the word back
“What……what did you just say?” He lowers his voice this time as he answers her
“Well I’m sorry to drop the bomb on you like this, I didn’t plan on doing this but I just can’t hold it, you’re my friend, you deserve to know”
“Wait….Cecilia and Don? OK I might not be surprised about my husband having another woman at this point but naming Cecilia as the woman is totally out of it…..it’s not possible Donald doesn’t even like her”
“Are you sure he doesn’t really like her or he’s just putting up an appearance” Alexia stops to think again, all her crazy moments with her best friend of five years and her husband who doesn’t even stand her sight, she shakes her head and stands up, Liam stands up too
“It was nothing but a façade”
“Are you saying they have been dating all these five years”
“Well I can’t say it, it’s either they were lovers before five years ago….I mean what explanation did your husband even give you for disapproving that friendsh¡p”
“He said he didn’t like her…”
“He was with her that time I finally met him, I came down from my car to knock on the window of the car that was blocking my way when the people in it couldn’t stop k-ssing…. I was not surprised when I saw Cecilia k-ssing a man but I froze when the man in question introduced himself I’m sorry but it’s the Truth, Cecilia is sleeping with Donald your husband” Alexia wants to talk but she feels a lump forming in her throat, she tries to smile but it’s not working too her tear falls down her soft cheek and Liam cleans it
“Liam please tell me you’re just pulling my legs, Cecilia is my Friend, she’s supposed to have my back, she has always done that” she’s panicking now
“Please Ale calm down, I understand how you feel but you can’t put your hands in fire to protect that ski-ny witch”
“No I know why you’re saying this, this is just because she told you off, because she rejected you”
“No woman rejects me….I’m not bragging but it’s the truth but the difference is I don’t want a woman in my life, if I want to get one it can’t be Cecilia, but this isn’t about me it’s about her stubbing you in the back and turn around to take your man” her tears continue
“Why is it that I find it so hærd to believe this, why would she and my husband do this to me why? I don’t understand”
“I’m sorry” he says and the next thing, she’s on his shoulders weeping loudly, he letss her soak his shirt with her fresh hot early morning tears and when she’s calmed a bit, he makes her sit down but she continues to sob
“I’m just an idiot…a big fool” she’s trying to smile as she says this
“A very big fool”
“No no no don’t say that, I don’t agree with you, you’re not an idiot neither are you a fool”
“Do you even know the most interesting part, they must be mocking me now”
“Why would you even care how they think about you now, isn’t it enough they have done this to you, move on and prove to them you can do it, Donald is not worth any of these tears you’re shading if you ask me”
“He’s the father of my children”
“I never said he’s not but he’s the first one to forget that….so move on and don’t feel bad about it, don’t blame yourself”
“Move on? Did you just say move on?” She asks with her voice raised high and quacking
“Calm down, you’re getting yourself all worked up for no reason….moving on is not about not loving someone anymore and forgetting them, it’s about having the strength to say I still love you but you’re not worth my pain…that’s what I mean”
“But it’s all my fault…Thais damn body this fat…this….” She’s hitting herself in pain and he holds her still
“Hey hey!!! look up that’s enough… Stop it” he raises her chin high and their eyes lock
“You can’t be saying these things, this damn body you’re cursing has given that ungrateful nigga you call your husband two beautiful and healthy perfect children he’s going to call his forever, even if he’s no more they are his legacy…so if he doesn’t love you anymore in your body well that’s his problem and let him deal with it because you don’t have to be ski-ny to be s€×y or beautiful….beauty is the size of the heart not the size of your jeans….you’re amazing and beautiful just the way you’re” she goes in for another comfort hug with tears as he rubs her back slowly….after a while, she gets away from him and rubs her eyes. She sighs and stands up grabbing her bag
“I need to go” she says
“Where are you going please relax, I don’t want you doing something stupid that you’ll regret Alexia”
“Don’t worry, I’m very fine” she smiles again and walks out….Liam looks at her all confused because he’s not understanding her reaction, he then picks his phone and dials a number, after a while the person picks up
“Hello”
“Eddy listen, please find time and come home your mother needs you right now”
“So she already knows” he asks and Liam for a moment is confused
“Know what?”
“About my Dad and Cecilia”
“So you also know?”
“Yeah, I found out the other day and I didn’t actually know how to tell Mum that’s why I have not been coming at yours but how did she even find out?”
