LONDON
It had been three days since I arrived in London, six days after I broke up with Ted. I had better things to bother about here, it was more important; for now. Dad was going to introduce me to all his men, the one that could come at such short notice. I smeared a velvet grape lยกpstick on as I catwalked along side him as he lead me to the meeting room.
‘Are you sure you want to do this? You can have a normal life you know,’ he tried to convince me otherwise but I wasn’t going to listen.
‘Dad, please open the door.’ One shocking thing Yolanda reviewed to me, Valerรญa was my sister. I saw the DNA test but decided to keep it a secret until the time is right. Valerรญa stayed back Italy because Armando didn’t want to leave his dream country and of course, his new sweetheart behind.
He was determine to make Yolanda his friend, so he can date her in the future.
He’s wasting his time.
Dad already gave her an opportunity to be the doctor she wanted to be. He placed her under an old doctor, to take training for five years and after that, he will give her a certificate. Valerรญa was more than happy to stay back. I know she saw it as an opportunity to get to know Carlos since she collected enough information from Yolanda, but it wasn’t my business.
The door opened, I walked in with dad with a sweet smile. There were lot of men in there, all sitting. They stood up immediately we walked in and bowed simultaneously. Dad snapped his fingers, making them all straighten up. He led me to the front where two chair was placed. ‘This is my daughter, Praxina. She is now second in command, her words hold. No one is to disobey her, no one is to challenge her authority because if she kills you, you are on your own. Praxina, sitting here are 200 men, the available ones.’
‘Any special man?’ I asked, looking around.
‘Yes,’ five men walked out and bowed. ‘This is Duncan, my right hand man. He will inform you on anything and everything you need to know about the UK mafias.’
‘You’re in charge of the UK mafias, right?’
‘I oversee it since Ted is always busy.’ He said. I looked at Duncan, he was too muscular for my liking.
‘Nice to meet you Miss Newton,’ he smiled. One word flew into my head at seeing his smile. “Traitor”
‘And you are?’ I asked the blonde one.
‘Carswell is in the head of IT department, the brains. That is Joel, weapon expert. North is our best pilot and Trevor is good with explosive. This men make things happen for me because I’m too lazy to.’ Dad said as he sat on one of the chair. My eyes were fixed on Duncan, my instinct was on fire and I was going to act on it.
I walked forward and began walking around him, circling him as I tried to pick out the error I was looking for. I took a look at him from head to toes and stepped back, I couldn’t see anything but I could feel it. ‘Hand me your phone and communicators,’ I commanded. He raised a brow at me. ‘Don’t question me, I am not here for jokes.’ He looked at dad who was looking at me, equally puzzled by my actions.
‘Prax, you okay?’
‘Phone, now,’ he sharply handed me his phone, the communicator that was in his ear and wristwatch. ‘What is this for?’ I asked Carswell.
‘We use it to keep in contact, so we won’t have to use a phone. The ear communicators acts like earphones, just in case someone is to be around the corner. The wristwatches are linked to our minds, it brings out our wanted thoughts and whisper it to our ears so we won’t use words either. That way, no voice record can be dated.’ Carswell explained. I nodded, he’s so cute!
Where did all this sโ‚ฌร—y men come from?!
‘Will that be all?’ Duncan asked. I unlocked his phone easily and went through it while they all watched me with curiosity. I was pretending to go through his phone while I studied his body movement, to catch one slight agitated movement and I did.
‘Praxina,’ dad called softly. ‘Are you suspecting Duncan?’
‘Your belt,’ I smirked deviously at him. His eyes wยกdened for a brief second before he adjusted himself.
‘My belt? Isn’t this interrogation unnecessary?’ He asked, keeping his voice as calm as possible. I folded my arms under my br-asts and and c*cked my hยกps, keeping a stern look. I smirked slyly as his Adam apple danced. He reluctantly took off his belt and handed it over to me. I scrutinized the leather strap, checking for details before I looked at the buckle. I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary but I knew something was there. I stretched the belt to him like I wanted to give it back but turned it over to Carswell.
‘Have a scan run on this belt immediately and also Duncan, hand your neck chain and earrings to him, now.’
‘This is nonsense!’ He tried the tantrum shit. He knew dad would interfere.
‘Cookie…’
‘Dad, trust me, will ya?’
‘You are humiliating him,’ I rolled my eyes back to Duncan.
‘Earrings and neck chains, now.’ I repeated slowly with a threatening tone. He stepped back with fear.
‘Duncan, let her have it.’ Dad ordered leniently. Duncan was going to pull off something, I knew it. So, before he could do anything, I reached out for the PPX I tucked into the pocket of my grape jacket and shot his arms fast. I shot his kneecaps off and watched him double over, scre-ming in pain.
‘Who are you working for?’ I asked him, squatting to his level.
‘Bitch,’ he cried.
‘Wanna know what a crazy one would do?’ I asked grinningly. ‘Oh Joel,’ I called the brown haired guy. ‘Who does he love most?’
