{ The Scandal }

~ PREVIOUS NIGHT~

Lily got to Calvin tent only to stop out side when she heard Willow talking on the phone.

She had agreed to Calvin suggestion that she forgot about Willow being his room mate.

She can’t spend the night with Willow, not when he’s still bent on making her his fake girlfriend.

She turned wanting to head back to her tent when she some thing Willow said on the phone stopped her.

“Are you still going to keep up with is engagement stuff?” He ask aloud and no one need to tell Lily that he is talking to his parents on the phone.

“But I don’t want to. Why would you ask me to get engage when John refused to get engage to her, after all he is the one you chose for her at first?”

“Oh! So since my older brother doesn’t want her, you toss her unto me?”

“Am still young and you can’t expect me not to have fun and ……hold on a sec mom! You can’t do that to me” he yelled out angrily.

“Why do I have to suffer for what I don’t want! For crying out loud you weren’t forced into a loveless marriage with dad so why can’t you convince him of mine? Why do you enjoy hurting me this way? Whatever John doesn’t want it’s being passed down to me and if I refuse you threaten me! It’s unfair, really unfair” he added before ending the call.

Lily was still comprehending the things she heard when she heard him scream followed by the sound of glass shattering, Immediately she ran into the tent to check on him.

He was seated on his bed with his head bow.

“Are you okay?” She asked as she went to kneel in front of him.

When she saw his bloody hands, she gasp out and stood up to go get the first aid box when he pulled her back with his good hand.

“Am okay, you don’t have to worry”he said.

“But you are blee….”

“Am fine! I can handle it, have always handled things by myself” he snapped at her and instead of being offended.

She went to her back pack and pull out a white piece of clothe which she wrapped around his bloody hand.

“This will stop the bleeding” she said still crouched up in front of him.

“For how long have you been there?” Willow ask slowly.

“For a while now ” Lily replied with out thinking.

“Then you must have heard my conversation a while earlier” he said while she looked away in guilt.

“I didn’t know that they were pressuring into getting engaged” she began slowly.

“They are and I tried to get your help but you….”

“I would have helped you if you told me how serious it was, you only joked about it that I thought you were trying to play me” she confessed interrupting him.

“But now you know and still wouldn’t help me” he said looking sad and some how that touched Lily’s heart.

“Fine then! I will pretend to be your girlfriend only if you promise not to take it too far” she said which earned her a smile from him.

“When you say take it too far, does it mean that I can’t kiss you?” He asked reminding her of the kiss they shared the other day.

“Yes. You can’t touch or kiss me whenever you want” she said.

“Then how will we convince my parents about us?” He asked getting off the bed.

“I don’t know! Find a way to convince them but no touching” she said moving away from him only for him to pull her back into his arms.

“Am grateful, thanks.” He said hugging her tight in his arms.

Lily was at first surprised by his action but then she relax and held him back and strangely it felt comforting.

~THE NEXT DAY ~ PRESENT MOMENT~

“Who posted this?” Beth yelled again while the three students who had come to ask her for the info said.

“I did!” Katrina said as she approached them and by now the other students were watching.

“You bitch!” Beth yelled moving past the three students towards Katrina who was unable to defend herself from Beth slaps.

Katerina was screaming to be let go of when Lily and some other students manage to pull Beth away from her.

“See that! See that everyone!” Katrina yelled as she tried to arrange her disarray hair.

“You all must be wondering why Beth is acting this way and that’s because she’s defending Calvin. She knew about his plan all along and kept it a secret, she knew Calvin is a pervert and a imposter who faked his way and chose to keep quiet!” Katerina added.

“Calvin is not a pervert you darn slut!” Beth yelled trying to pull out of their hold.

“He is! If he isn’t why would he fake his way in? Why would he lie to us?” Katrina asked with a evil smirk on her face.

“That’s because he…..”

“Let me explain that myself!” Calvin replied from behind and all eyes turned on him.

“Your right in saying that I decieve you all and I faked me way in but it’s not due to the reasons Katrina gave” he began while they all payed attention.

“I simply fell in love and I came to find that person ” Calvin replied.

“But how come the person you fell for is a high school student?” A student asked.

“Uh! We met under special circumstance and just found each other recently. I didn’t mean to lie to you all but it was the only way for me to get into school with out a problem and I don’t regret it ” he said starring at Beth who had a sad expression on her face.

