As the moon shines brightly over the vast space of the Witches Realm, Orisaye stands alone and quiet inside the large silent temple of her past predecessors. For weeks now, Orisaye had been coming here at nights trying to get away from her heavy burdens as the Supreme witch. With the world now in turmoil and the fate of natural balance at stake, Orisaye was greatly worried about what the outcome would be and the consequences that would follow. After standing still for a while, Orisaye begins to talk to the statues of her predecessors absentmindedly and whist she was doing that, something unexpected occurs.

Orisaye ➡ For 2,000yrs, I’ve served as the Supreme witch dedicating myself to ensure that the balance is maintained. Over the years, the world has changed drastically and time has changed us witches and our way of life. A lot has happened under my watch and some of the things I do to maintain order isn’t working. Perhaps, there was something that I did wrong..

Fifth Supreme wizard ➡ YOU’RE A DISGRACE!

Orisaye ➡ WHO SAID THAT?

Startled by the booming outburst, Orisaye turns around to see who made that unexpected statement but she saw nothing but it didn’t take long for her to hear the voice again and also realize who the speaker is.

Fifth Supreme wizard ➡ I said you’re a DISGRACE! You don’t deserve to be one of us.
.

Orisaye ➡ The fifth emblem!!? How is this possible? You’ve been dead since….
.

Fifth Supreme wizard ➡ I don’t need you to remind me. Your weakness spits on our memory and legacy. We Supreme guardians are known to be the strongest and unbendable upholders of our wizardry customs. Time has made you weak and soft and you will suffer the consequences.

Orisaye ➡ You may have been a great Supreme guardian but you have no idea how times have changed. Nothing lasts forever. Our kind has to adapt.

Fifth Supreme wizard ➡ And where has that gotten you? Under your reign, humans and witches are mating creating abominations that bring about chaos. The natural order is falling apart and its all because of you.

Orisaye ➡ Riley and Christen’s union had nothing to do with what’s going on. Even when I found out they were together, I took precautions and dealt with the matter but somehow fate intervened. It was out of my hands.

Fifth Supreme wizard ➡ No, what you should have killed them both when you found out about their unnatural relationship. If you had done that, the world wouldn’t be in this mess.

Orisaye ➡ You’re not making sense out of this at all.
.

Fifth Supreme wizard ➡ You fool, there’s a lot of things you are not aware of. Remember, power incites power and that brings about a lot of opposition. The world is caught in the middle of 2 great powers and if care is not taken, the world will suffer.

Orisaye ➡ Evlyn is nowhere to be found. She may have surprised us before she won’t escape again. I will stop her.
.

Fifth Supreme wizard ➡ (laughs) Oh, you’re indeed a fool. You’re blind and you don’t even know it. Your fate is sealed Orisaye because your days are numbered but I can do this for you. There is a rat in your council that has been misleading you and your council members. Your cup is full child, nothing you do can stop what’s coming. The end is inevitable.

Orisaye ➡ So you’re saying this world will fall?. ANSWER ME!!!
.

No reply came from the statue after Orisaye asked her question. Hearing about her incompetence and flaws didn’t sit well with her, she felt frustrated and angry to the point that her magic energy cracked the very ground she stood on. Before long, Orisaye walks away with rage in her eyes and just as she was about to exit the temple , two sets of bright red eyes instant emerge from the shadows staring at her as she walked away. In that moment, Orisaye who had felt a little chill in her spine instantly turns around but she saw nothing. After standing for some seconds, Orisaye soon exits the temple after which she teleports out of sight.

A while later inside the council hall, Iyunloye makes her way into the place after receiving a last minute notice from the Supreme witch to meet with her. After approaching the Supreme witch, Iyunloye bows politely and remains quiet waiting to hear what she might say. Orisaye whose back was turned at Iyunloye stood still and quiet for a while before she began to speak.

Orisaye ➡ I’m sure you must be wondering why I summoned you here.
.

Iyunloye ➡ Is there something you want me to do, your eminence?
.

