✍️ CHAPTER TITLE ✍️: YET, ANNABEL SOLVED HER TRIALS.

“I’m glad that you’re doing better than the other day we met… You must have dealt with the healing process very fast, I think.” Caleb elaborated.

He kept his gaze straight as he enjoyed the little and free discussion he has been having with the Princess for minutes now.

During a moment or the other, he would stare down at Damien who was sitting in another row of his own comfortable space different from theirs.

Damien had stopped bothering about whatever was going on between them, ever since he put on his ear_pods. He utterly minded his business, and didn’t care if they were there.

“That… I’m healing fastly. I can’t grief about that forever,” Andromeda answered in a soft tone. She would push her hair towards the back of her ear, from time to time, then relax the tension which lies in discussing with a stranger.

Ops! Was Caleb even a stranger in the first instance… She had met him before. Everybody knows Caleb and Damien together.

Andromeda doesn’t read articles everytime like Vera, but she knows that it’s been rumored and known that Caleb is different from Damien.

Damien nags at any slightest mention of a woman. While Caleb talks and does whatever is needed with them, and he wouldn’t flinch. Although no special woman has been seen around him.

“I’m glad you’re seeing through that successfully well. It shows that you are a great woman,” Caleb emphasized and smiled a little.

Hearing that, Andromeda smiled back and they both allowed nature to use a few minutes of their time.

“So… What about you? Why made you visit where we met?” Andromeda asked. Caleb showing concern for her during her grieving moment showed just how much he cares about others.

Aside from consoling her then, he even found it worth it to come visit her again. It’s in all sanity and reasoning, which made it obvious that Caleb also, wasn’t in his big mood that particular night they met.

Something was also bothering him and that was what Andromeda is about to find out about him.

Caleb faked a smile, and looked towards Damien to check if he had seen them fit to worth his attention, but it was a no from Damien. His concentration was still on his phone. Making Caleb wonder about what’s fascinating about that phone suddenly.

Damien isn’t a phone lover. He uses it during basic needs only. Now that he’s busy with it, can it be because he lacks interest in what’s happening here, or because he has something important to do with it…?

“I needed to relieve myself of a few pains. The pain from the past, but they still hurts badly whenever it arises in the present,” he replied reluctantly.

What happened that fateful night was that he had thought about the past so much. Pretty much till when the pain couldn’t be hidden, and he only wanted a place of releasing himself from the pain.

“Did someone break your heart too?” Andromeda asked. Starting from when she asked Caleb about it, his expression changed suddenly from what it was.

She knows that they are just getting to meet properly and shouldn’t ask too many questions, but nah! This stranger knows a lot about her pain and asking about his pain too shouldn’t be a deal.

“Yes, my heart was also broken. I thought I’ve healed over it, but the pain comes afresh with the memories of it,” Caleb justified.

He didn’t lie. The pain that comes with that past grief is painful and hurts so much.

“I’m sorry I made you remember that again….” Andromeda spoke with concern laced in her voice. Caleb smiled faintly, then he nodded his head.

“I hope you will eventually overcome the pain. Our hearts are meant to be broken by people who don’t deserve our love,” Andromeda started speaking, with her eyes all over his face.

“People don’t even know how difficult it is for the heart to survive their betrayal. But what I’ve learned so far is that it always heals. No matter what made it shattered, it would heal,” Andromeda spoke in excess.

She could say so many words to him because at that point, she was saying them so Caleb would feel relieved. Also, she was internally healing her pain from those words too.

“Thank you… I hope your broken heart gets mended too,” Caleb also said.

“It will be. I’ve started forgetting about it and my sister would soon be back to help me heal. You’ve also been a good therapist too in a way that you can,” Andromeda shared firmly.

Caleb who was staring at the glass of juice that the maids has brought for them intently loosened his eyes from the glass and rather concentrated them on her.

“It’s a good thing sharing the same feeling with someone who could feel what I am feeling. Damien has never been interested in such discussions. Because he doesn’t like it,” Caleb joked, and seriously, what he said made Andromeda giggle.

“I know it’s too early to ask, but why did he act like that earlier??” She asked about what she couldn’t find an answer to by herself.

She just couldn’t take her mind off that. Why was Damien unnecessarily quiet, but at the same time rude? Could he not have said a word and let Andromeda be!? Why was he being a lil harsh towards her? At least he knows that she’s a princess.

