Asha’s residence*

” What are you doing here?!” She growled cutting him off.

Josh gulped hærd as he averted his gaze from hers, he was finding it difficult to breathe and he was sweating profusely despite the weather being chill.

” You don’t want to answer?” She asked again but Josh gaze were fixed on the child she was holding. It was a girl child but Josh couldn’t see her face because she rested it on Asha’s neck.

” Are you married?” He suddenly asked and Asha smirked.

” What if I am? Will you then leave my house?!”

” Are you married or not? Who’s this child you’re holding?” He asked as tears pricked his eyes. He won’t be able to take it all in if she tells him she was married, he had come all the way to sort things out with her.

Asha looked at him with detest Written all over her face, she was glad Tara was a deep sleeper otherwise she would have woken up and asked numerous questions. She carried her apartment key from her handbag and opened door. She got in,side and closed the door in a bang making Josh flinch slightly.

She needed to go sleep Tara or else their argument might wake her up, of course she knows they will have a heated argument, she had lots of questions anyway. She came back outside and stood in front of Josh with her hands folded under her b-obs.

” You have three minutes to explain yourself.” She said as she looked at her wrist watch. Josh sighed deeply before he faced her, that was when he realized that her face was a bit pale and her eyes have gone in,side. She was looking unwell and stressed out.

” Asha can just listen to me please?”

” Of course, like I said you have three minutes.” She answered with finality in her voice.

” The night we had s-x…”

” Point of correction we didn’t have s-x, you raped me, know the difference!” She said in gretted teeth and he nodded his head.

” Ok, go on.” She gestured with her hand.

” The night I raped you, I really wanted to wait till you’re awake, so I can apologise but I had a call from my dad and I had to leave immediately. That was when my dad decided that I should go take fresh air in Spain because my mom died.” He explained and she just stared at him with a straight face.

” Asha I swear I didn’t want to go, my dad forced me too. After the rape incident I lived with the guilt all my life and it was frustrating…Asha please forgive me.”

His pleadings were like music to Asha’s ear and she was feeling irritated by it already.

” Do you know that, what you did destroyed my life?”

” Am sorry.” He uttered close to tears.

” Do you know that, I lost my family because of what you did? Do you know that, I suffered a lot for what you did? I passed through hell Josh, I did and it was frustrating, do you think it’s easy for for me?!” She yelled as tears rushed down her face.

” Am sorry Asha, I didn’t mean for any of this to happen.”

” I lost everything I love because of that night, I suffered a lot because of that night, I almost died in the labour room that day, I wanted to terminate the pregnancy but i couldn’t, the doctor told me that if I did I might die alongside with the baby and I if I don’t complications could occur because am still young and fragile and I might lose my life or I wouldn’t be able to give birth again. I lost my chances becoming a mother again, I lost everything and you expect me to forgive you?!” She yelled as she cried bitterly.

” So, the… baby… Is… Mine?” Josh asked with a stutter and she frowned.

” You don’t believe me? I get it, you think am a slut right? Get out!” She said and he knelt in front of her. He moved closer and held her wa-ist as he rested his head on it.

” Am sorry, please forgive me Asha.” Josh cried and she pushed him off her body. She cleaned her tears but they kept rushing.

” Get out, just leave please…am begging you.”

” Asha please listen to me…Asha am so…” He was saying when she got in,side and shut the door at his face.

Asha got in,side her house as she sat down and hugged her knees.

” Why must you show up now? Just why?” She uttered as she cried more.

” I thought you were gone but now you found me, why reminding me of my past? Why?!” She yelled as she cried bitterly.

” It’s hurts, it’s hurst a lot.” She kept hitting her chest as she cried.

Josh stood up and cleaned his tears before leaving. He was already having headache and his head was blank.

THE LUCAS’S MANSION*

Josh entered the house and dropped the car key on a table in the sitting room. Not minding the fact that his step mom was there he just turned back going to his room when she stopped him.

” Where are you coming from?” She asked and Josh glared daggers at her.

