Dianna’s POV
“So the plan is to kill him?” Eric asked as we walked towards Adrian’s Mansion

“The plan is to get him to tell us if he’s really controlling Gia and why he is controlling Gia, and we’ll do that by whatever means necessary” I said and Eric nodded

We approached the Mansion and we noticed his gate was wide open without any guards or securities

“Not that securities would have changed anything but how stupid is this guy, leaving his gates wide opened in this dangerous city, I’m begining to wonder if he’s really the one controlling Gia” I said

“I’m know he might seem stupid but he’s obviously a slick too Dianna, he cannot be trusted” Eric said

We got to the gate and made to enter but we couldn’t, we couldn’t take a step inside beyond the gate

“You are right Eric, he is really a slick and cannot be trusted, else why would he put up a boundary spell?” I said as I summoned the flames to my hand and tried to burn through the boundary

“There’s no need to waste your energy trying that” Adrian said as he stood in front of his house
“After our last encounter where I almost lost my life, I’ll be a fool if I didn’t take precautions right? So I got about twenty witches to combine their powers and create the most powerful boundary spell they can ever muster up”

“And you think we cannot break through it?” Eric asked

“I know you cannot break through it” Adrian said with a smile Eric looked at me

“Should I join you sister?” he asked

“There’s no need for that, I can feel his strong boundary ripping apart already” I said as I pressed harder on the boundary with my flaming hands

“It seems your boundary isn’t as strong as you were made to believe” I said as I ripped through the boundary and stepped in
“Or maybe the boundary is actually really strong, but I am just stronger” I smiled

“Do not kill me” he said slowly moving back as we approached him

“Is that an order?” Eric asked

“What exactly do you want from me?” Adrian asked

I walked towards him and held his hand
“I’m gonna ask you just a few pretty simple questions and if you answer all honestly, you get keep breathing and also keep your hand because for every lie you tell me today, I will burn your hand for it” I said with a smile

“So first question, how are you acquainted with my sister?” Eric asked

“Which of your sisters? You mean Gia Hammington?” Adrian asked

“Well it can’t be me can it?” I said

“I don’t know her much, she’s just someone that confuses me for her dead boyfriend most of the time” he said

“So you used that as an opening to make her your pawn and do whatever you want?!” I asked

“What?! No, I’ve never taken advantage of Gia” he said

“But you’ve turned her into your soldier have you not?” Eric asked

“My soldier? have no idea what you are talking about Eric, I……” I suddenly flamed up my hand burning his wrist and he screamed

“Lie again and the next thing I’ll burn is your neck” I said

“I swear, I’m not lying I swear” he said

“I guess the wrist burn isn’t painful enough for you” I said as I ripped his cloth and placed my flaming hand on his arm and he screamed in pain

“Dianna wait” Eric said and I stopped

“Look at that” Eric said pointing at a tattoo and Adrian’s arm

“It’s the same as the tattoo on Gia’s arm, the tattoo of a Viper” Eric stated and I looked at Adrian

“I do not understand what you guys are saying but you really shouldn’t kill me, if I die, the government are gonna send soldiers to the City to avenge my death” Adrian said

“To hell with you and your government, what in the bloody hell do you want with my sister?” I asked as I grabbed his throat

“I’m gonna ask again and if I get no answer from you, I’ll burn your neck till I get to your throat and then I will rip it out” I said

“You….you shouldn’t be here doing this, not when your…. your baby is in danger” Adrian stuttered

“What did you say?” Eric asked and Adrian laughed

“Eva’s Mansion, it’s currently being attacked as we speak” he said and I let him go

“Dianna” Eric called

“My baby girl, they are coming for my baby girl” I said as I ran out and Eric ran after me

Ivan’s POV
“There are a lot more witches guarding the Mansion now than the last time” Gia pointed out as we approached Eva’s Mansion

“So what? Are you afraid now?” I asked

“Never brother” Gia said

“Good, Ethan and Layla, you two will stay here and we’ll take care of the witches, when we are done, you can come and deactivate whatever spell is protecting the house” I said

“I can fight too, let me come with you” Ethan said

“No Ethan, it’s too dangerous, you are staying here with Layla” I said

“I am The Guardian of The Hell Gates Ivan and a bunch of witches isn’t dangerous for me, I can kill them Ivan, I can be of help” Ethan said

“But I don’t want to see you killing anyone! Yes, you are the Guardian of The Hell Gates and you will help us by using your powers to deactivate Eva’s spell but you aren’t going to be killing anyone Ethan, not whilst I’m still here so just be a good boy and stay here with Layla cause I’m sure Sophie wouldn’t want you to go around using your powers to kill people too” I said and Ethan became silent

“Let’s go Gia” I said and Gia and I walked towards the Mansion

The witches sighted us as we approached the Mansion
“Who are you and what are you doing here?” one of them asked

“Where are you manners?” I said as I walked closer to them

“Weren’t you taught to always greet your elders first?” Gia asked as she walked beside me