Orisaye ➡ I was informed moments ago that I have a rat in my circle. A rat that has been working in the shadows with that abomination called Evlyn.
.

Iyunloye ➡ WHAT!? It can’t be.. Any idea who it might be?
.

Orisaye ➡ No but I was told it’s amongst my council members. One of them is the treacherous rat.
.

Iyunloye ➡ What are you going to do your eminence? How are you going to handle this?.
.

Orisaye ➡ I’m thinking about it. Tell me Iyunloye, have you noticed anything strange amongst my council members? Feel free to speak.
.

Iyunloye ➡ Well, there’s only one council member that I think is acting odd and that’s Rose.
.

Upon hearing Rose’s name, Orisaye’s eyes suddenly widens a little bit as if she had heard something terrible. In that moment, she turns around and faces Iyunloye and stares at her for a while before asking her series of questions.

Orisaye ➡ Are you saying that Rose is the rat?

Iyunloye ➡ I can’t say that for sure, not without proof. Rose has been known to be a wild card but ever since Evlyn came, her presence in council has been on and off.

Orisaye ➡ Thanks for your observation. In the meantime, there’s something that I’d like you to do for me.
.

Iyunloye ➡ What’s that your eminence?
.

Orisaye ➡ Keep an eye on Rose and sew what you can find out. If she’s the rat, I want to know.
.

Iyunloye ➡ I shall do my best. When do I start?
.

Orisaye ➡ Now.
.

Iyunloye ➡ In that case, I’ll take my leave.
.

After that, Iyunloye bows politely before the Supreme witch and then walks away from her. A vicious smile soon crosses her face as she exits the council hall. Meanwhile back here in Ibadan, Rotimi waits for Ebinoluwa outside the premises of her parent’s house. Despite the thick snow and the icy cold weather that had filled the ground and atmosphere, Rotimi wasn’t feeling any cold at all. In that moment, Ebinoluwa suddenly appears before him wearing a thick fur sweater, a head warmer and a pair fluffy boots to keep her body warm. As the 2 young lovers met, there were silent for a while before they began to exchange pleasantries and converse with one another.

Rotimi ➡ Hey.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Hey.
.

Rotimi ➡ It’s been a while.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Indeed, I was starting to think that you had made your choice. Have you?

Rotimi ➡ I..

Ebinoluwa ➡ Rotimi talk! It’s freezing out here.

Rotimi ➡ Can we find someplace else to talk?

Ebinoluwa ➡ Where do you have in mind?

Rotimi said nothing after being asked by Ebinoluwa about where they would go. Instead, he gets close to her, wraps his arms around her waist and then pops out 2 large wings from his back after which he takes off like a jet flying straight into the sky. Despite being surprised by what was going on, Ebinoluwa said nothing, she just held onto Rotimi tightly waiting to see where he would take her.

Amongst the things that makes demons very dangerous is their speed. They’re the fastest beings on earth and their speed is so terrifying that defies that laws of time and space. All it takes is one demon to finish off the whole humans if they ever wish to do so. As Rotimi soared through the freezing wind with great speed, I could hardly see where we were going. He was so fast that all I could see and hear was zipping lines and whizzing sounds. At first, I thought we were going to his house in Oshogbo but I realized we were going some place else cause with his speed, we would have been in Oshogbo by now. Suddenly as I was holding onto Rotimi, I noticed that his flight pattern had changed. At first we were flying straight but now we were flying up into clouds. In that moment, I opened my eyes and saw that Rotimi and I were above the clouds and just when I thought he was going to keep flying upwards, Rotimi changed his flight pattern again and flew downwards towards the sky and as soon as we went through the clouds, I saw something unbelievable.
Here before my very eyes was a different world altogether. Just moments ago, everywhere was snowy and cold but now, everywhere was just dark and cloudy. What caught my attention the most was the landscape itself. There was no sign of life, the place reeked of death, misery and darkness. The landscape was filled caves, dark mountains and gigantic dead trees with no leaves. After taking a good look of the place, I felt inclined to ask Rotimi where we were.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Rotimi, what is the place? Where are we?
.