“So did you find her?” Another student asked.

“Yes. I did” he replied not looking at Beth this time around.

“Since a jobless person have found out my secret and have also posted it on the school website making every one aware of my situation, it’s time I leave. I wish you all success” he said as he turned to leave.

Having heard enough praises from the students lips, Beth went after Calvin and saw him heading to where the cars were parked.

“Calvin!” She called and when he stopped, she ran straight into his arms.

“Don’t go” she said with tears in her eyes.

“If I don’t go then your identity will be revealed. It took me a lot of will not to tell every one that you are my love” he said pushing her away from him slightly so he could see her face.

“I don’t care, I don’t care if every one knows that am the one you love. I just don’t want you to go” she said.

“You are the reason why I came to this school in the first place and now that have found you, it’s time I leave. Even with out Katrina posting it, I would have left. It was just a matter of time ” he said.

“So you are really leaving?”

“I am and besides we are still going to see each other cause you live with me. I really wanna drive off with you now but you should stay and enjoy yourself. Have got to go home to settle some stuff, it has to do with urgent business” he said which got her nodding slowly.

“You are always in my heart and I will eagerly be waiting for your arrival” he added giving a long passionate kiss.

“See you love and tell Willow to get my things ready, I will send one of the guards to come get it” he said blowing her a kiss even as he went into his car.

A while later Beth, Lily, Willow, Eric and Jenny sat at the same table having their lunch just like every one else.

“Who would have thought that Calvin will be a romantist” Jenny said in excitement.

“I knew at first glance that he came to this school solely for a girl” Willow said with his mouth full.

“Just keep on eating, you look much better when you are quiet” Lily said while Willow shrugged in return.

“But what’s he going to do? I heard the post has gone viral, it’s the number one thing every one is searching for ” Jenny said getting Beth attention.

“Really? Let me see” she demanded taking Jenny phone and when she confirmed her words, she got out of the table heading to their teachers tent.

She needs to ask for permission if she’s going to leave the camp.

Beth got to the teacher tent and after lying about her mom being sick and alone, they let her leave.

She went back to the camp to pack her things leaving a note for Lily.

She walk out of her tent only to see Eric waiting there for her.

“I will take you” he offered.

“But you don’t know where am going” she said as he swiftly took her bag from her.

“Eric you shouldn’t bother with me, I can ….”

“Won’t you at least let me do this for you?” He asked cutting her off abruptly.

“I know that you are going to meet Calvin, I know you are the girl he came here for. After hearing him tell his story this after noon, I knew I couldn’t be a match for your love” Eric confessed.

“For my love?” The confused Beth said.

“I know this is wrong time to tell you this but I love you. At least I want to tell you this before I give up on you” he said making Beth eyes widen in surprise.

“I wanted to take things slow and make you fall for me gradually but am no match for Calvin. If he could disguise himself just to search for you then he’s the better man, you are lucky to have some one like him ” Eric said with a sad smile on his face.

“I didn’t tell you this so you could feel sorry for me or anything. I just…..wanted you to know how I feel and so I want you to keep treating me as a friend, don’t distance yourself from me due to my confession that will hurt” he said smiling at her before walking off.

Beth stood watching him walk off feeling sad for him.

He would have made a lovely boyfriend if she had fallen for him, she thought as she followed him.

~ CALVIN’S HOME ~

As soon as he got of his car, Raymond approached him having a worried look on his face.

“How on earth did those things went on line?” Raymond asked referring to the info that was posted.

“Is it that bad?” Calvin asked.

“It is! Reporters won’t stop calling me and few of our investors have pulled out while some are demanding for an explanation”

“What are we going to do? Things have become hectic”

“We prepare a press conference ” Calvin said.

“A press conference? Don’t tell you are prepared to….”

“Yes, Am prepared to give them the answers they all want to hear” Calvin replied.

“Do you think that will work?”

“It has to, it’s the only way I can get us out of this mess while I protect the one I love and don’t be shock by this, Beth has been my mystery girl all along” Calvin confessed shocking Raymond.

“What the hell! Tell me more” Raymond said following him into the house.

“I will but after the press conference ” Calvin said as he went up to his room while Raymond arrange the things for up coming press conference.
