“Mum, Why are you here?”I asked and move towards her.
“Question, Well I am here that’s it” Mum replied with a long hissed.
“I mean when did you come back from America, you didn’t inform me that you will be coming, “I asked mum still stunned at her august visit.
“You asked too numerous questions. Why would we notify you when you didn’t inform us about Evan. We find out in the news”Maddy my younger and only sister said coming in.
“Maddy, you also come with her?”I asked.
“As you can see, we are here for your marriage. Aren’t you happy” Maddy responded with an eye roll?
“Wedding! who told you am getting married. That’s false news” I said.
“Shut up, where are your manners. You raped her and she has your child so what are you saying.
You lied to me that she broke up with you but you are the one that did the wrong thing with her. I never expected this of you. I didn’t train you to be heartless”Mum charged at me.
“Mum do you believe I did that, trust me. Your son was framed. If was all her plan” I explained holding my mum’s shoulder.
“So did she not have your child? tell me”She wailed staring at me with so much fury on her face.
“Who are you? Don’t shout at my dad. If you want to hurt him then you will have to pass through me” Dan came to stand in front of me.
“Dan, she’s your Grandma. So don’t be mean. Now go in,side with aunt” I bent to his level.
He shook his head. “Clara Please take Dan in,side,” I said, and Clara did as I say.
“Mum do you think I would rape someone?. Do you doubt your upbringing?”I asked to see if she trust me.
She didn’t answer and walked towards Evan who pretend to be unhappy.
“Evan am very angry with you. Why don’t you come to tell me when this happened. You don’t even lemme know when you find out you are pregnant. I never believed my son can do such a terrible thing.
I thought he loves you. I never knew you leave him all because of this. Am sorry “Mum said holding her hand.
Evan starts to shed crocodile tears. “Am sorry ma, I don’t just want to disturb you.
But what could I have done when my son insisted that he want to meet his dad. When he finally meet him, he wanted to reject him but after the test, he confirmed that Dan is his son”Evan said crying.
I just stood speechless. She’s a real criminal. She’s finally got my mum on her side. But it’s disheartening that my mom didn’t believe me.
How could she believe an outsider over his son?
“Common my dear, am sorry. I am here now I will fix everything. Your marriage with him will happen soon and it will be an elaborate wedding. The talk of the town” Mum said and hugged her.
“Mum, what are you saying. Maddy can’t you speak to mum. What’s she doing?”I asked but she stood speechless.
I str-de angrily to my room. This is not going to happen.
I walked to the garden at the back of my room. I sat down on the spring deep in thought.
How did I get myself into this mess? Am always a man of my word. But my life was being controlled by a woman. I became useless to myself.
I should call Leo maybe we can hang out. I can’t stay here. I can’t just tolerate it when my own family thinks otherwise of me.
I check my pocket but couldn’t find my phone.
“Are you looking for this?”Maddy asked stretching my phone out to me.
“Yes thanks” I collected the phone. “Please you can leave, I need sometimes to rest, “I said trying to dial Leo’s number.
“You wanna rest, but I can sense you wanna call your friend Leo. You wanna hang out with him” She said and bend in front of me.

“I see, so you know what I do whenever am angry”. “That’s it I can’t stand you guys. I thought it was Evan who I was planning to get rid of, that is the only one on my neck” I huffed.
“But I was more heartbroken when my own family didn’t believe me. I am sure if It was dad. He will believe me even without uttering a word
I missed him. I don’t know why he leaves us this early. Death is awful “I try to control myself from Crying.
“Do you also think I don’t believe you? I trust you brother. I have been trying to convince mum but she thinks it was true.

Then I will search for the love of my life. The one who always makes me smile no matter how sad I am”I said touching her face.
“Search, who are you talking about?”She asked looking into my eyes.
“My mysterious lady” I replied “Do you mean Anonymous?”She asked.

“For how long will you guys keep me here. My sister can’t marry that fool. So just free me” Dason yelled at the guard who was asked to stay with him.
“Why are you so stubborn. Your stubbornness won’t save you. You can’t do anything.
If you try anything funny my boss will kill you and dispose of your body”The guard said.
“You think am scared of you. Scared you think. Am not even scared to die, even if am losing the last drop of blood to save my sister. She deserves to be happy.
And this your boss will not give her anything than pain.”Dason yelled trying to release himself.
“Even if you try to release yourself, am sure you can’t do that. Because that’s not a tiny rope. Is a rope used to tied stubborn people?
You seem to care more about your sister. That’s why you lied to me and also collect my money” The guards said and walked closer to him with so much anger written on his face.
“Are you planning to choke me now? What’s bad if you lied to save someone very important to your life.
My sister is the most important person in my life after we lose our parents. She is my mother, father. She’s everything.
So, to hell with you, money”Dason wailed.
The guard stop. “I thought you will be scared, but you are so determined. Which means your sister is very special to you” He said and sit on a chair close to Dason’s chair.
“Yes she’s very special”, Dason said and start to sing. The guard was so emotionally moved with his song.
He glares at him till he stops singing.
“Common don’t stop. This is so emotional. You make me remember my mum”The guard said with tears in his eyes.
“That’s my sister for you, that’s the song she always sings for me whenever I can’t sleep or whenever I am sad. She’s the best sister.
Please help me. She’s doesn’t deserve this harsh treatment” Dason pleaded with the guard.
The guard sighed. “I understand, your sister is too good for my boss,” He said glaring at Dason.
“But I can’t betray my boss. If I do he will kill me. He’s merciless and ruthless He doesn’t have any human sympathy” The guard said and turn his back.

“Continue my love. You got a sweet voice”The foolish being said.
“Please let go of my brother. I will marry you if you released him”I pleaded and fall to his feet.
“Why aren’t you listening to me. I love that song. So continue”He said smiling. Hmmmm! How horrible.
“You asked me to sing and I sang my best song. What again? I just promised to marry you if you released my brother “I said so he can allow me to see Dason.
Am not sure if he will be released him. “Excuse me sir” One of his guards stood by the door.
He signals him to come in. “Sir we have arranged everything necessary to make sure we invest in the orphanage home than Khalid, “The guard said.
I wonder which Khalid they are talking about. Well, they are many Khalid probably not mine.
“Khalid Walter, I told you that I will come for you. Now I have arrived “He said and my ear etched.
My jaw dropped. I think there’s enmity between him and Khalid. But how? What happened between them? And why did he look so determined to tackle Khalid? Is there still time to find out?