“He wasn’t in a good mood. You know we came here together with our sister, but she chooses to stay back in the car instead of following. So Damien isn’t happy about that,” Caleb excessively explained. Even if that isn’t the entire truth, it’s part of the reason why Damien was upset.

Andromeda nodded her head at the understanding of what Caleb had just told her. She knows that one of the reasons Caleb didn’t add was that ‘Damien doesn’t associate with women’ but whether Caleb mentioned it or not, she already knows.

Andromeda just severally wished that Vera isn’t away. At least, this would have been another big opportunity for her to meet with Damien, but since she isn’t here, Andromeda will do justice just telling her about everything tonight, or whenever she returns back.

Caleb and Andromeda gisted randomly ever after. It’s not a difficult thing to find comfort in talking to strangers, but most people who tried it out didn’t like it.

Use of words once said that ‘what works for others may not work for you’. While what didn’t work for them might work for you.

Many didn’t find joy in talking to strangers but Caleb and Andromeda did. Even if they were never strangers physically, because they’d seen before, but didn’t get to speak.

They just found solace in one another’s pain. Now it’s not difficult opening up to strangers while in their own story.

They only stopped discussing after an hour and when Caleb requested to start leaving. The eye shades Damien has been throwing was much and Caleb doesn’t want to pretend anymore, else Damien might lose his cool and ruin everything for him.

“I hope you smile often like this and don’t stop smiling because I’ve left,” Caleb stated after Andromeda returned his phone, in which she had input her calling digits back to him.

“I’ll probably just smile for the rest of my life then,” she joked and they both laughed softly.

Caleb assured Andromeda of giving her a call when he gets home or probably chatting her up and they both agreed on that.

The moment Damien saw that they had walked closer to him, he stood up aggressively and started heading towards the car.

Caleb sighed. Andromeda chucked. But it was a surprise to them when he stopped walking, turned back to face the two of them, then Damien said, “I don’t want to do this but I have to… Goodbye,” he stated like he never did, and abruptly left before any of them could react in their surprises.

It was not only Caleb that was surprised. Andromeda joined him in opening her mouth.

What Damien doesn’t want was for him to get in the car, and then Annabel would question him, then he would brutally fail. That might get Annabel upset.

Even if he doesn’t want to speak with her, he could tell Annabel that he greeted her. That was the reason why he told her ‘Goodbye’.

“I would have loved to meet your sister but since she isn’t here, regards to her.” Caleb told to Andromeda who nodded softly afterwards.

“We talked about everything but not your name. I don’t want to mistake your twin sister for you the next time we would be meeting,” He simply said.

“That… I’m Andromeda, and my sister’s name is Vera,” Andromeda said politely.

She didn’t make him feel uncomfortable over anything he once asked or has discussed with her, since the two of them had kept that energy from the beginning. She could freely flow with their discussion.

“Thank you, Princess Andromeda…” Caleb said and that got her cheeks to grin very hard. She likes the jovial act of his. Who would have known that a separate being like Damien could have gotten such a sweet friend like Caleb… He’s really nice.

Vera really should have fallen for Caleb in place of Damien who stresses her emotion a lot. Well, since love is part of what nature owns, and no one could underestimate nature and it’s choices.

“I’ll see you off to the car… I would love to meet your sister,” Andromeda offered.

“You’re a betrayal, Annabel. I wanted you to come to my rescue,” Damien nagged over, the moment he got back in the car. He had left Caleb to continue whatever he had to do with the Princess.

Damien needs to be far away from the sight of both Caleb and his princess drama, and thankfully he’s back in the car.

“I just don’t feel like coming along. Did you see Caleb’s girlfriend?” Annabel who was holding Vera’s hand, as her heart was raising heavily, asked.

“I didn’t need to see her because I know them. I just can’t differentiate between them,” Damien sharply replied. That gave a quick thumbs on Vera’s heart.

“I wished I could see her too, but I don’t want to leave the car,” she expressed her longing. Annabel truly wanted to see Andromeda’s face.

Knowing the princesses are identical and she has one of them living with her but prescribed like a man. It will feel good to see what Vera resembles as a lady.

“Don’t wish anymore, Caleb is already coming with her. You’ll see her without leaving the car,” Damien after seeing Caleb and Andromeda approaching the car together announced.

Damien didn’t complete that statement when Vera’s body started trembling than it was. Especially when she could also see Andromeda coming.

She had prayed so much to escape this problem, and she was close to succeeding, why is something about to go wrong again!?

