Chapter 121 :- Fall of the Council, enemies at the gate.

Nature as beautiful as it may look, has a whole different side to it which many have little or no knowledge of. In life some things appear to be beautiful and pleasing to the eyes but underneath all of that, unimaginable horror awaits. Nature is the perfect example of what is being said as *Appearances are deceiving*. On the outside, everything looks like paradise but if one takes a closer look, he/she will see that there’s a sight of nature that can their worst nightmare. Having being blessed with the power to manipulate nature, I more than anyone know the ups and downs of nature.
Presently as snow pilled up outside the premises of my house, I stood silently watching the snowflakes. Despite the serenity and tranquility of this moment, I couldn’t help but feel alarmed by the unnatural circumstances. Nature is all about balance and this phenomenon is definitely out of balance. Whilst I was standing alone in the cold, I began to think about when and how will this disturbing times end. As much as I cherished carrying Riley’s child inside me, I wasn’t pleased that I was going through such a life changing situation in this horrendous times. In that moment as I was still staring at the snowflakes piling up in my front porch, Solomon appeared beside me running his mouth as usual.

Christen ➡ Why shouldn’t I? For 20yrs, Riley and I have built something beautiful, something nobody ever thought was possible. A witch and a human finally coming together as one. We did it and it worked but now our bridge is on the verge of collapsing.

Solomon ➡ You should understand that nothing lasts forever.

Christen ➡ Don’t tell me that. I’ve been through too much to lose everything. I’d sacrifice anything to keep what I’ve built with Riley.

Solomon gave no reply after I said that. He soon vanished leaving me alone on my front porch once more but as soon as Solomon left, Riley appeared outside and walked to me. After getting close, Riley stood behind me and wrapped his hands around my waist and began to kiss my neckline. I trembled and twitched as I felt his cold lips on my skin which gave me this pleasurable tingle.

In that moment as we were about to enter the house, something boomed in the sky like a sonic jet making this loud whizzing sound. Although I couldn’t see what it was but I tell that whatever it is that made that sound was coming our way. Just as I was about to cast a spell, a large demon suddenly dropped in front of the house like a meteor from the sky. The impact of his landing scattered the snowflakes all across the house, especially the house which half of it was covered in snow. Immediately the demon appeared, I felt this overwhelming sinister sensation coming from him and it made my spine tingle with fear. Despite that, I didn’t cower in fear, I braced myself and tried to cast a spell but before I could do that, the demon instantly closed in on me and grabbed my hands.

In that moment, Riley and I realized that Lionel was present with us and unlike us he couldn’t see Rotimi who was now in his demon form. Since Lionel is human, he can’t see demon cause if he had seen Rotimi, he would have definitely died on the spot.

Riley ➡ Don’t bother asking. We’re talking to a demon.

Christen ➡ Why are you here Rotimi and why do I smell my daughter all over you? Where is she?

Rotimi ➡ She’s in trouble and I saw Evlyn.

Somehow, I’ve always known that this day would come but I never imagine it’d happen this way. Secrets no matter how long they’ve been hidden will always be exposed no matter what, the world may be too big but nothing stays hidden forever. After I was apprehended by the council, I was taken straight to a mountain prison where I was chained and locked up along with Xeira. Apart from the chains of the trinity seal I was changed up with, I was also chained up with another seal called the *Sihir curse*
The Sihir curse was a magic that was known to used by an extinct afro-asiatic witch tribe called the Sihir tribe. The Sihir tribe was dominated by witches, they only had few wizards in their midst and their skills in the dark arts was beyond compare. Apart from being beautiful and attractive, the witches in Sihir tribe wielded magic that was a nightmare to other witches and wizards all around. They had variety of dangerous dark magic but their most deadliest magic was the Sihir Curse. When casted on a witch or wizard, the Sihir curse would turn their magic against them making it too much for them to handle or make it eat them by burning itself inside them. Many witches and wizards tried to learn the magic but unfortunately that wasn’t possible, only those with the Sihir bloodline could cast such magic. Even amongst other witches and wizards, The Sihir witches hardly show themselves, they operate in the darkness of the darkness. Unlike other witches, the Sihir witches don’t eat humans instead they feed on their souls and use their body parts for dark powerful rituals. Stories of the Sihir’s dark arts sent fear into the hearts of other witches and wizards that they were forced to band together and eliminate them. As the story goes, the witches of the Sihir tribe were extinct, the records of their dark arts disappeared with them. Some even consider the Sihir witches to be bedtime stories cause it’s been a millennium since their annihilation was carried out.
Presently as I sat quietly in my confinement thinking about what would happen to me next, Xeira began to annoy and make fun of me. As much as I wanted to murder her in that moment, I couldn’t risk casting any magic because of the chain of Sihir curse which I was bounded with.