‘I don’t know…’ I averted the gun to Joel and shot his left shoulder blaze. He hollered in pain.
‘Wrong answer, try again.’
‘His wife and son,’ he mo-ned out in pain.
‘Good, bring them in. I want him to watch me wipe them,’
‘Leave them out of this!’
‘Duncan!’ Dad roared. I looked over my shoulder, that was the first time I saw my dad’s playful nonchalance face be close to a monster’s. Duncan was quickly frightened as he began to tremble. I need that f-cking look to scare off more people. Dad stood up from his chair like a majestic lion and stride to us. ‘I will only ask once, why did you betray me?’
‘I…I…I…’ I cringed when dad’s heavy boot came in contact with his face. His body rolled over like a corn just with that kick.
‘Again, why!’ Dad roared again. Duncan coughed out violently, vomiting blood as he tried to steady himself.
‘He promised me the UK Mafia if I helped him, if I assisted him in finding your one weakness and giving him information on your treasure houses. I’m sorry…’
‘This is why I don’t trust people,’ dad said bitterly.
‘What have you told him? What information?’ I asked briskly. He kept quiet. ‘If you want your wife and son to have a good life after I grind you like cassava, you will tell me what I need to know.’
‘I already told him that you are his daughter, I told him that you might be his weak link. I also gave him the locations of three of your treasure houses. Gold safe, Green Water and Stone Heaven.’ He called their weird names for us.
‘North, Trevor, are you both aware of the locations of these treasure houses?’ I asked. They nodded. ‘Dad, any bigger warehouse to keep it for now?’
‘Alpha safe.’
‘Trevor, Joel and…’
‘Edward,’ dad completed.
‘Split up, take some men and quickly transfer those treasures to Alpha whatever. We need to distract who sent you. Duncan, you are going to call and tell him we are going to get a shยกpment of gold this evening and convince him to focus there.
Someone bring me his family and also, I need you Joel to do a scan on explosive. Carswell, get on scanning each and every man for bugs or unidentified trackers and communicators. You,’ I pointed to a lady looking at me with fear. She almost collapsed when I pointed her out. ‘Calm down, where do you work?’
‘IT department.’
‘Carswell, aside from you, is she the best?’
‘Third, Mason and Jehu are.’
‘Who is good at investigations? Like a journalism or some kind of detective?’
‘We have different squad for that.’
‘Good, I need you to get the best squad into looking up a certain Dinah Trevor and have a second squad work on Camilla and Carlina Combe. I need all the information as soon as possible. Does the squad involve forensic scientist and brainacs?’
‘All the necessary,’
‘I will give you the information as soon as I’m done here. Everyone with a job, get to work but wait for Carswell and his team to check you all properly. Joel, get yourself treated. Now Duncan, who sent you?’
Dad was watching me with pride. ‘Braddock Schechter.’ A normal human being would have gasped at that revelation or show some kind of shocking reaction, but all I did was laugh my ass out at how ridiculous his name sounded.

Four days Later
I stared at the massive hologram screen as I drank from my juice box. I had been studying them for days, slept less to make sure I get things right. Three particular footages had caught my attention and I was staring at it intensely. I tapped my foot in thought as I studied it.
‘Yolanda!’ I flinched. What the f-ck! I looked at the happy boy that won’t let me be, in annoyance.
How the f-ck did he get in here?!
How did he even locate the underground basement?!
‘What the f-ck! What are you doing here?!’
‘This place is so cool!’ He squealed, looking around. I huffed. ‘My sister wanted to drop me off after I begged her to, I wanted to see you.’
‘And…?’
‘Carlos invited her to the shooting range,’ I knew Valerรญa wasn’t a pretty little weakling but Carlos letting her in just like that was all kinds of wrong! ‘Don’t sweat it, Dora is going to lead a lot of mafias and my sister was once a burglar, I’m not a kid to this type of things.’ He said coolly as he stared at the screen.
‘No honey, you are not a kid to all of this, you are an infant. Do you think the knowledge of your sister being a burglar and an actual mafia world existing is a joke?! I will not stand here and have my work get interrupted b…’
‘The footage is fake,’ he cut me off. I paused and looked at the screen and then him. ‘This is a recorded scene. It is displaying something over and over again.’
‘How do you mean?’ He walked over to the computer and zoomed in on two lizards I didn’t even notice. They were mating. ‘They have been mating for how long now?’ He rewind the video, they were still there. ‘See?’
‘Shit!’ I cursed. I moved over to the computer and called River to come over. Ursula walked in slowly with Bruce. ‘Thank God you are here Ursula, I need your help.’
‘With?’
‘This footages are fake, can you fix it?’ She didn’t reply, just walked to the computer but surprisingly, it was clear.
‘You can thank me later,’ Armando whispered and winked at me. I rolled my eyes. I thought he was another blockhead but he was proving me wrong. I could see it well, some men were sneaking illegal explosives into three of dad’s enterprises and I could see lot of dead bodies being carefully sealed in containers at the headquarters.
