“Tina!!” They both muttered.

“For a second, I really hoped it was true, I nearly fell into your pranks again, guess am stupid.”

“Tina, it’s not what you think, let me explain.” Seyi held my wrist and I shook it off.

“Tina, are you ok?” Feranmi asked ruffling his hair. I hissed and left them.

I must be stupid for me to think his feelings for me were true.

This is so crazy, he calculated everything to make me fall in love with him?

I matched into the class angry and looked around the lectureroom.

This is really not my world.

I don’t belong here, mama just forced me into this.

I never wanted any of this.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes trying to forget everything I heard but it seems impossible as all his words kept coming back.

Should I say am happy I found out about this or sad that he played my heart.

“Tina, can we talk privately?” Seyi said making his entrance into the class.

“Have got nothing to say to you, you loser.”

“Tina, you are taking this too serious, you should hear me out atleast, I really like you and am not joking I wanna date you.” He said rude as his hands were in his pocket.

“I heard everything b*tch, have got nothing to say to you so get lost.” He really annoys me.

“Am a b*tch? You know that’s what I really like about you, you are tough and really hard to get.” He paused and moved closer to me.

“And, that’s why am gonna make sure to get you no matter how tough you are.” He added and winked at me.

What’s his problem? Why is he being cranky?

“Seyi just stay the hell…” He placed his fingers on my lips stopping me from talking.

“I might kiss you if you say another word.” He looked at me seductively, but I won’t fall for that again.

“Try to kiss me again and I will cut those pretty lips of yours off, just try me.”

“I really like you.” He said and walks away.

This is really confusing, he claims he likes me and yet he calculated everything as if love is really all about that.

*The next day*

Waiting for time to pass by, I remain sitted in the lecture room awaiting the next lecture.

All I need to do now is to focus on my education and forget about this bunch of rude rich kids.

Most importantly make sure I don’t fall for any of them.

I nearly did with Seyi and it hurt that I did.

How stupid I was.

But, won’t I really fall in love?

“Hey.” I waved at Tina while approaching her at the school hallway.

And since yesterday she has been avoiding me now when I did nothing wrong.

“What?” She said grouchily.

“Am not here for a fight just want to talk.”

“Talk about what huh? so you guys can play with my heart again and please stop trying to act like you care I can see through you!” She half yelled, acting tough like always.

“Ok, my dad called me and he said I should drive you to my place.”

“Why? I have legs and a home.” She replied giving me no space to talk to her.

“Am being nice here, am I not?”

“I don’t need you to act nice, just in case you’ve forgotten it’s me Tina, seems your sight is now playing tricks on you.”

“Ok, it was your mom that suggested you come to our place.” I lied hoping it might convince her to come with me.

“Mama? But she never said anything.” She said looking at me suspiciously.

“I might call her for you.” I insisted as she ruffled through her bag to take her phone.

“That won’t be necessary I will trust your word on it, shall we?” She said and we got into the car.

*20 minutes later*

I stopped my car in front of my friends compound.

“What are we doing here?” She half yelled, which makes her look pretty somehow.

“We are at my friends place, I remembered there’s something I need to get from him, it will only take a few minutes.”

“You never told me this, did you?”

“Am sorry, let’s go.” I said and dropped down from the car.

It was actually a lie, for no reason I just want to be with her for that day.

I want her to have fun and forget about everything that happened.

We got into my friends place who had hosted a pool party.

“Feranmi.” Matthew called sighting me and Tina in a distance.

“Matthew.” I called back and we exchanged greetings.

“Who’s this fine girl.” He said and licked his lower lip.

“She’s a friend.” I replied and drew her closer to me.

“Wow, she’s pretty, am Matthew.” He said stretching an open hand but she ignored him.

“She’s the type that doesn’t talk.” I said faking a smile.

“Ok.” He said rubbing his hands and looking at her weirdly.

He introduced me to some other of his friends as we party on.

Even if she doesn’t want to be here, I just want her to forget about everything that happened yesterday.