“I did…. I told her, I found out too and couldn’t keep quiet about it….the guilt was going to eat me up seeing her so hurt and I knew”
“Thank you… I’ll be with her”
“Please do so, she just left here a while ago”
“How is she”
“Shuttered….just trying to appear strong and brave”
“Poor Mummy… I’ll just come right away”
“Please do so”
“But do you have an idea where she’s headed to right now because I know she’s not going home”
“I thought about it too……”
“She’s either going to dad’s office or Cecilia’s home”…..to be continued
A LONG WALK TO NOTHING Episode 18
Today is a very exciting morning for Cecilia who is doing general cleanliness in her apartment. Even though she’s a celebrity and a real slay, her privacy is what counts most for her because the last thing she wants is to have her private life broadcasted out there, for that one reason she really has no friends and she needs no domestic worker in her house. she has no busy morning since she has been expelled from Liam’s fitness center…she had woken up and went out for her thirty minutes jogging, she came back and had her breakfast and now she’s cleaning the entire house….she’s not bothered by Liam’s words of yesterday because that’s not a problem for her, she has plans of paying him a visit later at home and have a talk with him, she’s not giving up on getting him fall for her as she keeps Donald too…..she’s going to have it all. As she goes about her work whistling and singing, she hears a knock at the door
“Coming” she says right away wondering who it could be this early morning but even after saying she’s coming, the knock still continues….she throws her wiper down and walks to the door, she first peeps to see who it is and she sees her friend, she smiles opening the door
“Alexia didn’t know you were coming” Alexia pushes past Cecilia and walks straight in,side
“Why that face?” Cecilia asks again but Alexia is just fuming
“For how Long have you been mocking me Cecilia huh!”
“Excuse me!”
“I said for how long have you and Donald been making a fool outof my kindness and naivety” she asks again this time coming towards Cecilia
“I don’t know what you’re talking about”
“Sure you do, you know damn well what I’m driving at, what and who do you take me for a fool? No I’m not one, I met you five years ago Cecilia, you looked harmless and innocent, your kindness and goodness was out of this world, you wanted to be my friend and I accepted and then what, you turned around and stub me from my back, no no no right in front of me at my heart….what have I ever done to you Cecilia what?”
“Hey hey! Don’t you dare raise your voice on me Alexia”
“And don’t you dare try tell me how to talk to you you pr-stitute” she doesn’t know how and where she got the courage and the confidence to say what she said but she just said it
“Did you just call me a pr-stitute Alexia?” She raises her hand to slap Alexia but she catches her arm mid air
“Don’t you dare try that with me, unless you want to loose a tooth you sneaky bitch, you have been sleeping with my husband and you still want to raise your filthy hand to smack my face with no shame…..are you going to deny that”
“Well I’m glad you know, let me guess you expected me to say no Hahaha Mrs Duckling I don’t give a shit, I’m actually glad you know now”
“How can you be sleeping with someone’s husband and you don’t feel any bit of shame?”
“Why should I, what for? For your sake? Hahaha don’t be such a drama Queen. It’s not my fault your husband finds you not appealing anymore….you think I was your friend, well hell no, I have never been and will never be your friend, you were only the lather I needed to climb to my goal”
“Which was my husband”
“I’m glad you know but please stop referring to Donald as your husband because he is not your husband, he doesn’t love you”
“Yes he doesn’t love me all thanks to you but guess what, at the end of the day, the specks in his eyes are gonna fall out and Donald is going to realize you’re nothing but a passing flame”
“Hahahahaha Ale Ale, I’ve always known it, you’re a fool so stupid and so clueless so now let me ask you something, when you and I met five years ago, did you even see your husband’s face when we bumped on each other at that mall? Well I had been stalking you for a while and that happened to be the convenient time for me to make a move, we instantly became friends and you opened wide the doors to your house thinking you met a friend but you just handed your dear precious husband to me on a platter…..I…” Cecilia is cut short by a loud slap across the face, before she could react Alexia gives her another one across the face again and the shouting now gets to hair grabbing and hair pulling……

Eddy jumps out of the taxi in front of his father’s office and makes his way in,side asking the driver to not move an inch but wait for him, he runs in,side and doesn’t bother greeting the people he meets on his way in,side, he gets to his father and opens the door right away
“Jeeeez! you scared the hell out of me Eddy”
“Where is Mum” he asks closing the door behind and resting his back on it as he fights to catch his breath
“Your Mum? Is she supposed to be here”
“Don’t act clueless Dad… Where is Mum”
“I don’t know, I haven’t seen her….wait….have you”
“You’re so pathetic Dad” he turns and grabs the door knob just as he’s about to open, he turns around
“If anything happens to Mum I swear you’ll eat her raw” he leaves in a huff as his father remains with his mouth wide open, he recollects himself after a while and grabs his phone from besides him and dials a number

“Let go of me….I said let go of me” a tiny Cecilia struggles to free herself from Alexia’s arms
“Let go of me you pig”
“No I’m going to show you what I’m made of you mosquito” some how Cecilia manages to get her head out when Alexia grabs her wig and now she’s free from her grip, both of them with torn shirts breathing heavily as they fix themselves
“I’m not done with you”
“Don’t blame me but yourself for not keeping fit and making your husband want to be with you but that’s not the point here, you want to fight me over my man…that’s the point”
“Excuse me!”