“It’s Ivan and Gia Hammington!!” one of them exclaimed and they all looked at us angrily

“Thank you for doing the introduction” I said

“You made a mistake coming here” one of them said and they all ran to attack us at once

“Shouldn’t you remove your gloves brother?” Gia asked

“I don’t need my powers to deal with this bunch of weaklings” I said as I grabbed one of the witches and twisted her neck and she fell lifeless on the floor

Gia’s hands had already turned icy blue and she was freezing whichever which she comes in contact with
One of the witches threw a spell at me and Gia quickly blocked it off by constructing an ice barrier in front of me

“You are welcome” she smiled and went back to fighting the witches

We killed off all the witches and Layla and Ethan came to meet us
Layla moved closer to the gate and I stopped her

“I wouldn’t advise you to touch the gate unless you want to be dissipated into ashes” I said

“Don’t worry, I’m not touching the gate, I just wanted to feel the intensity of the protection spells sorrounding this place” Layla said

“I can feel it too, the spells are pretty strong, it must have taken a lot of powers to construct such spells” Ethan said

“So? Can you deactivate the spells or not?” Gia asked

“Can we?” Layla smiled “Ethan is the current Guardian of The Hell Gates and I am pretty powerful old witch, together, there are few things we cannot do, I’ll advice you guys to move away from the gate and let’s do what we came here for” Layla said as he held Ethan’s hands and they began to chant their spells while Gia and I moved back

Minutes later, there was a strong wind and the gate flew open and Layla and Ethan fell to the ground

“Are you okay?” I asked as Gia and I helped them up

“The spell just took much of our powers but we’ll be fine” Layla said

“But it worked right?” Ethan asked

“I think so” I said as I stepped through the gate and into the Mansion unharmed

“Good, now let’s go get that blood” Gia said and along with Ethan and Layla, we all walked into the house

“Stay back!!” Eva yelled immediately she saw as walk in

“Hello Eva” I said

“We aren’t here to hurt you, we just want the baby” Gia said pointing at the baby Eva was holding

“If you take even a step closer to me I’m going to make you bleed out all the blood in your body and give you the most painful headache you’ve ever had in your thousand years old life” Eva warned

“Eva Jones right? Head of the witches? I’ve heard alot about you” Layla said

“And who are you?” Eva asked

“I’m a witch just like you, though I am not from Arcane City so I am not under your rule” Layla said

“I was wondering how you guys broke through my spells, so it was you right? You helped them break my spells” Eva uttered

“Oh no Eva, you underestimate yourself, your spells are too powerful for me to have broken through alone, it was a joint effort” Layla said pointing at Ethan

“Is that….. is that Ethan Griffith, Sophie’s brother?” Eva asked
“Oh my God! Is he….. he is the current Guardian of The Hell Gates isn’t he?” Eva asked

“Is there a point to this discussion here?” Gia asked

“I wondered how you were so able to carry out all those powerful spells alone and now that I see you, I know how, you’ve been carrying out sacrificial magic haven’t you? In order to upgrade your powers so you can carryout very powerful spells, you kill people but the sacrificial magic requires children sacrifice and you are too softhearted for that, so you’ve been using adult prisoners for your sacrifice and even though it did give you the powers, it is slowly draining the life out of you, you know you are dying don’t you? But what I cannot understand is why you continue to make those sacrifices when you very well know it’s taking a toll on you” Layla said

“Same reason why you are staying by Ivan’s side and helping him even though you do not fully support what he is doing” Eva said

“No, I am with Ivan because I care about him but you are killing yourself slowly because you want to protect the one you love, Eric Hammington right?” Layla asked

“Stay out of my head!!!” Eva yelled and Layla slowly moved closer to her

“I understand, I perfectly understand what you are going through, you’ve spent your whole life as a leader caring for everyone but with no one to really care about you but now there’s someone, there’s someone that finally cares about your well-being and you want to do everything you can not to loose him, even if it means destroying yourself in the process because you’d rather he lives and you die than for otherwise to happen”

“I said stay out of my head!!!” Eva yelled and Layla went flying to the floor

“Get ready” Ethan whispered to me

“Ready for what?” I asked but he suddenly whispered some spell and Eva went flying to the floor too and the baby fell from her hand

“No!!!” Eva screamed but I quickly caught the baby before she touched the ground

“Give back Bella to me!” Eva said as she stood back up but Gia quickly grabbed her throat

“Twitch even a muscle and I will freeze you to death” Gia threatened

“Here” Layla gave me a small bottle and I brought out a pin I had carried along with me
I poked the baby’s finger with the pin and collected a few drops of her blood into the bottle
I expected the baby to cry but she did not, she was just staring at my face with her deep innocent eyes and with a smile plastered on her face…..