” I don’t really remember us being this close and besides am not a child whom you can ask for his whereabouts.”

“Don’t feel too big Josh, I just asked because we had guest and they asked after you.” She said and without saying a word he turned back going to his room.

” Hope you didn’t go back to that worthles waitress.” She asked and he halted on his track. He turned to her with his blazing red that she got scared at first.

” Don’t you dare call her worthless, you know nothing about her…am I clear victoria!” He yelled and she replied with a nod.

Immediately he rushed up to his room, she held her chest and sighed out…she was so scared…the josh today scares the living day out of her.

Josh got to his room and close the door in a bang before leaning on it. He closed his eyes as the words of Ash’s replayed in his head.

” I lost my chances becoming a mother again, I lost everything and you expect me to forgive you?!”

He roughed his hair and tears started rushing down his face again. He was hurting badly and he felt his vision getting blurry already. He shook his head sideways trying to clear the dizziness.

” Am such a bad person…why did all this happen? Am sorry Asha.” He cried as he kept hitting his head on the door.

GOLDEN HIGH SCHOOL*

The hallway was as busy as a subway, with the chatter and giggle from the students you can hærdly hear a thing.

Allison walked over to Prudent as she rested her head on one of the locker staring at a direction.

” Hey, Ally what’s up?” Prudent said but Allison didn’t reply. It seems her mind was far from her and she was lost in staring.

Prudent rolled her eyes, she has known Allison to be the type who always fantasizes. Prudent was getting pissed already as she slapped Allison on the shoulder.

” What’s wrong with you?!”

” Him, he’s the one making me go crazy.” Allison said as she pointed towards a direction of a guy.

” What?! You are not serious.” Prudent shook her head sideways, she still couldn’t believe that her friend was talking about Leo.

” Am damn serious, I like your brother… I’ve been telling you for more than a year now but you seem less bothered.”

” That’s because I don’t want you to date him.” Prudent said as she packed her hair in a bun. Ally furrowed her brows as she turned to Prudent.

” Why do you want me to date?”

” Because he’s a demon.” Prudent replied and she gasped. ” Besides he doesn’t have time for girls and even if you date him, he’s just gonna have a taste of you and ditch you.”

” Nah, I don’t buy that, you just don’t want me to date your brother.” She said with a frown and Prudent chuckled.

” Sure thing kiddo.”

” Oh, my God! We are age mates…stop calling me that, it’s frustrating.” Allison whined as she folded her hands under her b-obs.

” Am three months older than you so…you’re like a kid sis to me.” Prudent said and Allison wanted to argue but was interrupted by the head teacher.

” I have an announcement to make,” The head teacher Mrs kipps said through the intercom and the noise dies down.

” Y’all know prom is approaching right? You should start picking your partners… That’s what I wanted to say. So get back to class.

Immediately the teacher stopped talking the students scre-med, some where jumping while some where already talking to their partners. They want to enjoy every moment of this year’s prom and make it special.

” Whoa, did you hear that prudy? Prom is approaching…I need to ask Leo to be my date for prom, who knows some bad shit might happen.” Allison said as she licked her l-ips.

” Ewwwww…Gross… Stop thinking dirty.” Said Prudent with a crumpled face while Allison chuckled.

” Stop acting like a saint and let’s get to class.”

Otto searched all over the place for Asha but he couldn’t find her. He searched the empty room and the washrooms but she was no where to be found.

Their school prom was approaching, so he wanted to ask Asha to be his partner, since they are so close and because he likes her, he knows it’s crazy but he found himself falling for her.

He was worried about her because she wasn’t looking too good when she arrived at school. Her eyes were all swollen like she’s been crying a lot. When he asked her, she said she was fine that her eyes were swollen because she’s been studying in the night.

He ran out of ideas as he searched the entire place but couldn’t find her. He roughed his hair and sweat was seen forming on his forehead already.