Xeira ➡ (laughs) Well, well, well.. I wasn’t expecting things to turn out like this.

Ebunoluwa ➡ (silent)

Shortly after I said that, the Supreme witch appeared with some of her council. She looked calm but there was anger in her eyes, her council on the other hand were busy glaring at me with hate in their eyes. I stared back at them without blinking an eye, I didn’t care who or what they are cause they don’t scare me. As far as I’m concerned, I’m not the one they should be worrying about.

Orisaye ➡ Is there anything you would like to say for yourself child?

Ebunoluwa ➡ (silent)
.

WC 1 ➡ SPEAK TRAITOR!!

Ebunoluwa ➡ Traitor!? How dare you? In fact, how dare you all look at me like I’m the enemy? I may have hidden my true nature but I’m not the one that should be in chains.

WC 2 ➡ Lies! Lies!

Orisaye ➡ ENOUGH!! Why hide you true nature? Only those with evil intent do that.

Ebunoluwa ➡ That wasn’t my choice. My parents told me to do so cause they feared it would put a target on my back but the real reason is because of your reaction. I fought Evlyn, I’m not working with her. You think she’s dead but she’s hiding. This fish bitch here is her lieutenant.

WC 3 ➡ Your Eminence, you can not trust her.

Ebunoluwa ➡ I’m powerful than all of you combined and I had the opportunity to destroy all of you but I didn’t. Tell me, would Evlyn had done that? Think what you may but I’m not the enemy.

Xeira ➡ (laughing mischievously)

Orisaye ➡ What’s so funny?
.

Xeira ➡ You’re so pathetic! What makes you think you still have authority? Your reign is over and your principles is nothing but shit. I’ve been about your policies for maintaining natural and spiritual balance. You’re not a god, just a witch with a higher magic ability. Nature can’t be bent, it has a mind of it’s own which is why this girl’s parents mated with each other. A human and a witch breeding, an abomination of the highest order, all of that happened under your reign. You talk about maintaining balance ,(chuckles) Balance has already been broken already, don’t see what the humans are doing? They’re doing the very things their religion forbids them too. If the humans could do that, what’s going to stop us supernatural beings from doing so.
Time for you to wake up Supreme witch, you’re chasing a fantasy that has been long shattered. It’s time for you to accept how things are or you’ll be crushed.

Orisaye ➡ You’re wrong. Nature can’t be bent but it has order which keeps everything going in circulation. Going against nature brings untold consequences and that is why I’m doing my best to prevent that.
The council wanted nothing more than your execution but considering that I was presence during your naming ceremony, I will give you a chance at trial to prove yourself. Your parents will also answer for their actions and anyone who knew about your true nature. As for you princess, I will hand you over to the mermaids to answer for your crimes. Seems like you have more trouble with your own kind than you have with us. I also heard that your sister is also looking for you. I’m pretty sure she’ll be pleased that we have you in custody.

In that moment, The Supreme witch clapped her hands and within a blink of an eye, I found myself in the middle of the Council chamber. However, I wasn’t the only one there, the chamber was filled with witches and wizards of the Realm not to mention Orisaye and all her council members who were also present.
Immediately I appeared into the council chamber, everyone was busy murmuring, some were even calling me unpleasant names, some even demanded that I should be executed. I wasn’t surprised how everyone knew me cause after all, I’m the first hybrid witch and the daughter of a human. As the noise went on for some minutes, Orisaye raised her right hand and the whole chamber became quiet. Just as she was about to address everyone, something unexpected occurred. Suddenly, the entrance of the council chamber busted to bits and amidst that destruction came flying Iyunloye. She fell hard on the ground and rolled for some seconds before she stopped. Her stunning physique was covered in bruises and there was blood all over her. Shortly after Iyunloye appearance, the shadows in the council chamber began to take form and in that moment, I knew exactly who it was.
Within a blink of an eye, Aunt Rose walked into the council chamber defiantly and majestically looking gorgeous and terrifying as ever. Despite her little baby bump, her presence made the almost everyone gasp with fear as they saw her. She had this vicious smile on her face and walking behind her was an army of her shadow minions.
Shocked by what had happened, The supreme witch stood up and lashed out at my Aunt but unfortunately for her, her voice and authority meant nothing.

Orisaye ➡ Rose! What’s the meaning of this?

Rose ➡ A hostile takeover!

WC 3 ➡ How dare you…

Rose ➡ Shut your mouth fool.

To everyone’s surprise, the enforcers stood still without moving at inch, eventually, they turned against the Supreme witch and her council. Aunt Rose laughed so hard that her voice echoed the council chamber making the Supreme witch and her council look weak and stupid. As grateful as I was that she came, I didn’t like the way she treated them.