“Relax! I’ll sort it out,” Annabel spoke fastly to Vera whose body was trembling. Damien overheard what she said, so he gave her an unclear look.

“I_I meant that I would come down to greet her,” she quickly corrected. Since Damien came suddenly, Vera couldn’t return to her space in the front seat. And since Damien didn’t complain about Vera, she remained sitting beside Annabel.

“Damien, please come with me to say ‘Hi’ to her, “Annabel pleaded. She could trace Vera’s eyes to the entrance where Caleb and Andromeda were coming out from.

“I just came back from seeing her. Let Disguise come with you. You brought him here for the fun, right?” Damien declined.

“The fun isn’t here. And if you are refusing to come with me, at least I can come down, right?” Annabel nagged severally.

When Damien was tired of replying, he stepped down from the car. Annabel came down and quickly dragged Damien with her against his want, as she goes to meet Andromeda.

“I thought you wouldn’t come down from the car?” Caleb raised his eyebrows at Annabel who held Damien’s palm tightly in hers.

“I reasoned about it later and knew that it would not be good for me not to meet your girlfriend before leaving,” Annabel replied.

“You daft lizard!” Caleb fumed and hit her head lightly. Annabel hissed and moved closer to Andromeda who was just smiling from the first end to the next one.

“Hi girlfriend, I’m Caleb’s sister,” Annabel introduced herself with a broad smile and immediately hugged Andromeda with an arm of hers.

Andromeda was shocked, but she wouldn’t let the cute little sister of Caleb leave without receiving a warmth back from her.

She raised her hands and wrapped them around Annabel’s back. She could not hug her tightly because Annabel refused to let Damien’s hand go.

“I’m Andromeda, nice to meet you,” Andromeda replied sweetly. Annabel nodded briefly with her head, which was placed on Andromeda’s chest since she was taller than Annabel.

“Princess Andromeda,” Annabel murmured as she detached from Andromeda’s body. She looked at her face intently, while doing the comparison of her face with Vera’s in her mind. They look really alike, if Vera drops those disguise costumes of hers.

“My brother isn’t a good boyfriend, please break up with him. I don’t want you to always get bored or scolded,” she ranted in excess to Andromeda with a serious face while glaring back at Caleb.

“Oh! We’re not actually dating… but I would inform his girlfriend about this, okay?” Andromeda answered with a broad smile.

She doesn’t know the reason why Annabel referred to her as Caleb’s girlfriend, but the cuteness overload of Annabel’s pretty reaction wouldn’t let her say too much about their relationship.

“I just came to say HI. We will leave from here,” Annabel smiled sweetly at her.

In attempt to leave, she grabbed Caleb’s left hand, since her right hand was already occupied with Damien’s, and was ready to leave with the two of them, beside her.

“Thank you for giving me a reason to stress Caleb today. Bye!” Annabel winked playfully at Andromeda who was speechless about everything presently, but she smiled back at Annabel.

“I’ll call you, Princess.” Caleb muttered loudly before Annabel could drag him away. His mouth grabbed a smile when Andromeda waved, and then smiled sweetly at him.

Damien on the other hand didn’t give a damn or bother to speak, he just followed Annabel to the car like he is a robot, which is being controlled by her.

“Annabel saved your life by asking you to stay there because I could have removed your eyes with my punches,” Damien threatened loudly.

Annabel refused on letting Vera sit somewhere else, aside from where she would sit.

When the talk was being prolonged, she got into the car and once again dragged Damien with her, so Caleb ended up sitting in the front seat, with the driver.

“Was it needed to be cold towards her? You could have told her that you aren’t me!” Caleb replied immediately.

Something in Caleb yawns for the remembrance of everything that happened between him and the princess, but he would have to do that later.

He would surely think about those moments, but that’s after replying to Damien’s rants.

“I’m not you who was suddenly good in romance. Neither was I in the mood to speak,” Damien replied bluntly.

In between the tough argument of theirs, Annabel allowed Vera to relish her fear by holding her fingers tightly.

It wasn’t at all easy for Vera to see Andromeda from a distance but couldn’t go closer to her.

All the period of when she had caught Andromeda’s sight, her body yawned for a warm hug from Andromeda, but she couldn’t get it. It took her a lot of endurance to ignore her feeling.

Escaping the route that could have led to the revealing of her secret isn’t easy. So, she needs enough time to ease herself of the fear.

All thanks to Annabel who saved her yet again, from one of her huge trouble and temptation. It wasn’t easy passing through this trials once again.