Eric’s POV
I sat beside Eva’s bed as she was yet to wake up
It seemed more like she was just asleep now and she looked so tired

“Rest Eva, you really need it” Eric said

“She’s resting for too long don’t you think?” Dianna asked as she walked in

“Where’s Bella?” I asked

“She’s asleep” Dianna said

“She should sleep, she had a rough day too”

“Ivan took her blood too Eric, they have all they need to complete the immortal killing spell” Dianna said

“I am well aware of that”

“Then how can you still be so calm?!!” Dianna yelled

“Let’s go out, you might wake Eva up” I said as I stood up

“She needs to wake up, we need her the most now, we need a powerful witch like her to cast her spells and tell us the way forward” Dianna said

“She seems tired Dianna, I think she’s sleeping now, we should leave her to rest” I said

“She can rest later, she needs to wake up now and tell us the way forward” Dianna said as she moved towards Eva and I grabbed her hand

“You do not care about her do you?! All you care about is using her to achieve your aims regardless of the effect it will have on her, you don’t care about her, you do not care about anyone at all, all you do is use people to achieve your aims!!!” I yelled
“This is exactly why Ivan is not together with us today, you care about no one Dianna, no one except your baby, sometimes I wonder why I am still here with you” I said and walked out

Ivan’s POV
It was midnight and I had just woken up from a dream, the daily dream that I’ve always had each time I close my eyes since Sophie died
I stood up and walked out of my room the living room and I met Ethan there, alone and busy with some spells

“What are you doing? Why aren’t you asleep?” I asked Ethan

“I’m trying to figure the right way to combine the blood with all the other ingredients we have according to the immortal killing spell” Ethan said

“You can always do that tomorrow Ethan, you should be sleeping now and recuperating your strength” I said

“No, I can do it now, I don’t want to postpone sister’s revenge any longer, we’ve already delayed getting justice for her for too long” Ethan said

“Ethan you….” I suddenly heard the door creaked and I stood up

“What is it?” Ethan asked

“Shhh” I motioned as I slowly and silently walked towards the door
Then I saw Gia walk in

“Gia?! Where are you coming from by this time?” I asked

“I just went for a night stroll” she said

“By midnight?” I asked

“I didn’t realize we had a curfew” Gia said

“There are still demons out there Gia and nighttime is their hunting time, the last thing we want is for you to be possessed by a potentes like what happened to Dianna” I said and she nodded

“Yeah I’ll be careful of the demons” she said and walked off to her room

“Don’t be surprised, she always go for her night strolls every night” Ethan said

“Every night?” I asked and Ethan nodded

“Where’s Layla?” I asked Ethan

“The old witch is probably asleep in her room by now” Ethan said and I nodded

I went to Layla’s room and she was asleep

“I’m really sorry but I have to wake you up Layla” I said as I gently tapped her
“Layla” I called and she shifted on her bed

“Layla, please wake up will you?” I said as I tapped her and she opened her eyes

“Ivan?” she called as she sat up

“Yeah, I apologize for waking you up” I said and she looked at me surprised

“Are you sure you are Ivan? What happened to you?” she asked

“Of course I’m Ivan, what do you mean what happened to me?” I asked

“Well I can’t remember the last time Ivan Hammington apologized for disturbing my sleep or my life in general” she said and I scoffed

“I have a serious purpose for being in your room and waking you up by midnight”

“Right, so what’s going on? Who is trying to kill us or who do we have to kill?” she asked and I ignored her sarcasm

“I need you to cast a tracking spell on Gia”

“That won’t be a problem, I’ll….. wait did I hear you say a tracking spell on Gia?” Layla asked surprised and I nodded

“Yeah and you must do it discreetly, she must not know about it” I said

“Sure but can I ask why you suddenly want to keep tabs on your sister’s location?” Layla asked

“Can’t you just read my mind and find out? Do I have to tell you?” I asked

“You know I would’ve read your mind right away without asking but it’s too dark around here and I can’t barely see anything, I can’t look into your eyes to see what you are thinking” Layla stated

“Okay, Gia has been acting suspicious and as much as I do not want to doubt my sister, I despise been lied to and the moment I discover that she’s being lying to me, well let’s just say things are gonna get pretty ugly real fast”

“Wow, and here I thought the ruthless Ivan Hammington has finally gone to rest but I was obviously very wrong” Layla uttered

“Can you cast the spell or not?” I asked

“Of course I can, I’ll just need her hair or her blood, anyone that you can easily get me” Layla said

“I’ll get you here hair by tomorrow” I said as I stood up
“You may go back to sleep now” I said and I walked out of Layla’s room

Ethan we still in the living room working on the immortal killing spell
I wanted him to go to bed but he obviously wasn’t going to listen to me

“Don’t stay up too late Ethan” I said and he nodded

I went to my room and sat on the bed
What is Gia hiding?
What has she possibly got up her sleeves?….

Morning came faster then I expected, I had dozed off on the bed while thinking of Gia last night
I stood up from my bed and walked towards the door, I have to find a way to get Gia’s hair today without her noticing

I walked out of my and headed for Gia’s room, but I stopped when I noticed something was out of order
I looked at the living room and Ethan was unconscious on the floor

“Ethan!!”….