” Has she gone home?” He thought but then he smiled as he remembered where she might be. Without wasting much time he quickly left going to the garden. She had told him, she loves flowers a lot and that seeing lots of it takes her worries away for the time being.

He got there and met her crying as she bowed her head. He stood there for a while as he watched her, she was still beautiful, even much more beautiful as she cried.

‘ what could be wrong with her?’ he thought as he started walking towards her. When she raised her head to see him standing in front of her, she cleaned her tears.

” Otto, what are you doing here? You should be in class.” She uttered in a teary voice, her eyes have gotten swollen and her ears were all red as it came into view, since she packed her hair in a bun.

Without saying a word, Otto sat on the long bench close to her. He used his thumb to wipe the tears that are on her cheek.

” Why are you crying? Did something happen?” He asked and she shook her head sideways.

” Nothing happened, I just yawned that’s why am crying… Isn’t that crazy?” She said beaming widely.

” It’s not crazy, stop lying to me. Now answer my question, did something happen?”

” I shut him out… He apologised but I couldn’t forgive him, it’s hærd Josh, it’s very hærd to let go off my past sufferings.” She stated and her eyes welled up in tears.

” Are you talking about your daughter’s dad?”

” Yes, he showed up at my house yesterday, I just can’t bring myself to forgive him… The scars are too deep.” Asha sobbed and Otto smiled as he stared into her electric blue eye balls.

” You know if you don’t forgive him, you are being selfish.” He said and she looked at her.

” You are only thinking about yourself and it’s selfishness. Have you thought about your daughter’s happiness? You are the one who told me that she needs her dad right? Even if you can’t forgive, find a place in your heart to do so… Just for your daughter’s sake.”

Asha closed her eyes and sobbed silently.

” I don’t know Otto, I don’t think I can.”

” You can, just for Tara’s sake ok?” Otto said and pulled her close to himself. He hugged her and started patting her back while she cried on his shoulder. He has always known from the start that the rightful guy would come for her and he had no choice than to let her go.

HONEY SALT’S KITCHEN*

Josh laughed so much that tears cane out of his eyes. This little girl in front of him was very funny and he loved her smartness.

” Uncle you are crying… Why?” Little Tara asked as she pointed at Josh’s face.

” Am not crying… It’s just tears of Joy.” Josh replied and she hmmmed.

He was in the restaurant waiting for Asha, he wanted to sort things out with her and he wouldn’t go home until he accomplished what he came for. Mean while waiting for Asha he met this little cutie and she made him laugh a lot.

” So, tell me, what’s your name?” He asked.

” My name is Tara.”

” That’s such a sweet name, who named you?” He asked again and she smiled showing her little gap teeth. Josh smiled when he saw her gap teeth, it reminded him of his mom and he loves it.

Tara was about to reply when she saw her mom and smiled. She quickly jumped off the chair and ran to her mom hugging her tightly.

Josh turned around and was shocked by what he saw… The girl he was talking to was called Asha mom… Which means she’s his daughter.

” Go meet Aunt lucy ok?” Asha uttered and Tara ran to where lucy was working.

Asha walked over to the table and sat opposite Josh.

” So, Tara is my daughter?” Josh asked and Asha rolled her eyes.

‘ After four years, you are now claiming to own a child.’ Asha thought before replying him with a hmmm.

” What are you doing here?” She asked and he stretched fort his hand.

” Can I have my pendant back?” He asked instead and she replied with a hmmm.

She opened her bag and brought out the pendant. She kept it on the table and shifted it to his front.

Josh carried the pendant and stood up. He walked to her back and wore it on her neck which caught her by surprise.

” It looks beautiful on you” he said and she smiled.

” Why did you give it back to me?”

” Because I like you…I know it sounds crazy but I do…. Am gradually falling for you.” He explained and she bowed down her head.

” But I don’t like you.”

” I can make you like me, why don’t we start from scratch…ok let’s take do it this way…am asking you out… just give me a reply.”

” Can we start all over…from scratch?” He asked and her eyes w¡dened in shock.