“Yes Alexia, Donald has always been my man and you took him away, twenty years ago Donald and I were so in love and then I travelled, he came for you and you’re just nothing but a consolation for him, I’m his one and only love and now he just wants me to be with him and I don’t care if you accept or not”
“That’s nonsense…. I don’t believe your story”
“I don’t care if you do of not that’s not the point, the point is that he now wants to be with the woman he has always loved…. Why do you think he has been giving me that attitude, well sit back and think ..no man can hate a woman for nothing” Alexia posses to think, Cecilia is actually right, Donald has never been happy every time her name is brought up in a conversation, when ever they were together they would always be at loggerheads…… This for a moment makes Alexia ponder and yet Cecilia continues
“Donald tried making this damn marriage of yours work but no, he couldn’t you know why, it’s because you…..because he doesn’t love you, he has never loved you and will never love you…he was going to crucify himself around you forever but I couldn’t let him do that”
“You’re a devil Cecilia…..you ski-ny little witch, why didn’t i see this coming my God!”…. Cecilia’s phone chooses this exact time to start ringing and she for a moment is destructed from the talk just starring at her phone
“Is it him?” Alexia asks coming closer but Cecilia doesn’t answer
“Pick it up…answer the call you shameless wh-re” they Begin to fight for the phone again but Cecilia this time has an upper hand and wins, she stuffs the phone in her p-nts so confidently
“If you think I’m just gonna step aside and let you have your way with my man you’re damn wrong” Alexia continues with the warning
“Who cares huh! I don’t need your approval or permission you clueless bitch, I know what I want and how to get it, I’m a go getter… It’s not my fault you’re fat and ugly that no one wants to be with you, not even your husband of twenty years”
“Oh really! How about I tell Donald about you trying to throw your ski-ny self on Liam too”
“Ooh so you actually want to talk about the men?….. I see you already had a little chat with Liam oh that boy!!! I don’t really care what he told you but guess what, I’m so gonna have them both besides, Donald is not even going to believe you when you say something about our little secret yet the truth remains, no man wants a fat ugly woman…I’m gonna have my two cakes and eat them you’ll see” Alexia who is almost bursting shakes her head not believing her ears and eyes, Cecilia is not even sorry for her reckless words
“And to think that I had considered you my friend, I’m just so mad at myself right now…..I’m so mad”
“You don’t have to be, I have never been your friend and I could never be…look at you, your class is no where near mine….Donald managed to be with you for twenty long years because of the children so don’t think we could have been friends, not in the life before not even in our next lives”
“Oh Cecilia I was once attractive and portable…. I had a great body too probably the best so you won’t break my esteem, not now….this body, this ugly body you want to call has given my husband two beautiful and healthy children but guess what I’m not going to let you a woman who has never spilled blood apart from the monthly cycle win and break my marriage I sacrificed so much for….”
“It doesn’t matter, Donald is going to ask for divorce anyways, I don’t need to spill blood too and besides not every woman has the same goals in life and marriage, I do want to get married but I don’t need to have children because you my Darling already did that job for me and I’m so grateful”
“You witch” Alexia gives her one last blow which she dodges this time around
“Just wait for your divorce papers to be served”
“Oh you’re even his spokesperson now? Well Miss Spokesperson, help me tell Donald that you and him will have to fight me down for the divorce….I won’t give him that freedom till My last blood drops”
“So be it” they have a stare down and Alexia has had enough
“You’re nothing Cecilia but a pretty little liar who has no effect on me but guess what” Alexia moves more closer to her leaning in her ears
“You can’t f-ck with karma cause she always comes back for you in the end” she walks out this time not looking back as Cecilia has her victory laughter alone giggling..