Rotimi didn’t answer me, he just kept flying until he reached a big cave where he finally landed. As soon as we touched the ground, I asked Rotimi again about this place and that’s when he gave me an answer.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Rotimi, what is the place?
.

Rotimi ➡ The other side of the world, where we supernatural beings live. This section is for demons but no one is here but me.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Wait.. This is where you live?
.

Rotimi ➡ Yes.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Why? You have a house in Oshogbo.
.

Rotimi ➡ I can’t go there, not while I’m going through this transformation of mine. I could hurt or kill someone.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Babe..
.

Rotimi ➡ Hurry, let’s into the cave. It’s about to rain.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ It’s just rain, how bad can it be?.
.

Suddenly in that moment, the dark skies boomed with thunder and dozens of lighting began to drop like bombs. Rotimi and I hurriedly went inside the cave to avoid getting electrocuted to death. After we entered the cave, Rotimi and I walked on for some minutes until we reached a fairly large tent.

Ebunoluwa ➡ You live here?
.

Rotimi ➡ Yes.
.

Ebunoluwa ➡ It is comfortable?
.

Rotimi ➡ Well, not much but I manage. Let’s get inside.
.

I was surprised when I got inside the tent, It was warm and quite comfortable. There wasn’t much inside the tent, just a thick carpet, a small mattress and a small bag that contained Rotimi’s clothing. After observing the tent, I removed all my heavy clothing and sat on Rotimi’s bed which was very soft. Rotimi on the other hand turned on a solar lamp and then offered me some of his delicacies which I gladly collected and ate with relish . It’s been a while since I eat one of his culinary masterpiece and now that I was eating one, I felt warm all over.

Ebunoluwa ➡ Hmmm, this is so good Rotimi.
.

Rotimi ➡ Thanks.
.

Ebunoluwa ➡ Why did you have to come all the way out here? There are other places. Better ones.
.

Rotimi ➡ No, this place is better.
.

Ebunoluwa ➡ Aren’t you getting troubled by other demons?
.

Rotimi ➡ They wouldn’t dare try that. Some of them tried at first day I came here and they paid the price with their lives.

Ebunoluwa ➡ So you kill now without hesitation?

Rotimi ➡ (silence)

Ebunoluwa ➡ Answer me.

Rotimi ➡ What do you want me to say?

Rotimi ➡ IT’S OUT OF MY HANDS, OKAY? I don’t like this as much as you but I can’t stop what’s happening to me. The more I try to resist, the stronger it’s get. The bloodlust and hatred just keeps getting worst and I might have given in if it wasn’t for you. You’re the reason why I’m still holding onto what’s left of my soul. Without you, I have nothing and no one. My aunt hasn’t talked to me since you left the lounge the other day, she doesn’t even want to see me.

I was speechless and sad after I heard that. Rotimi was going through a very difficult time and I’m the only light in his dark miserable world. I was trying to make him choose who he’s supposed to be but now I see that was a mistake. He can’t choose, he can never choose. All I can do is stay by his side, always.

Ebunoluwa ➡ I’m sorry for making you trying to choose. I won’t let you give in. No matter what happens, I won’t let darkness consume you.

Rotimi ➡ What if you can’t stop it? I don’t want to hurt you if things get out of hand. You can’t be around me when that happens. I can’t lose you.
.

Ebunoluwa ➡ What are you saying? This is my choice to make not yours. I can’t afford to lose you as well.
.

Rotimi ➡ Ebunoluwa I..
.

Ebunoluwa ➡ Don’t say a word. We’re going to go through this together.
.

Rotimi ➡ So does that mean we’re always going to be together?
.

Ebunoluwa ➡ Let’s not make any promises yet.

