SCHOOL INFIRMARY

“What happen?” Terry ask as soon as he arrive.

“Theo has been injured ” Scarlett said while Roxanne and June sat looking gloomy.

“What happen to him? Where is he?”

“He’s out of trouble and he’s with Carolyn and the doctor, it’s best we leave them alone” June said not bothering to look up at Terry as she spoke.

“The only impact the fall cause is his arm being broken. He’s quite lucky that it isn’t worse” The male doctor said as a pale Carolyn stood watching Theo who had his right arm fix in a sling.

“You are not allowed to use your arm for some days, let it heal and also this drug will relieve the pain, make sure you take it always” with that said, the doctor left the room.

“Come here” Theo called softly and Carolyn went to him.

She sat on the bed and found herself being envelope in his arm

“Am sorry for scaring you” he muttered and at that moment, she couldn’t hold back her tears.

“When I saw you laying on the stretcher, bloody and unconcious. I thought I was never going to see you again” Carolyn said in between tears.

“Am fine now, there’s nothing in the world that will ever take me away from you” he said trying to soothe her and though it took a while, the tears finally stop.

“What happen? How did you end up falling?”

“When the race began, I was in ahead of everyone else but everything change when I took the wrong turn”

“But a sign board has been place in every route so the runners won’t end up getting lost ”

“Someone deliberately misled me” Theo said.

“You mean it was on purpose?” Carolyn ask and he nodded in reply.

“Why the hell is Theo injured, it isn’t part of the plan!” Ross said as soon as he walk into the empty class.

“It isn’t. The only thing I did is to mislead him so he won’t win the race” Brandi replied looking scared and worried.

“Maybe the dummy you hired to do the job pushed him” Ross half yelled.

“I wouldn’t harm a hair on Theo’s head, how can you think that I will want to hurt the guy I love!” She said breathing heavily.

“Fine, it’s not your fault and besides, he is out of danger” Ross said which calm her down.

“What are we going to do now?” Brandi ask.

“What else? It’s time to work on my deal, I won after all” Ross replied, a smile fix on his face.

FINLEY RESIDENCE

“Slowly ” Terry said as he help Theo on the bed.

“I only broke an arm not an entire body” Theo complain.

“Which is why we’ve got to be extra careful, we don’t want you breaking your other arm ” Terry tease.

“F^^k you” Theo said as Carolyn join them in the room.

“It’s time I leave, the doctor said that you need complete rest though I will feel a bit lonely at the festival after party but don’t worry, I will take a lot of pictures and send it to you. Am off now”

“Don’t forget what I ask you to do” Theo yelled after him.

“I won’t” Terry said and wave at them both before closing the door.

“Do you need me to help you with anything?” Carolyn asked.

“Go freshen up, you need it ” Theo added the last part when she was about to refuse.

“Fine then, I will be back soon ” she said and hurriedly went off.

After freshing up, she went back to Theo’s room only to see him trying to pull off his shirt.

“Let me help” she said startling Theo who hadn’t noticed her entrance.

Without thinking, she move towards him and began unbuttoning his shirt while he silently gaze down at her.

“Gently lift up your arm” she said as she slid the shirt off his body.

She was about helping him put on the sling when she notice his shirtless body. Her gaze couldn’t move away from the perfect abs and well intone body.

“Aren’t you going to put the sling on?” Theo said and she couldn’t help but to notice the teasing light in his eyes.

“Perhaps you are pervert who’s taking her fill at my body since am helplessly injured” he added lightly.

“If someone’s a pervert among us then that will be you” Carolyn told him as she finish her task.

“If I am a pervert then I would have had my dirty way with you a long time ago” he muttered and bit her ear softly.

“You didn’t win the race” she said which got him frowning.

“Which means our deal is off and I will have to wait until you realise your feeling for me, I was hoping you’d forgot” he said and got into bed.

“Never” Carolyn replied as she set the sheets around him.

“But, can’t you make an exception today. Am weak and my arm still hurts and I won’t be able to do things by myself and….”

“Okay, okay! I will stay with you till you fall asleep” Carolyn said as she tried to put the covers over him but instead, he caught her with his one good arm and pulled her down on the bed.

“Theo… Cynthia could come…”

“Cynthia never comes into my room, she respect my privacy as much as I respect hers and dad is away on a business trip which makes it fine” he said starring down at her.

“It isn’t fine since am not your girlfriend yet, it’s wrong for us to…” A kiss on the lips stopped her from saying more.

“Stay by my side, for tonight at least” he muttered and kissed her again, deepening the kiss this time around.

She got under the sheets and lay by his side, starring at him while he did the same.

“Do you know you look more sexy and lovely with your hair tousled on my bed” he said softly.