‘This could get dad in serious trouble!’ I shouted. I grabbed my jacket and ran out. ‘River, Bruce!’ I shouted.
I need to save dad.
๐Ÿ’š Ted ๐Ÿ’š
‘Mr. Allen, the board is waiting for you,’ my secretary popped into my train of thoughts. I nodded, stood up while buttoning my suit jacket. She shut the door and left. I stayed back for three more minutes, catching my breath. I walked out of the office and headed to the meeting, thinking about just one person.
It had been a terrible week for me, she left for London without a single goodbye. It felt like a stab but I didn’t really have any option but to accept it that way. It had been ten days since our breakup, it hurts. Yolanda, that girl became a professional anti-stalker just because of me. She didn’t want to see my face or hear my voice, so, she avoided me at all cost. Since she was still busy checking the footages, I spent my time throwing myself into extra training and work. If I wasn’t shooting down an enemy or carrying out an exchange, I would be working on my martial art training or going over the mafia issues or sitting in my office, doing normal work. I didn’t eat more than once a day, drank mostly water. I was overworking myself but it was the only way I could get my mind off her.
They all stood when I walked in, not even sparing anyone a glance. I sat down, they followed. I closed my eyes trying to delete her smile from my mind. I opened them and looked at Carlina. She smiled sweetly. I rolled my eyes away. ‘You can begin Penny.’ I told my secretary.
‘Robecca,’ she corrected. I ignored her. ‘This meeting is about the new drone project that was suggested at the last meeting by you sir. Three teams were picked to design and work on their idea of three drones and to present the blueprints and aim of their drones. You are to decide which one will be better.’
A man stood up and buttoned his suit jacket. ‘Good evening sir.’
‘Uhm,’ I grunted him a reply.
‘My name is Owen Stanley, leader of Team A. My team and I created a drone for children. Why? Children buy more toys and fun object than adults…’ The door opened. I wanted to glare at the insolent person that dared walk in during a meeting.
My heart started beating as she walked in elegantly, a sweet smile on her face. I’ve missed her so much. She wore a tight red dress that had all the men looking at her and digesting every single noticeable curves in her body, which was a lot. My throat went dry as she made her way to me, to Cephas’ chair. Her perfume had overtaken the room, I almost took hold of her to k-ss her without care. ‘I’m sorry for being late. My name is Praxina Aileen Newton, Cephas’ daughter. I will be representing him for today.’
A loud roar of awns filled the room after she spoke, her adorable voice was still breathtaking. I heard a gasp from Carlina. ‘Hi Prax,’ I managed to speak as happy as I could. ‘What’s wrong with Cephas?’
‘Dad had to handle something in Switzerland,’ she said as she sat down. ‘Can we continue?’ She was avoiding eye contact with me.
‘Yes, proceed.’ The meeting wasn’t for me but hers. She took over completely, handled the projects like a boss and selected two out of the three. I shamelessly stared at her the entire time, not removing my eyes from her body for one second. I was mesmerized by her l-ips, white hair, eyes, nose, nails.
‘Thank you all for coming,’ she said to everyone who was still fascinated by her voice, beauty and the fact that I let her takeover. ‘Team A and C, get to work. You are to present the prototypes in two weeks, is that clear?’
‘Yes ma’am,’ they chorused.
‘Mr. Nowak, your contract shall be approved once you can give it more details and accurate data and costs. This enterprise cannot fond a project that will yield no profit.’
‘Er…yes…?’ He stammered.
‘You have one week to submit the correct contract or forfeit your chance to get a sponsor. You must all keep up a good job, you are all dismissed.’ They stood up and bowed at me before leaving one by one. I sighed and stared at Carlina who refused to leave.
‘Lina, leave,’ he commanded.
‘There is no need Mr. Allen, see you next time.’ Cookie said coldly.
‘How are you alive?!’ Lina suddenly exploded. ‘You can’t be alive!’
‘That’s a very cynical thing to say to your cousin, Lina,’ Cookie sniggered. Huh?
‘Cousin, what the f-ck are you blabbing about?!’ Lina shouted.
‘Let’s just say using Vera Singtary as a name can’t keep you away from me. Next time when you want to lie, try using someone’s identity that isn’t my cousin’s.’ I watched as Dinah stepped back with fear.
‘How…’
‘Run,’ Cookie smirked. Carlina ran out. Cookie placed her finger on her ear. ‘She’s coming to you, if she escapes, I’ll kill you all.’
‘What is going on?’ I asked puzzledly.
‘That is for later, you have more things to worry about.’
‘What?’
‘Them,’ she looked at the door. Twelve men walked in armed.
‘Mr. Ame Allen,’ a man called with a stony expression on his face.
‘Yes?’
‘You are under arrest for illegal shยกpment of human org-ns…’
What!
To be continued.
Shit! Trouble!
Let’s pray for Ted. ๐Ÿ˜น