Rotimi and I were soon silent after that and by this time around, we were already sitting close to each other. Before long, Rotimi reached out for my hand and clasped it with his. I held Rotimi’s hands tightly as well after which I stared at him and our eyes met.
As we maintained our gaze at each other for a little while, Rotimi suddenly reached out and kissed me slowly and gently. My lips was closed at first but gradually I gave in and kissed Rotimi as well. Our kiss was slow at first but eventually it soon got a bit wild. Before long, I mounted myself on Rotimi’s laps so as our kiss got more intense, we were now exchanging tongues and touching each other sensually moaning softly in the process. Feeling Rotimi’s strong hand on my skin made me feel hot all over, I soon became wet and my honey pot was twitching like crazy. However as things was going smoothly between us, something unexpected occurred. In that moment, something unexpected happened to Rotimi, some parts of his body transformed into that of a demon, even his personality had changed too. At first, I was surprised but then I realized what was the cause of all this.

This very quote was my mom’s favorite biblical quote. She loves using it in prayer when something bad happens. I’ve lost count of how many times she’s used it to the point that the words are imprinted in my mind. Sometimes, I used to wonder why she was so fixated on this very quote but now I do.
The very fate of the world was at stake and on the brink of annihilation. Evlyn’s appearance not only shook the world but it served as a reminder the terrifying power of evil and the consequences of power falling into the wrong hands. With the chaos happening around the world, It got me thinking about the end of the world wondering if this was it. There’s no way this is the world ends, it can’t be, the holy books stated that the end of the world would occur when mankind has lost it’s faith completely. Evlyn’s main agenda is to wipe humans off the earth so that supernatural beings could reign supreme and doing that requires opening the gates of hell onto the world.

Ending the world isn’t much of a concern to me, what bothers me the most is the lives of the people I care about especially my family. God knows the things I’ve lost and sacrificed to have such a lovely family and I’ll be darned if I’m going to let some ancient witch take that away from me. I wasn’t able to save my parents when the Diabolic 5 plagued Ibadan decades ago but this time around, I won’t let happen to my family and I’m going to do whatever it takes to make sure that nothing happens to them. Presently, here I was outside the house standing on my porch watching as the snow fell from the sky. In that moment, Rose came outside as well touching her little baby bump with her left hand whilst her right hand was balanced behind her hip. She was quiet for a while before she began to converse with me.

Rose ➡ Beautiful isn’t it? Who would have thought that snow would ever fall in Ibadan.
.

Riley ➡ It is beautiful but we both know, there’s evil behind it.
.

Rose ➡ There’s evil in everything. That’s life. (Chuckles)

Riley ➡ What’s funny?
.

Rose ➡ Just thinking about my youthful days. 500yrs is sure a long time. If only the old me would see me now, she’d laugh and mock me.

Riley ➡ Well, you should even consider yourself lucky to have this blessings despite the horrible things you did.

Rose ➡ Nobody is pure. Everyone has a dirty sheet. Me, I’m not ashamed of mine. I’d do it again if I could go back in time.

Riley ➡ It’s a shame you can’t.

Rose ➡ Hmm, it’s been a long road coming here to this moment. You finally got what you wanted. Christen is yours, she birthed your kids and you’ll both live for a long time to see your grand kids and their kids. Eternal love.

Riley ➡ That’s a big “IF”.. There’s no future as long as Evlyn is around. She needs to go.

Rose ➡ I agree.
.

Riley ➡ Do you think we can stop her?

Rose ➡ How should I know?
.

Riley ➡ There has to be. I’ve lost so much to let it all end like this.

Rose ➡ It’s just like you said. Not everyone will be alive when this is all over.

Riley ➡ I don’t care. As long as the outcome is in our favor, I’d be willing to sacrifice myself to do it.
.

Rose ➡ Your courage is unlike any other Riley. I respect you for that but some sacrifices can be in vain.
.

Riley ➡ So what do you suggest we do?
.

Rose ➡ Flip a coin and let destiny decide our fate. Prepare yourself brother-in-law. We’re about to fight the biggest fight of our lives.