“And you look like an ogre”

“An ogre who badly wanna kiss you” he said moving towards her.

“It’s rare having you here with me and am not going to miss the opportunity cause of a broken arm” he whispered over her face.

He was leaning in for a kiss when her phone began to ring.

That got them moving away from each other and when she saw the caller, she sent a nervous look at Theo who didn’t fail to notice.

“Who’s calling?” He asked and when she didn’t reply, he took the phone from her.

“Why is this jerk calling you?” He asked referring to Ross.

“I think it’s about the deal” she said softly.

“Apart from me, did you also make a deal with him?” Theo asked as he sat up.

“Not exactly, I didn’t even give him a reply” She said quickly.

“What’s his deal about?”

“The same thing as yours, if he succeeds in winning the race which he did, I have to marry him without putting up a fight”

“There’s no way in hell am going to let that happen” Theo said.

Brandi was waiting alone in the dance club when Theo walk in.

On seeing him, she quickly ran to give him a hug.

“Am glad you are okay, you don’t know how worried I was when I heard about your injury” she said starring at his arm which is still in a sling.

“Really? I thought you would be thrilled after hearing about the accident” Theo said softly.

“Of course not! Why would you think such?”

“It’s because you were the one behind it” Theo told her smoothly.

“That’s impossible,why would I do such a thing?” Brandi denied failing to disguise the guilty look on her face.

“That’s what I want to know, why did you do it and don’t you dare lie again. I asked Terry to help me find the culprit and he showed me an interesting footage of you paying the security guard to ruin the race,why did you do it? Do you hate me that much?” He asked which got Brandi in tears.

“I don’t hate you, I would never hate you since I love you. I ruined the race solely to make you lose, I overheard your conversation with Carolyn, I heard the deal and decided then and there to make you lose ”

“Have always been by your side and yet you never looked my way. First it was Holly and now Carolyn, what do they have that I don’t have?” She yelled at him.

“Sincerity ” he said. “Holly and Carolyn have been sincere to me while you…you’ve been a liar hiding under the shadows just waiting for the right time to strike”

“Theo…”

“Keep your distance from now on, I mean it ” he said and was about to leave when she said.

“I didn’t plan this alone”

“You mean someone else was in this with you?” He asked and she nodded.

Carolyn and her friends were heading to the cafeteria for lunch when she notice Theo going to the basketball court.

Making up an excuse, she quickly went after him.

“Ross!” Theo yelled as soon as he got to the basketball court.

Ross was busy throwing the ball in the net when Theo call out his name, earning his attention.

“Don’t you know that at times like this, you should stay at home recuperating, your other arm might just end up like the broken one” Ross said and as soon as Theo got to where he is, he punch him on the face with his good arm.

“You would have love it if I ended up dead yesterday right?” Theo said glaring down at Ross.

“What nonsense are you spewing?” Ross said as he got to his feet,wiping the blood off his lips.

“There’s no need acting the fool,Brandi spilled the whole thing!”

“I never should have trusted that bitch” Ross muttered.

“Do you think that with me gone, you would be able to have Carolyn, think again fool!”

“At least with you out of the way, I can have her to myself!” Ross yelled in return.

“You can’t force someone who don’t love you to be with you”

“She would have if you hadn’t come In between us!”

“How are you so sure about that?” Carolyn ask as she walk towards them.

“How long have you been listening?” Ross asked.

“Long enough to know how cruel you are” Carolyn said.

“Caro, I can explain….”

“There’s nothing to say Ross. You have nothing to say that can justify what you did”

“Even if knowing that I love you?” Ross ask slowly.

“Love me? You don’t love me, if you do you won’t be hurting me, you will let me be happy with the person I want and you wouldn’t have done something so cruel to Theo”

“Stay away from me,Ross. I mean it” she said and turn towards Theo.

“What about our deal?” Ross asked quickly.

“You cheated which makes you the loser and besides, I never made a deal with you ” Carolyn replied and was about to leave when he said.

“Since you are casting me aside, I won’t let him be the victor, if I don’t have you then no one else will”

“You really are asking for a…”

“Theo isn’t who you think he is…he is hiding something from you” Ross said cutting Theo off.

“What are you trying to do now?”

“Did you know that Theo visited the palace to have a word with my father?” Ross asked starring at Carolyn, he let out a smirk when he saw the apprehensive look on Theo’s face.

“Don’t say it” Theo warn.

“Scared? Carolyn has to know the truth and I can’t possibly hide it from her” Ross said.

“What truth are you talking about?” A puzzled Carolyn asked.

“Theo is the master mind behind my engagement to you. In short, he is the one who made the marriage proposal to my father, he is the one who sold you out to me”