I left her with my friend Matthew and went over to dance with some girls who are almost naked in their bikini.

I looked back to the spot I left Matthew and Tina but I couldn’t see them.

Where could they be? So I asked others around too.

And was told they both went inside.

Holy shit! Don’t tell me Matthew…..

No, he wouldn’t.

I rushed inside but couldn’t see them.

What have I done? Distressed I kept looking for her but she was nowhere to be found.

When, I suddenly heard voices coming from the room upstairs.

I rushed up inside and alas! It was Matthew on Tina trying to force himself on her.

Infuriated I tackled him to the ground and kept punching him repeatedly till he was dazzed.

I held her hand and dragged her out of the party.

But, one thing for sure I hated the fact that he tried to rape her.

I hated the fact that another guy was on her.

But I love the feeling that I saved her.

I played the hero.

I saved the girl am falling for.

“Let me go.” She said and jerked my hands off her.

“Are you OK?” I asked as she glared at me.

“You caused this, I was nearly raped.” She said with teary eyes.

“Am sorry, I was only trying to help.” I moved closer to her as I could see she wasn’t in her right mind but she drew back.

“Why are you trying to help? Why would you want to help me?” She asked as tears fell from her in streams.

The question she asked? I had no answer for.

Why am I really helping her? I know am falling for her but something tells me it’s more than that.

Feranmi what do you really feel for this girl.

“That’s because…. I like you.” Yes, I like her, this needs to stop, I should stop fooling myself now.

“Seems like your brain is now faulty, did you just say you like me?” She wiped off her tears and scoffed

“Yes, Can’t I like you? Am I not permitted to like you.” She looked at me weirdly and hissed.

“Let’s be friends, just friends I want to be your friend.” I held her wrist and she snapped it away.

“I want to go home.” She said ignoring what I said.

We got into the car and I drove to her place in absolute silence.

“Thank you.” She said as she unbuckled her seat belt.

I gripped her hands stopping her from leaving.

“I said let’s be friends.” I said and she winked at me which befuddled me

“Ok, let’s be friends, on one condition, this game of ours has to stop.”

“I already stopped it for a while now.” I replied with a broad smile.

“Ok, we have a deal, we are now friends, see you tomorrow.” She dropped from the car and slammed the door shut.

Is this for real? We are now friends.

That bastard? That jerk? He wanna be friends? After all he did.

If this is one of his pranks I better stay alert.

*A week later*

I thought it was a prank, but it wasn’t, his feelings were really sincere.

For a week now we have been friends, he became so sweet it was unbelievable.

And for that week everything became silent, till that day.

“I can see you two are really close now” Seyi said behind my back which startled me.

“Oh my would you that?” I asked placing my hands on my chest.

“What did I do? I just want to know since we are the only ones here.”

“Know what?” I said making to leave when he pinned my back to the wall.

“Are you dating feranmi?”

“And what if I am?” I said as his hands were on the wall across my face.

“I told you I like you.” He replied sounding serious.

“Did I tell you I like you? I don’t feel the same way, so don’t you ever question me like that.”

“Ok, am sorry, you can go.” He released me and I left him as he stares at me.

“You are done?” I asked her as I entered the class.

“Yes, let’s go.” She replied and picked her bag and we exit the class.

Just in case you are wondering, ever since that day we have become really close, I never knew this could be possible.

And ever since that day my feelings for her has grown even stronger than ever.

We arrived at my place and we entered my room.

She had promised to play games with me to get over boredom.

Although I initiated the plan.

“No, no!” she screamed after I beat her again. “Shit, not again, why are you so good at pes.” She said smiling and covered her face with her hands.

“Because am just too good.” I boasted confidentiality.

“Pssh, am also good I just need to practice more.” She raised her eyebrows which makes her look so pretty.

And at the same time I just want to kiss her and cuddle her.

“Tina, what if we could be more than friends.” I said and her face widened.

“More than friends?” She asked.

“Yes, more than friends, let’s start dating.”

That’s right, I want to date her, have held it in enough.
